It's so weird to me to read that people are disappointed with Đoković after losing the 3rd set in a final of an ATP1000 tournament against a certain top5 future player.

Đoković is 35 years old, it's so impressive on so many levels that he's still here fighting for trophies. What he, Federer and Nadal have done has somehow distorted our realities.

Rune played really well, deserved his win and showed once again that he's the future of tennis.
Yeah, same here, I'm not disappointed by the result, Rune has been playing good not just in this tournament, but in the last couple that he is in.

It just so happen that he has to face Djokovic, and we may have seen this version of Djokovic before, mentality prepared, winning the first set. But Rune has improved a lot and really be the future of tennis with Alcaraz. So another break out win for him, and I will not be surprised that this will not be his last. For Djokovic, a good maybe2-3 years that he can still play, nevertheless, the young guys are taking over now.

nope me neither, I'm not dissapointed at all, the next gen are gaining momentum and are
troubling the top 3 more and more. Djokovic, Nadal and Federer have had their time and
have done remarkably well out of it.

I can imagine if you had a MASSIVE bet on Djokovic to win that you would be dissapointed!

Yes great victory for the Jaguaretes aka Pumas Tongue

A very strange statistic two games in the same day/week/round finishing 30-29, a margin of only 1 point and the same exact result.

Who its the favourite to win the Rugby World cup?

And with such high scoring games involving top teams!

For next year's world cup I guess France will be favourites, they are currently no.2 on the world
rankings and are the current 6 Nations champions and the world cup will be a home tournament
for them.

They have been building to this for a few years and it looks like they could peak at the right
moment for it. Next in line would have to be the All Blacks.

Great series of games in the Autumn Internationals week 2....

Italy had a massive win against Samoa 49-17, Scotland did the business against Fiji 28-12,
Wales got done by New Zealand 22-55.

Ireland had a tough match against South Africa but remain at #1 after winning 19-16.

France had a very tough match against Australia, the two teams separated by 1 point 30-29.

And the shock of the week, England beaten by Argentina 29-30. This was a game I really
wanted to bet on and thought about going with the Jaguars but i didn't fully believe in them.

WRWC

Two semi finals this weekend, New Zealand beat France by 1 point and England beat Canada.

Good games from Rune vs Djokovic, the first set was relatively easy for Djokovic but the second and third sets all became so difficult for him and Rune was able to end the match well and emerge as a champion, a young star and he deserved it.

Well done to Rune, that was a great match and the third set was quite intense and the last
game even more which lasted approximately 16 minutes.

I was happy when the Rune got to 3 sets in the third, it meant my bet was safe.

This guy is the real deal, let's see what he can do in the new year!

He now qualifies for two finals competitions, Next Gen finals and ATP Finals as first alternate.

He also hits the #10 position
1865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 06, 2022, 12:21:55 PM
Djokoivc and Rune meet up for the second time after both beating their opponents in paris atp semi finals, Rune had an easy win against aliassime but djokovic had some trouble against tsitsipas i think the final will be interesting and rune might actually have a chance against djokovic in his current condition.
I am giving Rune a solid chance against Djoković and I am taking him on some handicap for sure. Brought me nice money yesterday and some more today. Have to honor him after performances like that. Yesterday was actually perfect day for me with tennis. All my singles passed as well as this free bet multi:

How come nobody is talking about WTA Masters? Sabalenka and Sakari are playing some incredible tennis as well as Swiatek but it was sort of expected from her. Whoever passes from group with Swiatek is loosing 2:0 against Sakari/Sabalenka. I am playing that one tomorrow for high stake together with Rune handicap.

I have Swiatek on a -5 against Sabalenka today, I have had a few bets on her this week,
but the others are hard to call IMO.

I also have had a few bets on Rune so far and yes he is value for money to date.
I'm giving him a solid chance too against Djokovic, +3.5 @2.25.
1866  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Question for sellers on: November 06, 2022, 07:54:58 AM
One example: people maliciously steal pictures to use as their own. If anything, this is one of the main things I think about. People will always know what it was about. All the replies show the original subject.

The issue I see with this example is that people here request the BTCtalk username and date as part of the picture taken, meaning the pictures by themselves without this won't really carry any weight here.

Correct, its actually good practice to post images with a date and username, most people
do anyway.

As for deleting posts, I find it annoying and it can prove difficult I imagine to verify certain
facts in the future.

If people are worried about privacy they can always buy items anonymously, obviously that
wouldn't work with raffles and auctions.

But in traditional auctions can't people bid "over the phone" so essentially their identity
is only known to the auction house and eventually the seller. Could something like that
work on the forum?
1867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [LAUNCHED] Bitcoincleanup.com: a website to stop Greenpeace's bitcoin FUD. on: November 06, 2022, 07:32:31 AM
Fun fact: The man whose funding all this duplicity is the former Ripple Labs CEO.

This is the company that makes the altcoin XRP.

In case you didn't know, XRP's proof of consensus is not using PoW or PoS, it's using some kinda "proof of bank" - which I call because its using servers owned by several banks to keep track of the blockchain and only those servers are allowed to contribute blocks.

A cryptocurrency mogul is funding an environment org to destroy Bitcoin (proof of work).

Let that sink in your head.

What hypocrisy, isn't it?

It makes me believe that he has something to gain by screwing around with Proof of Work - at this point its all speculation (because I don't know whether he still owns Ripple stock), but perhaps Ripple has some profit to gain from this kind of switch.

You guys know what to do. Send his campaign funds to a black hole and support bitcoincleanup.com. Medium seems to be a good grassroots vector for that, from my experimenting.

Funny that, a "cryptocurrency" who is in bed with the FIAT financial system, Bitcoin is still
seen as the thread - they are still worried.

In case you didn't know, XRP's proof of consensus is not using PoW or PoS, it's using some kinda "proof of bank"

How many altcoins are scams? Plenty. What makes this "mogul" better than the shitcoin creators that run with the money? The fact he's staying for more?
Most altcoin creators don't care about bitcoin, or, if they care, all they care is to get some of its "market share".

Unfair competition, by any means, in this case even funding Greenpeace for a false narrative is just one more facet of the "game". Ripple cannot lose anything, it already have its "reputation" amongst bitcoiners. They can win by getting Bitcoin down or they can lose, but the loss will only make Greenpeace look bad, not them. So pretty much a win-win situation, all done with some pocket money.

From what I've read (didn't double check though) there are (former?) Greenpeace members who understood the truth, but I fear we need more than one or just a few. All this crap has the potential to do worse than only hurt bitcoin (as if that wouldn't be enough), it'll make Greenpeace lose its already diminished credibility.

I used to own some Ripple years ago but got rid of it when I realised that they were closely
tied up with the banks.

Wouldn't that be some coup for Bitcoincleanup to have those Greenpeace members
willing to share their thoughts about Greenpeace's attack of Bitcoin

The match Rune vs FAA has just ended... and again Rune has been literally DEVASTATING. 6-4 / 6-2
in second set he has not given any opportunity to FAA. He has been impressive.
Yesterday against Alcaraz it was another nice match, but the Spaniard was injured and unable to fight for the whole match. However in the second set he was already loosing the tie break (3-1) when he decide to retire...

Musetti yesterday has been a bit unlucky, but he is really young so he has enough time to reach better results for sure.
Djokovic is already one of the stronger player on this tournament and it's really hard to stop on that surface.
Let's see against Tsitsi what he can do Roll Eyes

There you go now, what a devasting win by Rune.

Djokovic v Tsitsipas is in the 3rd set, I think Rune could beat Tsitsipas but what could
he do against Djokovic, very interesting match up against either.

The number 1 in the world, Carlos Alcaraz, has stopped playing tennis for the time being. He has suffered an abdominal injury and is unable to play tournaments for the time being. He can't compete in the Davis Cup on behalf of Spain either, they will miss him very much. It seems like a harmless injury, but it can last for a while. Nadal had the exact same injury during Wimbledon or the Australian Open, I don't remember. As a result, he had to give up his match in the semi-finals without taking action. I also expect a lot from Jack Sinner soon, he is at the lower top of the world, waiting for his real breakthrough soon. He is one of the tennis players who should be able to knock Alcaraz off the throne.

That's big news, he must be seriously injured?
IMO that's a small bit worrying that he has to pull out of the finals.
1869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 05, 2022, 08:28:40 AM
It seems that Holger Rune will have a chance for revenge against aliassime on the paris tournament they will meet in the semi finals tomorrow, aliassime is the favourite one but i think Rune has improved even more since their last encounter so i don't think the outcome will be the same i think we will see a three sets game.
I expected Rune to win the Swiss indoors, but Felix Augur made it an easy win. Now once again meeting in the Paris Masters semifinals. The match connect is interesting, but I don't think Rune will be able to win Felix Augur. As stated, if the match move to the third set, then we can expect more changes in the match outcome. Probably Felix will try to implement the same pattern of play as the previous one.

Felix-AA is the favorite against Rune, so I wouldn't be surprised, I'm taking him at -2.5 handicap at 1.72. It was just like Felix-AA has found his rhythm in the last 3 tournaments that he is in and even if he has to face a tough opponent, he seems to be getting the feel and beating them in like 2 sets easy.

Djokovic against Tsitsipas, not sure how mentally prepared Tsitsipas it, but let's hope that this will be a good match, although I might be skipping this and just enjoy because I will want Tsitsipas to win but it will be a difficult one against Djokovic.

Felix indeed is favourite but I think Rune has the potential for another big upset, he is on
a roll and I think the match could be closer than the odds suspect, for something different
I have gone with a +3 on Rune.

Anyone watch Musetti v Djokovic last night? It was really a one sided affair. I had Djokovic
on a -5.5 handicap at 2.1 and he won in 2 sets by 9 games.

Pity for Musetti, he was doing so well.
1870  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 🎃 Pumpkin Carving Contest -Poll- Vote Now 🎃 on: November 04, 2022, 01:09:29 PM
With a large margin in the Pumpkin Carving Contest, taufik123 is in the lead (25% votes) and the closest rival scored ~10% votes, judging by the preliminary data. I assume that the leader is unlikely to change during the week of voting, because, according to my observations, the majority cast their votes in the first days. Of course, some forum users will vote in the coming days, but their number will be smaller and it is unlikely that their votes will affect the final result. Therefore, I will very carefully congratulate the favorite on his pumpkin.

Now he will not only take all the prizes in art competitions, but also in the pumpkin competition. Smiley

Yes taufik123 should get a Pumpkin badge "If they win!!!!"

There should be a Pumpkin Badge 🎃 along with the Art badge 🖌️ and the Pizza 🍕 badge
currently held by fillippone!

Imagine being able to amalgamate all three badges, that would be something although
"2 out of 3 ain't bad"

Big round of internationals continuing this weekend, I think the pick of all the games
will be Ireland Ranked #1 v South Africa World Cup holders.

Ireland AFAIK have a full 1st team squad starting while South Africa are playing a non
natural #10 which could prove to be a weakness. It will be a tough game.

Ireland are favourites so I have a bet on "us" to win!

Some other interesting games:

Wales v New Zealand
France v Australia
England v Argentina

1872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 03, 2022, 07:57:43 PM
Carlos Alcaraz - Grigor Dimitrov

I Think Carlos Alcaraz will win the game, although he had an injury that was not even expected to participate in this tournament, he managed to participate and won the world number 38 Yoshihito Nishioka, so that gives me hope that Carlos Alcaraz can win Grigor Dimitrov who occupies the position of number 28 in the ATP ranking

Holger Rune - Andrey Rublev

Holger Rune occupies the position of number 18 in the ATP ranking, he is in a good moment of his short career, this year he won two ATP titles in Munich and Stockholm, while his opponent Andrey Rublev is in the position 9 in the ATP ranking I Think Andrey Rublev to win this game

Lorenzo Musetti - Casper Ruud

Lorenzo Musetti is in the position of number 23 in the ATP ranking, this was the best position he has ever reached in his career, he managed to beat Marin Cilic and Georgia player Nikolos Basilashvili without having many difficulties, while his opponent Casper Ruud is in the position of number 4 in the ATP ranking, in my opinion Lorenzo Musetti will win this game

And Holger Rune win again!
Only in two sets and he has not much difficult against Rublev. 6-4 7-5

The match was essentially easy for him (against Wawrinka it was completely another kind of effort).
Despite he was not the favorite he has been able to compete at a really high level even today...

Meanwhile nice win by Musetti (it was not easy at all) and by Alcaraz!

Ah bitbollo I can imagine you are happy with that win by Musetti! he is actually playing well now.

But Rune - he is looking very dangerous now and plays his former junior doubles partner tomorrow!
Alcaraz. I'm not betting on that one but I could see Rune posing serious trouble for Alcaraz.
1873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 03, 2022, 06:34:03 AM
The match between Paul and Nadal is about to start. Nadal is the clear favourite in this match. Especially since Paul is currently going through a weak phase at the end of the season. He has won against Bautista Agut before. But Bautista had not shown a good performance. And so far Paul has always been knocked out in the second round in Paris. That will probably be the case again this time.

Not so!
Paul is through after beating Nadal in 3 sets. I saw the first set and thought Nadal's serve
was not great, he was giving a lot of errors there. Paul broke Nadal in the first game of
the first set but Nadal still won that, Paul won the second in a tie break and surprisingly won
the third 6-1. Bear in mind Nadal had a lengthy a sense from the tour and was was back here
to get some game time in for the finals.

I was going to bet on this match but didn't know which way to go so I held off, I probably
would have gone with Nadal though.

Nice one Trofo, I wouldn't feel comfortable betting on Dimitrov TBH.

Just watched Fritz v Simon, Gilles has won another match to knock Fritz out, this is a bit
of a fairytale last tournament for him, I dont think many people expected him to go this far.

Back on Rune, he knocked out Hurkacz and with Felix AA just about winning today it means
he goes through to the ATP finals!

I had three bets on today, Medvedev, Felix AA and Alcaraz
1875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: <Bitcoin Creation> Dr. Craig Faketoshi Failed another Satoshi Test Again. on: November 02, 2022, 06:39:08 PM
If Craig is Satoshi and Satoshi is a liar then all it's clear now  Grin

I don't know why that guy keeps up on a fight that he knows it's impossible to win, he is just wasting time and money for nothing, if he really was Satoshi then should focus in how to make bitcoin better and not keep pushing with his fork, he is just trying to steal others work and failing hard in the process.

Eventually it will all come to a head or as we say here "run out of road" and the overwhelming
opinion by EVERYBODY will come to bear so heavy on him and his backers they there will be no
smoke and mirrors, no shady tricks or sleight of hand dealings to rely on - it's just a matter
of time - the clock is ticking.
1876  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 🎃 [ANN] Bitcointalk Bitcoin Pumpkin Carving Contest 🎃 on: November 02, 2022, 08:54:50 AM

Rules - The only rule is that your creation has to include some sort of pumpkin, gourd, squash or something of that ilk.  If you want to incorporate 3D printed stuff, NFT's, coins, whatever, all the better!  There will only be one entry per person (but this can include a bulk of items together (i.e. a 3 pumpkin set with a drawing next to it, for example).

Edit:
As for the rules, yes , it MUST be bitcoin related in some fashion. If it’s just some regular pumpkin, without any bitcoin anything connected to it, it does not qualify.

A bit pity that the rules of the contest were updated right after the submission date has passed Smiley

Nope, as mentioned before the thread title really does point out what the contest is about,
also on page 4 ChiBitCTy directed people to include Bitcoin in their work. I can't understand
how anyone could submit work into a "Bitcoin" themed contest without actually having anything
related to Bitcoin....

Love the posts but guys…please read the rules if you want to be eligible for prizes. Most people aren’t following them. BTC must be incorporated in some way. Being a btc forum it’s kinda the whole point. I created a second contest to try and make this doable for anyone in the world who can have US items sent to them. But whether in contest one or two, need to be btc related please.  Awesome stuff tho !
1877  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: THE UNNECESSARY PRESSURE FOR MERITS on: November 02, 2022, 07:18:40 AM
The forum, is just like every other online forum or group
You can't have an extra income from posting in every other online forum. You can't call the administrator an asshole without punishment in every other online forum. Every other online forum doesn't have sixty million written messages in its board. Bitcointalk is different. It has character.

I still don't find the title very relevant.

The title is only relevant for newbies and the competition they think they are in to rang up
in all sorts of ways just as Upgrade00 posted.

It is totally unnecessary to be so focussed on the merit system, patience and taking
the time to learn are important aspects to growing into the forum.

it's true though that the forum is very different from others. We have to have the
largest community online ??
1878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 02, 2022, 06:43:08 AM
It was a busy day yesterday and another today with some very interesting matches to come
particularly keeping an eye on Rublev and Hurkacz who are in the race for the ATP finals.
Both won over their opponents yesterday so the two of them are still fighting to get into Turin.
Can't believe that Coric lost against Moutet and it's totally unexpected not watching this match, but I'm sure enough to put this match in a multi bet but sadly the outcome of the match spoiled the bet.

From what I think or remember of Moutet, he tends to have great performances at "home"
tournaments.

I watched the Rune Wawrinka match last night and was hoping my bet on Stan would pay
but he lost in a third set tie break to Rune.

Stan has been a long time favourite of mine and seems to be getting back in shape but Rune
has a lot of confidence lately and now faces Hurkacz, who himself needs to win this one.

All the big guns are in action today, Alcaraz, Djoko, Medvedev and Nadal.
1879  Other / Meta / Re: The Reason why you chose your username on: November 01, 2022, 10:24:30 PM
Pretty simple — I chose my username simply because the 3 characters sort of relates to me in some way, but at the same time with it not giving away any details about my personal information. But really, I don't know why people on Bitcointalk sort of over-analyzes usernames; it's really not that important at all.

In general with my usernames outside of Bitcointalk though? I mostly just use random crap lol.

and I always thought it was car related, I always think of the Ford Escort mk4, particularly
the XR3i

Will we see more of this type of celebration? anyway, congratulations to Daniil Medvedev, quick question: Daniil Medvedev is Russian, how was he not covered by the sanctions? or in tennis did not put sanctions against Russians?

That's actually a good point, never thought about it but yes, celebrations in different sports are really different. I would have never expected this type of celebration in tennis, which is usually seen as more formal, whereas in F1 you often see this kind of informal celebrations.

I'm surprised they didn't get into any troubles with the organizers since they have so many rules about everything, even what you can wear, etc.

It was a big celebration for Medvedev because he qualified for the ATP finals after
winning the title. It's different to see such a celebration, maybe there was no specific
rule about spraying Champagne, I can only think if there are matches to follow the court
would have to be cleaned, IDK?

We watched the match last night between Murray and Simon which turned into a 3 set
battle with Gilles Simon winning.

I was surprised to see Gilles playing but this is his last tournament.

It was a busy day yesterday and another today with some very interesting matches to come
particularly keeping an eye on Rublev and Hurkacz who are in the race for the ATP finals.
