I can't figure out why someone would create a new account, then proceed to necro 3 different threads about QR codes/barcodes.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=152162;sa=showPosts

Who's got a good idea?

It's SEO spam. He's got several links to commercial barcoin apps invisibly embedded in his posts.

See here?

Code:
as far as i'm concerned ,the [url=http://www.keepautomation.com/online_barcode_generator/qrcode/][color=black]barcode image size[/color][/url] can be set!
and besides,try to use another [url=http://www.keepautomation.com/products/barcode_printer/][color=black]barcode printer[/color][/url] ?

All of his posts are like that.

Oh, BTW, MPOE-PR, if you're reading this, I traced at least one of the people behind this back to Bucharest, just in case you or MP wanna do the Visit from Big Burly Men in Black Suits thing

Look here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=316764.msg3484486#msg3484486

is this acceptable too???

Last night I found another thread with the game and I read it with interest what other people thought and replied...

Funny, is he  this forum some kind of an investor or developer, why no one did not permanently blocked him yet...

And... truly, no clue why he follows me, we haven't never done any business together, any contact even... besides the back and forth in comments...

You should probably stop advertising your scams and this problem will go away by itself.

305  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Let There Be Dark! Bitcoin Dark Wallet on: October 31, 2013, 08:16:19 PM
links to the founder of terrahash, good to see all the money that went missing went to good use.

I wouldn't be worried, it's not like others involved in this thing were similarily involved in several 'hacked' exchanges.

Oh.. Oh wait.

It solves the unused electricity problem...

Right I forgot about that. So, yes, it solves winter.
309  Other / Off-topic / Re: DRP will be spending the rest of his life in prison... on: October 31, 2013, 06:58:00 PM
Oh, very much the latter. I crave the attention of the peanut gallery.
But don't you get bored by this? I think there are way more interesting things you could spend your time on.

Do you get bored watching your ASIC miners churn air?

He's mining comedy, a valuable commodity in the dark grim future.
310  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does bitcoin mining solve any problem? on: October 31, 2013, 06:55:44 PM
When we do mining in bitcoin does it solve any computational problem? I mean all these machines running around the world working to generate bitcoins, so the hashing work they do, does it solve any problem?
For e.g. some of you might have heard about GIMPS which is about finding next highest Mersenne prime number. Now to do that a software is run like bitcoin which does the computation for you. So basically people all around the world running that software to find the next Mersenne prime number. As you can see running that sofware (which does computation like bitcoin client) results in solving problem which is Mersenne prime number.
So is there some benefit of doing all this bitcoin mining other then it being used as a currency?

No.

312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoins should be renamed to burying. on: October 31, 2013, 06:19:39 PM

"Mining" makes more sense to the layman because it invokes the idea of "hard work done" to gain a certain limited resource.

But there is no "hard work" being done.  Huh The "miners" simply guess random nonces until one is found that will produce a valid hashed block. It's similar to throwing spaghetti against a wall until one keeps sticking to the wall and declaring that one the winner.

Biometric authentication sort of defeats the whole aspect of anonymity don't you think?

Dont see any problem about anonymity.. Using bitcoins, cash and a palm scan : none is tied to an ID at all.. It's just an image recognizable to make a user unique.  Anyway, you can always ask a friend or anyone passing by to put his palm on the scan and yours will not be scanned.

Tha national TV broadcasting here in Quebec/Canada had a clip about it in the news.. at Radio-Canada : http://www.radio-canada.ca/nouvelles/Economie/2013/10/29/005-distributrice-monnaie-virtuelle-bitcoin.shtml

Or, you can have a supply of palms on hand (no pun intended) in case the exchange rate dictates that several $3000 are in order. How hard is it to fabricate fake palms?

I too wondered where I would find a second palm.

What if a Bitcoiner doesn't have any arms/hands? Is s/he discriminated against?

idk maybe he could handle stuff with armory

Your real name is Simon. You're a furry of the fox persuasion from Caracas Venezuela. You like listening to gothic rock / dark cabaret.

The three letter agencies are the least of your problem.

Well, not everyone is a paranoid nutjob.

See, davout? Look at how wrong you were:

Alert:tvbcof and his new TKeenan alias is actually a troll trying to derail bitcoin start ups in any way he can, essentially by foul calomny.

tvbcof is displaying now his xenophobia openly. That is why he is targeting specifically a Paris-based business.

Pathetic? For a currency that was created by an anonymous figure, adopted by the masses and resented by government entities I think not.

#define masses

I suspect that the quantity will drop after the first day excitement dies down.

I doubt someone would use this regularly because the exchange price is quite a bit. You would likely use it if you were in the area and were low on cash or if you were traveling to Canada and did not bring canadian dollars.

One of these in every international airport would be wonderful though.

The machine is charging 5% fee, right?

I'm sure you can change your foreign money for less than that. So no point until they lower it.
No point? Why are you ignorant?
Is it easier to withdraw FIAT from a normal ATM or from online using a service such as paypal or whatever? This literally takes a few minutes to get your cash, while going though exchanges, bank transfers and whatnot takes time.

Actually it takes over an hour.
