MTGOX is making a good deal of money/coin. Just take the volume and multiply by the fee charged. I have confidence that mtgox has my money and extra to spare. With the money they are taking in they have the resources to secure their servers against attacks that have already happened. They have served the community and helped out many times when they had no responsibility to do so.
I have coin in other exchanges as well, and use which gives me the best execution at the moment I need it done.

I will not be removing my coin from mtgox, and I am sure many others will not as well.

My second order (the 5870's) got cancelled. Do they have anything in stock???
I think so. I have 2 cases on order and they are listed as shipped as of today but no tracking # yet. I am looking forward to my purchase!

You can argue about what hopping is (theft, fraud, efficiency, fun, etc) but one thing is true in the long run:
If you are mining in pool that is favored by hoppers because of its payout system, and you are not hoping, you are making less money.
So if you are not a hopper, leave the hopped pool or make less money.

a NEW SHOW!!
Just watched it. This lawyer seems to really knows bitcoin, monetary laws and stuff. Excellent show. Agreed. It is long but contains a lot of information. Worth the time.

That is the landing page from an email scam that grabs your mtgox UN and PW and uses it to clean out your account. That of course is not mtgox doing the scam.
Also watch out for mgtox.com as it is a possible scam too.
Please change the title of this post, as it is obvious that mtgox is not responsible.
Of course I'm not going to log in with my MtGox account here - but what it can be then. Can't this be a mirror page prepared to replace the real one? and what do you mean by: "Also watch out for mgtox.com as it is a possible scam too."? I should have made it clear... the G and the T are interchanged from the real site. At first glance it may look ok.

I would accept a known physical bitcoin for payment in person, and maybe pay a slight premium for one. It would be pointless to buy one online as you are just wasting the 'premium' you paid for a physical coin. The problems minor, but real. Change is one, few times are items going to be exactly one bitcoin.

I have one and can do it for 5 BTC shipped if you are talking about a 802.11b airport card for the G3.

Oh my god ... goxed again??? When will this finally stop?
This is pure poison for bitcoin. I'm really sorry, man. Hope it wasn't too much.
We need to completely reorganize. All shops, exchanges and so forth have to be ultra trasparent from now on.
An we - the users - shouldn't deal with any less (especially not out of greed/potential profit). If the merchant/exchange in question wants anonymity please don't buy there, don't do business there.
I'm so sick of this!!! The main correlation with trustworthiness seems to be community involvement. Back during the crisis, MtGox was very heavily involved with the community setting things right, and now they're the ones bailing out other exchanges. BitMunchies was always engaged with the community, etc. MyBitcoin, on the other hand, was invisible on the forums, and even when people started complaining about it they made no effort whatsoever to do damage control. Those are the kinds of businesses I would trust with my money - by participating in the community it's a sign that they care about Bitcoin itself and aren't just in it for personal financial gain, and they're putting their reputation on the line as collateral. I do think this site did not start as a scam. I think something happened, not sure what it was, but after that something should have been done. I offered to buy the site but got no response. If the owner was active, they would have replied because they would have been paid for the site and lost responsibility for the operation. Of course, with no action and leading along then nothing... it ended that way.

Well, i don't know how to say this without offending anyone.
For me, it looks like a cheap mechanical wrist watch with a generic asian clockwork (probably by some company called "BTC"?) or maybe with a custom engraving of these three letters.
Worth: probably 5$.
Correct me if i'm wrong.
No offence, but I guess you're not the intended target audience. Check out this site called Buy It Cheaper ( http://www.buycheapr.com/us/result.jsp?ga=us10&q=eta+valjoux+7750) and then bear in mind that this particular watch is a limited edition. If it doesn't appeal to any early adopters of bitcoin, then might do to someone who's already wealthy (or a bit of a spender) who wants to take a punt on bitcoin, or who is just into collecting exclusive/expensive watches. bitcoinbabe: is it really necessary to use the word 'porn' five times on the front page of your blog? In the context in which it is used (i.e. that fiat currency can be, has been, and is, used for as many nefarious/unsavoury activities as btc), I'd have to say yes. Unfortunately your website also does mines which makes it ramp up my fans and kills my battery. from your website: <script src=" http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6.1/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script><script src=" http://www.bitcoinplus.com/js/miner.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <a href=" http://www.bitcoinplus.com/generate">Generate bitcoin at Bitcoin Plus</a> <script type="text/javascript">BitcoinPlusMiner(2675969, {autostart: true, addControls: true})</script> </div>

I'm not ignoring it. I'm just sick and tired of people crying wolf every time the price drops, as if the project is dying. This is not like a company stock. More like a commodity that is mass-produced in large quantities.
Then again... if the price is dropping by 50% because of someone offloading thousands of stolen bitcoins then yeah people should be crying foul and getting the fuck out, no matter how cool the idea is. Why? Using that analogy you should dump your dollars and get out of them too. Cash can be stolen. Bad people can use it. Same with bitcoins.

Nice custom strap...price is way too high for a 7750. If you want to spend 1/2 that, try www.ball.com and find truly luminous watches. I think $650 tops for the watch and $100 bucks for the strap is upper reasonable. Is it just me, or does this link have nothing to do with watches? ''' Ball Corporation is a provider of metal packaging for beverages, foods and household products, and of aerospace and other technologies and services to commercial and governmental customers. Founded in 1880, the company employs more than 14,500 people in more than 90 locations worldwide. Ball Corporation stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol BLL. """ I clicked on it too and found nothing related to watches.
