301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: any ltc pool using Getwork on: November 25, 2013, 03:00:46 PM
Yeah I agree, the info is kind of hidden within the "Getting Started" page.

Anyways, the Getwork node is located at url: netcodepool.org:8337.  If you wanted to switch to the Stratum node for any reason, it's located at stratum+tcp://www.netcodepool.org:3333

I use the Stratum node when mining with my regular miner (AMD), and use the Getwork when mining with my nVidia cards, since I can never seem to get cudaminer to work well on Stratum, but works perfectly well on the Getwork nodes.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: any ltc pool using Getwork on: November 25, 2013, 07:08:19 AM
http://www.netcodepool.org still has a Getwork node, and according to the stats, 15% of the users are still using it.
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: November 20, 2013, 02:32:54 PM
So although I still think Bitcoin will die [and ixCoin will take over]

That is the most absurd thing I have read on these forums to date.

You should read more of Vlad's posts.  You haven't seen anything yet  Smiley

I just have to ask, is JohnnyBigs yet another one of Vlad's sock puppet accounts?   He sounds alot like how he was wording IXC2XIC or whatever the name of his last sock puppet he came out of the closet with.

305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Mining - Need a little bit of advice. on: November 13, 2013, 06:19:29 PM
I don't know about the other pools, but on the pool I use netcodepool.org.  we have a forum site, and everyone lists what Video cards they are using, what settings they use, and the hash rates they are getting with those cards.  It might be worth your while joining if for nothing else to be able to read the forums.  There is enough info there to get you started anyways.
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I transmutate altcoins into real money? Can it be other than USdollars? on: November 13, 2013, 06:14:30 PM
Go to http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/

look under the category for Market. This is list a bunch of them, and give the links for the sites.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Mining - Need a little bit of advice. on: November 13, 2013, 05:10:13 PM
Here's what I use to use when I was mining with my NVidia cards.  I have now switched to AMD, because it's true, AMD GPU's work a lot better for hashing, but I still prefer NVidia for gaming.

cudaminer.exe -C 0 -i 0 -o http://netcodepool.org:8337 -O username.minername:password

Tweak it to the pool of your choice.  Or join the Netcode pool and all you have to change is your name/password

Well my holdings atm are not very high I admit.  I currently only have 2000 Bottlecaps in my wallet.  I am trying my best with the Apocalypse Pete's store.  I am going to check the stores around here and add a few more cards, since the iTunes cards failed (Since I can only get ones for use in Canada).  I am thinking Google Play, Facebook, Karma Coin, and maybe a few others that I can see.  So far Apocalypse Pete's has had 2 orders, 1 that couldn't be filled because of the Canadian iTunes thing, the other failed because the guy wanted to use BTC, and I only want to take Bottlecaps, LTC, CGB or DGC.  I might add a few more currencies, but am hoping to push the alt currencies, not the big ones.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fully Proof of Stake Altcoin? on: November 12, 2013, 04:18:38 PM
Once the altcoins jump to fully POS, they should be fairly secure, even more secure than a PoW only coin, as the only way to attack a coin would be to own a large percentage of coindays than the rest of the network.  For example, if I had 10,000 coins and owned then for 50 days, someone wanting to 51% attack the network would need to have 500,000 coin days just to overtake me, let alone everyone else on the network.  It can be done, but would be economic suicide, as there is no way you would get your coins out before someone noticed and the currency went belly up.  PoW attack is cheaper, because if you do/don't succeed, you still have all the mining equipment you used to pull off the attack.  PoS attacks leave all your coins stuck in a dead currency.

I like the old name, am semi interested in the rebranding to Cappuccino if that name sticks, and a cool looking coffee cup logo.  But most of all, I am liking the renewed interest in the coin.  It seemed like everyone had forgotten about it, and it was falling off every website out there.  Glad it looks like it has a bit of life in it again.

Nope scrypt is measured in Kh/s not Mh/s.

I am guessing you didn't download and install the NVidia CUDA SDK.  It's located here:

https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads

What can I say, with the logo ect, it stands out, much like Bottlecaps do.  Last thing I want Caps to do is follow the altcoin trend to look like everything else out there.

Those are some cool looking Cup/Cap logos.  I could get behind the Cappuccino movement.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: November 10, 2013, 02:32:09 AM
I still don't see the reasoning behind why you think if BTC takes off, that all other alts will be suddenly crushed.  In my mind it's going to be the other way around.  Actually having a crypto-currency take off, and having thousands of additional users will mean only good things for alts.  A few might make it into more places of business, and if the price of BTC did spike, a lot of the population will be annoyed dealing with 0.00002 of a currency unit.  Sure there is the Satoshi to deal with it, but it will open it up for some other alts for day to day purchases.

And NO Vlad, not every non-technical person is going to run out and purchase an ASIC miner, and start using BTC.  Since ASIC's have arrived, mining BTC is slowly slipping more and more out of the individual hands and it's going big business.  Another reason a lot of people are behind the smaller alts.  It's kind of funny watching something that was created to shut down big business controlling them/their money, only to watch the same people bow down to the dollar when money starts coming in.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scrypt.exe without preentered pool? on: November 10, 2013, 02:22:29 AM
I don't CPU mine, but I googled it, and here is what I came up with.

minerd-avx.exe -a scrypt -o http://localhost:17687 -u name -p password

318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: November 10, 2013, 01:59:05 AM
Actually the LTC difficulty has more than doubled in the last 3 months or so, as 500 was the norm for the longest time, now it bounces between 1000-1200.  The price was just really slow to catch up, as there were a few hick-ups along the way, not that BTC didn't have the same problems.  Difficulty went up from 11 mil to 300 mil, yet the price had dropped to the $80 mark for a while.  Now both currencies have gotten over loosing their biggest drug trading sites, and the prices are both going up finally.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scrypt.exe without preentered pool? on: November 10, 2013, 01:42:47 AM
There is no scrypt.exe

You run programs like cgminer for pools, with flags like this:

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://www.bottlecapspool.com:3353 -u Vivisector999.name -p password

If you want to use NVidia GPU's, like you mentioned, you will need to download a program like cudaminer, and run a batch file like this:

cudaminer.exe -C 0 -i 0 -o http://netcodepool.org:8337 -O Vivisector999.name:password
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps v1.5.2 Just Released Checkpoint Node New Wallet Design! Please Update on: November 09, 2013, 05:47:41 PM
If it was between the 2, I would definitely pick Cappuccino.  I like the branding ideas, and if your going to try to link to some industry, might as well be a nice big one.  Now to get Starbucks and Tim Hortons on our side.  lol.  CapCoins to me has no ring whatsoever.  Sure you can say the top 10 Cryptocurrencies are named with Coin at the end.  But 95% of all the currencies have Coin at the end, so the odds are in your favor.
