321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with spam and scam tokens on my wallet? on: September 30, 2023, 12:28:14 AM
This is called address poisoning according to Faisal2202. It is method used by scammers to probably monitor the address and it is hard to stop this kind of attack because you can not stop people from sending you coins or tokens. If you are uncomfortable then a change of address is needed.

Here is also a thread by Pmalek you can read through get some measures on attacks like this
Yes, it is very difficult to avoid something like this, especially when your wallet address has been flagged by them. personally, I also have quite a lot of spam tokens in my wallet. The only way to avoid that is to replace your wallet with another wallet, or you can just ignore them. I quite believe that people tend to ignore such tokens in their wallets.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that you trust most on: September 29, 2023, 12:24:37 PM
There are thousands of altcoins in crypto market and each of coin has investors! Cause people have different choice from one to another.  People even invest in shitcoin to get rich quickly. So what are the names of your most 5 invested altcoins that you are holding or would like to invest soon?? Those are my choice
1. ETH
2. BNB
3. Arbitrum
4. Cake
5. ApeCoin

Not bad. But I'd take "ApeCoin" off the list, especially when it's a "meme" coin. It shouldn't be taken seriously unlike Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the likes. Coins like ApeCoin and Dogecoin are only good as a short-term investment. You'll never know when these coins will vanish, as people move on to the next big thing in crypto.

I wouldn't trust any altcoin that sacrifices decentralization in favor of high-performance and cost-efficiency, though. It's evident that the majority is not as "decentralized" as they claim to be. With Ethereum turning centralized because of PoS, we should expect the unexpected. Maybe Bitcoin will remain the only decentralized cryptocurrency in the future? Just my opinion Smiley
Yes, I also feel that meme coins should not be included in investment portfolios for the long term. This will increase the risk we have. However, we cannot force someone to change a portfolio that they believe will benefit them in the future. However, instead of including meme coins, there are still quite a lot of top altcoins that have the potential to develop in the future, or just include bitcoin as a replacement.
However, we can only give suggestions, apart from that, I also think that other altcoins are altcoins that have quite large potential in the future.
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if your country did not legalize cryptocurrency? on: September 29, 2023, 11:42:30 AM
Bitcoin is a very useful thing to many people. It has provided very good opportunities, job opportunity, trading opportunity and lots more for many people to earn money for their essentials of life. Bitcoin halving is fast approaching, giving many people hope of investment, and making reasonable profit at the end. Yet in some countries it is completely illegal. What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin and your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?

The main reason for government not accepting the Bitcoins is the decentralised nature of the coin. Due to this the government cannot control the Bitcoins or neither can impose tax on it. Hence they not making Bitcoins legal. If you are a crypto user, and government is setting up restrictions for you, then you can directly to P2P transactions to buy or sell the coins. You need not have to rely on the exchanges on your country, and no one can know how many Bitcoins you are holding in your wallet.
quite reasonable. The government may close the activities of companies related to crypto so that we cannot access it. I think that it is sites like exchanges and others. However, we can still carry out P2P transactions in various crypto communities on social media. We just need to find a reliable escrow for that. Even though our movement is very limited, I think personally someone can still carry out crypto transactions when the country bans crypto.
However, it may take some effort to make money from crypto through trading, or anything like that, as the government will most likely ban such sites.
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoins Vs legit Altcoins in 2023 on: September 29, 2023, 08:26:40 AM
Before this year 2023, people were launching projects with whitepaper, roadmap and promote those projects with Their team. Memecoins were few but this year, situation is changed. Everybody is busy launching memecoins, no whitepaper, no roadmap. 8 projects are memecoin out of 10 projects.
It seems, this year will be full of memecoins. What do you think? Why memecoin launching is increasing so much in this year?
well, we know that projects that really develop their products, and want to survive for a long time must have all the information investors need to invest in the projects they create. That's why quite a lot of things are needed, such as white papers and other calculations. I think that it is not easy to create a project to attract investors, especially now. However, on the other hand, there are many people who dare to take the risk of choosing meme coins to short. This may make them profit, however, meme coins are not created for a very long period of time, and are also very vulnerable to being a scam. maybe the risk is 2 or 3 times greater than investing in legit altcoins. That's why they choose to utilize meme coins in the short term. Because people tend to take advantage of this, there are more new meme coins appearing nowadays than new legit altcoins.

327  Economy / Economics / Re: What's is daily budgets or expenses as a bitcoiner? on: July 16, 2023, 12:16:06 AM
each person will have their own daily expenses depending on their habits and needs, and I think each class will be different, such as poor, middle class, or rich. Personally, I spend maybe $10 to $13 a day on necessities that I have. however, sometimes I can still use it the next day. Some people I know can spend above that, maybe even over $30 in one day. However, this can change depending on the habits and needs that we have.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will you sell Shib now? Am holding on: July 15, 2023, 08:52:25 AM
I'm not sure if you still have Shiba Inu coins in your hands as we'd never hear any updates but whether you still have them, I suggest not to hold them long-term if you want to earn a profit from crypto. Because as I observed, those projects that have been hyped before have drastically moved down and never risen again. And this is going to happen with Shiba Inu because they are just passing by. Projects that don't have a working product and huge community will never survive the competition.
i think it could always rise again its just that maybe its not be as good as before.
after all too much has been bag holding these coins if someone thinks they are not gonna dump this coin when opportunity arises they they are greatly mistaken. the first thing come in their mind would be to get profit out of their bag holding.
We don't know what the future holds for a coin like the Shiba, but it is a very risky coin to hold for long periods of time. However, if the OP is still holding this coin and still hoping the price will go up, that's understandable. as long as he accepts the risk the price of this coin could fall at any time. If he didn't have that much money in shiba, maybe he could save it and forget about it until there was good or bad news about shiba.
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing doesn't guarantee you to be rich on: July 15, 2023, 06:26:37 AM
Absolutely, gaining knowledge and learning skills of utilizing various strategies is crucial to become a successful investor. Adequate education and through research provide the foundation for developing plans of investments in different vehicles, such as stocks, real estate and crypto currencies, and understand their characteristics, potential returns and associated risks. Without proper knowledge and understanding the risks involved, individuals are likely to make impulsive decisions or fall for scams.

This strategy is important and plays a full role in terms of their success in moving in Cryptocurrency, apart from this strategy we also see skills and knowledge will also move hand in hand in setting the strategy, and to be honest most of those who succeed in staying in crypto fully pay attention to this factor, and because this is also associated with risks for them, and we think this is one of the keys that will lead them to success in the crypto field.
the most important thing in investing is that we know what we are investing. so, this can minimize the risks that we can get in the future. Even though investment does not guarantee that we will become rich, it will open our horizons about new things and experiences. very many people who are successful in this field because they continue to learn. we can't expect 1 investment will make us rich, so try to find potential investment places that can make us have a lot of money.
330  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: July 14, 2023, 09:56:15 AM
Some people may prefer to invest in real estate because they value stability, security, and tangible assets. Others may prefer to invest in cryptocurrency because they value innovation, freedom, and high returns.
choosing a little risk or a big profit depends on how one's situation is. sometimes, someone already has a lot of income, and prefers a small risky investment, so they prefer gold, land, property, and others. I think, it's a good investment. it's just that we have a steady and large source of income and have everything we need. Meanwhile, many people prefer big risks, but with bigger profits, that's because they are still in the business development stage. they are willing to take risks to speed up their financial additions so they can develop their other businesses. This is mostly done by young people, or people who are building their business, whereas small risks are sometimes more often taken by people who already have what they need, or those who are nearing the retirement stage.
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time for bounties and airdrops as we near bull season on: July 14, 2023, 09:10:15 AM

My question here is if airdrops and bounties are still good means of getting good tokens for free that can worth something some day as we wait for the bull. In the past bounties and airdrops used to be profitable and alot of people rushed them. Am not referring to bounties as in signature bounties that we have here. Am talking about websites outside this forum that give minor social media tasks and then pay in tokens.

bounties and airdrops are still a great way to earn tokens, although it's not completely free because we're also working on that, but it's pretty good for people who don't have money to invest. It's just that, we don't know whether the bounty or airdrop that we are participating in actually gives us valuable coins or not, and this is where the risk of bounty hunters and airdrops lies. sometimes they don't get paid or tokens of value. it's just that, this is good enough to be used as a stepping stone to get venture capital. However, many say that during a bull market, there will be lots of good bounties and airdrops because at that time, many projects are trying to launch sales of their products. It's just that, if that really happens, in-depth research is still needed to find quality bounties and airdrops.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bounty really pay? on: July 14, 2023, 06:47:52 AM
Being a bounty hunter is like gambling on your own job where the end result is paid or not depending on unpredictable fate, in fact by following a project that is being ridden by a well known bounty manager by implementing an escrow system, the end result is unpredictable. complaints are paid or not and are paid but the token has no value it has been a problem from the past until now which is very difficult to solve
Well, the safest way to really believe that bounty hunters are paid and it's worth it is to choose a bounty that pays using stable coins and escrow. this will guarantee that payments will still be made when the work is completed. Also, if you want to keep getting paid with tokens, look for bounties that use escrow in their payment system. Next is, if the bounty doesn't have an escrow, then try to choose a trusted manager. this will minimize the risk of not getting paid.
333  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 13, 2023, 09:15:37 AM
Luxury watches are indeed very good as long-term investments, and they can also be used as jewelry. however, personally, I am not much into luxury watches and prefer to invest in gold. So, in that choice, I'm more inclined to go with bitcoin. The reason is, with bitcoin, I can increase the value I have by trading. Even though it seems risky, I think owning expensive items for a long time is also risky. Also, I don't really know the market price of luxury watches, so, I prefer bitcoin.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $20,000 to invest in any Altcoins of your choice? on: July 13, 2023, 06:03:38 AM
for $20k, you can choose ethereum only. it is the best altcoin available today. However, if you don't want to keep all your investments in one basket, then you can split them by BNB, or you can look it up yourself at coinmarketcap in the top 20 coins. to be honest, Choosing bitcoin and ethereum is enough for long term investment, but if you are looking for other altcoins, then choose popular coins that are on coinmarketcap.
335  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading is perfect work for jobless peoples on: July 13, 2023, 04:33:57 AM
I don't know why you associated Jobless to trading and  make trading sound like some shitty thing to do...
Just so you know, you can actually make more money from trading than what a doctor or an engineer can make, so let's not belittle it !!!

And like any other profession ,one requires the knowledge/education to be good at what they venture into and this will need you to invest the time and money to succeed!!
Btw, trading isn't only for jobless people...people wanting to have an extra income do actually trade including doctors, engineers, uber drivers etc and once they find the financial freedom some actually go in as full time traders.
well, maybe it is a matter of time, because when a person does not have a job, he can focus on trading every day. However, that doesn't mean it's suitable for everyone. even when we trade, skills, analysis, information, and more are needed. So, even when he focuses on trading, he may not actually be able to make a profit from it. We know that trading also requires money, and if the person doesn't know about trading and feels it can increase their finances, then that is not necessarily the case. it is possible that trading without any basis can make the finances fall even more.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the altcoin holders hang on until the bull run comes ? on: July 12, 2023, 03:46:21 PM
well, it's no surprise that the Doge came so far down to this point. after all, it is the Hype created by Elon Musk. However, it is very risky to hold the meme coin that is currently hype for a long time.
I've had a similar experience with Sovryn coins. It's just that I held the coin too long. The coin used to have a high price, but because I was too confident, I still held the coin until the price fell like it is today. Well, until now I still hold the coin with the principle, I will hold this coin until the price goes to zero, or when the price goes up again. However, this could be another lesson for the coins we will adopt next.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to keep your money in bank? on: July 12, 2023, 05:06:42 AM
So far I have said yes if we choose a bank that is trusted and under the auspices of government, like in my country there are banks owned by the government.
basically a bank is a place to store fiat before blockchain existed. so in conclusion everyone has a different point of view between saving money in a bank or in crypto all have their own advantages and disadvantages
well, at least the government guarantees the security of the bank. Personally, I am also still keeping the money I have in a national bank. it's because I feel that it is the safest place right now. maybe some people say that investing in gold, land, and others is better. however, for emergency use, we need stash money, and the most appropriate is in a national bank. In addition, there is no guarantee that we save money on the internet is safe. many cases say that their money is also lost because of saving on the internet. well, everything has advantages and disadvantages, but I still trust the bank to keep the money I have.
338  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Making a x10 or x100 by short selling on: July 12, 2023, 02:50:26 AM
No one considered that the most you can profit from a short position is 1x of the amount you used for short selling.

To illustrate, if the trader has $1,000 in his account and wanted to use 10x leverage - $10,000 - to short something priced at $100, then the highest amount the trader could take profit is $10,000 IF the coin crashed to zero. The only reason why there's a potential to profit 10x of the original capital is because of leverage, NOT because there's an exponential return.
The OP said that it might be easier to make 10x shorting. well, I think he really hasn't gotten into trading yet. Even when we get 2x profits when short, it is a very good thing. it's not as easy as the OP said. in fact, it takes persistence for it, it's not even easy to get 2x when going short. In addition, many people who target short, get stuck and end up holding on long term because the price of the coin they are buying has dropped drastically. Imagine making $10k, with $1k in a short amount of time. well, I think if it was that easy, nowadays people tend to prefer trading over investing.
339  Economy / Economics / Re: What could Elon Musk be buying next? on: July 11, 2023, 09:49:47 AM
we don't know what steps Elon Musk will take in the future, but I think he will still pay attention to the technology that is currently developing. But, I think if he fails to grow Twitter and loses out to Threads, I think Elon Musk will move on to something else. But considering that the money spent on Twitter is not small, I think he will really try to develop Twitter so that it is not unable to compete with Threads. Well, but for now, we don't know what else Elon Musk is interested in. I think he needs to focus on Tesla where that is his main strength.
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Circulating supply matters to you? on: July 11, 2023, 06:42:37 AM
I think it really affects. coins with less circulation have a pretty good development. especially if the project is needed, while the circulation is not that big. doing so will drive the quality and price of the coin. Meanwhile, coins with very large circulation sometimes tend not to be so good. this will make the coin have a lower price because the coin is easy to get. besides that, we've seen Terra fall due to having too many circulating supplies.
