Posting this to torture the CAPs community  Got my block splitting tool running for CAP. Have a hard time staking without it   While at it, can you do it for HBN and add the setsplitthreshold like HYP  |

If you don't want your 7k block to halve than you should set threshold to 7k or even higher.
Don't forget that it will also add the POS reward to the 7K block before the code decide whether to split or not. So for a 7K block you need a splitthreshold of about 7200 if you don't want it to split. And I am not sure if you realize that in order to be able to use a splitthreshold of 7200, you need to own 7200 x 500 = 3.6 Million HBN which at the moment no one even remotely comes close to. It is totally different that set splitthreshold in HYP. Thanks for clarifying it. |

my blocks are still halving even though i did splitthreshold 9000 and currently all my block sizes are less than 9000.
Interesting discussion. Please let me elaborate a bit cause there is a little more to it I think.
With the splitthreshold command everyone owning HBN can change the default splitthreshold of 5 to a maximum of 100 HBN. so far so good. But a threshold of 100 means that a staked block including the stake it produced won't split if the combined amount is less than 100.
Example1: splitthreshold set to 100, staking block = 95, POS-reward is 4, combined amount is 95+4=99, Result: no splitting, just 1 new block of 99.
Example2: splitthreshold set to 100, staking block = 98, POS-reward is 4, combined amount is 98+4=102, Result: splitting will occur, 2 new blocks are formed of 51 HBN each.
As for the maximum threshold amount, everyone can set it at 100 but some can set it even higher. To do so, you need to own a certain amount of HBN. The amount you have will decide what your maximum splitthreshold can be: It's the total of your stash divided by 500. So if you own 100K, your max splitthreshold will be 100K/500=200. Already twice the regular maximum!
Big wallets contribute a lot to the safety of the network and this is the perk that comes with it.
So buy and keep to raise your limit, or not, it's all up to you!
For now max is 100, unless you really have lot of HBN and then can use higher value  When i do splitthreshold 500 i get a confirm saying amount: 243.68 My block size is around 7000 when it stakes i am getting 177hbn and it halving the block. What am i doing wrong? |

Lets say you have a block of 17500 and splittthreshold is set to 9000: Your Block stakes after 10 days for ~350 hbn, your new Block will be 17850 - no Blockhalving occurs. After the next 10 days, your Block stakes again for ~357 hbn, now you will get two Blocks of 9103.5hbn. Hope i explained it understanable Max PoS reward is 250 HBN You are right, i forgot about it. my blocks are still halving even though i did splitthreshold 9000 and currently all my block sizes are less than 9000. |

I had my coins in the new wallet since the 17th and it keeps saying I will stake in 10 sec and it is not staking.
I have over 1million coins and my weight is higher than the networks.
Does u had any stake ? Possible a line in conf like staking=0 or something? And the time isnt correct, because if u have Net-Weight of 0 and ur weight is 100M, but ur coin age is lower then 12h , then u have to wait until coinage is ok I do not have a conf file, and my time is correct. It is still not staking. I had reserve balance 1.000 after removing it, it staked. |

TEK diff is riding pretty high these days! It almost reached 0.011 a few hours ago... If I get it right, this is mainly caused by small blocks (so I consolidated mine as much as possible) but I must admit I don't understand very well the following: PoS diff rises and falls depending on how many coins are getting staked how often similar to PoW mining diff Does it mean the more coins are waiting to stake the higher is difficulty? What is the exact relationship between PoS difficulty and PoW difficulty? (sorry if these questions are too obvious, but I still have a lot of knowledge to acquire ) I would like to know the answer as well, i have 5 blocks ready to stake but my wallet is locked waiting on the difficulty to drop a little. |
