2801  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin 101: Share an Unpopular Opinion you hold about Bitcoin with Newbies on: June 06, 2022, 01:50:52 PM
on this world, the only certain thing is that everything (including this world) will eventually turn into nothingness.
That will truthfully be supporting the theory of apocalypse and rightly so. There's so much evil in the world today. About the $1M mark for Bitcoin, I'm of the opinion that isn't likely to happen. This is because I believe with time in the near future, Bitcoin will lose steam to maintain that number one spot. Perhaps, that's the only unpopular view I've of Bitcoin at the moment.
2802  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 8 Mistake People Make When Investing In Crypto on: June 06, 2022, 10:37:07 AM
3, 6, and 7 were just me during my noob days. This day, I know better. I suspect that those too may be common with every newbie especially that of buying a crypto because it's cheap. That dealt heavily with me. When I look back now, I smile at my ignorance. I used to think then that every crypto was going to soar like Bitcoin was doing then. That was in 2017 and Bitcoin was having a good time. I felt it was also the right of others to enjoy the same massive run of Bitcoin. How dead wrong I was. I paid for that experience.
2803  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies and their Bounty scams on: June 06, 2022, 10:19:48 AM
Alot of newbies claim to be a BOUNTY MANAGER this days. To mention few:
1. Multiple Finance by Jerzei
2. Ani.Finance by AniFinance
3. Dhahab Sports token by DhahabSports
4. Fuloos token by FuloosIO
Next time, put a profile or thread link to a post like that. It helps to make it easily accessible in tracking those profiles. That said. My observation with your mentions is that those accounts are company accounts running the bounties. Most of these projects starting up new which hardly have enough capital like to run the bounties by themselves. So, it's left to those hunting bounties to either promote them or not. The danger in promoting this is that when the project fails or doesn't meet maturity or achieve its purpose, hunters are denied payment.

The campaign I'm currently promoting is a company account too and there isn't any issue with it.
2804  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scam increasing on social media on: June 06, 2022, 10:01:22 AM
If we're going to blame social media for the prevalence of scams this day, then we ought to blame radios and televisions for vices before the advent of social media decades ago. From the way I see this, I really don't want to solely blame social media for this, victims should also share in the blame too. Greed has always been the driving force why people fall prey to scam. Scammers know this, and latch on it. What do you expect when people want to reap where they didn't sow?

There is an ongoing one someone introduced a few people I know to. Though it doesn't require money (at least at this stage), they say it's mining of a phantom token called BTCS. I jeered at them and told them to jettison that idea that it was a bid to steal their identity. Those interested are asked to provide passports/national ID numbers with facial proof of ownership as verification. The token isn't even listed 😂😂. I told those who tried talking me into it that it was an identity theft type of scam but they argued with me. Went behind me to register. The project is so shameless that it's even using BTC logo. So, tomorrow, when it becomes clear to them that it was a scam all along; is anyone supposed to blame SM for that? Nah, of course.
2805  Other / Meta / Re: Post funny/clever usernames here on: June 05, 2022, 06:05:21 PM
May be there's a way theymos could clean all that up
I doubt he'd do that, as its pretty much laborious and there much better things to do such as countering spam which are part of the mods' tasks.
I'm just thinking out loud and wondering if that would be possible. I don't see much problem with doing that, honestly. BTW, I was referring to theymos and not mods. Another highlight of that would be only users with zero posts. It's a kind of revoking their rights to those accounts since it's been long they posted from them. I'm not a tech guy and I don't really know how (or if) that will be possible.
2806  Economy / Services / Re: I'll Pay $10 For Scam Exchanges on: June 05, 2022, 04:44:25 PM
If this is something you can do, contact me on Telegram @Cyberczar
If you've an offer, make it public here. There's no need for anyone to contact you via telegram for this, IMO..
2807  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mentor experience in crypto trading. on: June 05, 2022, 07:01:49 AM
I love Satoshi because he was a great mentor
Satoshi was never a mentor, may be not in the public eye and not here. Satoshi is better known as an inventor.

On a more serious note, mentorship can't be over emphasized. Though there are some who think they can bypass the process and do it all alone. They may get there, anyway, but it will take a longer process to achieve than they've a mentor. This is where wealth of experience comes in. Anyone mentoring you without experience shouldn't be referred to as a mentor. The basic thing mentorship does is direction on how to navigate a certain terrain. Without such, there's no point following anyone's lead.
2808  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wrong foot on bitcointalk on: June 05, 2022, 05:28:54 AM
Now that you've realized you started on a wrong footing with bounties, it's about time you moved on and away from it. You can start by deleting your bounty reports and posts if you've claimed your rewards from them. That will tidy up your post history. I don't think most of the community members like going through profiles that are taken up by bounty reports. For me, I don't. Even when I want to merit a user's other posts and I discover it has a lot of bounty reports and posts it pisses me off. Look at how easily you've received 4 merits for the short OP you've made and that's the highest you've got since you registered here in 2021. It goes to show how the community is ready to reward genuine users. So, buckle up and keep soaring henceforth.
2809  Other / Meta / Re: Post funny/clever usernames here on: June 04, 2022, 08:11:36 PM
Honestly, I never thought usernames like those existed until now. It's a wow moment. It looks like those early years at BTT were for cruise as most of those accounts aren't any more active. Perhaps they just registered, lurked for a while before disappearing. May be there's a way theymos could clean all that up and completely wipe them off the slate, especially those accounts with zero post. It will be fine to have fresh registrations with them names who will become active.
2810  Other / Meta / Re: How to change a text font within the forum on: June 04, 2022, 07:38:18 PM
I don't get it what text are you talking about that changed?

The image doesn't show anything it looks the same unless you talking about the bolded parts like your username?
Op is not saying of font size or weight, I think he is talking about font style. There is actually a difference between the two images in terms of font style. The later font is looking like open sans.
Frankly, I don't know if it's just me and my eyes playing tricks on me for I can't make out any difference between both pictures OP shared. Again, about a font type; I know everyone is restricted to Verdana. I'm cool with that. It's pleasant to the eyes. You don't want to have to adjust while reading like when users adjust font size and colour or when they use sup or sub texts. All those can hurt sensitive eyes. I like the homogeneity in font style and I believe it will stay that way a long time.

If your posts are full of bounty reports and thank you replies  you are definitely going on my ignore list.
You see how that goes to show that one man's meat, is another's poison? I, for one, won't put anyone under ignore for having only bounty posts or reports. Users like that are only out to make a living from the forum and are straight up about their intentions. I don't have any problem with that provided they're doing it legitimately. Besides, such users hardly write anything or try to cross fertilize ideas with other users except when they make complaints to their managers when they're cheated out of bounty rewards. Most times they even make that complain off forum. Users like that rarely visit any sections of the forum except that which concerns their bounties. For me, I don't even see how they become a problem to the point of ignoring them individually except one is going to put the whole board where they post under ignore.
2813  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Education is the Key on: June 03, 2022, 04:05:49 PM
When people are talking about that exact same outcome it doesn't always happen, the opposite is what will happen..
Like pepping spirits, walls have ears and market markers and manipulators are always listening; that's the logic that could explain why things go opposite. My thought on that, however, is that many people who chorus a particular market or price direction may not even be TA traders who actually take time to monitor charts. There are people who just want to chant what others say without knowing what informed it. Again, I believe that despite the fact that there's no perfect situation anywhere in the world and that charts may not always be accurate; it's not any wiser trading without them. Doing that is pure gambling.
2814  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies and eagerness lack of patience on: June 03, 2022, 01:24:01 PM
Life is a process ,there are stages in life...
I want to draw out something from that comment, while still not taking it out of context of the complete post. – Yes, life truly is in stages. The way we view things change as we age on. Certain things that were issues of excitement hardly move me this day, and I believe it's the same way with many here. There were things I didn't bother myself with which are now areas of concern to me.

The Top ranked member you see today once was a newbie ,they became what they are becasue they never give up ,they saw the need to put in more effort and more work not spamming their way up or shortcut ,it takes a whole process and stages.
About ranking up involving "process and stages", yes that's true. But about the top ranked members of the past seeing "the need to put in more effort and more work" isn't entirely true. Pre–2018, ranking up on this forum wasn't much an issue. All everyone needed do was just post and activity count is generated for rank up. It didn't matter whether one made constructive posts or not as such, provided one wasn't spamming outrightly.

Sometimes it feel like giving up ,my suggestion is take some few days off to calm then come back, when all effort seems waste ,take some time off and come back better.
That's the spirit to stay on and keep going. Quitters aren't winners.
2815  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounties and Airdrops on: June 03, 2022, 11:12:10 AM
OP, I don't know what informed your choice of blue for text colour. It made reading a little difficult. Those who alternate between colours do so for a word or sentence they want to highlight and not for the entire body post like you did. You may want to desist from that.

As for bounties and airdrops, they aren't that lucrative anymore. Not even anything close to what we experienced in 2017. Bounties this day are a waste of time, especially when the reward token isn't already listed before the bounty. Most times, these rewards become worthless when the projects eventually pay with them or projects don't get to send the reward at all.
2816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you filling your bags? on: June 03, 2022, 10:31:29 AM
Yeah, I've been loading up gradually on certain tokens I wanted to buy last year but couldn't because of price. Now is the right time, that's if anyone isn't scared. Bull excites investors and makes discussions noisy while bear scares them and keeps everyone in hushed tone. Only a few keep to what Warren Buffett says about buying when others are scared. That's the situation now. Instead of people to buy or DCA their investments, they're scared.
2817  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No such thing as Too Big to Fail on: June 03, 2022, 10:16:58 AM
it's the same risk involve with crypto generally including BTC but BTC is just way safer
For me, the major reason Bitcoin is where it's today is because of the community. It's not even about its size. Bitcoin has got well structured and committed community. Nothing much else Bitcoin is doing that other cryptos aren't doing or even doing better and easier. Come to even think of it, there's no smart contract to Bitcoin like Eth and others have. It's a PoW and doesn't afford hodlers much benefit of earning more quantity on staking apart from price appreciation, unlike PoS where staking is allowed. Nevertheless, I still think it will be unimaginable for Bitcoin to fail. If it does, that will be the death of the crypto industry. The confidence reposed in this industry is garnered from Bitcoin. If Bitcoin collapses, the entire crypto market will disappear.

I do not see cool reason ignoring a critics, though it's peculiar to me.
Well, while I effortlessly concede that the right and choice of action is entirely yours, and rightly so too, let me quickly ask what use it will be to you not ignoring users you know make "nonsense post" like you pointed out. I'm not cool (I guess most people too) with reading nonsense posts. Anyway, I admit that it's different strokes for different folks. Nevertheless, I prefer ignoring a user who intentionally irritates others for the fun of it to one who criticizes for the good of it. Again, I would not keep anyone's contact I know I don't need. It's pointless letting it lie fallow on my phone and take up memory space. Deleting the contact is the easiest way for me not to make someone a point to remember.
2819  Other / Archival / Re: [Merit] Help newbies and those who have a little left to the next rank on: June 02, 2022, 07:11:57 PM
We really can't blame others for not reading the op carefully. I also misread something and didn't noticed that what I submitted did not meet the requirements.
Well, I will blame those who don't read the OP before applying. They can't go scot-free of the blame. After all, they say "Ignorance of a crime isn't an excuse", not so?

I also didn't think that this still goes on since I noticed that many posts in some pages are not merited.
It could be that Ratimov doesn't frequent this thread now as he did in the past.
