Does that allege what I think it does!? That, Simon, the Hashfast CTO was essentially conspiring to sell Hashfast's remaining assets for below market value to a entity outside the US so that they could setup a secret joint Bitcoin mine and he could share in the profits which he thought would be outside the reach of US law?! Incredible.

I know bitmain are pretty cheap now but does anyone know where there may be second hand antminer s1's other than eBay. Lots for sale on eBay but $300-400 is ridiculous considering they are only $200 new.
It's not ridiculous because eBay charges 13% to sellers who in turn had to buy those AntMiners from Bitmain for BTC with an additional 1% exchange fee. You will never find a discount deal on ebay unless you are buying from a guy that just cleaned out his closet and is getting rid of junk. Also, I think you are thinking about miner pricing the wrong way. Being "used" does not in any way decrease the value of the hardware assuming it is in good working order. Miner prices are dictated by the value of the BTC they are predicted to mine over their useful lifetime.

I don't think this was planned as a scam, they are not smart enough for such. HashLast was just an unlucky accumulation of incompetence.
I do. It doesn't take much intelligence to realize that in the Bitcoin ASIC market if you lie about your delivery date you can get people to pay more for your product than they would if given the truth. In hindsight it's pretty clear they knew their promised Oct. date was a big fib from the start. They may have run into additional problems along the way that made it difficult for them to get away with their initial plan but it was a scam none the less.

Shocking. These maggots have used lawyers & legalese to steal at every turn, nobody should be surprised. This wasn't voluntary this is what Minor Miner and Entropy-uc were talking about doing last week in their thread, "Putting Adults in Charge at Hashfast" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=588068.0In other words if Hashfast owes you money this might be good news.

Should have engaged their customers in late 2013 with the truth, humility, and a earnest desire for a mutually-agreed plan. I was here screaming for it. They had no interest. And, to be honest, those that wanted BTC refunds didn't have much interest either.
That's just not true. I and many others tried to contact them offering to work out something reasonable Hashfast simply didn't respond. Privately, or publicly? Mostly privately both directly and through a lawyer over the course of 2 months, though I also specifically recall saying in response to one of your posts that I was open to talking to them but correct me if I'm wrong they never responded to your requests to meet with them either. I've spoken privately to half a dozen other Hashfast customers with similar stories they all tried to contact Hashfast only to be met with silence or BS. The only thing Hashfast has ever offered was predicated on signing that onerous release that didn't even guarantee they would send you a USD refund and made you sign away any legal right you had to hold them accountable in court.

So back in September the house fire was dismissed as no big deal and deCastro managed to show up for a morning media interview the next day and now they claim it was a major contributor to their utter failure. http://www.businessweek.com/printer/articles/185877-the-bitcoin-mining-arms-race-heats-upEduardo de Castro runs HashFast Technologies, a mining startup founded in early 2013. Sitting in a cafe in Mountain View, Calif., in September, de Castro, too, displays feverish signs: He had a house fire the night before, which he mentions dismissively only after being asked about the bandages on his arms and face."
vs. On top of it all, there was an act of God, too. deCastro experienced a massive electrical fire in his house due to a faulty electrical device charger.
“I had burns, smoke inhalation, and everything I owned burned,” he said, lamenting the fact that one of his dogs died in the blaze. One of his housemates was apparently in the hospital for three months as a result. “I barely managed to get out.”
With deCastro out of commission for a little while, Barber said he was put in charge of “business stuff,” while his normal area of expertise is engineering.
“This distracted me, I should have been supervising these [board] contractors more closely,” he admitted.

I'm reluctant in talking about that because I don't see why I should help them filing the huge holes of their story, so keeping it private makes sense for now.
Agreed.

I asked them about that, quoting that date. They answered that they actually had the wafers in hand the 28th of October (Edward said so, asking for a confirmation to Simon in the meanwhile) (they might have said 29th, unsure). They added that they also asked TSMC to stop the rush they imposed on their order, since that the board design was late and there was no point in rushing the ASIC anymore.
There was also the blog post on Nov 8th saying "Today we have reached a real milestone: Silicon Wafers Have Arrived in Silicon Valley!" They now expect us to believe the chips actually arrived in Oct. (just barely) despite making multiple posts back in Nov. stating that the chips arrived in November. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:3pw0UOayk_4J:hashfast.com/silicon-in-silicon-valley/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us@Cedivad can you add the above link to the timeline on Hashfast.org I don't think it is currently in there.

So ScamFast said email chips@hashfast.com if you want to convert to chips, today they announced a partnership with pepper mining. I emailed chips@hashfast.com asking how many chips I could get and this was what came back from google groups email.... We're writing to let you know that the group you tried to contact (chips) may not exist, or you may not have permission to post messages to the group. A few more details on why you weren't able to post:
* You might have spelled or formatted the group name incorrectly. * The owner of the group may have removed this group. * You may need to join the group before receiving permission to post. * This group may not be open to posting. Can they be that stupid? or is this just another ploy? They are probably using Google apps for business and didn't check the option, "Also allow anyone on the Internet to post messages" when they setup the group alias. Par for the course, they don't know how to operate their email software and/or didn't bother to test that it was setup right.

What a bunch of baloney, I know in my case and probably all the other cases that the individuals and their lawyers tried to reach out and resolve the situation for weeks and months prior to the lawsuits being filed. The fact that Hashfast is being sued is their fault and their fault alone.

Further, why was the adminstrators identifying information removed from the original posts? Thankfully TAT quoted it for reference.
DT suggested the change after a kidnapping attempt on my daughter in mid-April. So you must have reported that to the authorities right? So there should be a official record of such a serious attempted crime with some police department?

"We have been converting existing system and board orders, even those who have requested a refund or sought legal action, to ASICs orders." They fired half of their staff and hired someone who knows how to manage money. They also appear to be going back to their core competency "Bitcoin ASIC technology". What have they been focusing on? Partying and trolling their customer base? So in late Oct. 2013, when they were supposed to deliver, difficulty was at 400 Million. It is now 8 Billion a 2000% increase and to add insult to injury they are going to make people go through the work and expense of sourcing their own board, PSU, and cooling system? I mean roughly speaking they would need to 'convert' every early BabyJet order to something like 30+ raw chips for this to be a fair deal for customers. Given that they didn't make any mention of what their actual conversion math is I don't see how this isn't just another way for them to give people the run around while they avoid having to refund their ill gotten profits.
