281  Economy / Exchanges / Re: C-CEX.com Trusted, Secure & Friendly Exchange Since 2013. 200+ Alts,USD,Low Fees on: December 07, 2017, 12:12:51 AM
Withdrawal of ETH -3.10057502 never shows up on the block chain.

Where is my ETH!!!

It's been 48 hours!

there are issues with eth and all eth tokens in all exchanges. it's the eth network having problems - not the exchanges....
282  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is coinbase a safe wallet on: December 06, 2017, 12:55:28 PM
I think coinbase is a safe wallet. My only issue with coinbase is the speed of transactions or the time it takes for transactions to get confirmed (bitcoin/litecoin). Other than that, it's all good.
283  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best exchange for beginners? on: December 06, 2017, 12:50:10 PM
For beginners, i'd say cryptopia is a good choice but lately, the fees there have been higher compared to other exchanges. Some are suggesting poloniex, but there are issues about withdrawals there or something. So, maybe try bittrex. I think that it's a decent exchange for you to begin with.

286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Would governments be less aversive of bitcoin if it were backed by gold? on: December 05, 2017, 04:46:25 PM
I may get ridiculed for asking this, but, if bitcoin was gold-backed or backed by anything tangible that produces value, then maybe governments wouldn't be so aversive of its use?

If, for example, bitcoin gets backed by gold, or platinum, or oil, how would it affect bitcoin price? (Believe me, while typing this up, I feel like my question sounds dumber with every character typed.... can one commodity be backed by another  Huh  Undecided. )

I believe that bitcoin can stand alone as a very valuable commodity/currency because I believe that data is valuable. But not everyone can see that or understand that idea.

The gold standard has been been ditched by many countries but many people still don't seem to realize that bank notes now are just backed by promises and goodwill.... most still believe that banknotes are not just paper because its value is tied to a precious metal reserve. sadly, government leaders, bankers, and businessmen influencing people's perceptions want to keep it that way -- so as to keep the majority from breaking out of poverty?
287  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why people are unhappy? on: December 04, 2017, 02:23:39 PM
People are unhappy because of discontentment. There's discontentment with what is owned, with body image, with lifestyle, etc. But not everyone is like that. If you know yourself, accept yourself, accept that you only live once so you'll do everything that is right, that is easy, that is helpful, that is true, then that will make you happy, then you won't be unhappy.
288  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why People Are Not Honest. on: December 04, 2017, 02:18:25 PM
Can I ask why people are not honest. As in, why is it that people don't keep to their words even when they can do so? Can't I just do business with someone without signing papers and get lawyers and witnesses and still keep to my words? Can't we get trustworthy people anymore?

Depends on how they were brought up and it also depends on their convictions/values. First ask yourself. Are you trustworthy? Think of scenarios that will test you especially in terms of money and other valuables. And if you were in a dire situation, would you be honest and keep to your word - provided that you borrowed some money without witnesses or contracts to sign? Would you pay up? If your answer is yes, perhaps you'll attract the same person as you and they'll have the same values as you do.

290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOA Coin - your travel cryptocurrency on: December 03, 2017, 03:29:00 AM
Great Chart Gallery of TOA Coin on BitScreener: https://bitscreener.com/coins/toacoin/chart_gallery

that's against usd, which is an illusion because bitcoin price is going up and so its dollar value follows. but what about against btc? the toa-btc chart will show  you otherwise. hope that visit to the US can help boost toa's bitcoin price up. it's now trading at 110 sats and going down
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminality and Bitcoin on: December 03, 2017, 01:44:18 AM
In my opinion, there will always be criminality regardless of what medium of value is used.

Bitcoin is in the spotlight now because it's unique, remarkable, heavily hyped in the news because of it's price/value, and easier to move compared to banknotes.... so authorities are alarmed because it will be more difficult to catch perpetrators.

I think maybe what makes authorities more disconcerted is the fact that the amount of equivalent cash moved at the time the crime was made can double or rise many folds so the criminals loot is worth more than when they originally were! They end up taking more to finance whatever other nefarious activity they have planned and that is indeed scary...

Hence, other large crimes involving fiat and other assets become overlooked because of the marvel of bitcoin.

292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why some country banned bitcoin? on: December 03, 2017, 01:05:28 AM
bottom line is because they can't believe that ordinary people are earning so much through bitcoin and other crypto assets, and that they can't impose any taxes or apply sneaky corrupt practices to get a portion of what bitcoin users own....
293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS THERE A WAY TO KEEP BITCOIN FROM GOVERNMENTAL CONTROL? on: December 03, 2017, 12:45:04 AM
I'm with everyone here who has explained to you that it will be impossible to regulate bitcoin. But what the government can do is scare users of bitcoin. For example, in the US, a newly proposed legislation may criminalize those who conceal ownership of cryptocurrencies (https://news.bitcoin.com/proposed-u-s-legislation-may-criminalize-those-who-conceal-bitcoin/)

That way, they have control over those who use bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, hoping to "combat money laundering and the financing of terrorists".

But those who believe in privacy will continue to use bitcoin. With this news, every diligent user in the cryptoverse will be watching this closely and see how other countries will respond. If it becomes a law, what can we do? Anyway, it's still too early to tell, and maybe we'll cross the bridge when we get there?
294  Local / Pamilihan / Re: BTC withdrawal fee @ Exchanges on: December 02, 2017, 12:06:10 PM

295  Local / Pamilihan / Re: BTC withdrawal fee @ Exchanges on: December 02, 2017, 11:49:14 AM

Cryptopia. Nagtransfer ako ng 0.128 btc...
296  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is about to reach 11,000 again on: December 02, 2017, 06:11:19 AM
It just did. And then slid back to 10,900 something usd and consolidating in that range. Now waiting for it to break past 11,500++  Smiley exciting times ahead!

Noted, masaya yan! Sasama ako jan.
298  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Payag ba kayo maging Cardless community ang Pinas ? on: December 02, 2017, 06:04:41 AM
Anong cardless? Walang debit card? Walang credit card? Medyo malabo yun. Anong ibang bansa ang cardless? Even mobile phones have apps that function as bank cards for payment purposes, Apply Pay and Android Pay, etc.

299  Local / Pilipinas / Re: REPOST : Filipinos warned vs bitcoins, cryptocurrencies on: December 02, 2017, 03:14:48 AM
the government is always against anything that they cannot control. bankers, traditional and old oligarchs, businessmen are also against anything that will pose as a threat to their control of wealth. but the good thing about this warning is that, be wise with your investment. bitcoin is still considered a commodity and anyone who gets into bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency in general, should do their due diligence to educate themselves about crypto and the cryptoverse. to invest only that amount that they are ready to lose, and to be prepared for anything that could disrupt crypto markets....
300  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Do we want our own coin? on: December 02, 2017, 03:03:42 AM
Or something similar to that. Depende na kung hindi pa taken by next year, baka may kumuha at mauna, wala naman copyright o trademark protection sa mga ganyan, unahan lang.

I'm leaning more towards your number 2, kasi there is no way to "regulate" the price, supply and demand yan, at depende sa exchange rate. You can't peg it to a fiat currency unless you do something like tether, at hindi ko alam kung pano gawin yun (at baka sila mismo gagawa ng ganun.) Let the coin grow in value organically. Meron na ako mga specs in mind, pero for sure, tataas ang value ng coin over time basta continuous and development and promotion.

How about BayanCoin, FilipinoCoin, Pilipinas coin, Maharlika.... dapat ba laging may nakadugtong na "coin"? Parang ethereum, decred, golem, walang nakadugtong na "coin"....
