281  Economy / Marketplace / Re: BEST ESCROW MARKETPLACE ?? lear net on: February 24, 2018, 06:36:25 PM
Hello, im a Bitcointalk.org account seller, and im seraching a marketplace (on the clear net) that use Escrow. I was on bitify.com , but i dont know why, they suspended my listings.

Can someone tell me other escrow markets??

Do you need escrow for yourself or for you buyers? If you do need escrow as of now, I would say to start off by gaining reputation on these forums by posting and using on-site escrows first. After you build up a positive reputation, you can move towards an autobuy (rocketr, satoshibox, etc.). Of course, this requires that you don't scam anyone, that you sell legal items, and that there are no issues with your product during that first phase of selling on forums. Building up reputation is huge, as it allows you to be more fluid in how you sell.
282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is it possible to hack someone's account? on: February 24, 2018, 06:29:23 PM
I have been hearing people saying their account got hacked by hackers and each time I hear this I ask myself how is this possible, not until 2day ago I was hit by an hacker! I don't know how he got access to my private key, even if I give you the private key, is as unless as nothing, this is because the private key digits are not complete, to get the complete key you will also have to hack my brain.

In all the various places I stored my private key I always make sure the digits are not complete, in case someone mistakenly get access to it.

But how this guy manage to get access to my key still remains a mystery to me.

The question is, if you have been hacked before what mistakes do you think you did that result to you been hacked. Maybe this will help me find my fault.

It's Myetherwallet account

I'm not sure if MyEtherWallet is a solely online account or also available to store in some type of hardware wallet, but if you had all the information on your computer, it's possible that you had a Remote Administrator Tool installed somehow. That allows the hacker to access everything on your computer. You should probably run a couple of malware tests.

If you keep any private keys in a digital setting, that should be changed asap. I keep my private keys on paper only. They're inaccessible by most people as well. Always be cautious with storing things online /on your computer.
283  Economy / Speculation / Re: As BTC hovers around $10K, is it gathering momentum for another round of uptrend on: February 24, 2018, 05:54:07 PM
In all honesty, I don't see any reason for the market to rocket up any time soon. In that regard, I would probably be a little more conservative when it comes to the slow weeks and probably months we still have ahead of us. These times are great for people looking to accumulate coins over a longer period of time around more or less the same levels. By the time the market is ready to take off, you will have enough coins ready to benefit from the next boost that might be related to either more Segwit adoption, or even LN. I personally consider the latter to be more of a trigger that will lift this market up to the next level. More future markets won't do it, an ETF probably won't do it, so it has to be LN one way or another.

I agree, I feel like we're in some kind of downtime right now. There isn't much new news hovering around. Once something like a large government comes out saying that they'll accept bitcoin for something important like taxes, it's likely that we'll be hovering around the same 10k price range. I agree that future markets, something like an ETF as well, wouldn't be able to change the price at a major scale. It needs to be some news, either good or bad, that influences the price.

I would actually venture to say that I'd rather take the chances of having bad news come up and buy even lower than this current holding spot, because while it's lower, I'm much more sure that the price will rebound.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HOW TO BUY 1 BITCOIN USING ONLY 198.12$ on: February 24, 2018, 05:41:51 PM

When i joined Crypto world, like everyone else i wanted to own some bitcoin. I wanted to invest in bitcoin and keep it. I however found out too expensive for me to buy and this is what i resulted in to:

I decided to look for very cheap tokens that had a good model or project backing them.

In my pursuit i saw the CAPPACITY (formerly Artoken) tokens. This is a very good project supporting 3D that partnered with Alibaba later in their Pre ICO stage in October last year.

Their Presale Minimum buy was only 35$ and only 1250 people joined. price was 0.008$ then

A month later their tokens was registered in Cryptopia Exchange and in just 2-3 weeks i sold my 27898 tokens for 15,000$

And that is how i got myself out of the mess of trying to invest what i am not willing to lose.

This is my hack of life so may not work for you but to the new traders, this could be an easier way to acquire a BITCOIN

Any positive replies are welcome. thanks a lot in advance

I think the title of this post is a little misleading, especially for those who are just getting into bitcoin and see this post. Instead, you should mention something about smart trading instead. Altcoin trading is becoming one of the most important parts of cryptocurrency markets, especially with everyone trying to get into the mix as early as possible. ICO's are a good way to make money, but for the public, they should be cautious. Too many ICOs are not real, and instead they're scams. People generally push all ICOs into the same group, so they get a bad rap.
285  Economy / Marketplace / Re: seller refuse to meetup to selll miners but accept escrow your thouhts? on: February 23, 2018, 06:09:40 PM
Hi I found one seller but he refuse to meet before I make escrow payment? He sell many miners for 45KEUR... ok maybe because of this amount but still you could meetup other place with less miners split order etc.
What do you think it's a scam? He allow to see product after escrow payment. and its not cash but BTC payment

If it's an escrowed deal, make sure to find someone VERY reputable because I don't think you'll be dealing with small amounts of money. Even with an escrow, I would be a little iffy about the seller. If I were to spend that much money, I'd want to see the product before I make any payment. So, in this case, I would say not to go through with the deal just because if you're dealing with the amount of money that you say you are, it's not worth it to get scammed.
286  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin will have a price of $50000 on: February 23, 2018, 06:07:31 PM
Based on the news, bitcoin might hit $50000 by the end of 2018. Is this possible? If so, what are the reasons?

I really think anything is possible for bitcoin. I've been watching the market long enough that I don't know how low or how high bitcoin can go. However, I made sure to call the outcome possible and not probable for a reason. For bitcoin to reach 50k by the end of this year would require a lot of new investors to jump into the pool, with a lot of money. Even then, since people saw the last time bitcoin kept going up, they're going to be quick to come to the conclusion that every gain made by bitcoin will result in some loss. This will induce fear in new investors and even current ones.
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Crashing? on: February 23, 2018, 06:02:59 PM
1 — Bitcoin jolted by regulation worries, tumbles 11% on extended sell-off

Bitcoin plummeted below $10,000 this week, half what it was worth at its peak, because investors are afraid regulators might clamp down on the volatile cryptocurrency. The price of bitcoin, the world’s biggest and best-known cryptocurrency, fell to as low as $9,500 on the Luxembourg-based Bitstamp exchange, the lowest since December 1. (Source: Fox Business)

Why this is important for your business:

As I write this – and for all I know – Bitcoin may have doubled in value.  But that’s the point. Digital currencies are absolutely the future and if you’re running a small business you need to pay close attention as to when you’ll start accepting these in some form.  But, given the extreme volatility of these assets that time is still far in the future.

Do you think bitcoin is really crashing?

Source: https://www.forbes.com/sites/quickerbettertech/2018/01/21/is-bitcoin-crashing-and-other-small-business-tech-news-this-week/#cd382fc2e1bd

No. Bitcoin always corrects itself by some amount after any large gain. The correction was bound to come after we jumped 4,000 dollars from 6k to 10k. Currently, bitcoin is back past 10k, so I don't see how so many people jumped to the conclusion of a crash.

I like how you added a statement that goes past whether or not bitcoin goes up or down after you post this. I agree that the volatility can move people away from the coin, but the volatility can work in favor of businesses. Furthermore, I believe that there can be coins created that have a much more stable price.
288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is Dropping, and Experts Can't Agree Why on: February 23, 2018, 07:30:22 AM
I reckon all of last year's exorbitant predictions about bitcoin going up to over $100,000 for 2018 will not come to fruition in the next 12 months.
yeah, i don't think we are going to see the same big rise as last year. but that doesn't mean there will be no ATH this year.

Quote
Also, how would it affect the altcoin market? Will some altcoins take advantage and try to chase more value versus bitcoin?
so far there are more dumps in altcoins than there are any rises. the thing is, most altcoins followed bitcoin with it like LTC or after it when it became stable but they did follow it up. so if you think bitcoin's bull market is over and there is no rise, then the same should be true about altcoins too!

i think we will see the same pump and dumps in altcoins. and we will surely see some new small coins get huge pumps this year and take a position from the top coins.

Quote
If it stays around that level, it could signal a stabilization for weeks, but a drop could signal a plunge to even $6,000.[/i]
i am interested to see how this will turn out to be like but so far we are having higher highs and higher lows which indicates a slow rise. and i don't see $6000 be repeated if this trend continues.

I agree with that first point. There's always a chance that there will be a form of stability to come to bitcoin. In this case, it might even be some steady growth towards an ATH. Altcoins are an interesting subject especially as of now. It seems like most bitcoin supporters don't really like altcoins, but most blockchain supporters are not opposed to the ideas of having companies try out using the system in their own unique way. I think altcoins inspire innovation and will stick around for this year.
289  Economy / Speculation / Re: Have the fees gone down? on: February 23, 2018, 01:01:42 AM
I just transferred about 1 BTC to a wallet and the fee was something like 20 cents. Is that right? I recall having fees of $25 back in December for the same amount. I'm using Segwit by the way.

Yes, the fees are down right now because of the lack of unconfirmed transactions. When there's a large overflow, then only will you end up with terrible fees. As of now, you can use blockchain.info to check how many unconfirmed transactions there are.

As of now, you'll have much less of a fee than you would have had in December because everyone was trying to sell back then. It's a little more stable as of now.
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robinhood adds support for trading BTC and ETH on: February 22, 2018, 09:58:39 PM
It seems like this platform is restricted to few countries only. But one thing I am struggling to understand, it may sound little off-topic here.

If this company is providing a commission free trading platform, how they are recovering their operating cost? A platform like this requires a lot of money to stay in operation and also to maintain the security. Am I missing anything? Are Indians allowed to use this platform.

I believe there is restricted access based on your country, so it's likely that India is not supported on the system. In terms of how they make money, they do have a subscription based system as well. It's called Robinhood gold that allows you to trade 2x the free account's buying power. Furthermore, it allows for after hour trading as well. It seems like this is a part of how they make money, but there is another system that I have heard about that I don't know enough about to make a complete statement. All I know is that they use the non-invested money in your brokerage account as a bank account would and collect interest on it.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Robinhood adds support for trading BTC and ETH on: February 22, 2018, 08:29:21 PM
Just read this article:

http://blog.robinhood.com/news/2018/2/21/robinhood-crypto-trading-is-here

It seems as though Robinhood will continue to roll out with high scale crypto trading. If they move towards the altcoin markets, they have the chance of becoming one of the largest exchanges to support multiple coins. New investors will be particularly drawn towards the zero-fee promise that Robinhood offers all of its members as well.

What do you guys think is the next step for Robinhood and how do you think this will affect the Bitcoin prices?
292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trust will not betray the results on: February 22, 2018, 06:21:19 PM
you are right, bitcoin is not suitable for weak hands
because bitcoin has always been a negative conversation in the media, and almost 80% of media always tell bad about bitcoin
automatically, those easily affected by negative media news, will soon sell their assets
and weak hands will not get anything here

I think there's a stronger psychological game that's played by the media when it comes to bitcoin. It's not the fact that they just spread bad news about Bitcoin, it's that when the coin is dropping, they perpetuate the drop by continuing to claim the negatives of bitcoin. Instead, all they have to do is spread some beneficial news to stop the drop, as people buy based on how the news revolving the coin portrays it. Furthermore, when bitcoin is going up, the media spreads good news about it. It's flipped, and ideally, there should be good news even when the drops are happening.
293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This crypto-millionaire bought a Lamborghini for $115 thanks to bitcoin on: February 22, 2018, 06:10:52 PM
That's really nice for him. In its place, I would invest in more coins with a small portion of the money, but save most of the money.
You never know when the next (important) bill will come. I would not have bought a Lambo. I would have rather bought a property and a simple car. Then the future is actually very safe.  Wink

That's a much smarter move in my opinion too. Although, it is very enticing when it's something like a Lamborghini. I feel like when people make a lot of money off of Bitcoin, the media covers what they purchase and not the actual trading and saving habits that they have. I'm sure the investor in the article has numerous other investments that guarantee that he will never be poor. If the media focused on the trading aspect and the habits of these people, the general population would be much better off.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Goes Back Below 10K USD on: February 22, 2018, 06:07:35 PM
What do you guys think? Are we going back to 6K or will it go up again, with this beeing just a healty dip?

https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-drops-below-10k-as-crypto-markets-dip/

The thing is that people watch it drop, don't do anything about it, and then say that their entire life is miserable and that Bitcoin is going to crash like crazy. It's really funny to me because all that they have to do is buy the dip. If they buy the dip and hold onto the coins after that, they reap every profit when the coin goes up. People are too nervous about Bitcoin going to zero everytime a drop comes by because they don't understand that the market almost always rebounds.
295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the best Long-term Hold? on: February 22, 2018, 05:42:53 PM
ETH in my opinion.
now 1 btc = 11 eth
next year 1 eth = 11 bitcoin

Bold statement without any backing. Typical response on these forums.

I don't think you should take your chance with altcoins. Bitcoin currently and will (for a while) have the largest market cap because it's simply the coin that people know of. The amount of people that know about bitcoin versus ethereum is likely not even close. Even if those people were to know the both of them, there's even a higher disconnect between the people who know how they work and those who don't. If a new investor sees bitcoin, a coin that he/she has heard about from her friends, coworkers, news, etc., and then sees ethereum which doesn't have as much of a market presence, I'm sure the investor would go with the safer choice, which is bitcoin.
296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin destroyed? on: February 22, 2018, 05:59:13 AM
Is it possible to destroy bitcoin?
What are the factors that can destroy it?
How can we prevent this event to occur if this is possible?
Share your thoughts Smiley

Destruction can come in many forms. If anyone finds some kind of exploit in the system that it's built on, I guess bitcoin could be destroyed. Bitcoin could also be destroyed if no one wants to buy it anymore. Since bitcoin is both a new technology as well as a currency and asset, I see both of these options resulting in some "bitcoin death."

I think it's pretty far out there in terms of probability of happening. I doubt something like this will happen in the near future.
297  Other / Off-topic / Re: Many States Legalize Marijuana in the U.S. on: February 21, 2018, 05:06:59 PM

This has been ongoing news for a while now.

I actually think this could have some impact on the bitcoin markets. Previously, I've heard of "dealers" taking bitcoin to preserve their anonymity. Now, not only do those dealers not have much ground, but they're also driven out of their "market" because it's legal. Could reduce the amount of bitcoin transacted around; drugs have a piece of the bitcoin market movement.
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any correlation between Bitcoin and this death? on: February 21, 2018, 05:04:28 PM
Korea agreed to give a green signal to cryptocurrency and I do think that nothing is impossible people could easily do anything for legalizing the Bitcoins because there could be some underworld Don or something involved in this .. with his huge amount of money invested in Bitcoins.

This way that man could have been a good target..
People do anything for money and that wouldn't surprise me if it was true.

Reading deeper into it and finding more articles, it seems like the death was solely stress-induced. Most likely no foul play here.

Next day, South Korea' Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) governor, has announced that the country will not be turning away from cryptocurrencies, reassured cryptocurrency exchanges that South Korea will allow cryptocurrency transactions. So, the only condition that stands between the buyer and the seller is a ‘normal transaction’. It means that users must use their real names in future purchases, a rule that was passed this year in January.

This is pretty interesting news too. I understand why they want the users to use their real name, but in a sense, I think that defeats half of the purpose of bitcoin. At least for the early users, anonymity was a pretty key part to the currency. As of now, I'm not sure if people still want that or if they just want to be able to use bitcoin as a "normal" currency, especially because so many new people are now invested in it.
299  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could this year's Bitcoin exceed its maximum of US$ 20,000? on: February 21, 2018, 07:11:56 AM
There are many investors who ask us daily if it is psoible that the Bitcoin flies to its maximum of US$ 20,000, or even a little more.

Looking at the graph below gives the expectation that a new bullish cycle will start.

https://criptotendencia.com/cotizacion-bitcoin-online/

What do you think?

We can't say it yet, bitcoin is still unpredictable and volatile we should not rely and depend on the graphs.Although predictions are not 100% accurate but imo there is a possibility that it will rise in the near future, but im not quite sure if how much will it get, maybe its more than 20k.

I agree. In terms of speculation, many people rely on graphs, but the fact of the matter is that all of these coins and their markets are so volatile. It's tough to put the actions of the markets into graphs to predict the future, and I think this was very well shown when the huge drop came into play. Many people were saying that bitcoin was going to go down, but just as many were proposing that it would continue an upward trend, all without much evidence.

I think it's possible that the lightning network could spread some good news around about bitcoin. There could also be more places that allow people to use bitcoin in place of actual money. The United States' Arizona has a lot of proponents for paying for taxes using bitcoin. That could help out too.
300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Transaction Missing? on: February 21, 2018, 07:04:06 AM
My wallet is not showing the withdrawal transaction ?
And my account balance is deduct
Please suggest me how to resolve it?

Welcome to these forums, because it seems you're new.

Bitcoin transactions take time to confirm. That's the reason you send the miners fee. When the transaction is being added to the blockchain, it also gets confirmations. This basically ensures that you won't be able to take back the transaction, allowing for full security for both the seller and the buyer. If you have more issues, you should check out some other technical guides around here.

If you want to see how many confirmations you have, you can take the transaction ID and put it into this link:

https://blockchain.info/tx/[PUT ID HERE]
