2781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming the standard value of commodities on: September 18, 2018, 01:54:13 PM
first of all we need to stop comparing bitcoin to dollar

we need to start to discuss getting exchanges to measure bitcoin against something like CoL(cost of living)
for instance 850 minimum wage hours
so for america($7.50) = 6375

that is impossible simply because Cost of Living is not a unit of measurement and it is not global scale while USD or any other currency for that matter are unit of measurement and are global.
CoL is not only country based but it also changes on smaller scale like from city to city. for example cost of living in New York is not the same as another smaller US city.
2782  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the hype starting? on: September 16, 2018, 04:04:58 PM
there is no way we can be certain of that but there are enough reasons to believe that a surge even a small one is a strong possibility. for instance one of the biggest things to consider is the fact that price has been at the bottom for a long time now and every accumulation will lead to a surge eventually and being a the end of the year historically meant some sort of rise.
additionally we may see some ETF hype start up again and some whales may want to take advantage of it and make some more profit in the same pattern they have been doing for the past couple of months.
2783  Economy / Speculation / Re: It could take 6-24 months for Bitcoin to return to its level- Charlie Lee on: September 16, 2018, 03:51:40 PM
How could you take a word from the Litecoin creator that abandoned his own crypto? What kind of person is he?
Bitcoin and other cryptos are volatile, it means no one could ever foretell what would be the precise price or trends it would be for the next period of time, it might go up tomorrow and drop down the next day, your investment could gain a hundred folds in some minutes or lose it's half in a second, that's how crypto works.

first of all Charlie Lee giving his opinion about bitcoin and its future price does not mean he has abandoned litecoin! it is quite the opposite. in fact Litecoin's future is tightly connected to bitcoin's as it is the copy of it and has always been following bitcoin both in development and in price.

secondly you are confusing a prediction with 100% accuracy as in seeing the future with a speculation based on market trends, history and a lot of other fundamental characteristics!
2784  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which exchange do you think has the best affiliate program? on: September 16, 2018, 03:30:36 PM
i believe Binance had the best offers so far. since they gained the most customers and there were a lot of advertisement and there still is. and they offered the best way of rewarding you which is to pay you based on a percentage of the affiliate's trading volume.
2785  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin dictionary on: September 16, 2018, 03:26:23 PM
maybe you should leave these things to be on the resources such as wikis, etc instead of trying to define them yourself and make a topic about it. in the first lines you already have multiple mistakes and they don't stop there. for example:

Quote
Cold Storage - Keeping a reserve of Bitcoins offline (such as on a USB).
you don't keep your bitcoins offline you keep your keys offline.
and the example is better be a paper wallet rather than a USB.

Quote
Confirmation - A Bitcoin transaction is considered confirmed when it reaches a certain amount of blocks deep.
that is the definition of a fully confirmed and irreversible transaction not the definition of "confirmation". confirmation means the transaction is included in a block.

Quote
Cryptography - A method of storing and transmitting data in a specific form so that only those for whom it's intended can read and process it.
i don't know if you are translating things or just write based on your own understanding but this is completely wrong. Cryptography has nothing to do with "a method transmitting data"!
2786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS HOLDING TRULY THE SOLUTION TO DROP OF BTC PRICE? on: September 16, 2018, 03:17:30 PM
it seems like every time that the market acts against certain people's expectations they start coming up with the strangest of ideas regarding what can change the market into their own vision. for example what OP is talking about is one of those cases where people try to convince others not to sell because they can not believe price is going down! and think if they can convince others to hold price would stop going down and start rising.
2787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still invest in Crypto related projects, if you know it was a scam? on: September 16, 2018, 03:04:56 PM
it will all come down to that "knowing" part in my opinion. in most cases you don't exactly KNOW something is scam until it is too late. for example i didn't know Bittrex, cryptscy, ... were scams and i still lost money. obviously if i "knew" they were scams i would have never put my money there!
we always have suspicions  about these services that they may be scam but we can never know until it is too late.

of course there are "obvious scams" that others are mentioning but those are too obvious and i personally will stay away.
2788  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crashing' Bitcoin Predictions on: September 15, 2018, 04:22:06 PM
all i see is paradox everywhere in your comments!
you say bitcoin isn't unpredictable then everything else you said is saying it is unpredictable but at the same time you are trying to predict it.
then you go on with saying the past is not the "mirror" and it doesn't have to be repeated but at the same time your arguments are based on the past!
and more...

There are holders who hate bearish people
another paradox Cheesy
a long term investor commonly known as a hodler does not care about bearish or bullish trend and those people in it!

Somehow they think people who post negative things about the price want to influence the price.
it is their goal, nobody said they succeed!
and there is nothing wrong with posting "negative things" about bitcoin. but "negative things" is not the same as FUD
2789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you read the bitcoin whitepaper-The paper that first introduced Bitcoin? on: September 15, 2018, 03:46:46 PM
apart from the obvious fact that there is a lot of spam on bitcointalk, you don't come to a forum to be educated! a forum is a place of discussion and a place to ask questions that you couldn't find the answer to.
all the information anyone needs to be educated about bitcoin is already out there on good sources such as bitcoin wiki and bitcoin.stackexchange.com

as for reading the bitcoin paper, it is a pretty good idea but not a mandatory one in my opinion. specially for the end users who are scared of anything remotely technical! they are better off sticking to simplified versions that can be found elsewhere on the internet.
for example i would say watching Andreas Antonopoulos videos for these people is better than reading the paper as their first move!
2790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An Epic Journey of BTC on: September 15, 2018, 02:52:36 PM
Exactly a year ago, Bitcoin is only valued at around $4,100. From this fact alone, we can conclude that we have not really went down too low. On the overall, the price is still around $2,000 more today as compared to the same day last year. In fact, in the next three days after reaching $4,100, it even went $1,000 lower, reaching around $3,100.

Therefore, we are still gaining. I don't understand why people are in panic mode when we are definitely higher than the price a year ago.

Probably because no one pays attention to the price a year ago. Many people invested in bitcoin when it cost 10k 15k and 20k dollars. And now they are in shock.

only those who randomly or blindly bought bitcoin are now in shock because that is what randomness always brings you to. otherwise those who made a solid investment in bit coin because they studied it first and saw the real underlying potential are actually happy now because they can buy more bitcoin now that bitcoin is extremely underpriced.
2791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain on brink of bankruptcy on: September 15, 2018, 02:43:04 PM
first of all because they article is not considering the profit they gained by doubling the bitcoin they had after they forked also it is not considering the profit they made by pump and dumping BCH!

They didn't really double their Bitcoins. The split gave them additional coins in form of BCH, where they then used BTC to accumulate even more. If you also take into consideration that they have pumped the price numerous times last year, where they tried to maintain certain higher levels, you can imagine how severe the losses might have been at that point already.

Another important aspect is that by entering 2018 Bitmain also entered a new fiscal year, so the losses they suffered from this year is what really matters.

when some groups pumps an altcoin, they do it to make money. in other words they pump it so that they can dump the coin on top near the peak not to just pump and then watch it go down! that doesn't even make sense.
dumping on top means they made a lot of money while gullible newbies were buying BCH thinking it is the "real bitcoin"!
2792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to discuss next halving? on: September 15, 2018, 02:10:25 PM
We're in a bear market because BTC rose by a lot in a very short time and needed a correction, that's it.

i agree with your points i just want to add that the rises haven't started yet because of ETF decisions and the fear that has been going around in the market in the past couple of months that started with people thinking ETF is the only way price can go up then saw the rejection take place and now some still think the rejection by the end of this month can create a big drop!
2793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop allowing manipulators to switch you off and on on: September 15, 2018, 02:04:14 PM
a better statement would have been to tell people to make up their minds and learn how things work. for instance if you want to invest in bitcoin then invest in bitcoin instead of wasting your time with short term fluctuations. and if you really believe in any other  coin then invest in them but first make sure your belief didn't  come from some advertisement on this forum telling you that altcoin is good!

or if you wanted to go the rout of day trading then first learn how it works. FUD can also be used in a profitable way. if price is falling why not take advantage? but first you need to educate yourself and gain experience. you can't make profit if you are new to this.
2794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain on brink of bankruptcy on: September 15, 2018, 01:44:12 PM
to be honest i can not see any truth in this and the fact that this is a post by some newbie on twitter and reposted by another newbie (possibly the same person trying to get twitter followers) reposting it on reddit/r/bitcoin makes be more sure about it being false information.

reading the article that is obtained after 3 links! using google translate i can see it is just click bait. 70% of the article is talking about Jihan Wu's personality and degrees Cheesy
the 30% remaining is just talking about BCH and saying they lost basically because they invested in BCH!
of course there have been losses but they are far from bankruptcy. first of all because they article is not considering the profit they gained by doubling the bitcoin they had after they forked also it is not considering the profit they made by pump and dumping BCH!
2795  Economy / Economics / Re: What's going on with Oil prices? on: September 08, 2018, 04:18:20 PM
maybe this is related to Iran's sanctions, it is an oil rich country and if i am not mistaken pretty soon due to sanctions selling of oil would become near impossible.
if so, then it is a simple supply and demand reason with the supply being cut (or at least the fear of it) the price goes up. in fact this has been speculated before:
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/08/06/us-sanctions-on-iran-could-push-oil-prices-above-90-a-barrel-by-year-.html
2796  Economy / Speculation / Re: Satis Group-Bitcoin might reach 96K by 2023 on: September 08, 2018, 03:43:49 PM
in the future monero will be #2 coin, eventually 1 XMR = 1 BTC

that will never happen. monero may grow bigger because of its anonymity features but it is not enough to make it grow as big as bitcoin. not to mention that monero faces a much bigger scaling issue than bitcoin ever did.
2797  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Buying from bitcoin.com? on: September 08, 2018, 03:30:03 PM
i personally wouldn't trust anything that comes from Roger Ver (owner of bitcoin.com) but this site has been around for a long time and people have been using it to purchase bitcoin.
the only thing they may scam you with is that you may try to buy bitcoin and they fool you into buying bitcoin cash instead.
2798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: con a ransomeware maker on: September 08, 2018, 03:22:03 PM
can i make a transaction who never confirmed or  canceled later or un-confirmed transaction ?
any thing guarantie the money don't go to him

no there are none.
besides the hacker would probably wait for the transaction to confirm before doing anything and as bob said above they do NOT give you anything even if you pay them.
on top of that there are ways to make an unconfirmed transaction confirm faster by increasing its priority. for example by using CPFP. so you may end up conning yourself trying to con the hacker!
2799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock ETF, Antonopoulous and the Bitcoin Bubble on: September 07, 2018, 03:04:11 PM
The issue with ETFs is similar to that of futures in that they do not require bitcoin to be traded in order to trade on the fluctuations of bitcoin price. It again moves us away from the real use of bitcoin which is as a currency not as an asset.

although the two of them are different but i also see the similarities. and they are both bad things for bitcoin. if ETF is approved we will see more manipulation of the price and same people who are now talking about "moon" will start topics about how ETF ruined bitcoin.
2800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 Signs and Symptoms That You’re Suffering From Bitcoin Addiction on: September 07, 2018, 02:51:03 PM
is this seriously legit? like really? Is it because bitcoin is getting a lot of attention and people are too obsessed about it? Im actually speechless about this.

It's pretty BS in the first place. Most of those characteristics aren't signs of addiction at all. Not because I have a CMC tab open all the time it doesn't automatically mean I'm addicted, etc. A different title might be more fitting that calling it straight-off addiction.

i think this nonsense started the first time with some company starting up some money grab program from gullible newbies calling it "cryptocurrency addiction". they were saying it is a clinic that "treats" this addiction. LOL.
it was funny now and it is still funny. it is like saying if you have fiat then you are a fiat addict, if you open your wallet and see cash in it then you need to be treated. come pay us money to treat your addiction Cheesy
