3241  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: April 19, 2014, 03:58:14 PM
I have some small problems with the Armory client and since i'm not sure if it's 0.91 related or not (i think it's not related to this beta version). My Bitcoin Core client is running as a full node and i wanted to stop it and run it only with 8 active connections.

Running a separate Bitcoin Core client:
- When using the "listen=0" option in the bitcoin.conf file Armory doesn't connect to the Bitcoin Core client;
- When using "-Maxconnections=8" command line option Armory keeps disconnecting and connecting nonstop to the Bitcoin Core Client.

Running Bitcoin Core client in the background by Armory:
- When using the "listen=0" option in the bitcoin.conf file Armory is stuck at Synchronizing with Network

I know that this isn't a big priority thing, but is there any other option that i can use? Or is there something that you can change in the Armory code so that i can have the Bitcoin Core not run as a full node?

Thanks!

I am still waiting on my refund requested on 4th April.
Liam told me: Refunds are usually processed within 10-15 working days but can take longer during busy periods.

I was told 10 business days, but i just can't understand how busy can they be...

i send pm
hope is not scheme like kncminer

It won't. Just compare their support on the forum and their help regarding various fw requested features.
3245  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Setting Up a Bitcoin Node on: April 19, 2014, 01:03:42 PM
Thank you both!

Edit:
Ok found some problems. With the listen=0 option Armory doesn't see the Bitcoin Core client running at all. With the -Maxconnections=n i get 8 connections in Bitcoin Core client but Armory keeps connecting and disconnecting nonstop. I also tried with the listen=0 and let Armory run the Bitcoin Core client in the background but it's just stuck at synchronizing with Network.

Will take these to the Armory thread.

So, where are the 5000 boards?

Question is when will shareholders gain what they invested almost one year ago...

We need to step up income by at least 20 times to have any chance of getting ROI.

I tried to warn you people for a long time, but everyone kept supporting ken. I don't think it will last much. He has no chip project going and he is using 3rd party chips/hardware while this wasn't the initial plan.

Roadstress... there is your clock you can edit there and post yours in the OP.

Thank you very much. Added to the OP now.

Does a bitmain USB miner count as a 10% reduction?

Yes.

i want know if will have ROI in this product? anyone can tell me

I may be biased by organizing this Group Buy, but i really believe that the units will ROI even their ~10BTCs, as for their $ value i am 100% sure that they will.

When I send my .1 btc per unit, will I be told what position in the queue I'm in??

I can tell you that of course. Right now you will be the 198th. You should hurry in order to secure the earliest shipping time! Payment will be required after we gather 250 units so just go ahead.

Wait until the group buy deadline and then i will have an offer for you. I don't want to mix things up.

You mean after the deadline? I'm still considering participating, though I am uncomfortable with the manufacturer's unwillingness to credibly stand behind their promises. We'll see though. Not sure what I will do.

Yes because people might see it as trying to push more units though. I just like to put my money where my word is. Sometimes that can be used as a bad thing too. See HashFail and their BTC refunds. I say just pull the trigger and you will be a happy panda in August.

Hi everyone,

i'm still waiting for my sp10 to be delivered (still in israel atm Cry) and i was wondering if there is an option to schedule the power consumption ?
in france we have full hour (0.14€/kwh) and empty hour (0.10€/kwh). I would like to schedule full power during 8 hour and "quiet" during 16 hour.
Already implemented ? add it to the todolist ?

Feel free to contact zvi@spondoolies-tech.com about this.
3251  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Special Group Buy - Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order] ***EASTER WEEK SALE*** on: April 19, 2014, 01:33:44 AM
I am really diggin' this deal, but my problem is they offer no possible legal recourse, any guarantees of any kind, and quite frankly pre-ordering under those conditions has got to stop.  I am definitely interested in ordering this miner, no doubt, and maybe multiple, but the bottom line is this:

"3.Delivery; Shipment. Delivery dates communicated or acknowledged by Spondoolies in the Order Confirmation are approximate only, and are dependent upon supply chain interruptions and stoppages, development delays, and other factors. Therefore, Purchaser shall not rely upon, and Spondoolies shall not be liable under whatsoever circumstances for any other estimation statement of expectation when delivery will occur."

What do I have to know that they will make it right if we are royally screwed on the delivery date?  No Plan B?  Any comment on this and I am certainly in for at least 1...

Until now even this "legal recourse" that you are talking about didn't make BFL go out of business. They are still taking pre-order money for the Monarch which was supposed to release in November/December. Nothing happened with Labcoin and Terrahash(as far as i know), nothing happened with Cointerra and their under spec miner. Maybe HashFast will face some problems, but it seems that for the moment they are doing just fine by selling customer chips to 3rd party suppliers. Going the legal way is very time and money consuming and considering that Bitcoin is something that the legal system wasn't prepared for you might face a lot of problems by going this route too. I would agree with the legal recourse if BFL was out of business and Sonny and Inaba were behind bars, but while in theory this might sound ok, in reality things are a bit different.

I would like to offer you a deal, but i want to make it only for you and it won't happen again and i don't want to have any influence for the rest of the group buy. I can offer to support your losses by fully repaying you in case of non-delivery in August. It's not much and it's only my word. I would get the scammer tag if i don't pay you and my reputation here will be over. You will need to agree it first and then after I post "I agree" it will be binding for me. I reserve the right to not agree it if there will be a lot of people that will complain that i'm trying to gather more units and if i feel that it's the wrong thing to do it, although until now this Group Buy is doing just fine.

...
RoadStress and Spondoolies-Tech, please post your thoughts.

I can't post any thoughts regarding that because only Spondoolies Tech cand make that decision, but man you really want some SP10s right?

News:
I have updated the OP with the number of units that we got plus i have raised the maximum number of reservations to 1100 in case there are some customers that won't pay. The number of the units for August will still be 1000. If there is a way to add a countdown timer just let me know.
3252  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 19, 2014, 01:09:18 AM
The commitment is only words. Saying "you can get a refund if it doesn't ship on time and on spec" IS only words if we judge by  what happened with all US fail companies. HashFail promised full BTC refunds and now they told DyslexicZombei that he didn't even purchased units from them when he sued them.

If they are going to reneg on the commitment (which I doubt), then it costs them even less. There is no legitimate reason not to make the commitment unless: 1) they aren't as sure the miners will ship on time and on spec as they claim to be, and 2) they believe they would stand behind the commitment if they made it. Draw your own conclusions.

Wait until the group buy deadline and then i will have an offer for you. I don't want to mix things up.

With relatively small team, I'm sure Spondoolies is looking for a future growth. The only way is to stay way above competitors and make a leap. SP30 is the answer.

I don't see you in the Group Buy yet Smiley

Everything you said about shady and unreliable vendors in the bitcoin mining space is likely true, but that doesn't change the fact that repeatedly making promises without putting anything of substance behind them is cheap talk, and is very different from making a binding and substantial commitment to the customer.

But they did put something of substance behind them. They shipped some SP10 faster than advertised by a couple of days. How can they prove themselves regarding the SP30 if they will receive chips early in July?

"Something of substance" meaning a commitment that binds them to the outcome. Talk is cheap. If they say "it will ship on time and on spec," that's one thing. If they say, "you can get a refund if it doesn't ship on time and on spec," I'm more included to believe it will ship on time and on spec. I don't really want the refund, I just want to know they are willing to put their money where their mouth is on the promised ship date and specs.

The commitment is only words. Saying "you can get a refund if it doesn't ship on time and on spec" IS only words if we judge by  what happened with all US fail companies. HashFail promised full BTC refunds and now they told DyslexicZombei that he didn't even purchased units from them when he sued them.

So much BS in one post.

If I am espousing BS as you claim, then please be transparent and provide timelines, gantt charts and contingency plans to prove you are not planning August as the "we've done this before and everything will go right as rain, trust me path".

You claim to be transparent, please start being more transparent.

They did published gen1 full specs i think and some documents regarding their gen2 too. The whole forum knows that you are in love with Inaba. Go troll some place else.
3254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 19, 2014, 12:32:46 AM
Spondoolies Tech dude?! Please. Vaporware. Who are they? What's their track record? Look at the product design: no way you can cool their claimed hashing power in rack server form factors like that. Calling bullshit right now. Run.

Have you checked their thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521520.0 ? dogie (who posted a big review of it), ckolivas and me and some other customers already received their SP10 unit and yes it is possible to cool it because they are just that good and because it's loud (this will be fixed in the future)Smiley

I stand corrected. Seems pretty legit. ckolivas is credible. One to watch I guess. Terrible business name though Smiley

Not that bad business name: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spondoolies (i just figured out that i was using the double "o" wrong heh)

any chance they ship sooner and I am in...will need spoondoolie to confirm that though...
Sooner than  1st August i don't think so, unless you were/are among the early birds and they start shipping one week sooner at a 50+ units per day rate.(they already can do ~40 units per day)

3255  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Special Group Buy - Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order] ***EASTER WEEK SALE*** on: April 18, 2014, 10:45:51 PM
i'd like to pull the trigger on this too....but August doesn't sit well...and with 4TH now and with 6TH plus on the way from KNC supposedly end of next week, and S1's readily available (w/ undervolt as future option) Spoondoolies is looking not so tempting.

May/June Delivery times maybe i pull the rapid fire trigger.

Outta ammo for August!

They will have chips in early July, so June delivery is simply impossible. I'm waiting for refunds from KnC. I chosed 5.4TH at 2500W instead of 3TH or 3.3TH at 2100W. I hope you got your home wired ok since you will need around 8000W for those 6TH if you are talking about FrankenJupiters.

Regarding the S1 i stated my view(it can be applied to SP30 too):
If you are ok buying S1s then please go ahead. For me at least i find it very hard to have 1.4 TH in S1s (more cables, a lot of power supplies, no case hardware, much more space etc) while having one SP10 is much easier. Maybe for you those aren't such big problems, for me they are and that's why i would choose SP10 instead of many S1s.
3256  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 18, 2014, 10:31:29 PM
If they would offer a refund policy and in July BTC goes to 100$ then everyone will refund and if the money are spent on components they won't be able to refund everyone. Every company is saying that they don't guarantee customers ROI.

The refund policy to which I refer is only if they don't deliver on spec and on schedule. People would not have the option of a refund just because bitcoin price goes down.

They are quoting best case power estimates and guess what, if they don't come in on spec, the power supplies chosen won't be able to handle extra capacity so they'll have to completely redesign the PCB and the box will end up running slowing at the same wattage.

No. They are quoting August as a "flip a dime three times and it lands on it EDGE everytime" timeline. I've asked them to post their timeline and contingency plan in this thread and they have decided its not worth it to be "transparent".

You mistake them with BFL i think. May i ask you what contingency plan had BFL regarding their first gen ASICs? You did receive the first Mini Rig and you must know them better. What about their contingency plan regarding the so waited/failed Monarchs? I never saw you ask such questions to BFL or to any other manufacturer. Biased much?
3257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 18, 2014, 10:25:05 PM
Yeah, that group buy is looking pretty attractive if they will indeed stack the 10% discount for refunding an order with a competitor.

The offer isn't for refunding only. The offer is for just having a previous order with any Bitcoin ASIC manufacturer! Only proof of purchase is required.

Correct, you need to email-in only a proof of order from any Bitcoin ASIC maker.

They look decent but I'm sick of preorders.

Give it one last change either for SP10 either for SP30.(they did ship 2 batches of SP10 a bit earlier than expected) We are closing to the 250 units and i'm sure that you will benefit from the 10% reduction which makes it just 4500$ for a SP30.
3258  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: April 18, 2014, 10:20:21 PM
I watched this thread from the start and i was waiting for their 0.35W/GH which failed miserably. For those that still have money or who can get a refund have a look here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=575499.0

Do you really think people who has pre-ordered and are still waiting for a 2months+ late delivery would pre-order something else?

And delivery august?? That's just insane!
Difficulty can then be 1000% more than now and then the 5.4TH/s unit is as much worth as a miner than it is as a doorstopper.
That's just too far in the future
What if they do a Bitmine and deliver 70+ days late?

I do think that people who were burned deserve a better treatment. I covered this aspects in the second post of that thread.

Difficulty won't be 1000% then. Do some calculations and you will find out that that's simply unreal and unsustainable at this exchange rate.

They won't do a Bitmine. They already had some pre-orders for their SP10 miners and they shipped a few days earlier than announced. Don't compare Bitmine who was funded only from customers money with a company that is funded by top 2 Israel VCs firms. (again i covered this aspect in the second post of that thread)
3259  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Special Group Buy - Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order] ***EASTER WEEK SALE*** on: April 18, 2014, 10:07:28 PM
preorders are a tough sell now.

I rather order a sp10 from them and get it in around 1-2 weeks.

August ship dates are a tough sell.  So many long time for delivery deals have busted out.

KnC had no problems selling 2 or 3 batches (not sure if CA batch counts as a regular batch or not)  with delivery over 5 months and little updates and nobody complained/thought about difficulty back then. Even now they are offering 3TH for 6k$ and still no clear date except "one month after Batch 2" which would translate to August/September delivery for a much worse $/GH ratio.

yeah but they basically were coming off a grand-slam in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the world series.

By that I mean the Oct-Nov delivery of the Jupiter .  BTC was over 1 k and people such as myself had made good money on their gear.

Now coins are 500 or less.  Asics are a dime a dozen.  Lets be real I can order s-1s today and they will be at my house on Monday.

0.877 a unit  so 10 cost 8.77 btc that is about 4253.45 usd.   I mine 2th in under 4 or 5 days.    add in 700 for power supplies.

so 5k gets me 2th hashing on tues .   this is why you are getting resistance to this sale.

Many of us also see they know how to build the 1.4th sp10 it is a great unit push that on us.

NOW  to be honest my great hope is they are truly mad genius's and all this thread was to  ploy create a group buy for the sp10.  For may delivery at good prices.

So let me get this straight. When the BTC rate is high it's ok to spend the money on pre-orders without thinking and now that BTC rate is down we need to fully stop pre-ordering and just buy in stock items at 3x prices? Personally i don't agree, but if you are ok buying S1s then please go ahead.
3260  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Special Group Buy - Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order] ***EASTER WEEK SALE*** on: April 18, 2014, 09:55:40 PM
the attack is not directed at group buys in general... only pre-ordering.

I don't have time to visit all pre-ordering threads... I happen to be here cause of the spoonname... which I am considering purchasing if we can negotiate a fair price.

My point is the groundhog day action of pre-ordering...  companies need to make the hardware and sell it.. or only sell daily what they can make in a day.. not vaporware that has not been shown to work yet.

I think you didn't understand me. There are 2 group buys for Neptune right below this one (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=347845.0 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=347732.0) and you weren't complaining there, but you complained here. If you want to be fair you should complain in all pre-order group buys, not only on the ones that you choose because if you do it only on the ones that you choose it means that you either have something against the company or against the organizer and since you have nothing against me the only conclusion is that you have something against the company which makes you biased.

BUT...

spoondooles did NOT start out with pre-orders.. they came here and surprised with in stock miners... then started doing pre-orders afterwards...

so if spoon can come here with in stock miners once.... whey cant they keep that model..

I'm still waiting for an explanation why didn't you complained about pre-orders in the 2 mentioned threads. KnC always had pre-orders too.
Spoondolies always did pre-orders. But until now they had just a small delay of a couple of weeks from the moment of order and until the moment of shipping. Until now they never shipped from stock.

Sorry to ask but to get it clear : How does the queue position works? The queue position is based when the 0.1 btc per machine was sent?

Yes. The queue position is based when the 0.1 btc per machine is sent.

I was thinking of going for a mini Titan but I dont want to reward KNC for screweing its customers so bad

Don't forget that when you get your titan, KNC will be mining with 10 titans (per titan sold). You would be lucky to break even with a scrypt asic (or any asic miner)

That's something that Spoondolies won't do, but i don't want to start another debate of i say no, you say yes and so on until we get to a dead end.
