2881  Other / Off-topic / Re: At what thresholds would you change your Bitcoin security? on: November 14, 2014, 09:27:08 AM
I'm about the same because anything more than 2BTC is difficult to spend immediately so it's a good idea to stash it, also I'd seriously consider investing in some sort of passive income with that amount of money.
2882  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org Is Currently Offline Due to DOS on: November 14, 2014, 07:52:16 AM

I wounder why someone would want to DOS them?  Undecided

Some idiot probably thinks taking down this server takes down all of bitcoin.  Roll Eyes

LOL probably, but there's all sorts of emails and information here that they can get their hands on plus some people will clearly want to just take it down for giggles.
2883  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org Is Currently Offline Due to DOS on: November 14, 2014, 07:13:44 AM
It was down for a while a few hours ago.

Can confirm that myself, it definitely went down and these kind of attacks have happened before.
2884  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-11-13] CNBC Video: Meet the blockchain ** WTF ;-D ?! ** on: November 14, 2014, 06:44:30 AM
That was actually good, wtf?
2885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ISIS to create own coin. How can we convince to use Bitcoin? on: November 14, 2014, 04:33:50 AM
Fuck ISIS, that's all there is to say really, I say we should donate Bitcoin to the PKK so they can have more resources to fight them, the fact though that even ISIS refuses to use the dollar says something lol.

That's the Kurdistan Worker's Party for you uninformed individuals, they're allies of the Kurdish government and fight against ISIS and Turkey.
2886  Economy / Speculation / Re: BPI is now $451.46 on: November 14, 2014, 04:26:04 AM
Yep, I'll be fine, in fact, considering it's basically only us that seem to genuinely believe the crash is going to happen we'll probably end up getting rich off it so I'll be able to support my family members once they lose all their money.

2888  Other / Meta / Re: Growing number of necro posters are taking advantage of old threads on: November 13, 2014, 05:34:16 PM
I've decided I will show no mercy to these guys because they're clearly spamming, if they have a problem with it they can show themselves as real users and complain.
2889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Support OpenBazaar!!! on: November 13, 2014, 05:20:22 PM
OpenBazaar shares would ruin the whole point of it being open source and decentralised, if you want shares then get the OpenBazaar code and start your own company.
2890  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best multiplayer Game You played? on: November 13, 2014, 01:05:30 PM
I don't understand how they managed to fuck it up so badly if they actually cared about the series, which basically screams to me that they don't actually give a shit because they continue to post up their community updates like games developers do and act as if they're in complete denial.

Thats why I'm avoiding hyped games.
They only improved a few things, messed around with other things and there are things that even didn't got changed(like the heli model and texture).

I can't even play BF3 anymore now because in the most recent update they screwed up the punkbuster processes so it'll be several months of them being in denial before it ever gets fixed yet again.
2891  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UN Shuts Down the Entitled Claims of 'Oppression' by Mike Brown's Parents on: November 13, 2014, 12:40:13 PM
Still sticking with the Anarchist plan of setting up a fort and letting these violent psychopaths kill each other off while the rest of us live in peace, the problem is niether side is going to listen to reason or even think so what else can you do? Best thing I ever saw about police violence was this recent daily show episode where one of the anchors did an interview and pointed at the two white guys saying they were both cops and it turned out they weren't lol Cheesy

For those who are willing to listen and not let this just devolve into another investigation into the crime, it's not actually about race anymore, this is about police oppression of the people and governments being paranoid race is just what the ruling classes use to divide us and the stupid fall for it.
2892  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best multiplayer Game You played? on: November 13, 2014, 10:41:31 AM
Well it's tough to decide, but i'm more of a BF guy

however i think BF4 jumped the gun with being released, it still has problems

but there's always BF3.

It is funny how previous game is a lot better than its sequel. It is funny and sad at the same time. BF3 was not perfect but it is still so better than Bf4 even after a year of patching.

I don't understand how they managed to fuck it up so badly if they actually cared about the series, which basically screams to me that they don't actually give a shit because they continue to post up their community updates like games developers do and act as if they're in complete denial.

2894  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much would it cost to build my own lab? on: November 13, 2014, 09:48:03 AM
Depends on what experiments your planning on and are these actual experiments or just code word for drug labs? Tongue

In any case, depending on what you are doing if you are dealing with stuff that can emit fumes when they react you'll probably need a room/building you can alter so you can have a fume cupboard and so on.

This has nothing to do with your statement that "this 'majority' of holders doesn't have very much production and wealth coming from their countries"

It does, you're just choosing to ignore it all as I expected and you clearly have an incorrect or very little knowledge of currency history.
2897  Economy / Speculation / Re: BPI is now $451.46 on: November 13, 2014, 08:38:42 AM
A stock market crash will certainly trigger a rise past $600 for sure but it's going to take something fairly big this time because of the volume we have now, meanwhile, enjoy the cheap prices Wink
2898  Economy / Economics / Re: Canada joins the dollar dumping team, signs a deal with China to bypass it on: November 13, 2014, 12:45:40 AM
The problem is this 'majority' of holders doesn't have very much production and wealth coming from their countries so all they're really holding is paper,
Got any sources for this ridiculous statement?

Well you asked for it Wink

http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2013/01/the-real-reasons-that-germany-is-demanding-that-the-u-s-return-its-gold.html

http://nsnbc.me/2013/07/31/mystery-about-germany%C2%B4s-gold-in-the-us-solved/

If you knew anything about history, you'd know that at one time the dollar was backed by a 1:1 ratio of Gold and the same was to be the case for the other currencies and also a ratio on how much of a savers account can be lent out to a borrower. However now there are either very loose limits or no limits at all and we have absolutely no idea where necessarily all the precious metals have gone, even here in the UK Gordon Brown actually sold off 40% of the gold reserves so we don't know where that's gone off to either and as I said before Germany is trying to get it's gold back. Switzerland is also having a vote on the repatriation of it's gold to get it back because all the countries are now realising what America is up to and they're trying to find out what happened to their precious metals.

ooooo! Found this little gem I'm going to do more background research on, gold reserve act of 1934

“Each time you want to check the balance of a cold wallet, you’re making it less cold,”

This quote caught me as completely fabricated

Stupidest thing I've heard all week, and I looked in the n00b section earlier, even some of them know you don't have to load your wallet software to see how much is at particular addresses.

Isn't that the whole reason the blockchain was invented in the first place? We see threads on here all the time of obsessive people looking at particularly large transactions going from place to place.
2900  Economy / Economics / Re: Canada joins the dollar dumping team, signs a deal with China to bypass it on: November 12, 2014, 09:46:02 PM
Is there a dollar dumping team?
Looking at the USD reserves held outside the US, I think they are easily outnumbered by the dollar hoarding team.

The problem is this 'majority' of holders doesn't have very much production and wealth coming from their countries so all they're really holding is paper, America took the gold of most of these countries ages ago in return for USD.
