281  Economy / Economics / Re: Can a Stock Market Crash affect Bitcoin? on: February 06, 2020, 02:03:09 PM
We haven't had a really big crash since Bitcoin's inception (it itself is in response to one) so things could turn up different from what we expect. Most people here agree that investors might buy it up in an attempt to try to keep their money's value and that's a very logical thing to do.

But let's also not discount the possibility that some people would be pulling out their money for various reasons. For one, people would need more cash during such events and people who don't have much left might dip into their crypto savings.

This was the first post to mention that we have not had a meltdown in the market since 2008 or pre btc.

When I get home I will merit it.
282  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Samsung Announces 3nm prototype chip! What does this mean for ASICs? on: February 06, 2020, 01:40:54 PM
Well first it means don't buy any gear for the time being.
We have three factors here 1/2 ing

5nm due this quarter
3nm due 4th quarter.

I won't order anything for now. My guess is 5nm comes in july and 3nm comes in Feb.

284  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: T17/S17 malfunction: cases, solutions, remedies, RMA history on: February 06, 2020, 01:31:02 PM
So new miner with a brick for a control board.

And it never worked. At  all correct.
285  Other / Meta / Re: Is there any possibility to put on ignore every member who display a signature? on: February 05, 2020, 04:32:39 PM
Bossian, in my opinion, the best way to make a forum better for you is to manually ignore every user whose messages you no longer want to see. You don't have to do it with some kind of timeline, nor should it be a list of thousands of users. Use the forum as you always use it, and just ignore users/s if for some reason you think they are posting only for the purpose of making money, not an actual discussion.

Personally, I'm against blocking all users who have a signature, because doing so you would lose the ability to read really good posts.

My none alt has a signature that has no advertising so if he blocks it he would not be serving himself much good.

One by one on a-hole posts is much better.
286  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Introduces the S17+ and T17+ on: February 02, 2020, 09:59:19 PM

287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are easiest (or) fastest coins to mine with GPU GTX 950m 4GB ? on: January 31, 2020, 06:34:04 PM
Profitable  would be none unless you have really cheap power.
288  Other / Meta / Re: No support on this forum? on: January 30, 2020, 07:31:58 PM
Giving a final statement:

The DOGE question was placed in the only place here that is about DOGE -> ANN thread

The BCH questions was placed in own thread because it interest me and in ANN thread

I think the main reason is that Altcoin fans mostly dont use this forum.

The altcoin section is truely bad managed.

You could split it up in Top 5  , Top 20 and maybe rest Altcoins. And also this confused ANN section should be divided.
But the Forum Admins dont care about alt....

The name of the forum is bitcointalk.

It is btc first and formost.

Bch may have a developmental penalty placed on it. May not it is not certain.

As for doge I use a ledger wallet for my 500,000 doge.

Part of what you are not understanding is 20% of the posts are made.to earn via an advertiser using a signature space of a poster.
289  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: January 30, 2020, 12:54:23 AM
I am finding it hard it get any real time accurate information on this.
Not sure why an entire city is shut down.
Not something I can recall happening very much.

You are correct that banking and cc's should work fine.  I did read food supplies are a real concern for wuhan.

I do have this piece on info my wife spent 4 days in the hospital with 2x pneumonia she is home and okay. Our local hospital  has 284 beds 215 were filled with pneumonia-flu victims. This was jan 13 to jan 17.

Howell New Jersey is 10000 miles from Wuhan, China yet we are having lots of lung disease. Nurses and doctors told.me it has been the worst they ever seen.

292  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces the Antminer S17 Pro, Antminer S17, and the Antminer T17 on: January 15, 2020, 05:35:19 PM
Trump and co. Smiling  as.we pay that 27.6% on the s17+.

I paid thousands last year.
293  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: nicehash not working with T17 antminer on: January 14, 2020, 08:26:02 PM
Yeah the new firmware prevents nicehash due to.the constant switching nicehash causes.  I would not use nicehash with t17 t17e t17+ gear.

Or any type of.s17 gear.
294  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Energy requirements to brute force SHA-256 on: January 13, 2020, 11:53:06 PM
Okay I need a bit of help. To explain this but let's try.

I have a private key say 12345.   To an address say 1fool it is a vanity address made offline safely.   I input it to a btc wallet with a second password say 24680

A thief inputs random price keys to a wallet.  Brute force all the way.

One day private key comes up 12345  the one for address 1fool

At this point is the thief in.? I think not I think he needs to guess password 24680

Is this correct?

He needs the private key and the second password correct?
295  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer T17e is not powering on: January 13, 2020, 10:05:19 PM
yeah
the t17e
the m20s
The m21s all pull over 3000 watts.

I think the op's internal wire needs to be 12 gauge and the circuit breaker needs to be 20amp.
296  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer T17e is not powering on: January 13, 2020, 09:09:14 PM
OP is in the phillipines so I don't know how the wiring is by him. His internal wire could be 14 gauge he may have only 15 amp breaker and he may not.

He has the t17e model my two t17e units are very power hungry 3200 watts. I do not want him to hurt  his home.
297  Other / Meta / Re: Who wants to start a newbie project on the beginners' board with me? on: January 13, 2020, 09:02:27 PM
How about a hardware wallet vs browser wallet vs exchange vs bt core primer.
298  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 253 blocks solved! on: January 13, 2020, 08:57:39 PM

299  Other / Meta / Re: Road to hero membership on: January 01, 2020, 04:35:40 AM
Now you only need 80 more merit to become a hero member, good luck Talkstar.
New Year celebration is going on and from now we are going to forget our past for a new beginning. New year with new rank is undoubtedly gonna be special for anyone not only me. Just preparing to start with more contributions and hope i will be able to serve as like as did from the beginning of my forum journey. Maybe merit will come sooner or later based on my contribution for this community.

Good luck, mate. It seems you will reach the Hero member soon in the next year.  Wink
Thanks for your prediction and encouragement.

Gave you 3 to get closer.
300  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: When was your last "Oh, shit!" moment - How did it turn out? on: December 29, 2019, 11:41:34 PM
Okay my beta m20s died. It is 68th so it is costly.
I could have ordered a psu from pangolinminer but it was 208 inches plus tax and wait for about eight days.  I found HMtech in North Carolina he sold me a whatsminer p21 psu.  It is an upgrade from my p20 psu.

Paid on thursday the 26th arrived on sat the 28th

First test plug it in it works.
Second test attach the fans it worked.
Third test fully swapped it out and it boots to the error controller can not find psu p20.

I knew this would happen as my m10 p10 to m10 p11 psu did the same and would only work with a firmware upgrade.

Went to upgrade the controller to allow the p21 psu.

Firmware failed.  Very pissed off. I keep looking for a good firmware
I had a beta m20s it uses the h6 controller not the h3
Every firmware was
Finally found h6 firmware for nov 2019.  It worked my 68th is back online downtime was
About 12 days.
