No problem. Worth a go. Thanks for getting back to me Smiley

Hi sidehack, I've got a dead U3 would the chips be any good for a USB stick? I'd like one but obviously can't get them anymore. Would it be able to be run from a standard hub (non powered) through an Antrouter?

Thanks.

This sounds like it, i've had the same symptoms (on the PC since I don't have a R1)

That would explain all the issues I'm having with it not being recognised then. Well I'll be taking it apart if anyone wants any parts?
2864  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: March 28, 2016, 03:40:04 PM
Ok someone please help me. Ive got the power distribution board that klintay sent me working and both U3's are hooked up and all lights are on (power and usb sides) but still the R1 is only showing one U3. Ive tried plugging one in at a time, powering off the r1 between connecting each one and any other variable I can think of.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Edit:-

Plugged the one in to the laptop and tried to run it through cgminer and cgminer wont load. It comes up with the first line then doesn't load until I unplug the U3. Ive just loaded it again while writing this and it says "MTX Icarus something". Also when it loads (after ive unplugged the U30 it says "AMU 0: write voltage comms error werr=-4 amount=0     Failed to set frequency, too much overclock?"

Now I haven't changed the settings since I last had it connected to cgminer before I got the R1. Would all that mean ive got a dead U3 now?

THanks.

Go back through this thread RichBC took his apart and I think it was him who fixed a prong issue aswell.

Blimey. I can't get mine past 137M. Otherwise it just read 0.18ghs or so.

Have you still got it running with an external power supply?

Bravo Fefox! Whats your secret? Some super duper code you've written yourself?

No problem, thanks for setting it up  Smiley

I wonder just how many R1 owners are on the forum?
2870  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 25, 2016, 07:46:35 PM
I just didn't want to risk damaging it if the rewards were not much better.  According to the dashboard of the s3 my current avg hash was 513

At 250M mone would hash around 498-502Ghs over the course of 3-4 days.

Thought id jump on aswell so I can see what kind of best share this thing makes. But I cant get the webpage to work. Works on my btc address but not with the worker suffix.

By all means if you want to try then its upto you but youd need to run it at the new frequency for a day or so to see what the average hashrate is so you can see the difference.
2873  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 25, 2016, 07:14:17 PM
Personally I wouldn't go anymore than 250M I ran one of my S3+ for a couple of months and one of the chips is now gone. Now got both of them at 243M and have been stable for a month or so. Both hashing at around 480Ghs.

Where are you getting that info on the hashrate?

ck solopool offers stats-pages for users and individual workers for each user

One User and all workers of that user: http://solo.ckpool.org/users/16A1Uv77mS3v1iGReQgSHfEbdiTNFhm6b5
One specific worker form a user: http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/16A1Uv77mS3v1iGReQgSHfEbdiTNFhm6b5_Ant1

With that i can build a PHP Page

Sweet. Didn't know about that page. Thanks

Both U3s will work independently of connecting one at a time I've tried connecting them and then plugging the r1 in. I've tried plugging the USB 3 into the USB 2 and still the same. They aren't powered hub because I thought the u3 didn't need power as it has its own supply. They even say that you can connect multiple u3's with a hub in the manual.

again out of my depth here...but is your laptop 2.0 or 3.0 .....you'd think it would work with a 3.0 powered hub on either.

(others on here I'm flailing beyond my knowledge base)

My laptop has two of each USB ports but the R1 and U3's are independent of the laptop. The R1 is plugged in the mains with an ethernet socket to the router. It hashes fine on its own and with a USB hub (2.0 or 3.0) it will pick up one U3 on the hub. But it won't pick up a second on the hub. Both U3's work independently if only one was plugged in but as soon as I plug in two it won't see it.

zOU, I've bought a cheap USB 2.0 hub and it still doesn't pick up more than one U3 Sad

I'm at my wits end, I bought the R1 so I could have a at least a couple of U3's hashing away (although slow) rather than go to the expense of a Rpi and associated gear.

If I had 50Th of my own gear is rent all the time aswell. But ant afford to seeing as my little S3's don't pull in much of a share. I rent from time to time but never see a return on it. Not unless we hit double blocks which is rare these days for some reason.

I get a fair bit of rejected work when I rent. I rent nicehash in Europe and point it to bitminters eu server but still get more than I normally do on my own gear. Must be something to do with what miners are selected and if they keep switching miners to keep you at your Th/s request.
