321  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL 3-15-13 update...Testing to Shipping...in "days". on: March 16, 2013, 08:25:25 PM
"days" is like Soon™ right?
322  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: March 16, 2013, 08:22:47 PM
My counter is $1,500, or BTC 32, for 1.
Offer valid for ~ 22 hours, noon CDT, Sun 2013-03-17, possibility of renewal.
Proof of payment to Avalon, sending and receiving addresses required.
Upon sale of all three units, you will cease all scammer claims regarding Batch #1.

I also believe they are worth more than $1,500.  Since you think you have been scammed, I am offering you the possibility to receive your original money back, and I will bear the responsibility of my own judgement that Avalon is competent.

Sure, send the 32 BTC to 1JK3Kz6MpuTZ7NKRtVejJhcHCtPtuJAJ1G, then as soon as I receive my Avalons I will tell you I shipped 1 to you. Then for the next 2 months I will ignore all emails and messages from you and you'll never receive a tracking number. At some point in the future you may or may not receive the unit. Since that's clearly not a scam by your own definition, do we have a deal?

That leaves me with 2 more Batch-1 Avalons. Anyone else want one under those same conditions?

LOL, Owned...
323  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC Store - BitSyncom on: March 15, 2013, 06:35:42 PM
So, when you go here:
http://store.avalon-asics.com/?product=avalon-asic-batch-2

login and click "my account" and nothing shows up under orders?
324  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: March 15, 2013, 05:56:04 PM
I'm going to rack mine, for now just placing on a shelf in the racks. Their home is already waiting for them.
325  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC Store - BitSyncom on: March 15, 2013, 05:45:20 PM
Click order number and see if info is there. on my account the shipping and billing addresses are blank, but they are correct on the order.
326  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: March 15, 2013, 04:02:59 PM
Right. The question is, is tuning the block sizes causing a problem with p2pool? Is that the "bug"?
327  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: March 15, 2013, 12:49:42 PM
The .8 "bug" was because of people tinkering with the block sizes. A single transaction was 990kb, below the hard limit of 1mb, but above the threshold that .7 liked so .7 rejected it and .8 accepted it. That cuased the fork, for 11 subsequent blocks.

I wonder if the reason p2pool has issues is because some miners decide to try and restrict their local bitcoind block sizes. Using the settings rav3n_pl and other have posted to reduce latency.

If miners have inconsistent bitcoind setting for block sizes how does p2pool aggregate them to make a block within the shares?

Forrest?

Has anyone received tracking info by email at all? The few people I've seen here, have received it by calling DHL, or after the fact on delivery.
329  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: March 14, 2013, 01:21:28 AM
Well I'm 200000300 I ordered at the very end of batch 1 part 1. Before batch 1 part 2. So I assume there are ~200 units in front of me and ~100 after me. I haven't heard anything. Never had an answer to a pm or my ticket to keep EMS shipping.
330  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: March 13, 2013, 09:01:20 PM
Some of my family ( Great grandparents & cousins ) is from way northeast Russia.  I'm in Florida, cold here is a warm summer day for them. Virtually never gets below 0C.

Buy an asic instead and let it buy you 10 of those cards.

Nothing is stored on the card unless you flashed the bios.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Locked it up and forgot the password on: March 13, 2013, 08:35:15 PM
Try advanced zip password recovery. It's nice to have the beginning ( if you know for sure ). You can make that a prefix and pick what characters were in it.
334  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: March 13, 2013, 08:31:12 PM
We need some of these big new ASIC rigs that have been making the rounds lately on BTCGuild and eligius to show up at p2pool.

Heck, 1 of them would be nice.

I have a batch 1 order ( of several units ) and the same in batch 2. they'll be here as soon as they get to me and I can get them working.
335  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: March 13, 2013, 07:31:37 PM
What was your order # invader? Wish I'd get an update or something. I'm coming into busy season and I'll be at sea next week and for the second half of april.

So hard to plan delivery of things you ordered 6 months ago. Originally it was EMS, then DHL and I had to ask for EMS. I'm just glad they are going out. So anxious, its like being 5 years old at christmas Cheesy

Past luck doesn't guarantee future luck...
Past luck dosnt affect future's luck at all...

On p2pool, it does. If all the miners leave because they think the pool sucks, and the main page says they are loosing 50% of their income by staying here, then yeah, past luck is going to ruin future luck.

Luck in CO-OPs and pools like this is decided almost as much by faith. If p2pool had enough hashrate, everything would be fine.
337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A successful DOUBLE SPEND US$10000 against OKPAY this morning. on: March 12, 2013, 09:18:06 PM
Any guesses as to the reason it didn't show up in the pre-0.8 branch?   I don't see any reason that the original transaction could be systematically rejected by one branch and not the other.  Even transactions that hadn't made it into blocks in the pre-0.7 branch should still be in the nodes' memory pools and double-spends rejected.

Has this been answered?

Perfect timing, the second transaction went in because it was mined, and at the same time enough pools reverted while the chain was reloaded that it was 51% and the other block was considered orphaned so it was included.
338  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Number of Avalon boxes in the wild as of today on: March 12, 2013, 03:32:20 PM
By Hashrate, there's at least 10 mining on BTCGuild. Probably as many elsewhere.
339  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: When will Avalon open up pre orders again. on: March 11, 2013, 11:19:42 PM
i wonder how quick batch 3 will open on their site and then sell out... how quick did batch 2 sell out?

within a few hours, would have been instant if the website could handle it, and there weren't so many fake/cancelled orders.

I should point out that Avalon sold 1000 units within Batch 1 (in China).

less FUD please, there's total of 300 units for batch one, -/+ 10. this includes in china. fun fact: we rejected 2x 100+ orders and a deal to buy the whole 300 unit lot.

p.s.
sorry about the DHL delay guys, since we are doing shipping through another company we get the tracking a few days after we ship, and due information being passed through multiple parties, it is entirely possible you'll receive units before tracking information, which is currently what is happening.

No worries Yifu. Any chance for an update on my order to US by EMS? 200000300 many thanks.
