301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple price in January. And your opinion about Ripple Protocol future! on: September 29, 2013, 09:59:11 AM
If it's widely adopted it could worth more than 1$. Just image Western Union or paypal using it.

Title of this thread should be "... price in October..." because of Ripple and ZipZap integration I have spoke about in this thread.

ZipZap already uses Moneygram network and has 700 000 cash-in locations worldwide, so it's not needed to imagine Western Union Cheesy
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another BIG NEWS for the Ripple XRP!!! on: September 27, 2013, 06:31:49 PM
Huge news - this will be great for Bitcoin and all crypto!  It's what everyone holding Bitcoin has been dreaming of for years!

Yes, that's for sure, 700 000 cash-in locations is just the start. People don't realize that most of those, 100 billion XRP which are in OpenCoin (Ripple Labs) possession will be used to make Ripple bigger. So if we compare Ripple with a star, Ripple is a star that has huge amount of hydrogen (fuel), it has a potential to grow big.

XRP's will be used to strengthen the development team, fund the development, make integration with more companies like ZipZap, make good marketing and promotion of Ripple network all around the world. In summary Ripple will be the mother of all payment systems, let me call it the "integrator" of all payment systems. It will erase the line between crypto-currency world and conventional payment systems by accepting both crypto and conventional worlds to create their Ripple Gateways.

OK, what is zip-zap? ( too lazy to search myself, so just tell me)

You don't have to search anything, just click the ZipZap link in the OP Cheesy
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Alt. Coin you think will reach BTC price in one-two years? on: September 27, 2013, 10:29:20 AM
I don't think that any system will reach BTC price, I would rather speak about which system will be as successful as BTC and I cast my vote for Ripple.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another BIG NEWS for the Ripple XRP!!! on: September 27, 2013, 08:19:50 AM
Need to pump some of your scamXRPs more, amiright?

Go to the BTC-e troll box.

Pumping and dumping is based on speculation, false predictions etc...

This is not pumping and dumping, this is news sharing.

It was a speculation when this was announced and many of us was curious what the special news might be:

... and now this video put some light on it, so it's news sharing, let me repeat NEWS SHARING Cheesy

306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Another BIG NEWS for the Ripple XRP!!! on: September 27, 2013, 07:53:28 AM

Another BIG NEWS for Ripple XRP:

Mr. Stefan Thomas, CTO at OpenCoin, Inc. (Ripple Labs) announced that Ripple is about to go live with provider providing 700 000 cash-in location in the U.S.

I think that he is talking about ZipZap, so rumor is almost confirmed! Cheesy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fTUiSqS5sU&t=1240 Watch the next 30 seconds!

EDIT: After all, Mr. Alan Safahi, CEO at ZipZap, Inc. is also at Advisory Board at OpenCoin, Inc. (Ripple Labs), so I'm 99% sure that Mr. Stefan Thomas was talking about ZipZap  Cheesy

307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP to go open source on Sept 26 ! (UPDATE - already up 43% and climbing) on: September 26, 2013, 10:26:38 PM
And now the big question how much it will sky-rocket...

Ripple XRP spent majority of it's non-opensource existence @ 1BTC=7000XRP, so I guess in open-source phase... it will be much valuable.

This graph will explain it visually:

I still think like this, it seems possible. What is the opinion of community? Feel free to share your thoughts...
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to start with Ripple on: September 26, 2013, 04:11:14 PM
RippleSync is back...
Don't get me wrong, this is the friendly advice, just as previous one about when Ripple will be open-sourced https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=294156.0 Don't tell me that I wasn't right?

I don't understand why is Ripple still in Alternate cryptocurrency section when his place is in Service Discussion, Mt.Gox another currency exchange is there, there is no reason to ban Ripple from that section, why is that done everytime when someone post there about Ripple?!?!?

Ripple is much better currency exchange then Mt.Gox and it's currently free of fees: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=301780.0
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to start with Ripple on: September 26, 2013, 03:52:29 PM
Well, before I said anything you will need to spend some time learning, that is unavoidable, but when you learn, you will be thrilled about Ripple and what he can do.

We live in a fast-paced crypto-currency world, things get changed in a blink of an eye and the one who can not follow get left behind. I don't want to argue about what you should do, I will just give you my opinion. If you want to fork Ripple, it will take you a lot of time to even understand the code because it's not documented as much as it could be, then you will have a lot of investments because you need a fairly good number of servers, it will take some time to attract the customers of your forked network, in summary, you will spend a lot of time and possible you will be late and I said at the beginning of this post, what will happen when you late.

I understand a urge to make a fork of Ripple, because most of you think that Ripple is something like Bitcoin and Bitcoin has alt-coins, but you are wrong. If you want to have the same approach to alt-coining Ripple, better solution for you is to develop a RIPPLE GATEWAY. If you already have your alt-coin, you can serve as Ripple Gateway for your alt-coin in the Ripple network and attract more customers. Developing Ripple Gateway is very well documented and your gateway can be up in no time.

For all Ripple critics, don't fight the tide, stop for a second and try to learn. Ripple is a swiss-knife, it takes time to learn what he can do. Most of your critics are tied to one of the features and you don't completely understand how system works. First learn, then try, then make a critics.

For all people completely new to Ripple, Ripple is a P2P network, let me repeat P2P, let me repeat again P2P. It's also decentralized currency exchange exchange, yes I wrote it twice because it is that. Everyone was dreaming about decentralized currency exchange and here it is, no more MtGox and centralized Bitcoin exchanges. Contribute to the Ripple P2P network, host a rippled server, be the part of the future. Ripple brings complete freedom because Bitcoin P2P currency just got a P2P Currency Exchange.

I think I said enough, if you spend some time learning, I think you will think the same, don't spend time listening to what someone will tell you, have some patience for a few days, learn it yourself:
https://ripple.com/wiki/

Ask people on Ripple Forum especially on Developers section, I'm sure they will give you explanation for things you don't understand:

Cheers!

Problem is that all of you who don't like Ripple have very old arguments based on speculation, rumors or things that were a problem long time ago, but are solved and are not a problem anymore. Things changed... You all started learning about Ripple and then stopped 6 months ago, there are a lot of new things and solutions for common problems. For example, it's obvious that you don't understand how Ripple works when you call it "financialized debt scam", you probably have knowledge about Ripple that is old at least 6 months. You must explore what is new and then talk about Ripple.
Coming from someone who has made at least a dozen material representations promoting ripple.

Do you have any specific "old arguments based on speculation?" No?

TradeFortress, I see you as a competitor to Ripple, so I understand why you spend so much energy talking around that Ripple is not good, you are afraid of competition. Then be a competitor and don't play dirty. Those guys spent a lot of energy creating Ripple, you probably spend a lot of time creating inputs.io One thing why I didn't invested in your product is this:

https://opencoin.com/

I can see who they are, what they worked on before, we can see them at conferences, they stand behind their product with their careers, history, names, faces...

I can see everything about the company:

http://www.crunchbase.com/company/opencoin

I can see who invested in it, company address, phone, other contacts...

If you feel that Ripple is your competitor, do the same, post who you are, what is your company address, how do you look like, post your history and career, be a public figure. Organize a panel and confront OpenCoin crew live in front of curious public. I would be the first person who wants to see your live debate, feed our minds with truth, share all those arguments live, don't be brave and shy at the same time, stand behind your product and tell people why it's better then Ripple and why Ripple is a bad thing to invest in, but tell it live, with your real name and face, not as a TradeFortress. When you do that, I will consider investing in your products Cheesy

What apology do I owe opencoin and the entire ripple economy?

Have you even read ripplescam.org?

Have you ever spend at least an hour exploring Ripple?
Uh huh, are you aware that I've been exploring Ripple when it was in closed beta?
Then explore some more Cheesy

Explore hard enough until you can swallow a financialized debt scam, on top of a blockchain POW derived digital system ?

I'm trying hard to swallow - I'm still exploring ....

SnapSwap largest U.S. based Ripple gateway announced that they will not charge in-Ripple fees, so anybody can send USD within the Ripple Network absolutely free. Additionally, it was announced on @SnapSwap Twitter account that it will be possible to move USD from SnapSwap to Bitstamp and back at no cost through Ripple Network.

From the SnapSwap blog:

Quote
Sending USD within the Ripple Network is now free
Today we are eliminating transfer fees for balances issued by SnapSwap. We previously charged 0.2% on each Ripple balance transfer.

This means that anybody can send USD within the Ripple Network absolutely free. Essentially this change in fees makes the money in the Ripple Network as efficient as cash in your real wallet.

We will continue to charge bank transaction fees of 0.99% + $0.30 per transaction for depositing money from a bank account into the Ripple Network and for withdrawing money from the Network into a bank account.
