Wow yes I didn't see that coming at all, up until that the only 2 unbeaten players were
Stricker and Nakashima. Lehecka played a great game, I only saw the last set but I could
see the frustration in Stricker.

Anyway Nakashima got through in 4 sets, I think I will put a bet on Brandon, it will be close
and they are ranked 4 and 5 in these finals.
That was a real final. You were able to win the bet on Brandon. Every set had hard fightback and Brandon didn't leave it easier.  Finally 47-35 48-36 4-2 win for him to lift the Next Gen ATP Finals Trophy. The match ended in the third set, but it was a game that lasted long as four sets.

Yes that was a solid win from Brandon, I didn't watch it because there was too much Rugby
on yesterday but I kept an eye on the scoreboard.

He did really well to come back from being 3-1 down in the first set to win it. He deserves it
purely by being unbeaten throughout the tournament.

I did well with both him and Stricker.

Now on to the ATP Finals !

1843  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX has been hacked, delete the app, don't go to website on: November 12, 2022, 07:43:04 AM
What you need to consider is that there is some kind of exchange war going on, so there is a good reason for other exchanges to spread lies to get a competitor down. Still I would never touch anything of ftx.

That competitor was down already, the likely scenario is that it was an inside job
as o_e_l_e_o suggested. It makes perfect sense, why hasn't FTX been hacked
before this, I mean I'm sure there were attacks of the platform in the past.

I have deleted the app as directed, luckily I have no funds on FTX  or any other exchange

Hey,
Yes! I want the spot  Wink Thanks

That's great mx12.levins, welcome!

When you have done your page make contact with Timelord for a postal address
and let me know in the thread or by PM when you have despatched it.

Geo, you just missed out on that spot!

And again - I would recommend using a tracked postal service when sending the book!
It's becoming more valuable and irreplaceable as it passed to the next person. no disrespect
to the first and second in line

1845  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [LIVE] 🌍🌎🌏 Community group participation - Bitcoin Colouring Book - 1 Spot re on: November 11, 2022, 07:02:25 PM
Could be a lot of fun )

Do you want that last spot mx12.levins? if yes and are in Europe contact Remsjack before
it's sent to Australia.

if no geophphreigh gets the spot.

2 matches scheduled for today in the Next Gen finals:

Stricker v Lehecka
Nakashima v Draper

I have a bet on Stricker to win @ 1.43, he really is powering through his games and I think
that's a good price.

But I'm not betting on the second match, it's too hard to call, Maybe Nakashima will
get through, I think he has been marginally better than Draper.
1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: November 11, 2022, 07:19:42 AM
That's a fairly busy schedule covering Men's, women's and wheelchair games. I have taken
my eye off the RLWC but I have 2 bets on for this weekend, England to beat Samoa
and Australia to beat New Zealand. The odds are OK but not brilliant, Australia 1.2 and
England 1.34. For me I would imagine either of these are going to win the final.

Timelord do you have an outright bet placed?
1848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many chickens own BTC. Don't be a chicken, HODL! The strong hands will win. on: November 10, 2022, 08:22:20 PM
Haven't even heard about FTX until now lol. This shows how panicked I am Grin

Just for those who are wondering: the reason why a lot of people don't know about FTX despite it being a huge exchange, is that FTX's user demographic are mostly akin actual traders who know what they're doing — compared to the typical Binance user which is a lot more "retail-y"(for a lack of a better word).

I only know FTX from using BLOCKFOLIO. I have been using BF for a few years to track
my wallet contents and then with the rebranding to FTX last year I kept it going. I never traded
on the platform.

This is the real issue BTC is facing. Chickens get afraid and sell even if they lose their money. They don't even understand how crypto works.

I've never sold a satoshi since 2013. I know BTC will rise back and one day will hit the 100k and beyond. In a way I'm glad this is happening, more strong hands and less chickens. HODL! Hoping to buy more if it gets down to 10k.

Haven't even heard about FTX until now lol. This shows how panicked I am Grin

1 BTC = 1 BTC. That's all you need to know. Less drama, live longer.

Anyone who has held bitcoin for just about any length of time is way ahead of people in fiat, stocks, bonds etc.  Between inflation and authoritarian kleptocrats around the world, there are few safe havens.  PMs and bitcoin being the main ones.  I did sell some between 58k and 62k, but I have only sold rarely since 2010.

I wonder how many people will get the message over the next few months when things get
more difficult?

On Chickens, I see where the OP is coming from, there are definitely panic sellers but it also
the markets being heavily leveraged which has an effect at times like these as trades get
liquidated which drives the price down.
1849  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 🎃 Pumpkin Carving Contest -Poll- Vote Now 🎃 on: November 10, 2022, 01:25:52 PM
Posted this in the other contest thread..

There are contestants in this particular contest whom are private messaging members who they don't even know trying to get them to vote for their work.  I specifically said no manipulating of votes in any way, no begging for votes etc.  I believe I'm going to disqualify this person but not sure if that's the exact course of action to take.

What I can/will say for right now, STOP IT.  Do not randomly bug people to vote for you.  It's against the rules of the contest as well as against forum rules.

That beggars belief that people would do that, but yea I suppose there are cheaters everywhere.

I know there are finalities to do with Theymos but there is a clear winner.

Great competition and well done to ChiBitCTy for hosting.
1850  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [LIVE] 🌍🌎🌏 Community group participation - Bitcoin Colouring Book - FULL on: November 10, 2022, 01:15:47 PM
One item, I was reading this thread and saw that my name was on the list.  I apologize, but my input was a suggestion about reaching out to Max and Stacy, or other Bitcoin celebrity. I am not that artistic and was not intending to volunteer:

"I like the idea, but had another variation to throw out there....  What if you were able to contact some of the big influencers in Bitcoin?  What if you got them to color a page or so, and sign it?   Then auction the coloring book off for a charity?   I know it's a bit far fetched, but figured people on this forum could maybe have some contacts and that would make it way more valuable, plus would make the remaining ones more valuable as well."

I did reach out to Slumberjack and he might be interested, but I wanted to see if anyone else would like to take my spot.

Again, I apologize for any misunderstanding.

No problem at all Mark and thanks for clarifying.

@mx12.levins perhaps? Grin

Yes possibly! or anyone else is welcome. I have changed the thread title.

I'm looking forward to receiving the colouring in book in the not too distant future.  Hopefully I'll have it over the Christmas & New Year period, so there *might* be some added flair (who knows - I'm handing the book over to proper artists to fill in the blanks).

Will keep you all posted when the item arrives.

Nice one T, yea you could be lucky and have it over the holiday period.
1851  Economy / Speculation / Re: I hope this Bitcoin dip won't be deeper? on: November 10, 2022, 01:12:35 PM
Gotta ask the question

Is Bitcoin ever going to rise above $20k ever again let alone reaching the ATH of $69k?

Depending what you believe that will determine how you move to buy, HODL or sell.

This has happened countless times before and still the markets bounce back to New ATH's,
just takes time and patience
1852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 10, 2022, 06:37:06 AM
^^ What do you think of Musetti's chances against Stricker? Not familiar with Stricker though. The current odds is for Musetti at -3.5 at 1.90. But Stricker at +3.5 seems to be the at 1.80. So really hard to bet on this one.

I might go with Nakashima against Lehecka here, -2.5 will be a great odd at 1.80 for me.

Best of luck everyone.

Well I thought Musetti would win, I was thinking of a 75% chance and a close win at that
so I did that +3,5 handicap on Striker.

After taking the first 2 sets and into the third set tie break I thought he was home and dry
but Musetti came back to level it 2 sets each, I knew my bet was safe then.

But Stricker won!

@Trofo - yes both players lost their cool, Musetti got a warning for it. The pressure was
building on Stricker as he failed to take the match in the third and fourth set tie breaks but
overall to me he looked more able to deal with what was going on than Musetti who
was fairly emotional.

I' going again today with wins for Nakashima and Stricker.
1853  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance buying FTX on: November 09, 2022, 07:37:02 PM
It should concern everyone that one person has the power to completely destroy a rival exchange with a few tweets. It should concern everyone more that this same person has previously wanted to 51% attack bitcoin in order to rewrite the history of the blockchain to suit his own personal desires.
This is certainly true, everyone should think more about it, and let's not forget that he created his own centralized blockchain so he can do whatever he wants there, even creating fake bitcoin for supposed ''lower fees''.
CZ is taking down any competition and he wants to have full control over Bitcoin trading, but I think there are forces behind the scenes who support him in his actions.
It's best to stop using all centralized exchanges, and developers should focus more on improving available dex exchanges or on making new better ones.

The plot thickens: according to Coindesk, Binance is considering to back down from FTX takeover. Seems like situation is far worse than initially thought if they are really thinking about not going through with it. I hope it isn't true, for the sake of all people who still have money there.
Isn't it weird that at the same time we are having twitter takeover by Musk?
It looks to me that world is going towards more centralization of power and money, biggest price of this will probably pay regular people and middle class.
Crazy thing to think that for some people CZ and Musk are now some kind of heroes.

They are not heroes of mine, that's for sure.
I agree that things are becoming more "centralised" and as always regular people will pick up the costs.

This is another lesson for sure on the dangers of using centralised exchanges and we all
should pursue the use of DEX's.

This thread is a real eye opener into the dealings and moves of both Binance and CZ.

Anyone following the ATP Next Gen Finals?

I'm following, although I'm new to tennis betting, I must confess that I get sleepy when I tried to watch every tennis game, so for now I prefer to bet before the game starts and I'm not doing live bets

for today's games:

Matteo Arnaldi - Francesco Passaro

I think Matteo Arnaldi will win this game, bookmakers are also giving Matteo Arnaldi as a favorite and I saw some news and tennis analysis sites giving Matteo Arnaldi as a favorite, but this odd is still low and risky and that's why reason I won't bet, if today I were to make a multibet bet with absolute certainty that I would put Matteo Arnaldi in the my parlay

Brandon Nakashima - Jiri Lehecka

I also think that the favorite by the bookmakers will win, I mean Nakashima will win this game, from what I read of the performance of the two, I believe that Nakashima has a greater chance of being victorious

Jack Draper - Tseng Chun-hsin

I don't have much to say about this game, Jack Draper will win

Lorenzo Musetti - Dominic Stricker

Lorenzo Musetti will win that game, I'll still think if making a multibet bet with those 4 teams would be a good idea, I'll still think

I watched the match last night between Draper and Striker and Striker is seriously talented,
he beat Draper in 3 sets with 3 tie breaks 5-7, 5-7, 5-7.

I have a bet on Striker for today +3.5 @ 1.86.

Also on Nakashima to beat Lehecka today.

Musetti today won easily against Tseng (4-2 4-2 4-2).

The Italian player is in a good condition and can perform a good tournament also because... he is playing at "home" here in Milano (Italy) Wink ....There is a lot of support for him even after the recent positive results...

I had a bet on Musetti yesterday and on Nakashima who had trouble getting past the
other Italian Arnaldo. Italian Tennis is very strong ATM.
1855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: November 09, 2022, 07:12:17 AM
Rugby Union

Plenty of international games to look forward to this coming weekend.

Autumn Internationals

Ireland v Fiji
Italy v Australia
England v Japan
Wales v Argentina
France v South Africa
Scotland v New Zealand

The match of the weekend has to be France v South Africa, Six Nations champions v
World cup champions, It will be a close game with France the favourite.

Another close game should be Wales v Argentina, these should be evenly matched but
Argentina will be looking to build on that big win from las weekend.

Women's Rugby World Cup

The grand final takes place on Saturday, New Zealand v England. Being a home tournament
for the Black Ferns they are not the favourites, this has the makings of being a great final, is there
is a value bet on for New Zealand @ 2.73 ?

UPDATE

giammangiato has finished their page and Remsjack has taken possession. The book will be
leaving Europe soon and heading to Australia.

I would recommend using tracking service to send it to next in line. There is already a good
bit of time and energy gone into the first two pages, it would be a shame to see that lost.
1857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Rise of Dollar is Affecting Nigerians to Buy Bitcoin Right Now. on: November 08, 2022, 06:50:05 PM
I don't think it's only Nigeria. A lot of countries are facing the same issue, especially if the trades are going through licensed exchanges. Some countries are obviously facing more 8ssues due to the devaluation of their own currency like Nigeria but more or less it's same for other countries as well.

Despite this odd, I personally think, it's a good time to buy bitcoin if you have long term outlook. Yes, you will have to shell out more money but that will be worth in long term.

Yes, because Bitcoin is widely priced in $'s anyone buying is at the mercy of the markets.

I was delighted to hear that the OP has stated:
Quote
But time will come I will not regret

We are getting nearer the halving and the run up to it so the clock is ticking on discounted
Bitcoin pricing.

Anyone following the ATP Next Gen Finals?

First match is up and running between Lehecka and Passaro, 3 more to follow:

Musetti v Tseng
Arnaldo v Nakashima
Draper v Striker

For me there are 3 which stand out Nakashima, Draper and Musetti and I think Musetti
has a good chance of winning this, he is ranked #2.
