301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: September 13, 2018, 04:41:04 PM
Batch 2 z9 minis checking in.

Both stable at 675

Seeing 16k/sols from one and 15.7 k/sols from the other pool side. Its actually more than what the local console is reporting. Anything over 675 drops boards within 12 hours.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to bulk order 500 S9/L3+ from Bitmain? on: September 12, 2018, 10:17:36 PM
You have to look into the secondary market if you want cost effective PDUs in bulk.

It really is just the way to go. My facility has 3024 30 amp PDUs in the production environment.

Also if you are talking about how many miners you can NOT run 6 s9s on a 30amp PDU. S9s draw 7 amps or more, we run 4 per PDU and that is about the maximum, officially its a bit too much running 28 amps on a 30 amp PDU but I have been doing it for years.
303  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Custom rig for Antminer s9 Water Cooled - 39.2 TH/s with 6 boards on: September 10, 2018, 11:15:59 PM
For the costs, for 6 boards, the conversion kit is $2000...

So it costs $1000 in parts to mod a single $400 s9....please explain how this will ever even come close to breaking even let alone achieve some small amount of profit.

This seems like a massive waste of time and money for a negative return.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Reduces Block Reward | ETH GPU Mining Will No Longer Be Profitable on: September 10, 2018, 11:13:03 PM
ETH needs to go POS to see itself as something viable other than the massive environmental mess that it has become in the media's eyes. The devs insist they are focusing on POS and can't be bothered to do minor forks to support decentralization (it's easy to stick 100 ASICs in a room, not so much 10K video cards).

You realize PoS is just a rich get richer scheme and regular miners wont be a part of it right? All the money will be made by people that are already holding LARGE amounts of ETH. PoS is not the answer, its one of the worst possible outcomes.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Reduces Block Reward | ETH GPU Mining Will No Longer Be Profitable on: September 10, 2018, 03:51:42 PM
While I was trying to enjoy my trip to Christopher Newport University I was saddened with the official confirmation that Ethereum developers simply do not care for their GPU mining community.

If you are someone that is trying to do unbiased reviews and reporting, you really shouldnt say ignorant stuff like this. Because the devs didnt bend to gpu miners greed they suddenly dont care? The goal isnt to cater to whiny gpu miners that are motivated by personal greed, the goal is to support the long term health and vision of the product itself.

I swear all of you GPU miners have this victim mentality when it comes to anything that affects profit in a way you dont like. The moment profitability is changed in any way its a bunch of whining and crying about how "x coin doesnt care about us", and "we made the coin or it would be nothing".

Heres a little secret.....its a free market.....you dont have to mine the coin if you dont like it, but please get over the 'poor us' bullshit and just move along if you dont agree with a coins principles and goals. The goal of ethereum is not just to have a profitable coin for mining, that at its best point was just a side effect of the product they are trying to create.

306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Obscure mining hardware history question as my Ex is trying to rob me on: September 07, 2018, 05:14:12 PM
Seems real simple. She needs to provide proof that this happened. Since she obviously doesnt have proof she doesnt have a leg to stand on.
307  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: September 07, 2018, 03:17:04 PM
I'm actually not that surprised, when you consider how weird their launch and other acts were.

Like the Donald says: sad, so sad..

Whats the point of continuing the charade when everyone knows its just another name for innosilicon?

So funny reading back all the people that thought dragonmint would save us from big bad bitmain lmao
308  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Why is this S9 only hashing 0.5th? on: September 06, 2018, 09:59:37 PM
Yes its because of the high temp if you reach 80+ (for auto tune firmware) it will automatically reduce the  hashing rate and it leads to high temp protection.

I am not sure where you got this information but it is not true. S9s dont downclock they just shut off when they get too hot.

Also, they dont shut off until much higher than 80c.
309  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Server issues when running both GPU and asic miners on: September 06, 2018, 03:55:44 PM
All "socket connection failed: connection refused" means is that bmminer isnt running. The webpage tries to pull the version numbers from the API of bmminer so whenever the miner isnt active, it will get a connection refused on the API port. People often confuse this as an error message when really its not.

It sounds to me like you might have some IP address conflicts on your local network. Do you run DHCP or do you give your miners static IPs?
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: T9+ Reprogram Hashing Board Request on: September 05, 2018, 06:27:55 PM
This is the wrong section for this, it should be in the bitcoin section.
311  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Does anyone need new ASIC technology for Bitcoin mining? on: September 05, 2018, 06:24:40 PM
I can not understand one thing - how do you imagine this? If I have a successful business, what should have made me develop new-generation miners? Do you know a lot of millionaires who abandon their business in order to develop specific equipment or new technologies?
Those who have money usually do not want to do anything at all. No one will ever benefit from them. And as practice shows, they can not even invest in other projects.
However, we are not worried about this. Sooner or later, there will be some miners who will want to be the first to get the fastest miner in the world who can pay back in just a couple of months. Yes, maybe they will not be those greedy millionaires who can not part even with 1 cent of their heap of dollars, but will be modest people who will invest 10 - 20 - 100 dollars in our project. But they will get what others will not get. We will still find our investors. Or rather, they will find us.

I doubt you will find many investors when you cannot even form coherent sentences. Also, it sounds like you are blaming a topic being moved for lack of investor motivation. WTF are you even talking about?
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z9 mini set frequency per chain? on: September 04, 2018, 03:28:55 PM
No there is not.

P.S. This is bitcoin mining support, you need to post this in the altcoin section.
313  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BTC hashrate changes on: September 04, 2018, 03:24:42 PM
Most large farms run auto switching pools now, if BCH is more popular, the whole farm is mining it, when profitability drops, people cut back.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What do you pay per KWH? on: August 31, 2018, 09:48:35 PM
0.032
315  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: s9i no chips on: August 31, 2018, 06:00:03 PM
If you are in the US there are multiple depots to ship to, you dont have to send it back to China anymore.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ZenCash | Horizen - Officially Announces NO ANTI-ASIC FORK - RIP GPU Miners on: August 31, 2018, 04:54:44 PM

you’re a terrible miner if you didn’t make at least $150 a day with 50 gpus before asics killed profit in 2017 that or you were late to the party and are buthurt u missed fat gains.

No worries by batch 4 that z9 will be a nice spaceheater like my A3s B3s and S9s

I got most of the GPUs later in 2017 but honestly it was just pocket change so I didnt really care to optimize or tweak anything, I had more important things to do.

I like that you quote A3 and B3 which were both piece of crap for a junk algo, anyone who bought those deserves to lose their ass for such a dumb investment.

S9s however are a whole other story. The 96ph worth of S9s im running still seem to make a decent profit at about $20k per day after electric.....
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Z9 Mini Dual Fan on: August 31, 2018, 04:48:11 PM
Depends on your setup and where you keep the Antminer(s).
The main reasons for me are heat extraction and noise reduction because I live in a one-room apartment running several Antminers in soundproof boxes.

If you attach a hose to Z9 mini without an extra exhaust fan, the intake fan would have to run at max fan speed most of the time to be able to keep the Temp(Chip) under 85.

Ahh, I always forget people try and run industrial mining equipment in places where they really shouldnt lol
318  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: s9i no chips on: August 31, 2018, 04:45:02 PM
Considering a brand new s9 is under $500 right now there is no reason to try and repair the boards as it will cost you just as much as a new unit. Being an s9i, it cant be that old, is it still under warranty?
319  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Mining Farm 100+ ASICS cheap energy on: August 31, 2018, 04:43:58 PM
This seems like an interesting deal, but only if you can get the power price down. In this market you need 4 cent power to stand a chance. Is that price just what they have offered you or is there room to negotiate?
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini overclocked on: August 31, 2018, 04:33:49 PM
Anyone opened up the miner to look at the boards?  I'm curious if there are markings on the weak hashing boards to indicate some sort of difference and that bitmain knew something about them.  Seems very coincidental that so many of these batch 2 miners have 1 weak board.

So because you cant OVERCLOCK one board as much as the others you are jumping right to a conspiracy theory that bitmain is doing things on purpose?

The boards are not weak, they hash just fine at the factory speeds.

There is NO guarantee of overclockability, you should be thanking bitmain for putting out a unit that can overclock by 40-60% in the first place. They only promised 10k sols out of the device....
