Reasoned piece in NYM: https://nymag.com/intelligencer/amp/2021/01/why-is-bitcoin-making-new-all-time-highs.html?__twitter_impression=trueKey quotes: The entrepreneurs working to make cryptocurrency easier to acquire, hold, and transact with have been working diligently to improve this financial plumbing in anticipation of a full-scale monetization event. Today, it seems that this moment may be upon us.
The first time, your interest may be piqued, but you are wary of buying into something that looks like a bubble. The second time, you realize that what you mistook for a bubble was in fact a cyclical process in a longer-term trend.
Personally, I think the story is far from done and that this revolutionary digital asset still has a long way to run.
Good stuff. Don’t sell cheap

Bean counters at Boeing got away with a $2.5B slap on the wrist for the 737 MAX debacle. Cost of doing business.

I received an e-mail today with the reminder to withdraw all funds before April 2021. I seemed to still have EUR 55 worth of crypto and withdrew it accordingly. It was a bit of a hassle because the app has been renewed since 2018 and it does not recall your saved password. A password reset did the trick. Thank god I still had the 2FA available to login. Well, I guess that was the adventure called TenX then

But I’d just say that the fact that the Trump Administration decided to make semiconductors the battleground in its fight with China strikes me as extremely dangerous, given the fact that the U.S. has just lost the technology leadership baton to Taiwan. That, to me, will be the most important event in 2020, more important than Covid.
Some time ago, I read a piece of a man with boots on the ground how China is investing in semiconductors and is razing grounds to put 5-10s of fab facilities on the map. This to ensure their own chip supplies in the near future. It was larded with pictures and other interesting stuff showing a 'war' that has not made the newspapers yet. I don't have the link unfortunately. China is still the underdog in terms of semi-conductors but their engineers learn fast. There will be a time where China can no longer be put under pressure through the Chips/semi-conductor industries. Interesting stuff.

Bitcoin does its own thing. With a fresh outlook of another $2+ trillion spending ahead, I’m not worried about the narrative of Bitcoin the next few months.

You mean senseless dribble. I'd rather watch the Bitcoin paint dry

I bet the Fudsters are ready on their phones/laptops to push the button anytime any tiny Tether FUD will come out today. Some predumped already. Lets see if Tether news will have an impact or not.
Bitcoin survived other controversies. I suspect it won't be different this time.

Where's Lambie?
Tulsi Gabbard was in a local commercial just now and she was looking pretty good.
She'll still look good in 4 years; maybe by then some crazy shit will have happened and she'll be elected as the hottest president ever. We can only hope.
I'd also settle for AOC.
Oh yeah, I said it. It will happen eventually so prepare your retented anuses.
There’s also a thing like too much information But I’m glad you kept Hillary out of this

“But what about all the BTC you said you had?"
Exactly. She can’t have the Bitcoin.

Does anyone else have suggestions of what they would use to help determine when a potential end of bull run top is approaching?

Tether does up to 12% of the daily Ethereum transactions. Funny that a decentralised computer is used to transfer a stable coin pegged to fiat. But it serves a purpose I guess

A direct quote from Trump. Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you. … We are going to the Capitol, and we are going to try and give — the Democrats are hopeless, they are never voting for anything, not even one vote, but we are going to try — give our Republicans, the weak ones, because the strong ones don’t need any of our help, we’re try — going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.” 'Now it is up to Congress'. That's what I read. The rest is nothing troubling either. You are reading your own opinion in those words. Snap out of it. If I want to see people fighting instead of reasoning, I'll go to Twitter.

I can't believe anyone that was storming the capital, went there with the intention of killing anyone.
Maybe not murder, but they were clearly criminal in nature. Not less criminal than the cohorts looking for shops of other civilians to burn. It all looked staged. Both parties try to run with it. Both will fail in the long run. I wish people would take the helicopter few. Otherwise, they may stay the f** out of this thread.
