You can now post buy orders on the market, for other players to fill.

Both buy orders and sell offers are now auto-filled against each other if there is a direct match of cargo type, quantity and price range.

This means that as you post your wares on the market, you might sell 'em right away, instead of creating a long-standing offer. The inverse is also true, as you post new buy orders, some of them might get resolved immediately.

"Direct match" means orders/offers are never filled partially. If you're selling 10 units, someone else must by buying exactly 10, the system won't match multiples of 2 by 5 or 10 by 1 or whatever.

Planet owners now can sell stuff off warehouse or order stuff delivered, they can also combine those two options to form a "trade route" between own planets.

I really didnt know it, a lot of faucets, including MT faucets with google adsense use to put ads beside buttons, user's mistake in clicking these button are usually profitable for the website.

They are engaging in fraud, plain and simple.

Some small game workflow suggestions for the devs:

-Clicking on any owned ships in the hangar brings up a small window showing cargo contents
Reason: Managing cargo between multiple ships requires one to switch ships in order to see contents.  Becomes time consuming switching ships constantly just to view inventory

-Clicking on your planets in the profile page brings up a status window with more details about modules built on a particular planet
Reason: Currently you actually have to fly to the planet in order to remember what you built

-In planet section of profile page, add the time stamp when the last resource was added
Reason: Can't tell how new a resource is when each message is the same until 'no room in the warehouse'

-Further to planet status in the profile page, viewable inventory contents to see how many resources are in the warehouse
Reason: So you know when it's time to fly out and load up.  

If you guys decide all of the planetary intel shouldn't come free, maybe you could make a status communication module which can built on the planet to tell these things :)

Nice idea on a game and website. Look nice and you have graphics for the ships and mining ore. Why do you not have corperations for players to join and invest their bitcoin into ? Ways for people to invest in the site ? I know that is not easy. Most that do are using a ponzi method. I know that is not what you want of course. If you have a working economy maybe it is possible ? The money players spend on the game is redistributed to investors and the rest is kept as profit for you. It would create much interest in the game.

just tried killing an npc trucker. cant say what it would have gotten me because cons blew me to pieces before i could get my loot. I figured it would get me shot by them as it was in an orange sector but the long waits for loot vs the very short cons response time seems a little off, at least to me. it kind of makes bothering with them anywhere but in the reds a good way to waste time wrecked for nothing.

Yup, another bug fixed. There are probably 2-3 more of it's kind lurking there, so please expect more similar failures in the future, but it should be getting better.

bug - chat latches always default to alliance when refreshing to the next page

Also, the latch should be optional and not forced.  Monitoring the log is more important, having it the default would be better

Lastly, the default log you used to get after a page refresh before was like a hybrid of everything ... all log messages, private chats, squad chats... if you click on the log tab itself it always got rid of those extra things revealing only the local and planetary messages.  Having all that stuff viewable in the timeline at once is pretty useful, if we can still have the defaulted hybrid log as an option.

And you still can get the default/hybrid/full-timeline view, by unselecting currently active tab. For example, if you are on the alliance tab, just click "alliance" again.

100% unintuitive, as always, I've added a "do something about it" item to the TODO list.

Please follow this up if you still think the chat is messed up.

Toecutter, something to think about regarding pcjob's trucker he purchased from me. It was sold through my planet's marketplace since there is no marketplace in the Lesath station. (it cost me friggin 6000 satoshi to tow it from the station in Lesath to my planet in the same system Undecided) Anyway, if he chose to fly up there to get it, he wouldn't have been able to because my landing permissions don't allow visitors.  There's obviously an easy workaround, that I set him up to land on the planet.  But maybe you should default it so that ships purchased from other players go to the closest THX or something like that.

Hmm, interesting. I wouldn't be particularly worried, as one can always request a transfer to his current location. Same-system transfers should be really cheap, BTW, I'm guessing it's your Fleet Overheard kicking in.



Just curious if broken items are actually supposed to be able to be placed for sale on the market?. Obviously people should be watching what they buy of course, but I can really only see this leading to disappointment if anybody is not paying quite enough attention before they buy something......

That's true, but yeah, that's intentional. I'm also not quite sure, but I think there are still some uses for broken items. I'll get back to you on that.



By the way Toecutter, i've been meaning to ask this question but just reminded now.  What's up with the rarity of sapphire crystals in a planet's mineral composition?  Out of the 60-80 some-odd planets I know of, I think I've only ever heard of two planets that produce sapphires (although there may be a few more out there).  Is that intentional to prevent easier/cheaper lapidary?

Also, one of my planets has 'very low' orichalcum... with 1000 miners it takes 13 hours to produce one lousy piece.  It was the same planet I originally had the bug that said it had none, but it actually did.  Am I just super unfortunate that it is so low it's practically non-existent or is something wrong?

More about that, gradation in low, very low etc. it's far from accurate. Sad I have 2 very low ruby planets. First produce 1 ruby per day(1000miners) second 1 per 4days. Similar is with other resources too. Maybe it will be better to gradate mineral richness in points from 0 to 10, or 100?

Not sure about the sapphire situation, I'll ask for a printout.

As for the gradation, you guys are right, not only is it not granular, it's kinda off by a few points too.

Ok, This game is great.  but I bought a trucker and it is in a place called Gorgonia Tertia.  Does anybody have any idea where that is?  When I bought the deal yesterday it was in some corner of "dangerville".  So I make my way out that way, like past Terebellium-E and Kajam, and as I go to check out my "ships" on the profile drop-down, it seems to have moved to this new location: Gorgonia Tertia.  I have no idea how to fetch my trucker and need some help, please.

FYI, "broadcast" or "sector-wide" messages are only delivered to people in the same sector you are. If you want to ask people for help, a better bet would be using "unicast" or "galaxy-wide" messages (you can also select this option by clicking on "Global" tab in the chat).

BTW, people make this mistake all the time, do you guys think we should make Unicast the default option?

As for your actual question, I'm not at liberty to disclose sector locations, but other players will likely help you out with that.

Edit: Check your starmap. You should now be able to see the sector in question.

I have a similar situation of yours my problem is that

I bought a trucker that was parked in Lesath II galaxy.

Now when I go into the market, in the ships tab I see that there's a "Transfer cost"

I am ok with that but beside it there's a timer that is stuck at 162

Among that when I click the "transfer here" button in order to summon the trucker in the place I get error "Terminal malfunction"

What does it mean?

OK, first things first.

1. The correct term for the star system is, well, "star system" or "sector". The galaxy is the whole thing :)
2. The "clock" icon is used to indicate cooldown costs, and the "hourglass" icon is used to indicate the actual current cooldown timer which is counting down. So the timer is not stuck, as it's not even a timer!
3. When you get "terminal malfunction" or "cargo bay malfunction" or "climate error" or a similar non-sensible message, it usually means there's some deeper problem underneath (like things not being properly synchronized server-side). Please just try again, and it should work the second time around. However, if the problem persists, it most certainly is a serious bug, so please report this as soon as possible.

And yeah, looks like you've found one! I'll send you a PM regarding this momentarily.

(Terribly sorry for the 1-2-3 points, not meant to poke at you; it's just that as other players read those posts, it's important to establish correct terminology to minimize the potential confusion).

Ehi guys, we need a trade forum here, I wish make an announcement!

We do really need an in-game notice board!

We had plans for "Diplomacy and Warfare" (war declarations, disscusions and alliance forging), "Economy and Trade" (basically ads for your in-game services) and "Squad Recruitment" boards. But given the very low number of players we have, it's not really worth it; it's easier to read all the posts on a single board for now.

If we ever reach higher player turnout, we'll probably reconsider.

Anyways, I don't mind, and bitcointalk moderators probably don't mind either (feel free to correct me), so feel free to post your announcements here; but keep in mind that the in-game forum is still probably better suited for this.

ok, I broke something else Smiley

When i landed on a planet all of the mining and refining etc. tabs show up at once underneath each other. also, i can no longer click on the equipment in the ship screen to see the item info. and i also cant use the the chat function, i cant click on the text space and all the buttons are greyed out. I also cant get off the planet now......

I tried reloading the page a couple times and no change, i also tried logging out and back in without any success....... I'm kinda stuck like that now.

(edit) when i click on the undock arrow it changes colour as if selected but doesnt do anything. if i click on info,modules etc. tabs itscycleslikeits gonna load anew page but goes right back to where i started.

There are misunderstands with which stuff can be used for crafting/building.
When i bought used MLK-I mining laser i can't manufacture MLK-Iz from it (not enough mining lasers Smiley).

Hi, so that is a great idea about halved equipment cooldowns on weekends.  Is the energy recharge speed also doubled to suit?

No... I mean yes. Sorry for the false-start earlier today, looks like it wasn't as smooth as planned.



Just wanted to mention that reactors for a few of us at least and possibly everybody seem to be loosing durability at a very rapid rate that would see them broken within a week or two by what we have been guessing though i haven't done the exact math.  At this rate we will all likely be in a spot of trouble or need to stop playing to avoid it before the end of the weekend if not before.....

For people not following the in-game chat, please don't worry too much about your durability rates. We had some more bugs to work out, and it should be fine now.

But if it all comes down crashing and burning, we'll restore everyone's equipment.

The "Failing" (and similar marks) are just a textual representation of the durability state.
I believe it goes gradually from "[no mark]" to "new" to "mint" to "used" to "failing" to "broken", depending on the value.

No, no, they look pretty bad! It should be around 6 months now instead of 48 years.

But, I don't know maybe is something wrong, but i'm loosing durability points very fast and it started beck then when I get first Enforcer. So at the end I decide just not to repair ships, reactors and engines.

Yeah, I remember that. I also remember it had something to do with Slicing Lasers (or maybe not). To be honest, we haven't looked into it, but I'll make sure we do now, as lots of durability-related bugs have been exposed after today's update.

And back again, i'm not sure that my durability works correct. I need to be killed maybe 3 or 4 times and my ship durability drops down to 0/100.
And similar with equipment....

Hmm, it should never go directly to zero, should be a more gradual thing, that's for sure. Same bug, it seems.

It works nice with used equipment now, if you shoot with damaged beam, you get only 1 damage point, or mine 1 ore. I think that's is how it's supposed to be, and I think is right. But how it works on engines? Or reactors? Maybe it will be much better if damaged item just has longer cooldown time? For example: new engine - 10 min., at 50% - 15min, 10% - 20min.? Same with reactors, just produce lower amount of energy per minute...

By the way -- used equipment SHOULD NOT be useless from the get go, that's a bug.

Here's how it's supposed to work. A piece of equipment with 2/2 durability should be just as useful as one with 50/50 or 100/100 -- as all those values give you 100%. But a 1/2 item (or 50/100) gives you a 50% chance of failure (or "fizzle"). When an item fizzles, it reduces the output to the lowest possible value of it's kind. So, yeah, mining lasers, energy beams, etc only deal 1 point of damage, engines simply fail the jump, and reactors... I'm not sure what happens to those, probably nothing (yet another bug).

This is not something new, by the way, we assumed this worked correctly all this time. Apparently not.

Your idea of increased cooldowns is rather good, we'll probably adjust it to be like that in the future. But let's iron out all the bugs first.

Given that the breakage only happens on use, and average cooldown for item use is 5 minutes, we get

If your head is not spinning yet, 25250000 minutes is 420833 hours or 17534 days  or 48 years.

Not a bad investment for a piece of equipment!

The guy responsible for this was scolded harshly.

We're bringing this in line with what was actually expected...



And we're going to experiment with "speed zoom", by making everything work faster x2 times.

This is going to be active from each Friday evening to Monday morning (UTC).

The yields for everything are NOT halved during this time, so it's essentially double earnings.

It should. It's been like that since forever. If it doesn't there's a bug...

after update very hard get profit from CPUs Smiley was crafted 8 CPUs and after selling them lose 2k, but almost return money back when continue crafting

Yeah, that's the general idea. If it doesn't help, we'll have to implement the crafting cooldown timer, but that would piss so many people off, we're holding this option off as a last ditch resort...



Re: all the hate mail. I get it, guys, nerfs are a pain. But watching our wallet balance going further and further down is not exciting either.

Are you saying there is something wrong with NPC pricing (in general), or are you saying that the CPUs crafted before the update became worthless after it? Or something else?



Super evil (and long-standing!) bug was fixed just now. NPC were not taking durability into account when you were selling damaged equipment to them. Was pretty hard to notice when the gear stayed in 98/99 (and the like) range, but with 2/2 gear it became painfully obvious.
