What's going on with the implication of the anon?

Is bista still working with ICG?

I'm just going to play devil's advocate here for a second, but before I do, I just want to state that I've been with XST from the beginning and I really want to believe in this project. I'm not trying to spread FUD...take it as you will.

When the coin first came out, the lead dev went away for ten days to work on the anon feature, which due to certain circumstances (bad internet connection ect...) was unable to do so.

So now it's going to take two months? It went from ten days to two months?

I understand waiting to release the whitepaper, due to copycats, but I have to play devil's advocate and wonder if there is such a thing as StealthSend or are the devs just giving themselves enough time to figure out a plan.

Again, I'm not trying to spread FUD but I think it's okay to ask questions and show concerns. I don't plan on getting rid of my XST anytime soon.

These are great points. First let me say that I had absolutely no chance to work on that retreat because I couldn't get an internet connection most of the time. I couldn't even fix the syncronization problems with StealthCoin during that period. You'll notice that the day I got back to civilization, things started to improve. Since then, the StealthCoin network quickly became the healthiest network on bittrex and StealthCoin has consistently been in the coinmarketcap top 100.

Changing the plan for StealthSend was completely my idea based on what we wanted StealthSend to be and on the fact that I lost 10 days during the retreat. We've gone through three plans for StealthSend, each more ambitious than the previous. The first plan was to do a centralized mixer, but that idea was scrapped pretty quickly because mixing does not provide trustless cryptographic anonymity.

The second plan was cryptographic in nature, but we decided the problem of blockchain bloat would be crippling after a year or two. I personally investigated this problem of bloat for about one week until I found a solution in the cryptography literature, using a signature system that has only been outlined as a protocol and theoretical proofs. In other words, there is no implementation of the signature system we are going to use for StealthSend. I could show our hand by citing the paper here or even revealing the first author, but that's going to wait for the white paper.

But I believe I can say the following without revealing too much. I'll compare the StealthSend signature system to Cryptonote signatures, which is the only true cryptographic anonymity for cryptocurrencies presently available. A cryptonote signature of 100 keys means that a particular transaction only has a 1% chance of belonging to any one of the addresses in the ring (1/100 = 1%). However, the ring signature for a transaction of 100 keys requires about 64 kb of block chain storage. The StealthSend signature system provides the same level of cryptographic security (1% chance of ownership for the sender) but needs only 1/15th to 1/10th the the space (4 to 6.5 kb). That's a HUGE savings and has serious implications for the long term viability of a coin. Bear in mind that the theory of our signature system is fully supported by peer review and has been published in a reputable journal.

But why will implementing our signature system take so long? Well, there won't be much code in implementing the signature system, but the challenge is in determining what that code should be from the theoretical description of the protocol. That takes time, understanding, and testing. Two months is probably on the short side, but I believe I can do it.

In the mean time, we have been working on a mobile sending technology that I'm really excited about. But we plan to release details in a few days. This technology is no where near as difficult to implement as the new signature system. It's also completely practical. In my opinion, it's a far better mobile technology than other teams have offered.

We'll keep you posted.

Thank you for taking the time to respond!

The devs here seem to be more forthcoming and transparent than I've seen with a lot of other coins. There's an eye on the long-term and a true desire to make the best anonymous coin that has come out thus far.

I'd rather be a part of something that has a long-term effect and something with utility.

These are the reasons that I will be sticking with XST!

Keep up the good work!

Update:

We have decided on implementing a change to the POS %.

Through a community poll and chatting with various community members we have come to the decision to change it to 5% annually.

We are now discussing this with the Dev team & we will inform you what the ETA will be. The Dev team has already mentioned that it can be changed quite quickly, so stay tuned.

Thank you.

Thanks for the update!  Smiley

So what's going on with the development?

Can we get an update?

This isn't high school people, crypto is a lottery game half the time and the best coin doesn't always win. We have a 132 page thread with great information, unfortunately trolling is tarnishing that work.

Good luck to everyone and stop this nonsense.

+1

I can give two shits about what other coins people are invested in. Let's just focus on our investments and do what we can to help take them as far as we can.

Take statdude for instance, he isn't complaining about other coins, he's taking the initiative to get XST noticed by a broader audience. Maybe trolling can bring other people here...but it's not the type of attention that you want to attract to a coin.

Let's let the work speak for itself. If the devs and the community can deliver, the people will come.

Why would people dump this coin so cheap?  Huh

weak hands  Cool

early buyers supply will dry up and it will just move up. whale is trying to buy but order is not filling

Yeah, I see the order @350 sat. Someone just filled 2 BTC worth.

no one has sold into that  order see market history

Ah, ok...then the whale reduced their order. I saw it change as I was watching. I didn't check out the history.

So, what is your price projection for this coin in the short-term/long-term?

i do think 1-2000sats is where this will be trading at and once anon imlplemented 10-20k

I guess we better enjoy these low prices while they last.  Grin This is a very cool project...I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes!  Smiley

Is anyone working on making the wallet more user friendly? Having to take multiple steps to get the wallet to work isn't good for mass adoption.

Guys, I'm begging, please stop the talk about hacking and wallet losses.  This has nothing to do with XST.

With the amount of trolling these days all it takes is one dummy who doesn't read the entire thread to take this way out of context.

you may want to consider setting up a VRN for yourself as well.  There are some good solutions out there, please PM ME if you need suggestions.

Trekrider   You are again trolling in ARcoin thread. Do I have to tell you again and again why I prefer ARcoin from XST?

Both coins are same in regards to TOR but ARcoin is rare only 0.5 million and only 5% POS, Plus it has webwallet and android wallet.

And this is an upcoming development:

ARcoin Dev: This is the second plan we have and I am taking care of organizing this with law makers in Switzerland.

I'm planning to lunch an ARCoin ETF in Switzerland.

An ETF would make possible for everyone to buy ARCoins from the traditional Stock Market anywhere in the world!

Just like the Winklevoss Brothers are doing for Bitcoin: http://www.coindesk.com/winklevoss-bitcoin-etf-trade-nasdaq-coin-symbol/

I will work hard to make this possible!

Unlike your "dev" we don't over moderate and delete every post.

ARcoin - copy of XST
Wall St event - copy of IE's proposed publicity stunt
Switzerland ETF - copy what the Winklevoss twins are doing

You do realize your "dev" who does not even code can't come up with one original idea whatsoever.
He is also flat out lying to you guys, no way he pulls off the ETF thing.  Do you have any idea the time and cost to make that happen?

Who cares??

ARCoin is a clone of XST, but slamming them isn't going to raise the value of XST.

Let's just focus on what we have going on over here and let the ARCoin investors do what they want.

If our devs are as legit as we think they are...then it's just a matter of time before XST will shine.

It sucks to see shitcoins and clones doing better than XST at the moment, but it is what it is, and we just have to be patient. Trolling back and forth isn't going to change anything.

So what is the verdict on the white paper? Is it still going to be released on the 7th or did you decide to wait until late September?

I'm surprised that there wasn't much of a response on this from the community.  Huh
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XST] StealthCoin | PoS + Tor | Vote on BTC38,Cryptsy! - New Website Live! on: August 03, 2014, 06:22:44 AM
Hondo again, using my StealthSend address.

I'm checking in here at bitcointalk tonight.

First of all, sorry about that post with the big red letters directed at HunterS. That was me, but I wanted to get his attention because I don't want to see him lose his XST. I checked out Hunter's address and noticed that he had done a lot of work creating staking transactions. This effort really helps to secure the blockchain and get transactions processed. I live for stable networks and smooth transaction processing, so seeing all that stake really makes me happy.

Second (and related to Hunter's efforts), I calculated the growth of the money supply since StealthCoin went pure PoS. Because so many people keep coins on exchanges or offline, the money supply has been growing at about 4.8% per year since the switch. What follows is the calculation. (1) The money supply at the switch was 20716721.24 XST. (2) The money supply when I made the calculation about an hour ago was 20776246.37 XST. (3) The change in money was 0.287% during that time ([20776246.37 - 20716721.24] / 20716721.24). (4) The number of days since PoS has been about 21.8, or 0.0597 of a year. Therefore, the APR over that time is 0.287% / 0.0597 = 4.8%!

What's that mean to people who are staking continuously? Well, if you stake continuously, you'll earn interest at about 21% (compounded nominal 20%), meaning your money at the end of a year will be 1.21 times what it was at the beginning. However, the money supply will only be 1.048 times what it was at the beginning. That means your actual control of the money supply will grow at 15.46% ([1.21 - 1.048) / 1.048])! In other words, just by continuously staking, you will earn 15.46% of real money supply! That is, you won't just be keeping up with the money supply, you will be getting ahead of it!

Third, I'd like to ask the community what they think about postponing release of the white paper. In it, I discuss how StealthSend works, but I also include some necessary details that may help other teams duplicate our efforts. After much reflection, I feel like it would be better to release the whitepaper maybe 5 days before StealthSend (which is still scheduled for the end of September). What do you guys think?

I was actually wondering about copycats taking the idea, once the white paper gets released. Since there is such a gap in between the white paper and the actual release of StealthSend, I think it's wise to wait.

Yes, releasing the white paper will get people excited and will probably cause a spike in the value, but nothing will make the coin more valuable than actually being ready to release something of value that no other coin has.

We basically have to trust that there IS such a thing and that you ACTUALLY know what your doing. I'm sure everyone here knows that crypto is a gamble though..so that just goes with the territory. Two months is a long time to wait in cryptoland...I hope you guys will fill the gap with something so the community will keep faith in this project.

In the roadmap section on Stealth-Coin.com, it shows the new wallet functionality and analytical tools section is checked like it's finished.

Is that true?

Just a warning...I sent some Bitcoin to C-CEX over an hour ago and it still hasn't showed up. The transaction isn't even showing up on Blockchain.info.

 Undecided

If the transaction is not showing up then it has nothing to do with C-cex.

Correct. I just sent some BTC to C-Cex and it worked flawlessly (took like 10-15 min).

I know what I did...noob mistake.  Grin

It's showing up now.

Great website guy's! Any plans for an android wallet?

Yes, we are working on an online wallet with an android front end. This is not ideal because web wallets are not trustless systems.

A standalone Android wallet (trustless) is tough because of Tor. To make it work, there needs to be gateway nodes that the mobile wallets submit transactions through. It would be ideal of these gateway nodes were hosted by the community. The use of gateway nodes would be trustless. They would just submit transactions through the Tor network.

So it might take a while to develop the standalone Android wallet because we would have to write new code for the gateway nodes.

To summarize, we have no projected date for a standalone Android wallet although we are close to an Android wallet app.

I think smartphones wallets (android/ios) can be good without tor

It's good to know that the devs primary focus is on true anonymity. That's why I think XST has long-term potential.
