3123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: January 28, 2018, 05:03:54 AM
curious to know if a 4th chain can be connected to the D3 since there is a 4th socket on the controller board.
The S9 only got 3 sockets.

Well, looks like I have maybe another month mining these 2 D3's. Between the 2 of them I get 35gh at 10c kWh usd @2400 watts at the wall at 220 volts.

or $5.10 a day after electric.

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/dash?HashingPower=35&HashingUnit=GH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=2400&CostPerkWh=0.10&MiningPoolFee=0

does not bode well, even if I bring them back home from the data hall and use as a basement space heater this rest of winter.

alas!

mate dont use cryptocompare calculator it's worst calculator, it says you mine 0.013 dash per day dash price is aroud 800 so 0.013*800=10 usd per day Smiley not 5

the calc likely is, as you say NOT correct, but I only mine 0.009 dash per day! 0.009x 800 is 7.20 usd ..but no way do I mine over 0.013 per day!

them days are gone....

what is a more LEGIT calculator? (more or less)

i usually use coinwarz calculator u can add difficulty by yourself there and also i check average block difficulty for 24 hours so i have a clue what number i should add it to it. this way i have some kind of clue how much i make per day it's usually -7% to -8% difference from that calc

i usually make around 0.008 dash per day with my D3 only 1

never really could figure that one out......i understand the add your own difficulty rate..just never have a clue...so I just use the snapshot method or KISS principle....

on a calc...but I guess the calc I picked sucked for that purpose..

not sure how you are getting 0.008 dash per day..I'm getting 0.009 per day for 2 das miners at 35gh?

I messed up my calcs ..(to be fair....I will never ROI on the 2 D3's but with all my x11's (counting the 300 Baikal cube..I will, however, ROI on X11 machines on a WHOLE ..it

is all in how you frame your decisions for the old 'ego') Smiley

So anyway, looking at ALL x11 machines (2 D3's and the 300 cube baikal since MAY 2017) and seeing I squeaked by 'barely' with ROI and still making more than I'm using

with electric for the 2 D3's kinda ignored stuff.....so MISSED the fact I'm getting TWO payments of DASH per day...so I"m really getting 0.018 dash per day for about

(at today's price of $780.50 Dash or at 0.018 dash per day that is = to $14.05 per day which is much better than the $7.03 (before electric) I previously thought with my 'wrong to use'

dash calculator pointed out and my plain mistake.

Sorry, for the confusion..nice to see I'm wrong for once in the correct direction  $14.05 per day (before electric) is considerably different than the $7.02 I thought I was getting!

So, anyway, duh.....looks like I can still run these for a couple more months...sometimes it is 'good' to be clueless...(if you catch it)

sorry for the confusion..thanks for the help in pointing out a better calculator and that forced me to re-look at my 'assumptions'

I making Bitmain my hate enemy. They drive big carrot to my anoose. I not mining this coin from no plug. Now quiet miner make my family eat just rice and I sell them lie of making Sia and getting meat. Bitmain will get poop package. I'm swearing to you.

Comment of the year!

Yea. But I feel sorry for family having father who invested food money in mining equipment.

@shutefight  How about spending the rent money as well to buy few more miners ... perhaps the situation gets better  Grin
Help me make you understand. I sell chickens at good profit. I makes  smart decision. Making chicken coop empty for mining farm. Good good. Wife is yes to this. Then I get quiet miner from no plug. Bitmain making hate to me from my wife. Now empty chicken coup is sleeping place for shutefight. I am revenge now.
Please guys, reply, keep him posting....

the guys English is sOOOOO bad, I have a hard time believing he is NOT legit.... Smiley I mean, if he was faking, it could not be that indecipherable right? (or how my logic on this works)

IF you are legit..go to a local electrician he can make you a temp power cord that will last more than long enough to order a proper cord at 220v. At least till you order some more.

but yeah, I want this guy to get into the details on how his A3 runs/ and the wife/ and the rest...with the bad English explanation on the thread here....it will be a hoot!

3125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: January 28, 2018, 04:47:49 AM
1:24pm us eastern time L3+ still on sale
for 2378$ how about those already paid march batch? How unfair is this bitmain ?
L3+ is gonna be like D3 is soon
Already there....

sheesh....I remember when they were going for ..I think it was $1650?

nope...running mine into the ground..not looking to get any more at this point

the swap'ing crypto for equip died IMHO, sometime last July 2016...with the price of crypto shooting up...

just can't do it anymore..them days may be past (however, selling crap on a rummage sale and then using FIAT to gamble on mining equip may still be a hedge)

but straight mining crypto for equip ..yech...

3126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain just announced the AntMiner A3 - 815GH/s Siacoin miner - Blake(2b) on: January 27, 2018, 05:20:23 PM
I having new A3's to my doors. I tried to make plugs in and there no cord for plug. Why Bitmains no send plug in cord??? Now my poop miner look nice but quiet. Who helps me??   Huh Cry

They do not include a power cord for some reason. I like this cord: Tripp Lite Heavy Duty Computer Power Cord, 15A, 14AWG (NEMA 5-15P to IEC-320-C13), 6-ft. (P007-006) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0027JRMD0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_pmjBAbMT15GHS
Kindly thanks for you. I having order for that, while watch SIA Coins drip out quiet miner onto ground. I sending Bitmain box of dog poop for thanks.
.

Go to local electrician. They can make you a rough temp cords to use for a few days.
3127  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Do you shut down your miners in a lightning storm? on: January 26, 2018, 03:45:35 AM

I use these euro version surge protectors 220v on my stuff..have saved my ass 2x over 4 years or so

https://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-International-Protector-EURO-4/dp/B00006HZ4M/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1516937849&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=220+euro+tripp+lite

they come with a psu cord to the tripp lite unit itself...I myself just ran ONE per miner in the basement (had like 5 at one time in basement) the stuff at the data hall

has its own protections...

anyway, so the cord from your psu (funky sockets in pic) ARE included in the box...from the box to the wall you have a choice of 3 types of outlet plugs

I set up the below kind in my basement from the electrical service

below is the cord that comes with the above surge protector

https://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-IEC-320-C14-IEC-320-C13-P004-015/dp/B00FBA1UC6/ref=sr_1_5?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1516938075&sr=1-5&keywords=220v+power+cable

below is the cord I use to the wall from the surge protector above

https://www.amazon.com/Lynn-Electronics-C13620P15A-10F-60320-C13-10-Feet/dp/B0093WFT5C/ref=lp_3034281011_1_1?srs=3034281011&ie=UTF8&qid=1516938216&sr=8-1

my setup below in basement if anyone is interested w/fans cooling etc

lostgonzo.imgur.com

anyway....pricey...but figured ONE per miner and 1 20amp 220v circuit to each miner was overkill...but again ...did save me some equip 2x in 4 years I'm sure

from storms.....

so anyway, what I did

3129  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2018, 03:31:45 AM
So my banks just complained. Apparently churning too much money in and out of exchanges has them worried shitless that the taxman will complain. Might have to register as a business to keep trading at the current levels of volume. Not sure I wanna deal with that shit. Especially the part where I have to give up half the profit. Blah.
To me, this is worrying more than annoying. Any hint of coordination among banks? How long between the two complaints?
If you only had money coming in and no money going out they probably wouldnt have a problem with it.

This is why we need something like Tether but which is reliable.

What do you mean you have to give half your profit? I know already as a daytrader I have to give up 40% of my profit every year in income taxes. I thought registering as a business would actually prevent taxes until you took out money (paid yourself) to spend it.

IF I was to do what you do..it would be 40% (my income bracket with mining etc) and 10% STATE Income Tax..so for income OR capital gains my state adds 10% tax

this is probably why you  see some folk say 50% tax rate....(so I mine its 40% tax rate and 10% state tax..if I sell crypto it is 40% capital gains and 10% tax rate (state

calls it income) so either/or I lose 50% on ANY crypto I make and/or use if less than 1 year and a day ....

annoying.....

Hi guys. I have a knc jupiter, October batch that I fired up yesterday for about 10 minutes, and it was hashing fine.
Then I went to restart it, and it won’t restart again. Green and read light comes on 3 times and then nothing.
Any ideas?

you may have to reflash the SD card...or that is what I'd check first.....I think you can try a factory reset as well....

(been so long...I never did a factory reset..on such confusions I just did a new scandisk 8gb flash...and it then revived..

happened a couple times, If I remember right)

Ack! looks like work...will contemplate the concept of GPU mining with my 1 card Alienware laptop and expansion chassis (1 GPU card) by EXTENSIVELY field testing it  with the Destiny 2

game....this may take a while...got to run the GPU card thru its paces don't ya know...be secure in it being stable an all that (cough!) (again with the throwing of stuff at me in

This MUST happen...my dubious/dreams/gold digger future girlfriend and trip to Davos ... and sanity depend on it... Smiley

Don't know if you guys frequent the "Mining" section but its brutal there.

Basically Bitmain pulling another Bitmain and over-supplying the market with an ASIC for SIA. Noobs ordering a bunch of units expecting $500/day and while UPS is dropping off these ASICs the difficulty triples in about a day.
https://siamining.com/stats

Also people going CRAZY over GPUs. People basically paying $1500 for GPUs and Computer Stores either Out of Stock on PSUs or REFUSING to sell PSUs without a Mobo+CPU combo.

While I'm just chilling and mining on my good old 7970 from the Litecoin days on my old trusty Corsair 750W with ROI being the least of my worries.

enlighten us here (asic owner since 2013) is there still a good enough reason to get GPU's for mining...or is this fading?

curious

(i have ONE 1080 gpu card with my alienware R7 laptop for the computer/crypto biz (cough!) and of course got the espansion chassis to add the option to mine coins (cough!..hey...I

see you roflao about that ...I mean would I really use this as a crypto equip deduction just to game? (cough...er choking as I type this)

best 5k I ever spent at the high on BTC......as a crypto computer equip deduction (cough!) ......but alas..the biz needed a new laptop (ducks from thrown items in bitcointalk

hey..someone could take out my eye here!)

anyway, worked for me and GPU mining (cough!) now if I actually could figure out HOW to GPU mine.this may make more sense...but so far ..games (er I mean) crypto research

is keeping me occupied enough. Smiley

New users haven't been able to sign up on Korean exchanges since Jan. 1. Apparently the floodgates will open on the 30th.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7s9e7a/korea_will_now_allow_new_users_to_sign_up_and/

So Korea unbans bitcoin. Is that why the price is suddently up to almost $11000?

It's almost like the China bans then unbans bitcoin thing.

yeah...real names on South Korea exchanges..not sure what the fuss was about if all they are gonna do is follow USA guidelines on exchanges like coinbase...

was the FUD just for FUN..to make the lawmakers in South Korea look like they were relevant?

3139  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bloodbath on: January 23, 2018, 01:43:31 AM
When is thus general Bloodbath likely to end guys?... All Capital tied up 😰😰

Well,do you believe the regulators in various countries that say that Bitcoin and Crypto are all schemes to take our money and avoid taxes and
terroism and the dark net?

That is the claim, for increasing regulation and tax compliance and the rest of the FUD...

IF above concerns you, you should take your profits and run...

myself, I mine, I'm legal, my hoard is legal etc

So IF the majority of folk can live with regulation and paying taxes and crypto is NOT used in the above manner all the Gov't and other are FUD'ing about

well, the price will resume an upward path, simply because the majority of us HONEST folk using crypto and BTC will HOLD

and with 80% of all BTC mined

it will HAVE TO AT LEAST GO SIDEWAYS FOR A BIT IF NOT UP IN THE LONG TERM

place your bets, gentleman, are you on the Dark Side of your view of Crypto (banks/gov't concerns) or are you on the light side of crypto (honest use as an alternative

to banks/corrupt gov't's and an alternative way of moving money and a decentralized store of value)

anyway, how I'm looking at it...and I have a significant amount of coin that the dump of BTC in the $9K range...'hurt my tummy' more than a little bit Sad

I do believe however there will now be international coordinated FUD and regulations to limit crypto, but they can only do so much if the majority of us are legal and hold,

even in those countries where BTC and crypto is outlawed....you can still slip it out via USB drive to a relative or whatever outside that country exchange (me thinks)

anyway, pick your viewpoint

(We wanted BTC and Crypto to gain mainstream attention, goes to show: be careful what you wish for, you may surely get it!)

3140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Swedish bank forbids 31000 employees from investing in Bitcoin or crypto on: January 23, 2018, 01:34:33 AM
27000 employees will obey and 3000 employees will buy because they know that it is anonymous
they will ask to their grandma to open an account in a bank fo them and they will buy cryptos.

Bankers do not believe in crypto and do no want to believe
it is too dangerous for them, it is like going against oneself...

but there will be always people that go beyond and break the rules
that p

people will be abundant and wealthy tomorrow!

Imagine a world where Satoshi, went to the banks and had a patent for them on blockchain...today we'd be looking at a growing class of Trillionaires..in that they would still charge
the same rates and be able to move $$$ via crypto w/o any real fees

not to mention the savings on labor etc....so a 1-2% transaction fee for everything banking wise yet...with no real costs

they would kill

the above is what has the bankers really pissed at BTC/crypto and Satoshi...what was he thinking? They could all be 10x to 100x richer if he had just done the above

(ah the hate, let it flow off the bankers, into the dark side of the force) Smiley
