Jeez, I just don't get some of you... these guys are working to improve the future of Litecoin, they deserve donations. If you don't want to donate, then do not donate. Trolling this thread and the dev team does absolutely no good to anyone.Keep up the great work devs, as others have stated I'm happy Litecoin can attract the caliber of devs that it is. It makes me really excited for Litecoin's future. Warren, you have my respect for not fighting back and remaining respectful in your replies, don't let the naysayers get to you. PS: To Litecoin miners that want to donate: hypernova.pw is neat pool with a custom front end. There is a 1% pool fee, but you can also set it to send 1-10% of your minted coins straight to the dev team, which is quite convenient. EDIT: ^^ hmm, that feature seems to have disappeared. Sorry for the misinformation.

Listen you tit, if I could believe for one second your argument was structured and that you had no vested interest then I would listen, but fact is you sound like you have feather coin shoved so hard up your arse you can barely breathe without spitting them out.
Lol, I almost spit out my coffee. Thanks for the laugh.

isnt this the saddest thread in this forum?
anyone wants to talk about the ROI for these machines?
I admit it sucks sitting on the sidelines watching difficulty skyrocket. Meanwhile paying rent +bills at a commercial property that is empty of any hashing ASICs... Sad times indeed. Yet, I still remain optimistic Avalon will deliver soon. Hopefully Batch 3 is well under way by the end of the month.

Yeah, um... that was entertaining while it lasted I suppose. Thanks for taking care of him.

I like the one's in post #144 and #166 in this thread.
Just my 2 satoshi's
Could be also, just my 2 charlies or 2 coblees - from LTC creator Charlie Lee Lol. love it. CH - I'm still loving zinodaur's design the best, especially the black on silver. Easily the most professional looking submission. I'll be making an official announcement as to the design later this week. I have made a decision as to which design to use, however I changed the mechanics of the design after receiving some advice and would like to get it finalized before announcing anything. I was originally planning on printing the Litecoin address of the coin directly on top of the hologram. I was advised against this because the address may wear off due to excessive wear (carrying it around in your pocket or wallet, etc.) The new design will be similar to how Casascius does his coins nowadays, with a window in the hologram containing the Litecoin address underneath it on the coin insert, and the private key printed on the opposite side.

+1. I think I'm partially in fault here too. Hehe, I think I may be partially to blame for starting the never ending wave of group buy threads as well. +1 to this initiative. The "custom hardware forum" has become the "group buy for custom hardware forum", and it is hard to do actual research on the custom hardware that is being developed. Possibly even a sub forum for different manufacturers so I can ignore all the BFL threads as well. I admit I'm probably just dreaming on that one though.

I don't have an issue with BFL giving 50 BTC to Ckolivas and Lukejr for their time and effort coding mining software. I do however have an issue with them making said payments under the guise of a charity donation.
When the initial charity bet was made by BFL, I was under the impression the 1000 BTC would go to a REAL charity that helps people that are of REAL need to be helped. Charities help people in need... people that are starving, people that are thirsty, people that don't have homes, etc.
No offense meant by this, but it doesn't seem like either ckolivas or lukejr fit the mold as people whom a charity would help. It seems like the both have a roof over their heads, food, and water.
I'm disappointed to say the least, but not surprised at all considering we are talking about BFL.

Have you written a white paper, or is the OP the closest thing you have? I like the idea of innovative currencies, I will be including Decrits in my list of new innovative currencies and (attempting) to explain a little bit about it. Keep up the good work, the future of crypto currencies depends on people like you.

Having over 51% of a crypto coins hashing power is certainly concerning no matter how pretty a picture fan boys try to paint.
If Bigvern gets hacked, WDC and DGC would be in serious danger of a double spend attack, and could make it worthless in a matter of minutes.
It is a serious problem.
But it's not a scam on WDC, DGC, or Verns parts. It's just an unfortunate circumstance that could be taken advantage of by malicious parties. Yes I agree

Damn, I can't wait to start seeing results from the open day! I am hoping my decision not to sell my pre-order was a wise one. I doubt there's much news that comes out of the open day. It seems they have already released most information, the open day is just to give people a chance to go see that they are a real company, and that the youtube video was not faked.

We're looking into it internally.
At this point, don't get too hopeful, but personally (while I don't hold any litecoins!) I think that anything we can do to advance any crypto-currency is a good thing.
This is going to take a while to decide on, but I'll keep you guys updated. Even if we decide not to accept LTC, I can think of a couple ways we can help the Litecoin merchant economy grow.
Cheers, -Jon
Hey Jon, Thanks for responding- it was somewhat of a surprise for me! I will remain hopeful that perhaps one day, you guys may accept Litecoin or support it in some way. All the best, Ch

There is an advantage to a merchant using both Bitcoin and Litecoin though, because when you accept Litecoin as well, you open yourself up for business from Litecoin users, instead of only Bitcoin users and visa versa.
"litecoin users" is just a small subset of "bitcoin users". Sadly. This statement makes no sense. Linecoin users aren't a subset of bitcoin users. That's like saying Euro users are a subset of USD users. Not every Litecoin user uses Bitcoin. Assuming that currently most Bitcoin or Litecoin users are miners too, there are at least 3000-4000 maybe even 5000 litecoin miners (from counts in litecoin pools) - how many bitcoin miners do you think are out there? I'd guess either close to or slightly higher than this and it's going to decrease over the next couple of months as ASICs push miners out. So the number of Litecoin users and Bitcoin users are probably not as different as you seem to think. Good point. As ASICs become a reality, there will be perhaps more Litecoin miners than Bitcoin miners until ASICs are readily available and cheaper.

The testing of shorter block times is an important step towards the development of cryptocurrencies.
Most "noobs" don't know this, but shorter block times were tested 2 years ago in an ALT currency named GeistGeld. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=42417.0

IMO kncminer will be using preorder money to develop their ASIC, as 28nm development is very expensive.
Since they are using a 28nm process node, they could very well run into problems in the development that push back their fairly optimistic shipping date. My understanding of ASIC development is the smaller the process node used, the more risky/challenging development is.
I do believe they are a real company, with true intent to release ASIC products to consumers. However, the question of the day is how long will it take them to do this? That's anybody's guess at this point.

I ran out of space in this post. The list has been moved off of the forums to: http://www.cryptoreview.netI also "re-branded" it as more of a general cryptocurrency review site, rather than only reviewing innovative coins. Let me know what you think of the new website- any suggestions are welcome! If you would like to you can still keep an eye on this thread, because I will post here every time I add a cryptocurrency or make a blog post to serve as notification of some sort. I think this will be a good way to receive feedback as well. If you would rather contact me through the website then there is a contact page where you can submit a cryptocurrency for review, let me know your opinion on a blog post or cryptocurrency analysis, or notify me of a factual error on this website. This goes straight to my email, so it is the quickest way to get a hold of me.

Eh, just saying it can be done much cheaper that way.
There are at least two companies/groups working on Scrypt FPGAs, you seriously think they're both spending a million+ for on die memory?
I believe they're using the method I suggested.
