321  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I have an issue with one of my antminer s9 B13 on: October 13, 2016, 01:58:37 PM
I'm a little confused by your wording.

Did you try each board one at a time to determine which one is not working?

Did you try each data port with that board to determine it is the board and not the port it is plugged into?

Did you try using a different cable to determine if it is the cable?

If you have determined that after the above it is the board and you are still under warranty then you should be able to get it repaired. You could also possibly get it repaired if not under warranty, but it will cost you.

Thank You! Payment received.  Smiley
323  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Mining in CKPool Dust Payments on: October 13, 2016, 01:05:22 AM
This should really be posted in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.0
You should probably read through some of that thread first. That question is answered many, many, many times.

But to answer your question, some time in the very distant future.
Or if you have a high enough total of dust payments you can ask Kano and he can process it for for you.
324  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I have an issue with one of my antminer s9 B13 on: October 12, 2016, 06:59:48 PM
Have you tried switching which port the ribbon cable to the controller is plugged in?
This would eliminate whether it was the controller causing the problem or the board.
325  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need help on S9 first farm setup on: October 12, 2016, 06:54:38 PM
You can get them cheaper than that.
Especially on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/APC-AP8941-Switched-Rack-200-240V-30A-Vertical-0U-G2-PDU-/302007831318?hash=item465111cb16:g:xg0AAOSwzJ5XfrJf

They are handy if you are far away and need to reboot a locked machine. But as jstew said, it is not very often that you need to do that. And really if you have a locked machine and can't get there for a day, you are only losing out on the hashrate of that one machine for that time, so most likely not a huge impact.

Yeah, October 12th, the real Columbus Day. Not just the second Monday in October.  Cheesy
327  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,NL on: October 12, 2016, 06:40:28 PM
It could have been the end of a shift or a block was found on the network so the pool needed to send workers the new block info to work on and it takes a few seconds for everyone to switch over. Nothing to be concerned about.

Awesome. Nice to see such a nice and green number next to it. With a decent amount of fees too.  Grin
329  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dont have to pay for electricity, whats the best miner? on: October 12, 2016, 04:10:26 PM
I would agree with philipma1957, get an S7 and downclock. This will still give you a decent hashrate and low enough power draw that you should be safe with anything that has fairly recent wiring (within the last 20 years). This would also be somewhat quiet, the power supply might be loud depending on what you use. Also depending on the size of the apartment heat might become an issue for you. You are essentially talking about running an 800watt heater all the time.

"the server psus require 220v so just have ur electrictian run a 20 amp 220v line to were the miner will be"

When you say "run a 20 amp 220v line", does that mean I can only have 3 s9's max on that one line?  So if I have 10 s9's, I would need the electrician run a 4 20 amps 220v line?  If I have a 100 s9's, I would need about 34 20 amps 220v line?

Yes, that is one option. You could also run larger lines (30, 50, 100amp, etc.) and use a PDU for each group of miners. This is what some people do. You can get PDU's that plug into your network and you can access them remotely if you were away and had an unresponsive miner you could hard restart it with the PDU.

There is a lot of research to do when you are looking at a larger scale such as this. A couple miners, is pretty simple and does not need much, but 100+ TH takes a little more planning.
331  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Good pools that let you keep some of your block reward? on: October 12, 2016, 03:34:54 PM
Yes, the orb would be dust, so solo is a good idea.

And put the S3 on any of those three pools.
My only point with picking kano is that you will receive payouts more frequently (albeit small ones).

If you don't mind waiting weeks or possibly months for a payout (a larger one), then the smaller pools would be good.

In the end with such a small hashrate, the differences between any of the pools will be extremely small, a few pennies.

Shameless plug:  Wink
If you are looking for more S3's I have some for sale: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1636524.0
332  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Arduino with lots of accessories and sensors on: October 12, 2016, 03:03:38 AM
So I logged into adafruit and seeedstudio and found some of the invoices for some of the stuff.

From Invoices
Arduino UNO R3 - $29.95
Arduino Ethernet Shield - $45.00
Grove Water Sensor - $2.90 each x 4 = $11.60
Grove Button - $1.90 each x 4 = $7.60
Grove OLED 1.12" - $14.90
6V Mini Water Pump - $6.90
9 VDC 1a Power adapter - $6.95
9V Battery Holder - $3.95

From Current Price on Sites
Grove Shield - $9.95
Grove OLED 0.96" - $14.90
2 line 16 character LCD Display - $8.90
Temp Sensor with steel head - $1.50 each x 2 = $3.00
Grove Terminal Adapters - $2.90 each x 2 = $5.80
Grove Relay - $2.90
Grove Light Sensor - $2.90 each x 3 = $8.70
Grove GPS Module - $29.90

That is $210.90 and that does not include everything or tax and shipping.
I think the total I spent was approximately $250-$275.

The price that I used was for $175 USD at the time.
BTC / USD has increased so I will decrease the price accordingly  0.28BTC
But go ahead and make an offer.  Smiley

Stop using a paper clip to jump the pins.
You don't want to risk a spark that might let all the magic smoke out!  Wink
Price lowered for your safety.

Throw a couple old hard drives in there, you know you want to.  Wink  Price lowered.
335  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] S3's, S5's, S4, S7's, A6 on: October 12, 2016, 01:26:33 AM
I lowered the prices on the S3's and S4, so you can lower those fuel oil bills with a wonderful bitcoin miner or two or more.  Grin
336  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Garage Sale -> Things my wife said to sell on: October 12, 2016, 01:22:52 AM
Yes, they do. But more are born every day, so I'm sure there is someone out there who could benefit from these things.  Smiley
337  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Nest Learning Thermostat on: October 12, 2016, 01:21:07 AM
Winter is Coming!  Act now to keep you Nest warm on those upcoming cold nights. I know you aren't all running enough miners to heat your house completely.  Wink

339  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Arduino with lots of accessories and sensors on: October 12, 2016, 01:17:48 AM
Back up to top. I thought for sure someone would be interested in this stuff. Or is this stuff too old now?   Cheesy
340  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] GoPro HERO 4 Black Edition on: October 12, 2016, 01:14:17 AM
More likely it would be me sending it back if it doesn't work. Let me know if you are serious about this, and I will see if I can work something out. I would however need to guarantee I don't end up getting scammed(not saying it is), which I am sure would also be a priority for you.

No, I think I am just going to put it on fleabay as-is broken for parts whatever. Broken ones are going on there for $80-$150 for just the camera with no batteries or case.

So if someone wants to take it before I post it there and close this thread, I'll give it another day here.

0.25BTC Shipped

Have you tried contacting the company anyways?  Some tech companies are quite flexible, if they see a legitimate reason they might still fix it/send you a replacement.  Worked with my fitbit, and it's possible that gopro would operate in similar fashion.

Yeah, FitBit is a lot better about that.
GoPro will offer a 10 or 20% discount on buying a new one from them, that is about it.
I'm not even sure if they will offer that since I bought it from Amazon and not them.
