i dont even understand how satoshi being dox would effect the price at all

Satoshi e-mail hack won't directly influence the bitcoin market, because hacker won't find private keys in Satoshi's inbox, hacker doesn't have access to Satoshi's bitcoin wallet.

On the other hand, Satoshi's e-mail hack can indirectly influence the bitcoin market because Satoshi identity might be revealed. People could be satisfied with the info who Satoshi is (crypto-anarchist, God...), also could be unsatisfied with the info who Sathoshi is (some corrupted corporation, NSA, CIA...) and that could influence direction where we are heading.

At the end, if you worry too much, this news is probably nothing.

Verge of Breakout.. Today is Full MOON  Grin

http://recode.net/2014/09/08/ebay-payments-unit-braintree-to-let-merchants-accept-bitcoin/

September 8, 2014, 9:43 AM PDT

Braintree, the eBay subsidiary that runs a payment system used by popular mobile apps, plans to announce that its customers can start accepting bitcoin, according to two sources.

The move would allow websites and apps that run payments through Braintree (part of eBay’s PayPal) to start accepting bitcoin as a payment method, these people said. Braintree’s most popular customers include Uber, Airbnb and HotelTonight. It’s not clear which, if any, of these customers will choose to accept the digital currency.

The move is not expected to extend to PayPal or eBay, at least for now. One source said Braintree is working with bitcoin company Coinbase to process the bitcoin payments.

Braintree is expected to announce the news in the near future — perhaps as early as today. The Wall Street Journal first reported that Braintree was in talks with bitcoin companies to accept the digital currency.

A bitcoin is generated when computers running specialized software solve complex mathematical equations. It has gained popularity over the past year as speculators have bought the currency with the hope that its value will increase over time. Some well-known companies, including Dell and Overstock.com, have also started to accept bitcoin as a payment method. Bitcoin is currently valued at about $476, after soaring above $1100 late last year.

This means absolutely nothing. It's not a significant news at all, it will not produce buying nor selling pressure, it will just produce a small playground for speculators to play 1-2 day game with a small fluctuation.
204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Falllling is right again, Bitcoin will continue the downtrend on: September 08, 2014, 10:47:08 AM
If we put all things about BTC to the side and concentrate on most interested thing about BTC lately which is why BTC doesn't react to good news...

It was kind of mystery to me. Today, I have a theory. It probably reacts positively to good news, but too much hoarding in the previous period makes more influence than good news on BTC price, that is the only reason why we are going down totally contrary to the current state of BTC.

When excessive hoarding started? If you ask me, probably somewhere @250$. Where BTC price is now? Probably somewhere @350$.

So, I think I have an obligation to apologize to Falllling, maybe your methods of news and prediction spreading are strange, but you are right, you said this first.

$500 is an interesting point at least psychologically, at the same time it's 3000 CNY, we might stick to it or if we cross it, we might have strong push downward, just thinking...

Good morning, just woke up. Is there are reason why we are going down?

Because it is up almost 100 points from 5 days ago
Too fast, if it was slower maybe it would go even more up.

Good morning, just woke up. Is there are reason why we are going down?

bitcoin is going to nowhere but down, dead cat bounces won't save the price

old stuff first:
51% pool fear (easy came easy gone easy return so it can't be fixed and never be fixed)
crackers and governments and shit having 1200k coins(mtgox 200k, Ross Ulbricht 140k, crackers: 850k), yes, they are still slowly cashing out and will continue for a long long time
no new money, everyone is selling / spending
governments warning and banning
scam IPOs many including Ethereum and others
Dell / Expedia / Newegg / House dealer / etc are selling in real time
etc..

some latest news:
BitLicense comment period an additional 45 days, bitcoin will be seriously limited and people will lose interest and leave bitcoin, you will see more shits like this coming out later, please call it "a hidden US ban on bitcoin"
China central bank has a new ban coming soon, under the name of "anti money laundering" because ALL chinese exchangers are using "illegal coupons through 3rd party" to deposit/withdraw, they can't do it legally because ALL chinese banks REFUSED to work with them months ago, it's like central bank saying to exchangers: "You have been warned not engage in any bitcoin business since long time ago but you carried on regardless, so don't blame me if i kick your ass hard time by time"
Thanks for the detailed info

211  Economy / Speculation / Re: How come there are so many literal idiots on Bitcointalk? on: August 21, 2014, 08:50:26 AM
Friendly discussion where the price is heading doesn't mean majority of us are idiot.

I can be bullish one day and bearish another day depend on the price, weather and hormone level.

+1

Sometimes I think that we are in the middle of highly orchestrated campaign... When BTC goes up, everywhere around articles like this pop like mushrooms after rain

http://www.coindesk.com/china-bitcoin-exchanges-bitlicense-harm-overseas-markets/

when it goes down, roses and butterflies are everywhere, 2 d moon, 2 d grave and all around, so... here we go again, China is concerned blah, blah

I also noticed the usual "Bitcoin's final crash" "The end of Bitcoin?" and similar articles all over the place.
The usual old fart economists on their crappy blogs with their told you so's.

How many times are these idiots gonna do the same thing? After every crash they pop up with the same shit. Then we go up again and you won't hear them anymore untill the next crash.

They're not anything different than the trolls here it just occured to me. Funny.
I don't care about direction where we are going, I'm more concerned with the behavior on this board. Two years ago we were more mature, with more serious analysis and polite conversation, no matter where we are heading. Lately, everyone feels free to insult everyone, we need to calm down and develop some respect for each other, it would be much better for us and bitcoin. Just imagine how new members of this forum react when they visit this forum for the first time... They feel like they are visiting zoo and see bunch of monkeys, throwing insults, "moons" and "looses" all around and creating so much mess, after that they just adopt this model of behavior. I can't blame moderators because no one can moderate this, problem is just too big for anyone to moderate.

agreed but i say we go down to $300 after sideways, $480 is the new $680
Considering the current market situation, I think there will be no sideways, we can expect next moves very soon.
215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 20, 2014, 05:28:10 AM
Which exchange will start the dump this time?
216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 19, 2014, 06:54:01 PM
So, will it be 440 or 420?
It seems to me that buyers are not interested at all, so I think it will go much lower than 420, maybe somewhere close to 330-350.
