OMG, I know I asked the question if the Broncos could retain their ladder positioning,
but not really believing they could.....

Well done to them, the result is not good for our bets. My confidence level for the Sharks
is getting less and less, not to score in the second half is very poor.

Are there other teams which could qualify and be competitive in the NRL? I know this
comes back to the conversation regarding relegation.

From a Wiki page I see and didnt realise there were so many teams from NSW.

The headquarters of the National Rugby League (NRL) is in Sydney. Greater Sydney

South Sydney Rabbitohs, Sydney Roosters, and Wests Tigers, as well as being the northern
home of the St. George Illawarra Dragons, which is half-based in Wollongong. A tenth
New South Welsh team, the Newcastle Knights, is based in Newcastle.
2842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM Installed in Mexican Senate Building !!! on: April 28, 2022, 09:48:53 AM
Well, it is a clever plan to install it inside the Senate Building, because it shows the rest of the decision makers that "Bitcoin" is a household technology and also that the concept can work. The Senate will not be positive towards Bitcoin, if they do not see that Bitcoin can become a "currency" and that there are support for it.  Wink

Well Done... to Senator Indira Kempis for making that move, let's hope she can change the President's mind on Bitcoin becoming a currency, because a lot of remittance are being done between Mexicans working in the USA and their families in Mexico.  Wink

Its a clever plan and very much an "in your face" plan but I'm not sure how effective
the ATM alone will be. I'm sure at this stage any of the decision makers will be clued
in to Bitcoin or at least have some knowledge at this stage.

Maybe indeed it is an effort to normalise Bitcoin, to show how accessible it can be,
regardless of the inflated fees by using the machine

The remittance utility which Bitcoin can offer is definitely viable.

Update on the tournament in Munich, Top seed Zverev has been beaten in the Round of 16
by Rune with what seems like an easy enough win 3-6, 2-6.

Zverev has really gone off the boil since probably his outburst and loss of self control
at Mexico earlier this year.

Well done to Rune though with what seems like a fantastic performance.
2844  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware recommendation on: April 27, 2022, 10:29:57 PM
Wouldnt a big consideration be monitors?

Ideally or at least twin 24" curved LED monitors and obviously a graphics card to drive them.
You will want to be able to see full width charts and data below or as much data as possible
without having to scroll especially from side to side.

If you are going with 4 monitors like Rikafip suggests, you will need some sort of Monitor Arm,
I can vouch for the Humanscale M-Flex 8.1. All 4 arms are independently adjustable and dynamic
without the need to release levers to adjust them.

Looks like I got my bets in on the Panthers and Storm with Nitrogensports before
they closed off that.

So far I'm a bit dissapointed with the Roosters and Rabbitohs and surprisedwit the
Sea Eagles and Broncos, Lets see if the can at least keep their upper mid ladder position

2846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright Proving He’s not Satoshi- AGAIN on: April 27, 2022, 12:18:15 PM
This guy just won't go away. He's like a parasite that attached himself to Satoshi and isn't willing to seperate himself from him/her/them. He clearly craves attention like crazy and is willing to do anything to remain in the limelight.

Even though he is extremely rich, I still pity this guy for the reasons that I mentioned above. His greed for money and fame has led to his reputation getting screwed royally.

This guy is an excellent example to demonstrate why too much greed can lead to negative consequences in life. You need to be satisfied with what you have.

This scheme more than likely started out as a VERY small idea to claim Satoshi's coins
and its just mushroomed out of control and the only way to continue is lying, thats all
he has is lies.

Here’s a recent video [~snip~]
Let’s see how many lies we can point out and discuss..
https://youtu.be/BnPiH6OLLa0

Sorry, but no, I won't watch that interview.
The more the people watching such videos, the more the chance more such videos will be made, helping the troll get more attention/popularity.
(Also I expect my brain hurt from those lies Cheesy)

yea, good point best to avoid it. He is so infuriating to listen to, couldnt be bothered
with what he has to say, just tell me of the future court cases he loses.
2847  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with crypto Collectors / Artists on: April 26, 2022, 11:25:57 PM

1. When you bought your first  crypto collectibles? [What "triggered the spark"

?]

Seeing the Polymerbit Notes. I have always collected "Stuff", Notes, Coins, Magazines, Newspapers,
Pencils, Vinyl, Camera Film for example. I have never been able to afford items which I really wished for but it
never stopped me from admiring what was available. The Polymerbit Notes have been affordable and very
collectible so they were my first dive into this field.

2. What did you love about this sector?

[What excites you more about this kind of objects?]

Well at the moent Bitcoin is my #1 interest, without a doubt. And like Bitcoin itself I think we are still
at the early stages of Crypto collectibles. There is a lot more to come and still the allure of collecting some
historical items of importance/interest.

3. What future do you see in this kind of collection? [Will there be an expansion based on the largest number of users who approach crypto currencies?]

I actually dont know about this one, I thought I read somewhere a few years ago that Numismatic
ollecting was fading out with fewer younger people getting involved.
Crypto Collectibles could be a different story, I would like to think it will grow in the future. As regards high
quality original fine art Crypto artworks, I think they will always have a market

4. What do you think are the objects or types of objects that will have a greater interest or revaluation in the future? [Coins? Drawings? Stamps?]

Everything, but the rarity of those will play a big part in what is collectible, Limited edition Coins from
creators with a big catalogue of items, Similar to what krogothmanhattan is doing with his new coin ideas and what
MrCryptHodl is doing with his/her series as examples.

5. What advice would you give to those who are entering this sector for the first time?

Dont know TBH

6. Can you post your collection item that you think deserves more attention? [The rarest, the purchase you dreamed of, the one you are most fond of?]

Currently - There are two I have purchased these so I have direct knowledge of them
willi9974's Limited to 21 customisable 30g coin still hasnt sold out, and Hhampuz's 2 coin set limited to
100 still hasnt sold out. In comparison to other new coin projects which sell out quite quckly I feel these
should deserve some more attention

7. What do you think could be the “holy grail” of collecting bitcoin/crypto objects?

Anything with a production of 1

8. Do you think it's a hobby "for the rich" or can it be started by "penniless" collectors as well?

Depends on how muc you have or how muc you want to spend, there are low
value/priced nice collectibles from makers on ETSY to coins like Bitcoin Penny items which
are very acheivable.

9. What do you think about the dilemma of those who buy items paid for in bitcoin rather than keep bitcoins themselves? [It is the exact opposite of what happens in classic collecting where an inflationary system favors the long-term hodler...]

The simplistic way I look at it is: If I buy a collectible with FIAT, that FIAT could potentially
be used instead to buy Bitcoin, If i pay with Bitcoin I can still buy Bitcoin again with FIAT I could have
used to pay with. Its sometimes more about owning a physical item than what its value will be in
X number of years. If we all followed the strict long-term hodler thought this hobby wouldnt exist.

10. Observations / comments / ask yourself a question and give an answer.... more...

Need to think more on that, I'm sure there are more Q's

2849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 26, 2022, 07:07:36 PM

If it's an illness that he doesn't want to talk about, and which is sapping his strength even some considerable time after he has recovered, then it sounds very much like Covid. I can imagine that if he caught it, given his well-publicised lack of vaccination and all the chaos around his deportation from Australia, then he would be extremely reluctant to admit he'd caught it. IIRC he did catch Covid quite early on in the pandemic, but of course there is nothing to stop someone catching it twice, especially with the later variants.

The problems earlier in his career that sapped his energy were dietary, weren't they? I think it was the switch to a highly-restrictive and gluten-free diet that transformed him from being a good player into a world-beating superman. I don't think his current issues could relate to that.

Of course the problem could be simply that after all his time off, he's a bit rusty and not fully match-fit... and just doesn't want to admit it.

It seems to me that Djokovic is just making excuses. Everybody would have expected that he would have won but he lost and as you mention, he doesn't has played a lot of matches so he is missing some match rhythm.
He is indeed gluten intolerant but already made the switch to the diet a long time ago.

I take all excuses with a pinch of salt now as far as Djokovic is concerned, he hasnt
handled himself in a positive way this year.

As regards other big name players, Nadal and Medvedev - Nadal has said he will "Try" to
play at Madrid and Medvedev is back practicing, you see there is nothing like the pull of
the GS to get the big guns out and about.

Thank you for your rapid replies. I have no idea about wallets or how to use them. There was a lot of technical info in the replies that I have no idea about. I will be sure to check it’s value on the public key place you recommended. If there is any more help you can offer I would appreciate it greatly.

I never heard of these physical coins. Wow!. How many do you have and the value?

If you are in awe of this physical Bitcoin you certainly have not visited the "Collectibles"
section of the forum. A new world will open up for you there!

Marketplace >> Goods >> Collectibles - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0

Hello. Please excuse my lack of knowledge using a forum and a bitcoin. I was hoping someone could help me. I have a physical bitcoin that I bought in 2012. It has a hologram on the back which is intact. I was hoping that someone could help me to check the coins validity and help with how I can use the keys to put it in a wallet.

Thanks for any help possible.

As many have pointed out, The coin may be worth more "un-peeled" as in the hologram
intact than the loaded amount of Bitcoin on the physical coin.

I would suggest moving this thread to the above Collectibles section, you may get
extra info from users there, especially minerjones, yogg, Bitbollo, OgNasty or krogothmanhattan
for example i have left out tonnes of other members who have a long history on that board.

There are still a few tournaments to play before Roland Garros, currently playing are Estoril,
Portugal and Munich, Germany but I done see him listed as participating in either. After these
there is Madrid, Rome both are ATP1000 tournaments and then Geneva.

Interestingly AFAIK Alcaraz doesnt appear in either Estoril or Munich, I would say his next appearance
will be Madrid?

2853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 25, 2022, 12:14:52 PM
We have to admit that Djokovic is not the same recently many gamblers lost their bets because of him he showed really poor performance on the first and last sets he lost at least a set in all his games in belgrad atp which is unusual for him i hope he get better soon i think he can give more to tennis.

We need to understand that Djokovic has played only a few matches this year and that he is not completely ready yet.
Due to the vaccination situation, Covid Đoković could not play in many tournaments, and therefore he is not at the right level yet.
Probably everything that happened in Australia psychologically affected him as well.
I expect his level of play to rise slowly and he will be fully ready for the GS in Paris.

This tournament would have been important for Djokovic as its a home tournament
but I would say his sights are set on Roland Garros, If he gets some more matches
under him he will be fairly close to fighting fit.

Great win by Alcaraz having played his semi final on the same day. I have to say
though de Minaur gave a great account of himself to come fairly close in the semi.

^ Thats interesting and a bit random. Is that played every year between the Dragons and
Roosters? The game itself between the Dragons and Roosters was definitely a game
of two halves, Dragons only to score in the first half, 14loints and the Roosters to only
score in the second half, finishing
up 14-12.

The Storm met the Warriors with a tornado, 70-10

2855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First African country adopts Bitcoin as official currency on: April 25, 2022, 06:25:24 AM
~ Everyone knows I am a skeptic and have speculated these countries accepting bitcoin as legal tender are only doing it for publicity. However, I am presently not certain of this anymore hehe.
Understandable. They probably do not have the technology yet to fully implement this.

To be honest, I didn't know that such country exists in Africa (no offense to those who live there). Upon looking it up, it seems they do not have their own local currency just like El Salvador and also a country trying hard to recover economically. Bitcoin won't solve all their issues but it might attract some foreign investors and tourists.

Good point, whatever struggles economically exist in the country, its difficult to see
how Bitcoin can solve these in the short term. If they generally speaking need to transfer
funds, Bitcoin will be a benefit.

The Central African Republic is a landlocked country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Chad to the north, Sudan to the northeast, South Sudan to the southeast, the DR Congo to the south, the Republic of the Congo to the southwest, and Cameroon to the west. Source : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_African_Republic

They do have their own local Fiat currency ==> Central African CFA franc (XAF), Bitcoin (XBT) and they have +/- 4.83 million (2020) people living in that country.

Let's hope this spreads to the rest of Africa and that it will replace digital currencies like MPesa in Africa.... if all of this is true.  Roll Eyes

https://cryptotips.eu/en/knowledge-base/what-is-the-abbreviation-xbt/  <=== Explains XBT

If some other neighbouring countries can make the same move maybe they will strengthen
each other rather than a single country on its own.

But still the big issue exists, for example, how does the country grow financially
today after adopting Bitcoin yesterday so to speak?

In the case if El Salvador they know that much the same problems exist even after
adopting Bitcoin, creating a Bitcoin City creates a big economic opportunity.

2858  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: April 24, 2022, 04:46:37 PM
How the fuck is Russia going to replace the European market?
Russia has two options:
1. China - After Saudi Arabia, Russia is the second-largest gas & oil supplier for China.

Before anyone even starts thinking of it, here is an article from the South China Morning Post, the arm of the English language propaganda of the CCP
https://www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy/article/3172028/russian-gas-sales-china-will-not-make-loss-european-markets

Short story:
Quote
Russia exported 16.5 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas to China in 2021 via pipelines and in the form of liquefied natural gas.
However, Russia is exporting about 170 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas to the European markets every year and the prices for the two buyers are “dramatically different”, according to Mitrova. When the line is in operation by 2026, the annual supply of pipeline natural gas from Russia to China will rise to 48 bcm, nearly five times the 2021 figure.

Russia can only sell 10% of the gas it sells to Europe to China, there are not enough pipelines, and even the ones in construction expected to be finished 4 years from now will only have 1/3 of the capacity.
As for selling gas to India, good luck, there is no such thing even in construction.

As for oil, it doesn't even matter, all that Europe has to do is outbid others, let's see who can afford gas at 3 euros, the EU or Africa or South Asia.

So its all about infrastructure, which can only hold a certain capacity. This probably
goes for Europe also, is the infrastructure with suitable capacity in place to increase
supply from alternative sources?

A Russian gas ban wont be good for either Russia or Europe. Europe has pledged to
wean its self from Russian gas but I suspect it will be a gradual process
2859  Economy / Economics / Re: CBDCs really worth it? on: April 24, 2022, 09:23:36 AM
We all know that stablecoins are basically pegged with fiat currency in a 1:1 ratio, and we also know that stablecoins are extremely popular when trading cryptocurrencies because their transactions are cheap and fast, and bypass banks. This means that governments want to become competitive with their fiat in the sense of turning it into a CBDC, otherwise they could lose the race with stablecoins and Bitcoin.
The government approach is not excellent at all, or maybe of how I see CBDCs, my country created one already and I see no good need for it than to use our fiat, the CBDC created by the government in my country has its own digital wallet but not on multicoin crypto wallet, it was said that it was not even a cryptocurrency, it can not be used on exchanges ornbenstored using keys generated on crypto wallets. Government suppose to create a kind of CBDCs that can compete with USDT and other stable coins on crypto exchanges which is what the governments should do, not CBDCs that are not cryptocurrencies that have no way to compete with stable coins. Assuming the governments have their own stable coin that are cryptocurrencies, people will prefer to use it compared to using USDT and others that are just created by private companies. As USDT dominates stable coins, it can even still be freezed on noncustododial wallet. The government are taking a wrong approach in my opinion as CBDCs are just totally fiat and nothing specially added.

It seems like a pointless venture, to create CBDC's in the first place and secondly if they indeed
want to compete with the likes of USDT its not going to happen unless it can have the same
exposure as USDT.

I already use FIAT in a digital way as in I rarely use Cash, I use my smartphone and card to
pay digitally for goods, I also have a digital FIAT wallet on my smartphone.

Maybe the CBDC's are designed to bring force mote people onto a digital platform?
