Spondoolies Tech dude?! Please. Vaporware. Who are they? What's their track record? Look at the product design: no way you can cool their claimed hashing power in rack server form factors like that. Calling bullshit right now. Run.

Have you checked their thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521520.0 ? dogie (who posted a big review of it), ckolivas and me and some other customers already received their SP10 unit and yes it is possible to cool it because they are just that good and because it's loud (this will be fixed in the future)Smiley

Yeah, that group buy is looking pretty attractive if they will indeed stack the 10% discount for refunding an order with a competitor.

The offer isn't for refunding only. The offer is for just having a previous order with any Bitcoin ASIC manufacturer! Only proof of purchase is required.

Correct, you need to email-in only a proof of order from any Bitcoin ASIC maker.

They look decent but I'm sick of preorders.

Give it one last change either for SP10 either for SP30.(they did ship 2 batches of SP10 a bit earlier than expected) We are closing to the 250 units and i'm sure that you will benefit from the 10% reduction which makes it just 4500$ for a SP30.

I stand corrected. Seems pretty legit. ckolivas is credible. One to watch I guess. Terrible business name though Smiley

Not that bad business name: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spondoolies (i just figured out that i was using the double "o" wrong heh)

Sooner than  1st August i don't think so, unless you were/are among the early birds and they start shipping one week sooner at a 50+ units per day rate.(they already can do ~40 units per day)

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

less than 5K for 5,4 TH beats knc´s 10/12k for 3TH (maybe 4 if you are lucky) big time.

Granted, 2 months later shipping but spondoolies has better power efficiency and a smaller rig, aswell as competetive hosting prices for longterm hosting.

Edit:

And the 3th frankenjupiter is just a joke. You can get 3 * 1th rig with bitmine chips delivered the next week for 3*2,5k = 7,5k

That is shipping cost included.

Plus: 1W/GH power efficiency on these vs. ~1,2W/GH on Frankenjupiter

Plus: Already assembled and with 80+ gold psu.

Don´t get me wrong, i liked the jupiter, it was good tech when it came out, but seeing as KNC is just looking to reap money from their customers for now overpriced gear just sadens me.

yeah i agree..but even so .the current price of the products on here...are not quite good enough imho (they will likely change) but imho
chasing the GH 'Bear' this summer ....little old me ...would get 'crushed' so not baiting the bear this summer will watch others do so
(I'm talking 5k to 10k usd major money down  choices......not just picking up small end stuff....the big stuff ..ie sitting on fence)

i take the above back even the small stuff is tempting to play with but also unworkable...and would make my tummy hurt after purchase.

need zerocoin the anonymous coin (yeah i know but it is a pretty good 'hook' for a coin launch) i need that to come out as sha-256 (yeah right odds are better
for me to win the lottery) but still sha-256 decent growth coin at 0 difficulty  0 pre-mine and launch your 'old' asic stuff off the pad at say midnight  some day in july 2014

ie 'OLD ASIC RISE AGAIN!!!" ...sure in Zombie mode...with an untried new coin..but hey the other option is a KNC Jupiter Doorstop .....

it would be an epic launch of a coin....all them usb/bfl/avalon retired rigs would live again! (at least for a bit)

sigh...nice dream to keep my Jupiter going thru the summer mining...but unlikely as hell

I am still waiting on my refund requested on 4th April.
Liam told me: Refunds are usually processed within 10-15 working days but can take longer during busy periods.

Requested mine on the 10th, was told that they do bank wires once a week, I also requested refund in BTC but was told NO. I do bank wires daily for my business and it's a very simple process, perhaps 5 min per wire doing it online if you have the proper bank account/setup.

We need a new thread "Those waiting for a wire refund from KnC". Might cut off half the posts here or so.

Uuuuhhh....
Reality check.....   http://com-http.us/
***What you speak of was done early on with Asic-Coin, http://com-http.us/coins/asc/ and SHAcoin http://com-http.us/coins/sha/
393 altcoins and counting...  41 of them are sha-256. Another one will make 0 difference imho
UNLESS there is a hashrate limit, and nobody is going to do that... greed.
I doubt the launch of yet another will do squat.
I admire your faith though.
I have the feeling you'll have that Jupiter hashing till Summer of 2056,and at 14k/coin and 99 trillion diff, with one asic core left... and still be stuck on Slush doing it... hehe  Grin
Props to you my friend... not bad when you got a box full of water from DHL!
Using a hair-drier, and sheer determination... you beat the odds.
I think Titan(batch one) was probably the last stop at the mining station for home miners.
Good luck & happy hashing...

Yep, They don't want peeps refunding for Spooners Machines... By making the refunding process like "Molasses in winter", they can easily "Up the amount" they will earn when they add your Neptune to the farm by delaying refunding of Mining investment funds.
Just another factor of "Greed Syndrome", just like waiting 4 months to release upgrade cards for $350 dollars after they have gone well beyond ROI, and are ready to begin stocking the Boden facility with the next gen.
Ooooh, let's make a Franken-Jupiter too! While getting rid of old stuff, we can ship those out next week, and only give them 3th/s!
They wont care it takes 3- 1200 watt psu's to run it, really... and if we wait to ship them until a couple days before Easter, we can squeeze a few more days out of the Difficulty level!
Evil Geniuses. They did it all perfect; absolutely flawless.

The waiting-before-doing-the-refund is a really shady tactic, they are most likely aiming to getting a lower number of refunds if people on the forums claim it takes some time.

Additionally it might be cashflow related, as they probably don´t just have the cash lying around if they take 200 or so refund requests, which is not to say they don´t have the cash or assets, it might just not be readily available for instant bank-wire transfer.

Maybe they also hope (and this is pure speculation on my part) to sell some of the 3rd batch products and just take that money to refund earlier customers.

The really sad thing in my opinion is that people accepted a 30% overpriced (25% on hardware + cost of psus) Frankenjupiter with a 20% too high power efficiency for their money, which should have given them bleeding-edge 20nm mining technology.
However it looks like the efficiency of the Neptune will most likely be no better than 0,7J/Gh, so not really worth the wait.
If they pull out some crazy hashrate increase to 4,5 TH, which seems doable, they will have lost a lot of customers by not communicating to the people funding their operations with thousands of dollars tied up in the investment.

Still, 4,5 TH only gives you 2,22$ / GH in June, which you can nearly get now.

I do understand that a company aims to pleasing a large number of customers, but this could easily be achieved by regular updates, competitive pricing and a short time-to-market business approach.

I further believe that KnC might have bitten off more than they should chew.
Based on their 28nm chip in combination with a smart layout and cooling system
and by lowering the voltage and clock frequency on their chips, a 1,5-2th box fitting a 4u factor would have been easily engineerable by March this year.

Also, providing the plan B hashpower only in June, the last possible month of their production promise, this shows that they never intended to come anywhere close to Q1 when announcing shipment in Q1/Q2.

While this isn´t legally misleading, it was at least psychologically.

I am still waiting on my refund requested on 4th April.
Liam told me: Refunds are usually processed within 10-15 working days but can take longer during busy periods.

I think it is bullshit how we have to bust our ass to get them funds to be in a waiting queue, but they can take their sweet time refunding us.

Because I'm one of the victims of their delayed tactics I managed to work out a special deal for people who are waiting for refunds from KnC:

Waiting for your Neptune refund?
Secure your place now by sending the reservation fee and pay only 3000$ per unit when required and pay the rest after you get your refund. You will need to have proof of asking refund. That will be mandatory!
5.4 TH/s miner for $4,495, August delivery.

Happy Easter to everyone!
