2841  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: November 20, 2013, 08:10:08 PM
Except that neither of those three options are available in short order, and this appears imminent here in the US.

I'm not so sure. The first small batch is for China. I haven't heard them say a big batch is ready. I did read this:

The earliest time we can deliver the bulk sold chip will be in around 50 days. The chip order we sell will definitely have a commit day from foundry, which means we will sell the chip only after the wafer starts fabrication.

I'm afraid the price listed for a 2-month delivery date is way too high.

Isn't there any way to get money into CampBX without a 90 day wait? They've had really low prices throughout the run up.

Tomorrow they are supposed to have ACH transfers working. That should be pretty quick.

it's just a shame he's allowed contact with children, who knows what kind of damage he does with his little illegal "school" he runs in the Philippines.

Wow, could you stoop any lower?
2844  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble just busted on: November 19, 2013, 02:24:35 AM
there was a moment that some good money could have been made. If I had the balls I would have sold at 8 or 900 and buy them all back now.

So close! My transfer to the exchange was at 5 confirmations.

I love rollercoasters.

Totally agree. We will never see again cheap bitcoins.

These are the cheap bitcoins.
2848  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [FAILED]Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: November 17, 2013, 03:51:31 PM
You whine at me about a 'safe bet' (He actually said 2 weeksTM, which is more like before Thanksgiving from when he said it) yet I swear it has already been stated that it won't ship in November, looks like you just want a safe bet as well.

Safe bet? No. My bet is to make a point. They keep lying about shipping dates.
2849  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnC news on: November 17, 2013, 05:58:57 AM
Actually I sat in a room one Saturday with General Electric's Critical Power Specialist who flew in specifically to address the issue, i'd wager he knows what he's talking about and the HX has fried components at a with a statistically significant reason for concern according to other posts on the internet. It's not solely limited to KnC boards.

Let me get this straight. A GE engineer claimed the problem wasn't caused by GE hardware, but by some other company's product? Do you see why people would question the results of this "test"? How about you fly in a Corsair engineer and get his opinion?

You seem to fail to see they've cleared the bigest hurdle... Mar/Apr.  They'll be done LONG before March 2014... heck, they'll even be done before the end of the year.  I'll bet you 1BTC right now that they'll be done before Dec 15th.

You wait until they're almost done with the backlog, then you offer a very lenient date. Josh has already stated they'll be finished 10 days before that date. Wow, such a risky bet for you!

Where was your bet when they promised clearing pre-orders in Aug?
Where was your bet when they promised clearing pre-orders in Sep?
Where was your bet when they promised clearing pre-orders in Oct?

I'll offer you a better bet.

November / December    Initial Shipping

They're still advertising a November shipping date. I'll bet you 10 BTC they don't ship a Monarch in November.

They stated most of their customers don't use these forums and they have actually shipped out devices... I'm not sure what I think about that.

Not a lot of sites linking to them.
2852  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = 1,000,000 usd on: November 15, 2013, 01:57:39 AM
I have 1 BTC that I will sell for $1,000,000 right this minute. PM me.
2853  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 15, 2013, 01:41:39 AM
in the case of gox is active arbitrage even really possible?

Only if you have a Japanese bank account.
2854  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 14, 2013, 06:15:47 PM
so lets wait for some more news like "hot dog stand in washington accepts bitcoins" and the next rally begins Smiley

So that's what's driving this rally!

At the moment it feels kinda bad, waiting for cheaper prices (post crash) to buy some coins.

I'm a little afraid the price will go straight to $x,000 and never come back, with me never having bought any Bitcoins.

Right, so don't go all-or-nothing. Buy some now, and if it does go down buy more. If it goes up, you'll be glad you at least have some.
2856  Economy / Speculation / Re: ugh, timing the market isn't worth the trouble on: November 14, 2013, 05:08:40 PM
Better to buy and hold

Very good advice. Bitcoin is where Berkshire Hathaway was at in 1980. Look at it now. A moderate Bitcoin investment now could be astronomical in 30 years.
2857  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's getting frothy, and I'm dumping 75% of my coins on: November 14, 2013, 04:54:08 PM
I'm out - for real this time.

Thank you! Whoever bought your coins will be very happy in a few months. I hope you made a nice profit too.
2858  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC 16 nm VS BFL Monarch update on: November 14, 2013, 04:49:13 PM
Since I can neither prove nor disprove tape out, I cannot make a call on it.

Let's look at what they have said.

Quote
The initial process is what is called a bullet run, it will allow us to get a finished set of wafers in approximately 24 days from the date we tape out.

Quote
Current chip production has an expected delivery date in early/first half of December.

24 days + a few days for packaging, resulting in early December delivery. Sounds like they might have actually taped-out. In November. 3 months late!
2859  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Monarch update on: November 14, 2013, 04:26:40 PM
It's entirely possible BFL has shipped less then 350Th/s.  That's about 6k 60Gh/s singles 70k Jalapenos.

Josh has claimed to ship 40k units, so I'd take that to be an upper-bound on what they've actually shipped.
2860  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [FAILED]Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: November 14, 2013, 04:19:41 PM
Josh just did it again. He predicted they'll clear all orders "in two weeks".
