2821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Has Done me More Good than Harm?what about You? on: May 24, 2019, 09:21:28 PM
Yes indeed it has helped me a lot, both financially and otherwise. It has helped shaped my mind on how the world works as well as upcoming technological advances which will disrupt this world.
Although when I started it wasn't easy, but all those mistakes has helped me make good and better choices now.

Actually, there are a lot of individuals here who are earning a decent amount of income just by dealing with crypto alone. There are people who already quit their daily job in exchange of going full time with crypto. But this should be done if you are financially confident that your crypto earnings can sustain your living for the next 6 months or so.

And as for me, crypto brought me a lot of opportunities, though I did lost in some investments and trading, yet I gained more from this industry. So what more can I ask? Crypto will always be a part of my daily living now.
2822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Rising, Scams Rising on: May 24, 2019, 08:40:23 PM
With me fortunately not happened such stories. But I really don't understand those people who call bitcoin a scam. Scammers use Fiat currencies too, but we use them.

Those people who call bitcoin as a scam are those that really don't understand the concept of bitcoin or cryptocurrency. They thought that when they hear bitcoin, it automatically equates to the notion of scam. The media is not really good in portraying the image of crypto, many of whom are only dwelling with the negative issues or problems encountered in the crypto industry. Hacking incidents are highlighted giving misconception from newbie crypto users. Even without crypto, the presence of scammers are already everywhere. And now they found a new haven to be anonymous, dealing with crypto projects. If you are a newbie to crypto, better learn the basics and read articles pertaining to this topic or better yet, this forum alone will give you so much information that you need in understanding what crypto really is.
2823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your thoughts on the recent Localbitcoins.com ban of its Iran-based users on: May 24, 2019, 08:14:54 PM
With the limited number of actual avenues in Iran to which a bitcoin user can trade his bitcoins for cash, I can say that the ban of LocalBitcoins is somewhat already a hard blow. Well from the looks of it, it seems like this is just another one of the crazy tricks the US can look pull off to pin Iran on the wall pretty hard. Perhaps it is time for the Iranians to create their own exchange and figure out things from there.

They banned in due to risk factor of funds moving illegally for illegal purpose, so to stop it they have issued this notice.

Pretty sure it's more than that.

Are there no other options for Iranians other than LocalBitcoins? I guess there will be at least one local crypto exchange operating within that country. And this is a good opportunity for them to launch their own local crypto exchange, in case they don't have one yet. They are not banning bitcoin only the service of LocalBitcoins. So I guess, it is still good to go for crypto users in that country.
2824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling strategies (beliefs) on: May 23, 2019, 11:52:29 PM
I guess I have no beliefs when it comes to gambling. It is all about luck for most of the gambling games and believing in some beliefs is just to feel good about yourself. In time, you will acquire your own strategies to every game but it doesn't mean it will always work for you. You are just hoping that in some ways, it will help your chance of winning.
2825  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▂ ▃ ▅ ▆ █ herosphere.gg ▓▒░ 🏆 #1 Crypto Esports Fantasy | $10 Free Entry on: May 23, 2019, 11:05:43 PM
Obviously, herosphere is not the first Crypto Esports betting book. As you can see there are a lot of sportsbook that includes esports fantasy betting also like sportsbet.io. You can't take that credit Cheesy. Or if you consider yourself as the number 1, remember that there are multiple sites that are doing this kind of betting.
Clearly, it's just a marketing strategy but it is up to the people to choose what they really want and since there are lots of reputable gambling sites out there. Saying they were the number is just a strategy to catch most newcomers in gambling casinos. It is the one who's marketing strategy will stand out in the field of gambling business.

And remember also, no one will say that they are the second best, right? Always the #1 or the leading site. But you will know the actual offering once you experience using their platform. So no big deal with this marketing strategy. Everyone can say that they are number 1 but the community knows the real deal.
2826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Heard of Bitsend (BTS)? on: May 23, 2019, 10:59:51 PM
Actually Bitsend (BSD) is one of the few coins who did a very successful  long term airdrop from 2017 up to 2019 and has a good community backing. The project has also a solid development and has a dedicated team to it. I think it still a safe investment than current ICO's with a high percentage of being a scam. But of course, this is not an investment advice!

Yes, should be BSD and not BTS.  Tongue  And yes, I encountered this a long time ago also when they were giving weekly airdrop for Sr Members and above. The team is pretty solid but I wonder why the value of BSD is not growing. But for me, at least this project has a good reputation and backed by many reputable members here.

First of all, i though bitsend was BND not BTS. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitsend/

Second, it is one of the old projects still out there. They did lots of airdrops and listed on very reputable exchanges.

It's bad if you want to correct somebody and you make a typo Smiley
So.. it's BSD. It's an old project/airdrop, I still get a few coins every now and then, so it's clearly active. The value dropped by a great deal (from 0.00007BTC to 0.000008BTC in the last year), but it's still traded at Bittrex so I'd say it still holds on.

I thought the weekly airdrop already ended last April. Still ongoing?
2827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: P2P Bitcoin Transaction on: May 23, 2019, 10:03:19 PM
Hi guys, I need your feedback. We're developing a product. Sending, receiving Bitcoin internationally, getting paid in Bitcoin is always FREE, instant, and secure. You know, in a regular bitcoin wallet or service there are mining or transaction fees while sending Bitcoin. We won't charge any fee. So it's different from other services and wallets. Also, it's different from Lightning Network because it's very simple to use it. The receiver's email and the app are enough to send Bitcoin.
  • What do you think about that?
  • Would you use it? If you don't, can you explain why?
  • What features would encourage you to use this service?

Noble thought, no doubt about it! However, I have few questions that needs to be answered for my better understanding.

1. How would you confirm bitcoin transactions?
2. How a bitcoin transaction will be instant?
3. How would you include a transaction in a mined block?

Free and instant services are always desirable but that has be real. Lightening network is making this possible but the transactions are not free or instant, it is close to that! How would you scale up even higher than LN?

Lightning network so far has the lowest tx fee so they are saying they will be offering free and instant? Better than LN? Any response from the above queries? I will only use it if the reputation has already been established like years of operations.
2828  Economy / Economics / Re: Dont believe on sale on: May 23, 2019, 12:43:33 AM
I agree with you. I used to be fooled by sales before but I have learned my lesson. I have found out that their sale items have the same value as its original price. Since then, I never believed in sales anymore. Better buy with current and original price than to be fooled and deceived.

Many are doing that strategy. Yet many people are still deceive by this marketing strategy. Though there are really good deals that you can find. But, it is always better to buy what you need and not what you want. We will just waste our money for items that will clutter our home.
2829  Economy / Economics / Re: Jobs Created by the Blockchain & Bitcoin on: May 23, 2019, 12:18:24 AM
You didnt mention about the jobs created from the hardware requirements for the use of bitcoin and not only the software specialists ones when pertaining to the blockchain.
The need for construction of the server complexes and network infrastructure create jobs for those who are hands on with building them and connecting those components together so the blockchain can work with minimal issues.

There are really indirect jobs created by this blockchain technology. And we are grateful for the long list of benefits derived from the invention of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. But with the proliferation of blockchain projects in the cyberspace means a lot of people are at risk with their investments. People should know where to trust their hard-earned investments.
2830  Economy / Economics / Re: Problems In Chinas Economy & Escalating Trade War Will Cause Large Bitcoin Rally on: May 22, 2019, 11:40:24 PM
Cryptocurrency has a big impact on the economic growth and trading war going on between China and Us. However, this controversy and despite mining being banned in China, these occurrences couldn't affect cryptocurrency's growth and it will still go better. The blockchain industry is too resistant to face these issues.

You have a point. There are several issues before originating from China, yet bitcoin keeps on growing. It doesn't stop because of China's problems. The scope of crypto is already bigger than China. But if it will do good in terms of bitcoin's price, why not?
2831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright, BTC USA Copy Rights/Patent Troll: What is his 'Endgame'? on: May 22, 2019, 10:19:40 PM
Here a very well written article about Craigh Wright, worth reading:

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/op-ed-how-many-wrongs-make-wright/

About his purpose, it's blantantly to make more money (and maybe feeding some personality traits), but the end of the game will come and will be a jail sentence. I hope asap.

And reading today, US Copyright Office does not recognize Wright as Satoshi after all. I hope they will not grant approval to his filing. Wright is a fraud in the making. He doesn't care about the truth but the money that he will generate from all this fiasco.

2832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright recognised by US Govt as Satoshi, author of white paper on: May 21, 2019, 10:24:05 PM
They could do it,We all have different opinion and I think most of us already know that he is not the real or original Satoshi Nakamoto ,
People could believe or say whatever they want but don't expect that everyone would agree to it.
No matter what happens the real crypto enthusiast wouldn't see him as Satoshi since he couldn't prove it.

Yeah that is truly craig wright claiming he is a real satoshi but people didn't convince for his ambitions, I don't understand what is the basis about this news.

Been seeing threads related to this topic. But I want to know if the US Copyright Office already granted the approval of the filing of Wright? I thought he just filed the registration docs but nothing tangible yet. Unless, once you filed, is it assumed approved? Can somebody file a petition of fraud?
2833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kevin O'Leary's Take On Bitcoin! on: May 21, 2019, 10:01:58 PM
Kevin O'Leary are used to old school investments and this is clear when you look at the type of investments that he has put his money in with the program, Shark Tank. He wants an hands on investment and something where he can touch the product that he invested in. <His favourite investment type is wine related, because he knows a lot about wine>

Why would he suddenly invest in something that he knows nothing about? A lot of investors will shy away from investments, if the technical aspects of that technology is too complicated. He is just repeating what the mass media are spewing out to the public.  Roll Eyes

But maybe he is secretly keeping a stash of bitcoin for himself. And just giving those comments towards bitcoin to create fud and might further boost the btc performance. We really don't know their real intentions toward bitcoin. What we are seeing is their front face but we are not seeing what's going on behind.
2834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real Satoshi killed by US Govt - replaced by Craig S. Wright on: May 21, 2019, 07:20:12 PM
There are indeed a lot of indicators, that Satoshi might have been killed. After the 'Wikileaks accepting Bitcoin' story, things started to get weird.

-

Sums up to a nice conspiracy story. Now the problem here is: It didn't work! Good for Bitcoin and bad for Gavin, Craig, Roger and the rest of the 3 letter fanboys.

Reading all these articles will really make you think that there's some conspiracy story here. But Wright will never be the real Satoshi no matter how hard he tries. And now if no one challenges his registration, what will happen? Will he get the approval of the Copyright Office? Are they going to find the real owner of those documents?

2835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never buy too much coins because you would eventually forgot gosh on: May 20, 2019, 11:57:54 PM
Although this thread was months ago, I can still feel the pain of OP by losing 0.3 BTC because of the chain swap.

Price of bitcoin when he posted this was $4k x 0.3 = $1,200.

How about computing the value of it now? $8k x 0.3 = $2,400.

Just got doubled, ouch!

When you hold altcoins, always be updated and check the updates and news about it to avoid this incident.

I know the feeling as I have few coins that went in that route and forgot what's going on with them. I have a lot of altcoins and tokens that I need to revisit their thread as well. There are coins that have been swapped but following those altcoins is really pain in the butt. You really need to create a file and list all your possessions and update it once in a while. Otherwise, you will lose those coins and will be left bag holder with crap.
2836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which exchange is going to be the next high volume Altcoin exchange? on: May 20, 2019, 10:09:30 PM
Cryptopia was not that good exchange, their most of the coins were a scam or pump dump Ponzi scheme project! Almost 80% of coins was not listed on the CMC! I never like the cryptopia exchange! And now it's gone and we don't any new exchange to replace it because we have got plenty of better exchange than Cryptopia!

Very well said! There's no need to replace a crappy exchange in the first place. There are medium-exchanges that are already existing and better services than Cryptopia. They charged high fees just to list a specific coin but their services were pissed poor. So there's really no reason to fret about what happened to Cryptopia. It is high time that they closed their platform.
2837  Economy / Speculation / Re: RED is spreading like a wildfire on: May 19, 2019, 10:41:18 PM
If it breaks the 7000 dollars support level, downtrend will be followed. But as of now, it seems like bitcoin never touch the floor. It traps by support and stable at 7300 dollars. I do not know when it could happen but I think it will move upward 8k dollars. Hopefully, it happens after I buy the bitcoin. I want to fill it in 7100 because it may goes up in the next few days.

Look how much is the bitcoin now. I hope you bought some as the bitcoin is going up again and yes, it already touched the $8k-mark again. Red in the market is just a normal scenario, and then going green again. No big deal. If you are an old timer, this scenario is not new and you will encounter it many times.

Adoption is increasing, shops are accepting crypto, so there is no miracle in this growth.
2838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening to Rentberry? on: May 19, 2019, 10:06:26 PM
It seems they are not a scam but still a shitcoin.

Rentberry was a hype project and raised 27.5m $. It is a rental platform which you can make an auction for your rentals (for that website need enormous userbase which they don't and won't). Ico price was 0.35$ and now $0,001243 per token. So investors still holding this token lost %99.7 so far.

And in return of their loss, rentberry choose to silence them and turn into announcement channel.

The downfall we live cause of projects like rentberry. Hyped but doesn't make any sense.

I have one investment that turned out like this as well. They can't be considered as scam because they are still "working" as they said. But the value is not even 1% of their ICO price. I can't sell it because I'll just get not even a penny out of it. The problem with this kind of project - once they are up and running but no clients using their platform, then where they can get their value? So their downfall is really imminent. Now, it turns to be a shitcoin where no one is interested to buy it anymore.
2839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 37,000 Investors Await Refunds from ‘Illegal’ $90 Million Envion ICO on: May 19, 2019, 09:23:43 PM
This time the investors are very lucky. Because the company is based in Switzerland and the authorities there are very efficient in pursuing financial crimes. But my only concern is that the legal process may go on for quite some time, and along with that the expenses may mount. Hopefully, everything will be settled in a proper manner and the investors will be reimbursed.
I also think that investors are relatively lucky because Switzerland will investigate this case to the end and I hope all investors will return their funds. In the end, how much can you deceive people with impunity. To be honest when it comes to scams I really in these cases just dream about regulation.

They are really fortunate investors to get back their investments. But how long will the wait be? But still good news for them, at least they can get it back. Unlike, other scam ICOs, the hope is already out of the question. Just be careful on your investments. Those scammers don't care how you get your hard-earned money.
2840  Economy / Speculation / Re: what will happen if BTC hit 1.000.000$ on: May 19, 2019, 09:10:35 PM
Such value is still far from reality. But for the sake of discussion, I believe by the time it hits that amount, the adoption is already stronger and almost all people from all walks of life have their own possession of btc. Hacking is still there but more sophisticated wallets will emerge to combat this potential hacking scenarios.
