Yes you can do this.
322  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trade Tips (Mods please relocate to appropriate subtopic) on: December 07, 2013, 09:39:21 PM
I could write a bot, that just fetches and parses the last post of this thread and executes it... Smiley

How would you decentralized this? I think this would have to be centralized to prove the user has the funds.

I would avoid a central server with the user list. Just a mesh. Every user holds a list with the IP addies of known users and sync regularly with those users to get new IP addies.

I will look into phonegap, does it support iphones?

Yes. Even desktop browsers etc. But Apple doesn't support iphones. Instead they are trying to keep users away from interesting apps.

I hear you LOL I have a lot projects as well. I dont know what I want to do.

Well, my problem was, that there's no way to make any money from this, if it's actually decentralized. So you don't know, how many users exist, where they are etc.

Maybe just start it as an opensource project and see if other devs join it?

Ciao,
Andreas

A decentralized localbitcoin app would be cool. Use the GPS functionality to find people near you.

I played a bit with phonegap:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=135392.0

, and you don't need any special mobile skills. It's just a website running on your mobile. You write anything in HTML and javascript (to animate the webpages).

If you're interested in a collab, let me know.

I have to run it as a sideproject, though, since my main project is java tradebot stuff.

326  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC-E PHP Currency Arbitrage Bot Full Code on: December 04, 2013, 03:26:52 PM
I'd like to do HFT, but since you can only fetch the prices every 15s, or so, it's practically impossible. Maybe with a network of servers, or so. But I only have 1 server atm, so I gave up on this for now...
327  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC-E PHP Currency Arbitrage Bot Full Code on: December 03, 2013, 06:29:31 PM
Does this strategy still work? I wrote a similar bot, but gave up on it, because all those bots at btc-e made it impossible to be proftiable, if you respect the request limits.

Here are my thoughts on Bitcoin right now.

Hmmh...you understand chart analysis? Are you a coder? I work on bot code.

Litecoins are also too high in my eyes. Most other coin types are just gambling. There are 1 or 2 exchanges trading them. If one of them removes them their value drops close to nil...

hello, i'm pretty brand new to bitcoins, as i just started investing in it yesterday. my friend showed me it, and i knew about it for awhile but never really thought of it as a way to make money. my current position i am in right now, i can make pretty good money but i needed something to invest it in, so i chose bitcoin and cryptocurrency. im just saying i am brand new to this, kind of don't understand mining and all of that.

I think you have to consider, that we have a bit of a bubble at the moment. Don't know if it's smart to buy a lot of coins for the current price.
331  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Hangout on: November 30, 2013, 07:14:52 PM
my laptop is to slow to mining, so its buying for me

You might also look into trading to make some profit. But with the current rise of nearly all coin types, just buy and hold might be the best strategy.

Hey guys another Newb from Oklahoma. I started mining about 3 weeks ago as strictly a hobby. A quick question regarding exceeding internet usage: Have any of you exceeded your internet usage plan from mining bit coins? I just received an email from Cox stating I have exceeded my plan. I not sure what my next steps would be. I am looking at increasing my download but just curious what types of plans other miners are using and if they have had any similar issues? Thanks again.

Is your problem the actual mining or the download of the blockchain in your wallet?

It seems that the only way to trade in alternative currencies like devcoin, namecoin is to get bit coin first and then trade for alt's at an exchange.
Can you generate addresses and keys off line (cold storage) for alt currencies just like you can with bit coin od do you have to trust the exchange with your address and keys ?

I think at least btc-e trades the namecoin <=> usd pair, so you can buy namecoins for us dollars?

Freilich...

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/MtGox/API/HTTP/v1#Multi_Currency_depth

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/MtGox/API/HTTP/v1#Multi_currency_trades

Das können wohl die allermeisten Exchanges...

Na einfach in einer Endlosschleife die Trades und die Depth vom Exchange abrufen.
339  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Trading Tool für Mt. Gox on: November 19, 2013, 09:17:45 PM
Ich glaub nicht für so lange Zeiträume. Es gibt für Gox z.B. ein Script hier im Forum.
340  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Trading Tool für Mt. Gox on: November 19, 2013, 08:53:20 PM
