321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Stolen ETH from myetherwallet.com on: October 20, 2017, 07:34:09 PM
Today I received a letter from support@myetherwallet.website with such content:

Quote
Dear MyEtherWallet user,
Following the latest ETH fork, there is an excess of ETH to be distributed among Ethereum holders.
For every 1 ETH in your MyEtherWallet wallet, you are entitled to receive 0.1 ETH free ( EX: you own 100 ETH you will receive 10 ETH free ).
In order to receive your free ETH, please prove that you are still active on our blockchain by logging in to MyEtherWallet

and confirm your wallet.
Wallets that are unconfirmed in the next 24h will not participate in the ETH distribution.
Thank you
MyEtherWallet LLC

What do you think about it?

What's there to say? It's an obvious scam, There is no excess eth to be distributed and the website url ends with .website.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam or real ico on: October 19, 2017, 12:56:53 PM
The word "Scam" is used too often nowadays.

Yes, there are ico's that straight up steal your money.
With a minimum amount of research you can spot these a mile away.

Most icos aren't a straight up scam but a result of an incompetent team, a shit product or even a product that hasn't been made yet, no development, mismanagement of funds, and on and on.

You know, problems that failed businesses all have in common.

Approach an ico like a real investor, not a wishful thinker who hopes, "This will make me a millionaire by next year!!!"

Would you give your money to a company that has little to no experience, has grammatical errors on their page, doesn't have a development roadmap, copies others projects or ideas, asks you to invest but keeps most of the wealth of the company to themselves, doesn't have anything to show for their work, won't communicate with you in a professional way? etc?

You're totally right in the fact people are just giving these projects way too much money..it's just getting crazy.

Do your research and invest through using that.
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN won't make you rich! Quantity is important? on: October 19, 2017, 12:53:39 PM
The ultimate goal of people should not be getting rich with bitcoin, if you make profit it is okay. I think there are not many people who got rich buying in 2011

If I look through this board, I get the feeling that getting rich with btc is exactly the goal many people have in mind  Grin

Every transaction needs gas, in order to make a transaction you will need to load up your wallet with ether.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Calculating Token Value to Fiat Post-ICO on: October 16, 2017, 12:36:39 AM
Not too sure if I know where you're going to.
But yes if you have 50000 tokens and the price would reach 1 usd per token, which would be around 0.0001759btc per token (at the time of writing), you would be 50k richer.

326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ico scams on: October 16, 2017, 12:31:46 AM
I've never been a scam victim in an ICO project for the simple fact of investigating where I'm putting my money by looking for github, the team behind, the authenticity of the project, and everything. There was a project a week ago called Sentry that they were suspicious from the start calling themselves the Stratis Killer, Waves killer and I warned a lot of people not to get into it but everyone was talking shit to me and saying I was a "fudder". In the end the fact was confirmed and the pilangers stole more than 100 ethereum.

The night before I read about it being a scam I was bummed out that I didn't buy in. In hindsight I was lucky.

People usually like to take the easiest route, and I doubt this is easier then paying with a creditcard. How will you attract the casuals?
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DAO] 🚂 The Movement | Unstoppable Organization on: October 13, 2017, 04:07:43 PM

It hasn't stopped, the dev just is most likely working on things behind the scenes.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin future on: October 12, 2017, 08:29:28 PM
When bitcoin goes bearish again all will be fine, money will be flowing back into alts.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should you sell altcoins before the fork? on: October 10, 2017, 11:50:47 PM
I assume you try to buy into good projects, that you have some kind of faith in.
You buy them because you think they will be a good investment.

A good project will still be a good project whether btc forks or not, why would you sell?
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY SUCH CONTEMPT AND DISPARAGING FOR ALT-COINS?! on: October 10, 2017, 11:25:28 PM
The hate stems from uncertainty. People have money invested in btc and they react defensively.
A lot of alts are already technically superior to bitcoin, who knows what the future brings for some of them.
No one knows what the future brings, but that does not change the fact that most of the ICOs are scam. It is not that ICOs are not good, but how most people have used the avenue to create coins that are shitty (we cannot deny that) and make the whole market just filled with non progressful coins can be so annoying.

Like you said, it is no doubt that some projects are really coming up which might give a great push in the market but until then and no one knows the future.

You're right, there are lot's of scams that get people to look more negative at alts and approach them in a negative way.

So how are you using zec technology? Or are you just using the good zec name?

334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: join eXMR airdrop on: October 09, 2017, 11:42:10 AM
Is there new hype of naming eXXX? =)

New hype of stealing a coin's name, putting an e in front of it.
Get as many people to join as they can then a small pump, then it's over.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Red Pulse (RPX) just destroyed themselves - Worst ICO ever! on: October 09, 2017, 11:22:51 AM
Same here, didn't get in, but not too salty about it.
Horrible ico though if you ask me.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: are the trend ( e ) btc , dash , ltc........ just to earn money? on: October 08, 2017, 02:07:42 AM
I wonder if this is all done by the same guys. Most are done with google forms or .io sites and none of em have any plans or roadmap.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrop on: October 08, 2017, 02:01:42 AM
Instant community, maybe a more fair way of distributing as you don't need lot's of hash power.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETHEREUM !!! We go up !!! on: October 08, 2017, 12:30:34 AM
ETH should break above $400 on next try and then it can run to $600 - $700 easily.
Just a matter of time.

These price levels are basically impossible for ETH.
If the price increases only a few %, many ICOs will liquidate further
parts of their ETH holdings, which will soak up the buying demand very quickly.

I´m pretty sure we will never see Ethereum prices above 500 $ / ETH again.

It like some people don't know about the prices eth was at not too long ago,
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fork time / bloody october? on: October 07, 2017, 07:24:14 PM
I think things will remain relatively calm compared to last time with bch, nothing to worry about.
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Adult Coins on: October 05, 2017, 01:04:57 PM
I don't believe in these kind of projects, mainly because of the pumping and dumping and fake news/partnerships that are usually involved with them.
