Interesting, this should be mentioned in the OP imo, as there are entire coins out there (Vert) based entirely on being scrypt-ASIC resistant, and here we have a coin where scrypt-ASIC resistance (or should I say immunity) is just one of it's amazing features.
Sorry, but this doesn't need to be mentioned in the OP. Sorry, but only a retard would think scrypt asics would be useful for folding. LOL. Telling people scrypt asic resistance is a feature of this coin is like a car salesman telling people their new SUV is asic resistant. It's useless redundant information and just makes the speaker as dumb as the person who would need to ask such a dumbass question. ASIC resistance is a feature. How much that matters now is debatable, probably not much at all. But the proof-of-work for Curecoin is (mostly) folding and folding has no ASICS being developed for it yet as it's one of a kind, making Curecoin ASIC resistant (apart from the 20% that goes to the SHA256 miners). And as bardacuda pointed out, if ASICS were developed for folding, that would be great for the advancement of science anyway. If you'd like to calmly explain how this is not true please explain, otherwise I ask you to refrain from insulting me.

Just a small heads up. I would not insta-sell your coins haha. you think they are hard to get now? just give it 6 months to a year. with asic scrypt on the way to the other coins. most gpus will turn to this. making curecoin even more scarce. and if you sell for cheaper than 1cc=.1btc i would be willing to guarantee you will be disappointed in time to come. But hey I have only been minning coins since btc first came out. what to I know about coins FifthGhostbuster P.S. this is not me manipulating price in anyway shape or form. just giving people a heads up before they insta-sell for a quick $100 and be angry later they missed out on more. That's an interesting point, so scrypt asics wont work for folding? That's GPU only for 'ever'? Scrypt ASICs will never work for Folding. I don't know how folding works exactly, so I'm not sure it's possible to create an ASIC for folding. It might be though, it sounds like the work is repetitive, but I'm neither a folding developer or ASIC developer so I can't say anything about folding ASICs. Interesting, this should be mentioned in the OP imo, as there are entire coins out there (Vert) based entirely on being scrypt-ASIC resistant, and here we have a coin where scrypt-ASIC resistance (or should I say immunity) is just one of it's amazing features.

Not sure if this has been posted here but I found at the curecoin.us forum this amazing link from member bitshirehashaway: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s=&srt=4"We are currently the number 1 team in the world based on current point generation - beating the second place team by slight more than 50%. Keep up the great work guys and let's try and become the number one team based on total points!" - bitshirehashaway This is a staggering achievement and is worthy of press attention imho.

I think this is a good idea worth perusing. As others have pointed out, an escrow service would be needed and could be done use multisig transactions, as well as the address needing to be sent privately to the seller so it's not there for everyone to see.
Setting up an escrow business that carries out this service for products advertised on TV could be a great opportunity, as well as being brilliant promotion for bitcoin.

For those worrying about exchanges, give it a bit of time, Curecoin only launched 2 days ago. In a week we will probably have a bunch of other exchanges to trade on.

Is there a Mac wallet on the way?

Owning a little bit of bitcoin is a great way for students to learn about economics as well, not just technology. Economics schools would do their students a fine service to offer them a small bitcoin investment.

Looking forward to this! It's been a long time coming. Curecoin could be one of the best altcoins.

I was one of the investors who bought (a small amount) of MSC in the aim of getting a better rate for the MSAFE. I missed the deadline by 1 minute, but David Johnston of bitangels allowed me to send the MSC I bought to him and traded the MSAFE with me at the crowdsale rate.
I also bought in with BTC during the IPO while waiting for this trade to go down to make sure I didn't miss it. I predicted that the value of MSAFE had effectively been devalued to below the IPO rate before the IPO was even over due to the BTC investors essentially bailing out huge MSC bag holders, who would then presumably sell off their MSAFE into BTC as a way of cashing out of MSC. I realised this and placed a low order for MSAFE on the exchange too, but bought in anyway at the IPO rate despite being aware of this, just because it's such an awesome project I didn't want to risk missing the opportunity. It ticks all the boxes, ideologically, technically as well as being a potentially brilliant investment.
Clearly the IPO went a bit wrong but I'm pleased with my purchase and think Maidsafe is potentially awesome and I'm glad to be part of it and look forward to becoming a 'farmer' myself.
The price doesn't matter currently as the Maidsafe test net hasn't even launched yet.

This is great! Does the amount pledged decide the 'weight' of the vote? Otherwise people could make many tiny donations to get more votes and game the system.

We should raise money to do this for other Universities too!
