281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XENIX [POW/POS][X11] on: December 17, 2016, 04:20:36 PM
I have done it privately in ccex. On the forum it's not the same. I also have a small pool to work

no. just describe the changes to the code you've made.
the fact that you're being hush about it (instead of just forking the original github repo and adding your changes) is a worry.

or y'know, just saying what the changes are.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XENIX [POW/POS][X11] on: December 17, 2016, 04:07:22 PM
The dev does not answer and does nothing
I made the change on my pool for a long time and since I'm sync on the official explorer as well as on nova

feel free to share the change, i'm interested to see what it is for sure.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fucking Chinese - Part 2 on: December 17, 2016, 03:32:58 PM
What do you suggest that we can do about it? It's not bitcoin's protocol fault that the chinese are lucky enough to be in a position where they get tons of cheap ass electricity. So unless you manipulate the protocol and intervene, it is what it is and we can do nothing about it, unless of course you want to start applying interventionist politics and start regulating the marketcap like I said before.

Nothing to do with their cheap electricity.

The issue isn't so much the electricity, or the effective monopoly they have over there with the mining equipment, or the laggy GFC.. its the utter dishonesty displayed by the majority of the players over there. Mining each others headers (Antpool, F2pool, BW, BTCC, VIABTC all do it), submitting empty blocks, block withholding (particularly antpool), scavenging to include only the tx's with the best fees. It's actually embarrassing for most, but they don't care, its a living for them.

They don't play by the rules, its dishonest and to be blunt, cheap.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XENIX [POW/POS][X11] on: December 17, 2016, 03:06:26 PM
Was a fork ever chosen? I thought people where getting on the c-cex chain to send coins? is other exchange still on another chain?

actually those checkpoints secure the blockchain (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=194078.0) to prevent additional chains with really fast asics

now the chain used by ccex and dutch-mining is off of the "official" one, but thats another matter

if one wants to sync to the official chain i suggest using the addnodes provided by nova
the other way round use those by ccex

well aware of the reasons for having checkpoint blocks, just as well as their potential for abuse.

Code:

for the sake of being a team player, rather than a dick; check the 'hyucks' above. some debug code i've thrown in whilst attempting to sync against the 'official' nodes.

block 4 needs to be 1e09a06c, but in xenixblockchain.com; it is listed as 1e0340da
c-cex has been on the correct chain from the start; not sure what happened with nova.

one page back.
novaexchange runs a chain that doesnt currently sync with any source.

just tried (2 minutes ago, with official dev source https://github.com/xenixcoin/xenixcoin.git):

i've forked the existing repo, fixed it and it syncs to c-cex's chain in minutes (https://github.com/barrystyle/xenixcoin.git).
even dev's own repo will sync to c-cex's chain if sufficient nodes are available.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOON] Mooncoin: You know where it's headed! KGW exploit FIXED 4/3/2014 on: December 17, 2016, 02:49:10 PM
Good news will be announced on December, 30, the 3rd anniversary of Mooncoin,
regarding exchanges: of course it's important to have MOON listed on big exchanges, however if you don't want to sell your coins asap, there are more important things to do in the near future, e.g. building real Mooncoin infrastructure - a good task for 2017.
Infrastructure? Switch finally to federatedblockchain.eu.org (read the whitepaper) and
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=901605.msg17196473#msg17196473

Greetz
Steve

so essentially, you're describing ditching mooncoin's own native blockchain and either encapsulating it into your chain/turning it into a token?

we've already seen several rocky roads ahead of ethereum (DAO fork, upcoming PoS chain announcements), if this is your chosen method of implementation.
what happens if your chain suffers a failure?

SO, Who wanna tell me where is my XEN? C-cex said they sent coins already then Nova said they did not receive anything. What  am i going to do now? Where is my coins now?

stupid thing happened in shit coin
same with me
and ccex said https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1665818.msg17167859#msg17167859

and dev xenix is shitt never reply in here ..fucckk u

they're where you sent them.

the past few pages in this thread are entirely about the fact c-cex and novaexchange are using different chains (c-cex one is correct). chalk this up to a life lesson and read next time.
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fucking Chinese - Part 2 on: December 17, 2016, 02:18:33 PM

haha..

What has this pic to do with Chinese or China?

edit: you can only mean the chinese watch, I got it. Sry.

the protagonist (the watch wearer in the picture); is chinese, as evidenced by his numerous mentions in southpark (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_recurring_South_Park_characters#Tuong_Lu_Kim).
dont be 'that' guy man, honestly.
288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fucking Chinese - Part 2 on: December 16, 2016, 05:32:14 AM
That's the problem with PoW, for sure Satoshi was not thinking about ASICs when he make the coin. And chinese or not, there's a lot of wasted electricity wasted on mining, on the other side some people don't have electricity.

Stealing? lol hope they stay in jail.

Satoshi used FPGAs (arguably less energy efficient) early on to find a large quantity of blocks.

Just go to coinmarketcap and go on xenix explorer.
Or on the first page of bitcointalk
And go on the official explorer
All the blocks miner on my pool we were paying

i dont doubt that you are; but you're on an invalid chain.
whats an 'official block explorer'?

mine hasnt been deemed as royalty yet, has yours?
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XENIX [POW/POS][X11] on: December 15, 2016, 04:08:03 PM
there you go c-cex

Thank you.

Synced to block 972 with blockhash 00000000000da716555b0167a05b9cd0fa44c99292db1d747d8a0da5ff9c4333

Wallet is open for deposits and withdrawals.

awesome work c-cex; all balances have appeared Smiley
what we thought was a swift maneuver was just an exchange being careful.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XENIX [POW/POS][X11] on: December 15, 2016, 04:01:50 PM
The good block is 1843

other than disagree, you've provided no basis for the 'good' block being 1843.
i've debugged your code for you, corrected it and put on my github, given good sound reasoning as to why your chain is invalid and i've attempted to help your cause by getting a good known source out to the public.

you don't change source code, modify nSubsidy, retarget algo (whatever you did) about 3 blocks into a coin launch; its just dodgy and noone will believe its for the greater good.

with all that being said; better run home and tell yo mumma.

Synced to what chain / height?

the correct chain (block 961), at this second.
i say the correct chain, as the other chain is invalid (block 3 PoW incorrect).

Thanks barry.  How you been my aussie brother?!?!

Smiley good man,
still using those antminers to save heating cost over winter Smiley
good to see you around bud

295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XENIX [POW/POS][X11] on: December 15, 2016, 01:25:34 PM
So what do the miners want? Wich chain to follow?
Because of the problems syncing to the "official" chain.
I suggest we follow chain with blockheight now ~956.
If not please provide proper source and nodes.

https://github.com/barrystyle/xenixcoin

modified pre-checkpoint with two 'honest' nodes set as seeds.
have fun all.

Yobit is a good trading platform. Why not try to get Moon on there? I trade iCoin on there and think that it is a very reliable platform.

Wink

You never get fast updates there...But if u can handle that, why not?

Greetz
Steve

Yobit is the internets arsehole of cryptocurrency.
No quicker way to kill an altcoin.

No thanks.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XENIX [POW/POS][X11] on: December 15, 2016, 12:15:16 PM
We just update our wallet to latest from github but it does not sync. It was able to get 3 blocks and then stop. We tried to sync from scratch with fresh wallet.dat - same issue.

Here is what happening in debug.log for freshy launched wallet with empty data dir:

SetBestChain: new best=00000f8923e2585d5cbd  height=1  trust=2097154  blocktrust=1048577  date=11/08/16 17:38:49
ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED
received block 00000047b8d42ab011bc
SetBestChain: new best=00000047b8d42ab011bc  height=2  trust=3145731  blocktrust=1048577  date=11/21/16 05:06:15
ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED
received block 0000004b8b45189977df
SetBestChain: new best=0000004b8b45189977df  height=3  trust=4194308  blocktrust=1048577  date=11/21/16 05:08:17
ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED
received block 000000299fe41f7a5aa0
ERROR: AcceptBlock() : incorrect proof-of-work
ERROR: ProcessBlock() : AcceptBlock FAILED

After that it disconnects from node and does not get any new block. Anybody can suggest a solution?

About all deposits sent to C-CEX wallet. They are all valid and will be registered once we will be able to sync.

Code:
git clone https://github.com/xenixcoin/xenixcoin.git
cd xenixcoin
git checkout 4f64992f5d
cd src/leveldb
chmod +x build_detect_platform
make clean
make libleveldb.a libmemenv.a
cd ..
make -f makefile.unix -j4
strip xenixd

root@harry:/usr/xenixcoin/src# ./xenixd -server -daemon -rpcuser=barrystyle -rpcpassword= -rpcbind=127.0.0.1 -rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 -datadir=datadir getmininginfo

there you go c-cex; currently at block 956 with no extra prodding.
dev's own nodes are giving out incorrect proof of work at block 3, but this gets ignored quickly as other legitimate hosts step in with the correct block data.

ready... go!

FYI 'git checkout 4f64992f5d' takes you to the source tree before bad checkpoints added by dev.
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SUPERCOIN'S REVIVAL on: December 15, 2016, 09:02:38 AM
from scratch it was only up to 344,000 blocks..
slightly more difficult to download directly to a shell with mega.nz, but got it going.. cheers mate!

https://github.com/xenixcoin/xenixcoin/commit/a65b401d2011fbddfd2dc0e0827e17c8a22efb53

Added checkpoints of 1000 and 1500, sneaky little fuck.
World is only currently at 918.

Sounds like a bit of 'lets find blocks but not announce them to the world'.

Eagerly waiting for the new client. Appreciate all your hard work barrysty1e.
Keep waiting.... it takes a few minutes to make the client from the source code...barrystyle is just an other wannabe developer.
My wish for the new year....let the original developer take back SUPER and make it SUPER again
Jeez mate; for a while there i thought you'd become one of the good guys, shame.. now fuck off.

All,
Have just found Amazon shut down both my Super/Supercoinplus nodes in the midst of a rental disagreement (not to mention my Bitcoin node, as well as practically everything else). You may have noticed the main reliable node thats been around for the past few months, has disappeared.
Not an issue; as Linode are fantastic, however for the Crosschain sends to work (good luck coding something like that proinvestor), I need to stand up a SuperCoin node with -txindex and block explorer which takes literally a week on its own.
Does someone have a copy of the blockchain already indexed this way handy?
Or is this going to be an extra long week  Angry
