Only the shit coins are dying, and that's a good thing!
The market is going through a difficult phase but it might eventually recover some of the lost value.
Good, honest and solid crypto assets will endure all this hardship. Therefore, this situation might be a good filter the clean some of the enormous amount of crypto trash lying around.

Holding crypto assets is a very risky bet.
A huge number of investors don't have any other option; they bought at ~19k, ~15k... They cannot sell now of their losses would be enormous.
For other, holding a a game of chance. BTC might increase or it might decrease...
I know, nobody likes to think about it but the possibility is very real: BTC might plummet even further down.
And that's exactly why I diversified my investments a long time ago in order for BTC to take only 10%~15% of my portfolio.
For long time holding, the only reasonable choices are the PoS crypto assets; even in the low tide they keep generating income!

Tens a certeza?

What crypto desperately needs right now is credibility!
The huge number of ICO scams delivered a massive blow to the already feeble reputation of the entire crypto market.
Decentralized exchanges are a nice idea, but first we must find some kind of compliance mechanism that will prevent all those shit coins from entering the market and scamming a lot of people.
|
|
|
Stability might bring more investors into the game.
Right now a lot of people are looking at BTC with a well justified suspicion because it might crash at any time.
Yes, I know, this is what decentralized and unregulated mean.
But still, a minimum amount of stability would create the conditions for a new wave of investors and that would increase volume and price.
Stability would also increase credibility, because BTC is still seen by many as a pure speculative game run by shady people...

I truly believe the turning point will be the shift from PoW to PoS.
Will the transition run smoothly?
Will there be mass adoption of the PoS ETH blockchain?
What about the huge ETH mining community? They will point their rigs at some other profitable mineable crypto asset for sure. How will that impact the ETH general community?
If the outcome of the PoS transition is favorable, then ETH might significantly close the gap to BTC.
I truly believe PoW is doomed in the long run, so ETH might prevail in the end.

Blockchain technologies are here to stay, that's a fact.
However, we cannot forget the the impact they will have in the near future.
- Socially, they will create an even greater digital divide between the savvy and the ignorant;
- Economically, they might rock the foundations of all our well established classical trading systems;
- Technologically they might push for a wider adoption of cryptography, against the will of most government agencies.
This will not be a walk in the park...

One of the big advantages of having invested in PoS assets a few years ago it that even now, when the market is low, I'm getting passive revenue.
This might be the perfect time for you to start pilling up some nice assets.
My advice? Choose PoS v3.
Which one? There are a few good options... choose wisely.

Altcoins vаlue drops big. But it does not mean that they will die. I think only good altcoins will remаin in the market and all shit coins will die. In this red market. I think this is the time to gamble in buying good altcoins at low price.
As I write these lines, the whole market is rising: Markets fluctuate... Crypto markets fluctuate a lot! That's it, nothing else!

Have you ever tried to imagine how would the crypto landscape look like without alternate crypto assets? A total wasteland! Altcoins are an integral part of the crypto movement and have been the driving force pushing the development of new technologies. If we only had BTC, crypto would still be a niche thing reserved for a handful of cipher punks. Yes, we need altcoins. But only honest ones, not the plethora of scams we have now...
|
|
|
Diversify, buy some altcoins. Take advantage of this low tide and get yourselves some decent PoS v3 assets. Unlike BTC, they will grow over time just by sitting in your wallets

Doubt that can happen, at least in near future. Bitcoin is more famous and have more funds. Etherium might only overtake Bitcoin only if most of Bitcoin investors shift to ETH.
If widespread crypto adoption ever occurs, ETH might well be the most popular crypto asset. There are lots of hurdles ahead; mainly the ASICS war and the shift for PoW to PoS, but ETH has the potential to become a crypto monster like BTC itself. Will it overtake it? Nobody knows for sure! Four years ago, who could have guessed things would be as they are now? I believe BTC will keep the dominance for the foreseeable future but in a couple years, who knows?

I agree, every altcoin fell very big and they are very cheap now, I bought with all my cash and I hope bitcoin can rise in one or two month again, it is at very low value now.
BTC is very low? Compared to what? The crazy spike past November/December? Right... One year ago BTC was trading at ~1k USD and a lot of investors were complaining it was too high. Now everybody is taking for granted BTC will soon break the 20k barrier and climbs to infinite heights. I would also benefit from that but I'm not so sure it will happen anytime soon, if ever. Anyway, this is indeed a good time to buy altcoins, specially those capable of generating passive income; the PoS.

Yes, there is not only faith but also common sense. if the whole market flies in the ass, then you should not sit in the market. sell when everyone sells and buy when everyone buys.
Actually, a good strategy might be exactly the opposite; buy when everybody is panic selling at low prices, and sell and everybody is excited buying at crazy high prices!
|
|
|
One year ago BTC was trading at ~1k USD and everybody was happy with it, some were actually complaining it was too high. Now everybody is expecting BTC to rise above 20k, hoping the market will "return to normal". Is it normal to have BTC at such high prices? What is normal in crypto? Let's face it people, BTC might jump to 30k as well as it might plummet back to 1k... Normality doesn't apply in this game
|
|
|
Now that prices of coins are all going down better hold and wait for the time to recover dont panic just believe that it will be back to normal again.
Back to normal? Define normal...? There is no such thing as normality in the crypto assets world! We are now assuming that higher prices are normal but one year ago BTC's price was ~1k USD and it was also considered normal, even too high. I would love to see my assets valued, and I would love to make some more profit but we must face the possibility of this being the new normal. However, that doesn't mean altcoins are dying! The good ones will endure, only the trash will be wiped out!
|

Altcoins in general have expanded the crypto assets world, both in the good and bad sense.
A lot of past and current scams proved what we all should know already; if something looks too good to be true, then it is!
But simultaneously a significant number of good projects brought new technologies and new uses to the basic blockchain approach.
Yes, we need altcoins but we also need some kind of compliance mechanism that prevents all these fake ICOs and shit coins to keep on fooling people.
