That's interesting, never heard that story before, do you remember who posted the thread? Give some more details and I can try to search for some keywords.
2822  Other / Meta / Re: Trust: The New Rank requirement? on: April 16, 2019, 07:20:58 AM
I foresee a situation where the Trust score will begin to serve as the new requirement for members to rank up. Honestly, Theymos could be harbouring this thought. It's over a year now since the sMerit system was instituted and his silence so far in creating another level after the "Legendary" rank portends something, I should think. What do you guys think?

I don't think so, if you are talking about the feedback people leave, nobody will force you to trade with someone in order to rank up.
If you talking about having a custom trust list in order to rank up. Could be a possibility but I don't think this will be implemented either.
I don't think we should involve trust in the ranking system at all.

The basic security tips would suggest no particular stages of the verification process could be ever rendered on the public source.
That's right I'm not asking you to conduct the verification process in public but at least let us know why his account was blocked and why suddenly you blocked his account when the withdrawal was requested?  I wonder why all the security procedures come into picture when a debit is requested?

We'll be glad to notify the community about the resolved status of this case; just keep up with this thread.
Cool. I'll remove my feedback after the issue is resolved.

Please note that the account isn't blocked but withdrawals are temporarily suspended for security reasons as suspicious activity in the account has been detected. At the moment we are awaiting for all the necessary data to be provided by the user.

hi

My ID card notarized translation sent you an email

I'm quoting this for reference. Here is the archived version too.

Happy to hear that the case is resolved.

Interesting, those are not in your list, what happened??
My second post is on page 35, they're all in the list. Unless you mean my scrape sample, it's only 55 out of 9000+ users. It's almost done scraping.

You got to be kidding me Shocked My list is almost complete. Can you get me the exact start and end of the userIDs you want scraped? I'm lazy, finding the first and last of the day was a lot of work Smiley

As you requested before your edit: Accounts created on January 28, 2018 Cheesy

No worries, I'll give you a start and end ID tomorrow sometime.
I can actually try to make a list myself . We'll see how long it will take me. Soon is Easter so most of the people are in vacation mode.

2826  Other / Meta / Re: Isn't this copy-paste? [plagiarism] [user=yogg] on: April 15, 2019, 01:45:03 PM
Maybe sounds strange, but theymos_away have a whole topic removed :
https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=theymos_away

Anyway it's not something strange. When theymos posted the HoweyCoins ICO I opened a thread that his account might have been compromised (didn't click any of the links as everything was quite suspicious and I didn't knew that it was a prank). Then he wrote with his alt account that it's just a joke and I moved the thread into archive. Some time later i found that the thread is gone together with the posts, so sometimes even admins posts get trashed, it shouldn't be surprising if he gets some posts deleted.

The other admin also have some posts deleted by the mods : https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=cyrus
Cheesy

Back to the topic. My full support to Yogg. Every time i report someone I write the same sentence, so that makes me also a self-plagiarist.

Advice to @yogg, next time just quote your earlier message you refer to, it's the same and no more shit will come your way.

One more request @LoyceV, the list of users registered on January 28, 2019.
I'm pretty sure that on that date more bumping accounts were created.

2830  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Airdrop for reporting a given number of posts(suggestion) on: April 15, 2019, 08:56:30 AM
1 merit to those who learn how to use the Search Engine... jk

This should have been implemented when the merit system came, now it's way too late, to many were hunting for the reporter badges and it's quite possible that someone with bad intentions is already meeting the criteria for the airdrop.

Let's just report for the good of the forum and not for rewards.
2831  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion]Number of deleted posts in a thread. on: April 15, 2019, 07:45:02 AM
Of course it will mostly be used in the alts ANN section. Can be implemented in other section too if needed.

Quote
This can very easily be manipulated, so the number doesn't mean anything.

True, but again this will be only informational, like now you can sort threads by view count, it will be nice to arrange them based on deleted posts by mods. I don't think that anyone will try to manipulate the counts.

I want to see for example this thread >

Actually, this can be easily implemented in BPIP.
2832  Other / Meta / [Suggestion]Number of deleted posts in a thread. on: April 14, 2019, 05:57:15 PM
It will be really useful if we get a some extra information like number of deleted posts in a thread.
I thought also to add the number of banned users but I guess it won't be implemented,
It can be placed next to the view count info  - (Read 2625 times) (xxx deleted posts)

Same can  be applied for the self-moderated threads as well.
What you guys think??
2833  Other / Meta / Re: Ice bucket challange ... meh ... Rank up challenge ! on: April 14, 2019, 04:39:01 PM
Lol,
This sounds like fun but just for a few participants, big part of the active members are our of the scope + the chalange cound create quite a merit hunting situation.
Anyway, since I cannot join Cheesy (I have to wait almost a year) I'll keep an eye on the participants to trow some merit thier way.

2835  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Julain Assange Arrested on: April 12, 2019, 08:03:56 PM
Anonymous in support of Asange. I guess there will be a response to the arrest.

Anonymous Message To The Captors Of Julian Assange

Greetings citizens of the world, We Are Anonymous.
This is a message for the UK government and their cohorts around the world who are working to silence whistleblowers.

As many of you know, UK authorities have arrested Wikileaks co-founder Julian Assange on behalf of the US government. This is a move that has been expected for some time and Assange himself has even warned us about his impending arrest. This arrest and the greater persecution of Wikileaks and other whistleblowers sends a clear message that these governments will stop at nothing to maintain their secrecy.

Assange is an enemy of the state because he has exposed the crimes of both the left and the right. Assange was forced into exile after he exposed war crimes on behalf of the Bush administration with the “collateral damage” video that was leaked to his organization by Chelsea Manning. The video showed graphic evidence of war crimes committed by the US military overseas, but at the time many conservatives believed that he put US lives in danger. Years later, Assange found himself in the crosshairs of the liberals, after his organization leaked explosive evidence of corruption about Hillary Clinton just before the 2016 election.

After exposing Hillary Clinton, Assange was labeled as a Russian asset, although there is no evidence to support these claims. By all accounts, Assange is a true journalist who speaks truth to power and exposes corruption whether it is on the left or the right. The modern age has so few actual journalists that we no longer have any idea what a real journalist looks like. Instead, we have talking heads on the news who report unsubstantiated sound bytes that are crafted to sell a specific narrative.

Many powerful forces from all over the world have worked to make this possible. Influential people representing the governments of the UK, the United States, and Ecuador have all signed off on this unprecedented attack on journalism. These interests have acted against the people without fear because they believe that their positions of power will grant them protection from the karmic consequences of reality.

By these actions, they are bringing the free world closer to a widespread revolution, and that is honestly what may be needed to stop these constant advances on our freedom. This should be a peaceful revolution that is waged across many battlefields, including cyberspace, the domain of An0nymous.

Every single powerful person who has signed off on this order should be shaking in their boots, because the force of the internet is about to be unleashed upon them. All the way from the CIA, the President of the United States, and down to the arresting officers that carried Assange out of the embassy, you have all exposed yourselves as enemies of the people and it is time for An0nymous to act accordingly.

Another battlefield that the free people of the world need to dominate is the streets. Street protests are sometimes seen as a wasted effort, but the current revolution brewing in France and other parts of the developed world show us that the governments can bend to the will of the people.

For weeks, Assange and Wikileaks have been putting out warnings that the arrest was imminent, and the people of the UK had every opportunity to form a human chain around that building to prevent the authorities from making the arrest. However, it is still not too late to take similar action. If protests that rival the scale and intensity of the recent demonstrations in France were to sweep across the UK in response to the arrest of Assange, it could help to protect him, and possibly change the outcome of his case.

Assange has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize every single year since 2010 when his case began to gather international media attention, and he is well loved by the people of the world, especially those who have the sense to see through the propaganda that justifies the foreign policy of the US government and their allies.

Unfortunately, the establishment does not feel the same, so this is a warning for the establishment: Let Assange free or you will pay!

The time has come for us to unite, the time has come for us to stand up and fight!

We are Anonymous!

We are Legion!

We do not forgive!

We do not forget!

Expect us!

BTW here are the charges :

Quote
The indictment alleges that in March 2010, Assange engaged in a conspiracy with Chelsea Manning, a former intelligence analyst in the U.S. Army, to assist Manning in cracking a password stored on U.S. Department of Defense computers connected to the Secret Internet Protocol Network (SIPRNet), a U.S. government network used for classified documents and communications. Manning, who had access to the computers in connection with her duties as an intelligence analyst, was using the computers to download classified records to transmit to WikiLeaks. Cracking the password would have allowed Manning to log on to the computers under a username that did not belong to her. Such a deceptive measure would have made it more difficult for investigators to determine the source of the illegal disclosures.

During the conspiracy, Manning and Assange engaged in real-time discussions regarding Manning’s transmission of classified records to Assange. The discussions also reflect Assange actively encouraging Manning to provide more information. During an exchange, Manning told Assange that “after this upload, that’s all I really have got left.” To which Assange replied, “curious eyes never run dry in my experience.”

Assange is charged with conspiracy to commit computer intrusion and is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
