Newbie is my favorite... he has some sense of humor:

The neucoin complaining club smile
(...)

So what you're saying is, i should have waited to buy neucoin AFTER the launch at a LOWER price!

NOT complaining any more "I'M OUT, SOLD ALL MY NEUCOIN" i think i will set up an "i'm out" club and charge 1 neucoin to enter. payments can be sent to the following address Ni75VFjLspzZAWPWZ2mr8AVJPCWgT2Byck we will have all kind of things to do and will have fun and things, please join today!
http://forum.neucoin.org/t/the-neucoin-complaining-club/1965

I'll buy 1 NEU to get into his "I'm out - Club"  Cheesy

Edit: The minimum order size is .00050000.... I would have to buy 16 NEU. Too much... I wouldn't know what to do with the other 15. Cheesy
2803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NeuCoin - Easy to use, free to try, focused on micropayments - Official on: October 17, 2015, 11:28:07 PM
Does anybody know how much Coins that are? Thousands? Hundredthousands?

5 million Grin

o   approximately 5 million NeuCoins will be distributed no later than October 23 that were earned for taking surveys prior to launch (the actual number will depend on the number of survey-takers who pass through the user verification process)

Oh wow... that's a lot more than I expected. They should begin to build some buy-support for it. At the current price of 0.000029 that would be 145 BTC.

Will be interesting to see what they'll do. I bet: They won't give out 5 Mio Coins. I don't expect that they'll give out just 1 Mio. But if they do it, the price will drop before.

This thread becomes more and more interesting:

http://forum.neucoin.org/t/neucoin-price-down/1962

Pretty funny.

One guy suggesting that investors just buy more to try to prop up the price.

Yeah, buy when everyone else is selling.  Good idea.  Tongue

Darteous still a believer.

Others think we need more time to give nokoin a chance.

Yes, it's an interesting and entertaining Thread. If things go wrong in a project there are always three kind of Community-Members:

- real believers
- "unreal" believers... they don't show that they're concerned
- those who show their concerns

The thing about it is: Most of those who show optimism are concerned. Optimism in Neucoin is like music on the titanic.

Here is the next interesting question:

"Hi @Sandrine,

As we are approaching the one month mark, I was wondering if you could give an update as to how the survey and award coins will be distributed, how verification of claims for the coins will be done and such.

Thanks,

Copenman"

Does anybody know how much Coins that are? Thousands? Hundredthousands?

Will be fun to watch how they buy it back on the exchanges.
2805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: October 17, 2015, 08:57:03 PM
By the way: I tried to find out some informations about the potential... how much demand there could be for entrys. And the good thing is: Potential is nearly everywhere and I believe it will depend on the Applications that will be build on the system. I found this Animation about data-volume of known companies:

http://pennystocks.la/internet-in-real-time/

I don't know if that is precise, but "just" dropbox has incredible high rates of uploads. And sure, it's doubtful that Factom will has something like that in the near future, but on the other side the system is open for everything and every direction. So, maybe one day. I believe it's possible. And if we calculate the dropbox-uploads as entrys:

Per minute about 600,000
Per day: 864 Mio

864 Mio multiplied with $0.001 would be $864,000 per day for entrys.

And sure, that's more like a "fun-calculation" and Factom won't be a cloud-service. But it's open for nearly anything and very useful for a lot of Applications, cloud-services included. And I believe it has a lot more attraction than Bitcoin itself. At the moment we do mostly everything with credit-cards etc., so Bitcoin as payment-method is still a niche. But everybody and everywhere it's important to organize data and all kind of data.

So... the potential is huge and not just for some companies, also for normal users/private persons. With that being said: I believe, the price for EC's should stay cheap. I'm sure that it will grow fast if it's cheap.

And what's also interesting and will be exciting: The FCT-price won't be just about the reality. I won't reflect just the real value of the system at a moment. It will anticipate it. The price will react on every good news and at the same time a higher FCT-price won't have bad influence on the entry-volume. I really like that "two-step-system" from FCT's to EC's.
2806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: October 17, 2015, 08:07:56 PM
What I still don't understand is, what will happen to the "used" FCT's?

In the FAQ's they say, they won't get burned:

"No. The Entry Credits are burned. Entry Credits are non transferable. They can only be used to buy entries. But when they DO buy entries, the Factoid in the protocol that was used to buy the Entry Credits is released. The amount of Factoids varies since the price of Entry Credits per Factoid varies.

The Factoid paid out is calculated by dividing the total number of Factoid in the protocol by the number of outstanding Entry Credits.

The number of Factoids in the protocol and the number of outstanding Entry Credits are all computable from the Entry Chain and the Factoid Chain."

http://factom.org/faq

But in the reddit-conversation, Paul Snow says:

"Factom has both an inflation aspect (a fixed payment to the servers per peiod) and a deflation aspect (fees and conversions of factoids to entry credits remove factoids from the supply)."
https://www.reddit.com/r/factom/comments/3ozje2/eli5_what_are_factom_selling_when_they_sell/

Could somebody explain it more concrete what will happen to the FCT's after they were sold for EC's?

More an more are disappointed:

Neucoin price down
it would be nice if mods and devs would open their mouth about how we can keep the price UP. Not just talk when they were trying to sell the price at the presale and please don't piss on my head and tell me its raining talk about price not the future.......................... thank you. personally i think it is because people are mining then dumping for btc............

http://forum.neucoin.org/t/neucoin-price-down/1962

@Newbie: It's just because people are losing hope. They (most of them) know that when the price goes down with 100,000 on the free market and the Neu-Team has to buy on the market, and at the same time they're staking + 151,072,842 new Coins, there is not much possibility for a healthy recovery. The reason is simple: If the price should rise again, the Neu-Team has to distribute/sell Coins. They're holding most likely >98% and it's getting worse.

And at the same time there are some risks: What will happen with the survey-Coins? What will happen when the Angel and Seed - Investors get their restricted Coins?

The only possible reason for a high price would be a pump. But there is just one entity that could do that: The Team. Will they do that? They fear that many who bought it would take it as a opportunity to get out... Also: It would be obvious.

Under the line there is not that much hope and they know that and that's just one reason why they don't want to talk about all that and the price-question. The difference between this project and legit projects is: Legit projects will get better over time because of development and progress. Neucoin will get worse, because of the distribution, the inflation and the scam-impression.

The Holy Trinity: Blockchain, Medical Records and Wearable Tech

Technological advancements in this day and age are seen as both a blessing and a curse. Innovation is always heralded with anticipation and hesitation at the same time, leaving the door wide open for mass consumption of technology that isn’t properly protected. Recent innovations, such as wearable tech, might prove to be a security risk in the near future. While mass adoption of wearable tech will not happen just yet, protecting medical records is becoming a key point of focus.

Folks, you should look into Bob's Posts... figure out in which Coins he was, when he showed up and what happened after that and how many of these projects are still under development. If you do that you'll find a repeating pattern. ;-)

Your not supposed to use commas on numbers anyway, It seems to be an American thing. It is incorrect though

Nice wallet eh   Undecided

Ahah totally agree with you, spaces are way better and there is no confusion possible with it

Ahh, yeah..  spaces man. spaces are much better than commas, yeah. No confusion, much better.
Oh wait, there are no spaces man...

Until it doesn't work properly there should be questionmarks...

+15?095?000?108.628988 NEU

Would be a better WTF???-symbol ;-)

One question, what I still don't understand: Will it depend on the file seize how many entry-credits one will need or will it be the same if a document is, for example, 1 MB or 20 MB?

One per entry, always.

Not the files themselves are stored through Factom, but a hash. Merkle Magic is used to reduce any piece of data to a single hash. Then anyone can verify, using this hash, that the data existed in the point in time that the hash was put into the blockchain.

Factomise, baby !

Okay, thanks! But there is also the possibility to use the system like a network and giving others access to a document, right? For example: A Journalist works with another one in another country on an article. The first writes it and gives the other access so he could revise it... That'll also be possible, right? But also without storing it in the Factom-system itself, more like peer-to-peer..?
2814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: October 14, 2015, 02:03:32 PM
Volume likely bears to zero. Tomorrow will drop below 1 BTC perhaps. Notably, roadmap says the network of federated servers should have been rolled out by the end of q3 but from what im seeing there is only one 1 out of 8 servers so far. P2p consensus mechanism is expected to be revealed in q4, between oct and dec. They have less than 70 days till the end of the year to fulfill their promises on those two milestones. What if they gonna prolong their development till march or may, 2016 or beyond that? If so, it won't save the price, only extend the dying process cause there seem not to be any deep pockets supporting the price, look at the buy side, twin 20K dump could get it below 36K in a wink of an eye. Smells fishy to me, large team of coders, advisers and marketing gurus behind this coin, and nobody's worried about the price.

Our timelines have slipped.   Some tasks have turned out to be harder than expected.  Working on the consensus mechanism now.  Still optimistic we can come close to our deadlines.

The price of Factoids will recover with the introduction of applications running on the protocol.  We are a small team, but we are working hard to bring applications onto the blockchain.   Then as applications need entry credits, factoids get converted to entry credits, and leave the system.  The servers will be paid in Factoids, but only after the full system is up and running.  That means that until the full system is up and running, applications will drain the supply of Factom, and help the price.

The conversion of Factoids to Entry Credits is to be set to hold an Entry Credit around 0.1 cents USD.  We have not adjusted the exchange rate yet, but will be doing so I think on Friday.  From that point on, we will follow a procedure for maintaining the exchange rate.   If the value of Factoids continues to fall, more factoids will be required to use the protocol, and more factoids will be drained from the supply.   This should stabilize the price so that the value of Factoids reflects the value of the protocol.

Thank you for the update!

One question, what I still don't understand: Will it depend on the file seize how many entry-credits one will need or will it be the same if a document is, for example, 1 MB or 20 MB?

After several months and thousands of dollars, the "official" block-explorer has been put online.

Unfortunately it is not only ugly and unhandy but it is also buggy.

Look at that foundation address: Why did it receive 15 billion neucons, when only 3 billions were available in total?

Neucon: Where lies and incompetence go hand in hand.

Wow, nice. There was a time they were rich. ;-)

The new/official BE is very slow for me. The unofficial seems more practical.

But, to be fair, they have one pro: Good design. Sadly there is no quality behind.

Hey, remember "bi-weekly updates?"

Remember Sandrine used to say stuff?

Bi-weekly updates should be the least of nokoiners' concerns now.

Didn't Sandrine confidently state that
  • Auctions for gift cards for NeuCoin - giving users a useful way to shop at brand name merchants
like Amazon, iTunes, Google Play and Zynga from day one.

seems that even spyware-pig owned Jango, a second-rate payola ripoff of Spotify, is not taking his own shitcoins
Zero real world use

Publicly visible addresses and verifiable transactions
Second, all NeuCoin tokens owned by the foundations, as well as all restricted NeuCoins (whether owned
by founders, angel investors or service providers) will be held and mined in published addresses
clearly visible and verifiable on the NeuCoin blockchain.

Another shameless lie
So much for transparency huh??
What are they hiding??

Remember Dank?  Before your million dollars was in his pocket?  Haven't heard from him in a while.

Last time we heard from his official account was half year ago, now we just hear from his countless sock-puppet accounts (or not, if you hit Ignore like I do)
Hiding behind socks is a good sign that all his previous hubris has withered away
but there is zero chance you're going to be proven right that it was a scam.
For something that was supposedly "zero chance", I guess this thread has really been beating the odds  Grin

Plus: They need a lot of money...

- 1079 BTC in 18 days.
https://blockchain.info/address/3MrNuksZ1VePU3dGiSQFiouWerJUJgDkfH

There are some possible scenarios:

1. They need it to keep up the price, with other words they buy a lot below ICO-price
2. They need it for development and advertising
3. It goes into private

Problem with 1) If they have to buy back so much, how will they every be able to sell it? At which price? How distribute it when they've already staked 135 Mio new Coins the last 18 days? (total supply today: 3,135,884,335)

Problem with 2) If they really need that much money they will be broke in 2 months

Problem with 3) .....obvious....

Wasn't there another transparency-promise regarding the ICO-BTC?

If I would be invested I would be really pissed about that. Price goes down and they do little or nothing to show some progress but constantly transacting the ICO-BTC.

Ha ha ha!  Price crashing 25% inside of first month, and what does THE TEAM do?

Buy another "article" from some third world crypto hack and brandish (yet again) THE LIST OF NAMES!

http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/10/11/trusted-backers-makes-neucoin-more-trustable/

No other attributes, developments, deals signed, coding finished, no games, no decent wallet, no official blockchain explorer...just the list of names!

Pathetic.  This is what you get when a shady marketing team is running the show.  Marketing, and tired, repetitive, uncreative marketing at that.

Look at the names you sheep! Now with "More Trustableness"!  Buy some today at 25% off before it's 50% off by its 1 month birthday.

Neucoin:  it is a list of names.  Names of people in middle management at companies you might have heard of!  Trust the Names.  Do not look at reality or math.  The names you sheep.  Follow the names.  Bah!

Trustableness.  It's next to Truthyness.

Disgraceful.
http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/10/11/trusted-backers-makes-neucoin-more-trustable/

Advertising disguised as journalism.
Gola Yashu should be ashamed. Shill.
NEWSBTC should be ashamed.
Brock Pierce should be ashamed.

Brock Pierce should resign his Bitcoin Foundation chairmanship immediately. Shill.
Backing what is, to anyone who does any research, clearly a cash scam by nokoin.
My next project maybe.

"James" tells the real story in his reply there.

"In times when most of the digital currency projects grow up to be nothing but farce, new investors find themselves doubting even the ones that promises some potential. Over the years, Bitcoin has inspired many developers to experiment with its open source code to execute something really innovative. But, in reality, only a few have managed to really bring out technologies that can improve upon Bitcoin.

This is the only reason why a new cryptocurrency like NeuCoin will be faced with doubts initially. (...)"

Yeah, this is the ONLY reason.... Funny guys! Cheesy I see some desperation to make this kind of advertisement. ;-)
