Let me get this straight for myself, if I were to be an investigator, I could buy the claim and go after the scammer for the funds, even up to taking them to court or what ever possible means to receive the fund/goods?
And if this is correct, I understand how debt is sold now. I have been wondering how dept was being sold.
Debt is being sold without much legal precedent. I mean, if the court's willing to accept forum PMs as the basis of an enforceable loan - then yeah, it's possible, but more likely, it will need to be settled individual-to-individual with the lendee. That could involve a range of options, with better options existing if you're physically near the lendee, which is why I think it's important to include location and as much dox'ing as available. legally a verbal contract is just as binding as a written one. It's just harder to prove that it exists. If you took them to court and got a (default) judgement, how are you going to collect bitcoins. you can't garnish or levy against them. You'd have to come up with a fiat value. You should add something to the terms of the loan that should there be a default the fiat value is the highest price on gox within the terms of the loan price or something.

12.1 and the 2.1sdk with phatk kernel is the best for 5xxx
My 5970 get 400 mhash per core at 900 MHz with vrm below 100c

how would i be able to bring it up so i can check on it while i am R.D. into that system
You won't. You can use the API or something like anubis. Also if you remote desktop the ati driver will unload and break all the temp fan voltage and clock changing abilities.

Just run intensity 7. The computer will run well and still hash good. You can also hide cgminer with a vbscript. Just paste into a text file and rename whatever.vbs and run it. Set WinScriptHost = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") WinScriptHost.Run Chr(34) & "C:\cgminer\cgminer.exe" & Chr(34), 0 Set WinScriptHost = Nothing
You'll have to use task manager to kill it.

I put my rigs in a datacenter co location. Power is included.. So is good ac and battery backup and Internet. BRing your own server is cheap. I can get boxes hard reset with a ip kvm and power managment. My biggest worry is a card going bad. Then I have to go in. I'm paying for the boxes anyways for web development so the coins are "free money".

I wonder if someone has secretly made just ONE (that they were happy with) ASIC bitcoin miner and rather than trying to publicize it, just have been mining with it in the shadows.
ASIC biggest cost is development. Once it's done the actual asics themselves are dirt cheap. If the can make one, they can make a million for less than the cost to develop. Fpga are expensive. Asics are very simple.

The blocks have a checksum built in as part of the hash if they alter the block the hash is changed since the checksum will be off and it won't be a valid share anymore.
Most pool run an alternate blockchain that build towards a valid block. Each share difficulty is different from the a actual bitcoin chain, you can't submit the shares directly.
The most you could do is flood the server with invalid shares or withhold a winning block.

Load balance or round robin, but then no back up pools.
It would be nice if you could flag a pool or pools individually as failover only last resort or something.

My miners are on a apc ip KVM. It uses a USB port and a vga\dvi. If its not active it I'll trigger a watchdog that will reset the box or turn it on. It works great. Probably not ideal for small time miners.

Even crazier than the diff skyrocketing will be when all these ASIC's are up and running, and something within the protocol will need to be changed and all those ASIC's become useless, bringing power back to GPU & FPGA miners =P Or btc will die out and a alt currency which employs something different in its algo will also cause BTC ASIC's to become useless. So, hold onto some of your GPU's everyone =)
People keep saying this, with no understanding of what a "change in the protocol" means. Performing a SHA256 hash is something that will not change. There are ways to change the way hashes are made to break an ASIC. ASIC is hard wired. It can't change at all. FPGA can be reprogrammed with a new bitstream. GPUs are the same. A very minor change could make a lot of expensive paperweights and would be a great way to keep bitcoin operating the way it was meant, openly accessible to virtually anyone with everyday hardware, not a bunch of elites with fancy expensive hardware. It's supposed to be run by the people, not the "1%"

That is true, you do need some proof that you sent funds to the person you are accusing. Not as if wire transfers are the only way to do that but it is easier for the police to work with since it is something they deal with semi-regularly.
Definitely depends on the country, the US is very locale specific in how the police would deal with complaints. Where as some Asian countries have actually been vocal about the willingness to use police action over digital property crimes.
Exactly. Please show me an example where BTC has been stolen and somebody prosecuted for that. This would show BTC is legitimate or starting to be accepted by the "world". The guy accepted wire transfer then fails to deliver = no wonder he gets jail. Why has shakaru scammer not had any problems whatsoever ? Maybe he is such a good guy and everybody loved him ? Or maybe nobody can do a damn thing to BTC hackers / scammers unless BTC is legalised. You can sue for breach of contract and the lost value and consequential damages as well as the value of the item. There are things that are sold or traded that are not money. Especially art and real estate and securities where no real cash trades hands, only digital codes or rights or certificates. You could even claim fraud and possible go for treble damages in small claims court and easily win a judgement, or get police involved.

That's a capacitor. One of my cards has one melted/cooked up by the power connectors.from someone dropping a screw there between the pcie connectors Works fine without..

So what happened? I saw some minimal downtime but I only got paid for about half or so. Work that spilled to backup pools doesn't appear to be significant.
It was less than a days work and there was downtime. I was running the sessions in Putty on a wireless connection while I was moving...bad idea. I'll look at your numbers on my end... Hope your having fun, it is hot and muggy here! I'm here in MN. It's hot. Not muggy compared to FL. I'll send you a PM. Maybe you give me me some ideas for stuff to do locally.
