2. Some non-emergency services (roads, maybe trash).
3. Prosecution of criminals (violence, theft, sex offenses).
4. Military
I think trash is such area where free market can work, with proper regulation. That is hefty penalties when trash is dumped where it shouldn't be... I support regulations in areas where natural monopols can form... Water, sewage and electricity... |

Some times you just can't understand them... I'm not one to ignore people, but it might be worth the effort atleast in two cases... You all do realize that our modern day values are derived from Judeo-Christian values?
Including:
Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Thou shalt not covet.
Most European and American law is based on Judeo-Christian (biblical) law.
If you feel comfortable with any of the above, well, that says alot.
You know lot of people have done very well those laws under those laws, murdering thousands or millions... They are the most obvious things around, but some how the most vocal believers don't even follow them... And what about rest of the values? And the rules? Should those be also followed? |

This. If euthanasia or abortion is legal, its not OK for the state to prosecute a doctor. And if the procedure have know rate of not helping, it's not helping shouldn't be an issue. On other hand if the surgeon was drunk, high, too tired etc. on routine operation and this lead to death there should be consequences... |
