321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the next 1000%'er? Are the times of getting rich with an alt over? on: February 08, 2017, 01:20:34 AM
Ask yourselves.. what happens when you stay at the table gambling at a crooked casino permanently ?

I've basically stopped caring about altcoins.
I may still buy some Monero and Factom, but the whole market, every exchange is nothing but pure manipulation.
Unless you have a lot of money and belong to one of the groups making the moves, you are basically trying to play catch-up with the manipulators.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the symbol for Altcoins? on: February 08, 2017, 12:18:19 AM
Certain coins have a custom designed logo, but I don't think there is any universal symbol for alt-coins,
if that is what you are asking.
I usually just say "cryptocoin" so maybe there should be a symbol for that, something that either includes Bitcoin or means everything BUT Bitcoin.
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XEM - NEM - price speculation next 2 months on: February 07, 2017, 10:51:40 PM
I really keep hoping that price will skyrocket but I dont see it happening anytime soon.
Project is interesting but seems to have an issue gaining traction.
Lots of people keep saying that it will get lots of users in Asia region so maybe there is hope for long-term investment.
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 05, 2017, 02:36:40 PM
Monero still seems like a decent buy for long-term hold.
I don't think you're going to get rich overnight, but if you hold for a few years it could easily double or triple in price.
325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: February 01, 2017, 12:00:35 AM
Except most people who are using Western Union are doing so because they need CASH.
Its nice to get Bitcoin in your wallet, but until you can pay your electricity bill with it, there will still need to be ways to transfer cash.
If there was an ATM you could cash your BTC in and get paper fiat currency it would serve the same purpose, but right now you are talking about two totally different things.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Definitive PROOF that Satoshi Nakamoto is about to be exposed because ... on: January 31, 2017, 02:00:09 AM
Sounds like more "we found Satoshi" drama that will probably lead nowhere.
Probably just trying to draw more traffic to their website. I'll be pleasantly surprised if they have any facts that we haven't heard before.
327  Economy / Speculation / Re: The only way to get rich is by riding the next big alt pump on: January 30, 2017, 05:20:41 PM
The days of becoming an instant millionaire are pretty much over.
The people that are making lots of money on crypto right now are the ones that already have it.
Whales are manipulating the price of coins and raking in the profits as the little fish try to make a few dollars.
328  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have about 50$ where to invest ? on: January 28, 2017, 09:13:03 AM
Buy BURST.
Preferably a few days ago before it went up. (Sorry I didn't make this post sooner)
But the price will still increase in the long term IMO.
Its a great project with active development and you can still get coins cheap. Currently 76 satoshi on Poloniex.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bad News For POT And Other Cannabis Cryptos Incoming on: January 26, 2017, 11:52:22 PM
Do any of these coins offer any advantages over Bitcoin when it comes to paying for cannabis?
Or are they simply trying to brand themselves as a weed coin and hoping that draws users?
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 26, 2017, 11:24:09 PM
Coinbase will likely add Monero in the coming months.
Now might be a good time to buy. Everyone is paying attention to other coins like the Pascal coin pump going on right now.
Grab some Monero while no one is looking!
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Pascal Coin is going to be a major breakthrough on: January 26, 2017, 04:34:39 AM
Top volume on Poloniex. Very impressive for a first day!
Someone is making a ton of money off this pump.

If anyone has reviewed the code, please let me know what you think.
Is this project well-developed professional coding, or some junk thrown together to make a quick buck?
Would love to hear some more info about this coin.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Crytopcurrency For Privacy on: January 25, 2017, 12:06:18 AM
Monero is the best for privacy.

Every discussion I've seen from people who are really serious into cryptography say that Monero currently has the best privacy features.
There are several "privacy-based" coins that actually have huge flaws in their design or implementation.
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: January 25, 2017, 12:03:18 AM
Thanks for the update crowetic.
I really like this project. We need people thinking about topics like low-energy mining if we want to advance crypto.
There are so many topics to be explored in this field. Bitcoin is only the beginning of what is possible.
334  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cashing out.... on: January 24, 2017, 11:59:45 PM
Depends on how many coins you are talking about.
If you have a couple Bitcoin you might as well hold since even if it drops you are only losing a couple hundred dollars/ euros at most.
If you have hundreds or thousands of BTC you may want to sell 25-50% if you think a big drop is coming, or move some into Altcoins.
335  Economy / Economics / Re: Long term OIL on: January 24, 2017, 11:32:50 AM
Its actually surprising all the developments that China has made recently in the advancements of 'green' energy.
The US and other counties may actually fall behind, with China becoming the leader in renewable energy from solar and wind.

Especially with Donald Trumps appointments, namely Rex Tillerson (former Exxon Mobil CEO) as Secretary of State,
you can bet the current administration will do everything in its power to pass rules and regulations to help big oil companies have free reign.
Not sure what this means for the price of oil in the long-term, but you can bet the US based companies will be looking for any way to increase profits.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: January 23, 2017, 05:55:19 PM
10% plus rise in price today on Poloniex.
Is there some news/ announcement, or is this just because deposits/ withdraws are re-enabled and investor confidence in M2 is returning?

Im wondering if it will be possible to sell and re-buy when the price comes down a few percent to pick up a couple extra FCT.
337  Economy / Speculation / Re: TRUMP - DOLLAR on: January 23, 2017, 11:33:40 AM
I think the main thing to watch will be US dollar in relation to Chinese Yuan Renminbi, and any trade policies announce by Donald Trump in relation to China and Mexico.
US stock markets closed up on Friday and have been doing well the last few months, but there are probably some BIG changes coming in policy.
Energy and manufacturing companies are expecting relaxed environmental regulations under the new administration, and Trump has promised to tax companies who make products outside the US.

Not sure what all this means for the price of the dollar because I'm no financial expert, but things are definitely going to change.
Hopefully the new staff can continue the slight recovery the economy has made over the last nine years from the 2008 financial crash.

How much the US economy and the price of the dollar influences the price of Bitcoin is definitely an interesting discussion.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When does a coin become officially dead? on: January 23, 2017, 11:26:50 AM

Technically True coin Death occurs when the Chain Freezes and coin transfer is no longer possible.
99% of the users have given up on it way before that point is reached.

I would add that unless the coin is active on at least one exchange with some amount of volume, its clearly heading for demise.
You also need at least one developer doing work, pushing updates on Github etc. Even if updates only happen a couple times a year, you need some sign that someone is still looking at the code and trying to make improvement.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: January 23, 2017, 11:23:15 AM
Yes please post any links/ news if you have them.
I've been accumulating BURST when I can, buying on exchange and have a small mining setup running.
It is a well-developed project for a coin with such a low price. Definitely worth investing a few dollars IMHO.
340  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dead cat bounce, dreams shattered again. on: January 22, 2017, 12:59:39 PM
I doubt we will drop that low, but I could definitely see us going back to the $750-800 range in the next week or two.
I think a lot of people expected us to reach a new ATH when we hit the $1100 range and will panic sell every time they see the price drop a few percent.

The next few weeks are going to be interesting. I'm waiting to see what policies Donald Trump will propose regarding trade regulations with China.
This could cause the value of Chinese currency to change. We saw what happened to Bitcoin last time RMB changed a few percent in a day.
