2801  Other / Archival / Re: Deposit to Binance unconfirmed after 48hours using Android Bitcoin Wallet on: February 07, 2021, 10:22:48 PM
I assume that I will have to send as "priority"? I believe this is the highest fee I can do use this android wallet right?

The priority will not be enough, it will probably just check the total of the highest paying 1MB worth of transactions and adds a few sats on top, which won't be enough in your case, of course, it will speed up the stuck transaction by a lot, but don't expect to get 1-5 block confirmation. I have not used this wallet but they mention "Full control over fees" on their website, which means if you dig a little you would find "custom" fees or something like that.

With that being said, if that isn't an option, you could either use a different wallet that lets you do so (assuming you have the keys to this wallet) or just use the priority option and wait for a few hours/days. Although since this is a relatively small amount ( compared to the fees you will have to pay) you could just ignore this transaction and send the "new funds" directly to Binance to do whatever you were planning to do with the old transaction.
2802  Other / Archival / Re: Deposit to Binance unconfirmed after 48hours using Android Bitcoin Wallet on: February 07, 2021, 09:51:04 PM
Conversely, given how full the mempool is with low fee transactions, and it showing no sign of clearing down to 2.5 sats/vbyte anytime soon, you could be waiting for a week or more for your transaction to confirm, or it might never confirm at all and be dropped from the mempool.

I see over a 100MB of the transaction with fees above 3 sats/byte, chances are his transaction will eventually drop in two weeks or so. Cry

OP, your only two options are CPFP and paid transaction accelerators such as Viabtc and Poolin, you need to run the math for both and see if any of those options makes economical sense to you, if not which is more likely - patience is king.

So if I would deposit let's say 50$ on my android wallet and send that 50$ to another wallet (for example binance) with a good fee, miners would pick up the transactions and they will confirm?

The current priority fee is 100 sat/byte, you paid 2.5 sat per byte for a 369-byte transaction so that's a total of 0.00000932 BTC, so you are short of 0.000369 BTC, paying 100 sat/byte for the child transaction won't guarantee your transaction to go through, you need to add that extra missing 0.000369 BTC so that the average fee of both transactions is 100 sats/byte.
2803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So lets talk honest now about btc on: February 07, 2021, 09:25:54 PM
How does this thing can make me rich ?

Bitcoin is a great hedge against many things" almost everything you can possibly own".  So if you store your wealth in fiat it's almost guaranteed to lose value over the years, the other alternatives are either hard to actually own or can be owned but cost a lot to store, this gives bitcoin a huge advantage over everything else including gold, so in other words, even if you don't view bitcoin as a decentralized "be your own bank" invention, it's very naive to not see it as a great hedge against inflation.

By owning Bitcoin you can be sure to a great extent that in the coming years your wealth is going to be at least the same if not worth a lot more as opposed to owning fiat, and since Bitcoin has a very smaller market cap compared to the other "options" such as gold, it has a lot of room to outperform gold on the scale of probabilities, obviously, it's safer to just own gold but you will, in theory, be rewarded for the extra risk of owning bitcoin against gold or any other more stable/safer hedge.

As for becoming ultra-rich by investing in bitcoin, I am afraid you are a few years late to the party, diminishing returns is a real thing, and the days of investing $1000 to turn it into 1M in a few years are long gone, but that does not mean you can't become richer, it's just that you will need say 20M to get 100M in say 5-10 years, but if you don't already have that much - then there is probably no hope.

Remember BTC isn't a wealth making machine, people are expecting too much from BTC and I believe it's naive at best.
2804  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S19 an S19 Pro REG_TYPE = 1 ERROR. on: February 07, 2021, 08:43:36 PM
I've tried everything. I've updated the firmware, tried different power supplies, different control boards, etc. Nothing helps.

All of this is irrelevant if the voltage is outside of the 200-240v range, you mentioned that it works just fine with a single board plugged in, which also suggests that the PSU isn't capable of running all 3 hash boards, this is either caused by a bad PSU or bad voltage, since you tried different PSUs then it's most likely voltage issue.
2805  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S19 Pro Randomly Stops working with no Kernel Errors on: February 07, 2021, 07:31:04 PM
Please use the code tag to paste kernel logs, my take on this issue is that you damaged all those 20 PSUs by feeding them improper voltage or any other electrical related issue, the PSU acts differently when plugged elsewhere gives more strength to the theory, to confirm/deny this theory use a PSU which has not been plugged in that "bad" area of the farm on one of the "bad" miners, obviously, the test should be done in a different outlet/area, chances are it will work perfectly fine, if not -- then there is even worse news, which I doubt for now.
2806  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S17 Pro no longer hashing. Bad ASICs ? on: February 07, 2021, 07:01:29 PM
I'm under the impression 50TH is not interchangeable with 53TH. All I could tell is the difference in power draw.

I have reasons to believe that this isn't the case, just to stay on topic I rather not mention them here, but I can tell you one thing, it's probably the product ID difference, The 17 pro version has like 3 different product id's, not sure what the reference but it seems like it does reference a certain format in the hex stored on some microchip on each of those hash boards. So if you mix two boards with different product id's the control board will refuse to turn on both of them, you could check the kernel log and you will find the product ID represented in something like so

Code:
2021-02-05 14:12:04 driver-btm-api.c:589:get_product_id: product_id[0] = 0
2021-02-05 14:12:04 driver-btm-api.c:589:get_product_id: product_id[1] = 0
2021-02-05 14:12:04 driver-btm-api.c:589:get_product_id: product_id[2] = 0

Or/And hexadecimal values on the PIC fw version:

Code:
2021-02-05 14:12:08 board.c:40:jump_and_app_check_restore_pic: Check chain[0] PIC fw version=0xb9
2021-02-05 14:12:11 board.c:40:jump_and_app_check_restore_pic: Check chain[1] PIC fw version=0xb9
2021-02-05 14:12:15 board.c:40:jump_and_app_check_restore_pic: Check chain[2] PIC fw version=0xb9

If the hash boards have any different values, then they need some work done before they can mine using the same control board.

Please post the kernel log (I think it's has a different name on the Baikal Giant) as well as a screenshot of the miner status page, saying they "will not hash" without enough explanation will unlikely yield any proper answers.
2808  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2021, time for a new general & diff speculation thread... on: February 07, 2021, 09:20:26 AM
The last couple of blocks were mined really fast, and we got a 2.9% adjustment, which isn't bad at all given that bitcoin price managed to get back to the 40k levels, which might also result in a slightly higher adjustment if it was to maintain these levels, current status:

Current Pace:   107.0920%  (198 / 184.89 expected, 13.11 ahead)
Previous Difficulty:   20823531150111.52
Current Difficulty:   21434395961348.92
Next Difficulty:   between 21708305436850 and 22987254880360
Next Difficulty Change:   between +1.2779% and +7.2447%
Previous Retarget:   Yesterday at 4:22 AM  (+2.9335%)
Next Retarget (earliest):   February 19, 2021 at 6:07 AM  (in 11d 18h 56m 3s)
Next Retarget (latest):   February 20, 2021 at 12:13 AM  (in 12d 13h 1m 45s)
Projected Epoch Length:   between 13d 1h 44m 56s and 13d 19h 50m 38s

The current pase is at 7% but obviously, we are still very early into this round, let's see how February treats us.
2809  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Energy use: computational effort vs cooling on: February 07, 2021, 09:04:35 AM
I am afraid you are a little bit too late, Bitmain already has their Antrack , Canaan also have their own, both solutions eliminate the need for air cooling altogether.

The liquid cooling will most likely consume a bit less energy than air cooling, but its initial cost could (most of the time) make it a lot less attractive, it's like solar vs grid, it's cheaper to run solar, but not everyone does so.

This whole mining business is probably going to come to an end in a few years, so unless someone is gambling with investor's money or have no clue about what they are doing - they would want to minimize their cost as much as possible, if I would ROI the liquid cooling investment in say a year or less, it would make sense, but if that takes me 5 or 10 years, I rather not,  so in other words, if I save $100 on energy per month but have to pay $10,000 for the liquid cooling infrastructure, it means I have to wait for 8 years to start receiving the rewards of my investments, do I want something like that? hell, no.

There MUST be other reasons added to the small potential energy-saving to justify the cost, those include but not limited to noise reduction and better cooling, but if I don't care about the noise and I know the chips I have will likely die "economically" faster than "physically" then even the better cooling aspect is worthless, of course, to someone who has a lot of free energy but he must keep the noise level very low, they would want to have a liquid-cooled farm.
2810  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 257 blocks solved! on: February 06, 2021, 11:26:30 AM

LOL, not even sure if this a serious "accusation" or just a "joke" I surely don't have the greatest sense of humor.Roll Eyes, however, if you carefully read my post and the one which I replied to, you will see that I dropped a bomb of possitvity and optimism and explained "in some detail" how solo mining chances are not all that bad compared to the lotto as opposed to what has been mentioned in the post I quoted.

With that being said, I am sure you are not a newbie just as sure as I am of that fact that I am nowhere near experienced, we all are here to learn (maybe except for the other person you compared me to Grin).
2811  Economy / Reputation / Re: Long-time sig campaign farm ID'd via single wallet transaction on: February 06, 2021, 11:03:03 AM
I won't lie but i loved conversations with exstasie/figmentofmyass/squatter. They were extremely useful and helpful users of bitcointalk.

Do you know what's even more ironic? I have always liked exstasie but I didn't really enjoy reading figmentofmyass's posts, it's "incredible" how one person may seem like a few, he indeed did a better job than "Kevin in the movie Split".

2812  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S19 an S19 Pro REG_TYPE = 1 ERROR. on: February 05, 2021, 06:06:50 PM
Sounds like a PSU related issue, what is the voltage you feeding the power supply of?

Keep in mind that while the latest firmware might fix it, it will be a lot harder to get rid of it, i heard that someone already found a way to uninstall the stock firmware and there is no confirmation on that yet, the latest firmware would in theory be even more difficult assuming they patched the first one.
2813  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: ERROR POWER LOST on the Test Fixture on: February 05, 2021, 10:42:05 AM
You have to extract it from a working hash board, you might be lucky enough to find it online but i would bet against that.

If you don't have a good hash board to use then simply make a new topic and ask if someone can send it to you.
2814  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 257 blocks solved! on: February 05, 2021, 03:54:41 AM
I don't need to argue these facts with you

Well, you just did, I explained to you, the other members explained the matter in a different way but you still think that you are correct, it's sad that someone who registered here back in 2014 lacks a basic understanding of mining actually works, but if you feel good about yourself - it all that matters, numbers and law of physics are irrelevant.

Assuming I join solo.ckpool.org for solo mining, what risks are still present *except*

- the money I spend in hardware (including breakage)
- the money I spend in power

Other than the obvious like your miner catching fire and all the stuff that you probably already know, there only risk is the power bill and the cost of the mining gear.

Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you Smiley

There are solid gears and some low-quality gears, you want to get the ones that can survive, not S9k, S9se, avoid the 17 series of bitmain altogether, just search the forum you'll find a lot of topics that discuss mining gears quality and robustness.
2815  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: ERROR POWER LOST on the Test Fixture on: February 05, 2021, 12:43:33 AM
i recently has this error. anyone can help me?

exactly i copied data from one hashboard to other hashboard and this issue happened.

What data did you copy from one hashboard to another?? do you mean the DSPIC32 hex ? Zeusbtc also talk about the possibility that their own tool could result in an incompatible "code" and they have a tool to fix that, I think you can manage the same fix with PICKIT 3 (check the first topic I referenced).
2816  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 stopped working after unplugging and plugging it back in. on: February 03, 2021, 10:14:14 PM
You are right i was accessing a cashed site. I seem to have been able to somehow reset it to factory firmware but its still not mining.

How did you reset it? post a screenshot of the system over, or copy these details

Code:
Kernel Version	Linux 3.14.0-xilinx-g16220c3 #83 SMP PREEMPT Thu Jul 12 11:42:53 CST 2018
File System Version Fri May 31 10:59:27 CST 2019
Logic Version V1.3.22

Keep in mind that when you reset the miner your pool info will likely be deleted so make sure you enter them again.
2817  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 stopped working after unplugging and plugging it back in. on: February 03, 2021, 09:35:03 PM
It does not seem like you are accessing the miner, looks like a cashed page to me, can you try a different broswer?

Anyway, the first thing you have to do would be to get rid of the firmware, I am not sure about the uninstallation of HiveOS  but an Sdcard flash should do the trick, please follow this guide https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019493654-S9-series-S9-S9i-S9j-S9-Hydro-Control-Board-Program-Recovery.

2819  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S17 Pro Help, Miners Keep Restarting on: February 02, 2021, 11:57:58 PM
Query: Are the miners and laptop using DHCP or static IP addresses? If they are static addresses perhaps the laptop is using the same address as your router or a miner and causing a conflict somewhere.

This is a good point but based on this theory and regardless of his set-up the worst result that would come out of an IP conflict would be 1 miner going offline, also if the laptop was using the gateway address as its own IP it can't possibly affect the router the way OP describes.

It's most likely this

Were you using too much bandwidth on your laptop so some machines were dropping hash on dev fee and then they would restart? Or did your laptop just idle?

Just the laptop getting on the network would cause the problems. it wasn't using any bandwidth, it just logged on.

If it's logged in then it's connected to the network, and thus is using bandwidth, I would refrain from using the word bandwidth to clear a lot of confusion, and let's call it "traffic", there is an on-going connection between the laptop and the router as long as they are connected, even if it was sitting there doing nothing, also, it could be doing something in the background such as windows/antivirus update, unless you closely monitor the router's inbound and outbound traffic you can't tell.

With that being said, if your laptop caused that then it's very likely that either your router or internet speed is pretty must at a critical level, so the slightest extra traffic will again cause the same issue, you might want to get a proper router and perbaps a better internet connection, you can't tell where the problem actualy is unless you troubelshoot it.

I have the same problem, plate chain(2) that does not start, you have an idea of the problem. thank you.

You have to post the complete kernel log, and a screenshot of the miner's status page. posts in old topics can be hardly spotted, you should start your own topic and provide all the details needed to troubleshoot it.

i have same problem with s9se 17 th. but suddenly i bring my home from farm(minifarm Grin) to test i realize it work in home no problem.

This could be a voltage issue, what is the voltage at home and at the farm? S9es PSU's aren't very sensitive to voltage, but if the PSU is bad and not yet dead then voltage drop will affect it, you may troubleshoot this by trying a different PSU in the farm.
