301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: March 13, 2018, 10:31:42 AM
we lost more than 30% in one week i didnt know why!! the market act like crazy man

Most Alt coins lost about that much and BTC ~17%. It is a correction. That is crypto with lots of FUD:

1) Mt. Gox BTC selling
2) SEC statements
3) Binance Via hack
4) Tax payment season in the US

According to the BMI (Bitcoin Misery Index), it is time to buy bitcoin: https://www.forbes.com/sites/chuckjones/2018/03/10/the-bitcoin-misery-index-bmi-is-flashing-a-buy-signal/
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: March 11, 2018, 11:09:39 PM
hi, does anyone know the maximum supply of this coin

Max supply is unlimited...however coins will get burned through transactions/usage

True, but the inflation rate will decrease a lot over the years. By 2021 it should be 3.4% a year and all that may be burned through usage per year by then.

Read more about it here: https://forum.sia.tech/topic/161/about-siacoins-calculation-and-supply
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: March 11, 2018, 08:48:00 PM

The system in some ways is closer to MN than regular staking, though really it is unique and unlike either.

I really don't see what could be done about the ticket price. It is determined by demand, just like the price of the coin itself.
Too low prices would mean very high returns, which in turn would raise demand (and ticket price).

The only annoying thing was wild yet predictable fluctuations in prices due to the previous price algorithm.
That led to all tickets being bought in one every 3 or 4 periods, leading to absurd fees. Thankfully that was fixed last year

Again I dont understand the technicals behind it so please educate me if possible. After the new ticket algo the price fluctuations stabilized this was a good development for sure. But since then the price of one ticket rised but so did the price of decred. So while back in the days most people could afford buying a ticket now its already more then $5000 to buy 1 ticket which may take 3 months to be picked. This will be more in the future although I read somewhere there will be a limit to where it can go in practice.
But for me the question remains why isnt it possible to reduce this by a factor 10 or even 100 and reduce the reward also by this factor? So people can buy more tickets for the same amount so they can get closer to this 28day average and make it also possible for people to participate who dont have 5000 (or maybe more in the future) to spend for a single ticket.

Dont get me wrong I think this is a better system than MN and way better than normal staking but I feel like for new people it will be difficult to participate and have a voice now with these prices let alone in the future when prices are even higher. So I was hoping there could be something to change that so that in the future not only the 'elite' will have a say in decred like is happening now with dash for example.

Maybe(probably) its unavoidable and these ticket prices have to be this 'high' for some technical reason I dont understand but I wanted to bring it up even if its only for my own understanding

I understand somebody outside of the Decreg org is working on this as a project: where smaller holders of DCR can combine their DCR in a pool to submit tickets.  However, this will almost certainly lead to higher ticket prices as more tickets will be bought; probably 10 to 20% higher.

does someone know when this problem with the consensus nodes is solved ? Im still stuck on block 20000190 and I cant move my neo.. Is there a new wallet update that I have to download or do I have to wait a little longer ?

I'm not too worried that the node problem is still on-going as I've no immediate intention of selling any NEO, but the longer it's down the longer it will take to sync the wallet once the nodes are back on line. There has been no wallet update since 22nd January v2.6.0 is the latest  https://github.com/neo-project/neo-gui/releases

The funny thing is I run the GUI on two different boxes. One it synched to the correct block, and the other didn't. But there is a fix:

306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: March 11, 2018, 08:23:37 PM
when can we expect LISK to recover?

When the market recovers.

Also the expected open beta launch for Lisk (in 3 or 4 weeks) will help.

Look around bitcointalk...I don't have the thread off hand but the mt. gox trustee is dumping ...on each dump we hit a low...the trustee is clueless...I've read

that he has had offers to buy off exchanges from legit folk and that he would make more on an auction..but he seems to be panic dumping thus is mainly the

cause from the drop from 18k folk are saying. Thus since Nov 2017 or so...about $500 milion BTC have been dumped to USD and $1.9 Billion dollars to go!

sh*t we could be looking at 1,000 BTC again..if he panic dumps wrong.

So anyway, until this clears up ....we are looking at sideways at best or Jan 2017 $1,000 prices at worse ...till they clear this up...my fear is they have a

'deadline' to move BTC to cash..if that is the case...the whole works could go tulips....

what a cluster

thus LISK will have to stand on its own merits...and such.....because the link of price between alts like LISK is strong....we could be sucked into a downward

spiral of price...we have no control over...oh ....and with our luck the other shoe will drop with tether coin also....FML...

I think the Gox trustee has sold enough to pay off the debts, so may not sell anymore. Also now that he is been called out, if he does sell more, perhaps he will do it a more constructive method like you mentioned.

Is voting a prerequisite for earning an income? are there any other sources?

Yes. You must open the wallet and vote and then after that you can keep the wallet closed and watch the SHIFT roll in  Grin

Well I am getting about 6% annually in rewards, just remember only vote if you have enough coins to cover the fee (costs 4 Shift to vote for all 101)

Didn't this start as Ant-Shares? I specifically didn't buy it because of the name. I thought they were calling ME the ANT... oops

think they came up with Antshares like the network, how ants work as a team

In China Ants are seen as a collection of strength, and was something that got last in translation to other cultures. But, that little Ant logo was a cutie I must admit.

309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are we repeating the 2014 BTC crash??? on: March 08, 2018, 07:37:51 PM
We are likely headed to a 3 - 5 trillion marketcap of all cryptos combined by 2020. What path it takes to get there could be like a zig-zag, so just waiting for the future.
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: March 08, 2018, 06:57:21 PM
Lisk is one of the good holders during this market crash. Yes, it dropped a little bit from the top but still, it didn't bleed bad like all others did. It is a safe harbor in crypto.

This is my Hacked account. He deleted my threads but still i own those domains. Check the proof @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2721567.0

Give my account back, otherwise i will post this message to all your threads  Tongue

Just curious, how do you think they were able to hack your account?
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: March 08, 2018, 06:52:12 PM
Guys, what is current profitability of DCR staking?

About 1.6% per ticket which returns in an average of 28 days or so. More info at: https://dcrstats.com/

thank you. have seen that site, but was not sure that understood all fine. 1,6% month is very not bad imo. Sorry, maybe last question about the same - any minimum required to start stacking?

So that same site currently lists the ticket price as 81.96 DCR. So you will need that much DCR to stake. The price adjusts every 12 hours, but has been pretty stable in the low to mid 80's range for the last month or so. Still that is around $5,000 worth of DCR to buy 1 ticket. And keep in mind the average voting time is 28 days, but it could vote much quicker or take months.

Yea, it looks like you need to be an accredited investor however, so many can't participate. Same thing with the new coinbase fund.

314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: March 07, 2018, 08:22:31 PM
What happens to Sia price? Now it's worth as much as in June  Cry

Perhaps crytpo is not for you, if you can't handle the dips, as there are many. Lots of crypto FUD today and many coins down 15% today like SIA. Expect a big bounce in a few days or weeks, maybe hours.
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: This is the Right time to get in! on: March 07, 2018, 07:00:05 PM
I have been telling people, the best thing to do in this space is to go against the crowd, most people are dumping their coins now just because the market is in a state of uncertainties, good investors by now would be accumulating but those that follow the crowd will be waiting for the tide to change in their favour before the jump in

Well said, do the opposite of the heard.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: March 07, 2018, 06:37:17 PM
So ETC is dead?Huh? what the hell is going on here?

Panic dumping by noobs.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: March 06, 2018, 09:35:51 PM
I'm wondering if Komodo is simply too good right now for people to understand.  With all the problems with the major exchanges, maybe people still just can't see how good something BarterDEX is and now much it's needed.   Otherwise, the Komodo price would be rising.  It's all in marketing.   Maybe a new sig campaign, or one if there isn't one.  Eyes will forget about you in one day if there isn't something to get their attention.

It looks like help is on the way, a new General Manager is joining Komodo, this guy looks like the real deal: https://twitter.com/bennydoda01/status/969843264185450496
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: March 06, 2018, 09:30:35 PM
the capitalization of this coin is falling. this suggests that people are moving away from this coin and demand is falling on it. the appearance on the Indian stock exchange did not help. company Sia have nothing to do. freaks. why can not they have nothing to do? I'm sorry I'm from Russia. I write with errors.

Pretty much all the coins are down 10% today, that's crypto.
