We definitely need more merit sources there. We have only 2, and I am of them.

I will ask people to volunteer for the job!
Good idea, 2 merit sources are definitely not enough for a local board of your size which is obvious from your merit/post ratio.

I already thought about it. But then I thought that maybe I'm not in that category, because I hardly browse the international tabs.  Lips sealed Undecided
You don't have to be active in the general part of the forum  if you are applying to be a merit source that will be focused on your local board so I don't see that as some kind of a problem.
3242  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: June 24, 2022, 03:08:37 PM
I have graphs of the local temperature, of the status of my vps, of the euro exchange rate - chf, in short, many graphs that I am not going to tell you
I love the graphics and yours are very beautiful Smiley
Cheers babo, glad to hear that you like the way they look. I tried many different tools and in the end Google charts proved to be the easiest and most elegant solution, with enough customization options for my needs.

I have created a consolidate version of your data using only Portuguese board information:
I must say that it looks very good and easy to understand which is always important. Good job!

Since Portuguese board is one of the most active ones while you consistently month after month have one of the lowest merit per post ratios, has anyone from your board considered applying for a merit source as I think you could certainly use more of those.

3243  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777, Bitlucy and long story in brief on: June 24, 2022, 02:35:34 PM
Up until now I didn't want to give my opinion, but now I opposed this allegations against him.
I really don't understand some people who are acting like judge and executioner in this case, and continue to blame Royse for everything...
in real life they would probably cause someone to commit suicide or do something crazy  Roll Eyes
Flag: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=366632
Gotta agree with this. He for sure should have handled this situation much better, but was his intention to cheat anyone out of their money, or help someone doing that? I don't think so. So yeah, opposing the flag as well.
3244  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Crypto Debit Cards on: June 24, 2022, 02:16:40 PM
There is one small project that has legit card without kyc (coindebit.io) like I wrote before, but it is only available in United States, both for spending and for issuing physical cards.
If what they are saying on their website is true and you maximum amount that you can have on card is only $250, that makes it very impractical for every day use. I also see that they are hiding their fees (did you maybe find out that info?) which from my experience usually means that they are quite high so combo of those two things would most probably make it unusable for me even if its available in Europe.

We can always find a way to play around the rules and regulations, and we the people are the majority, so we don't always have to roll-off and accept everything they are offering us.
I am all up for trying to avoid rules and regulations, but I am also realistic about compromises needed to be made in order to use crypto debit card in an efficient way.
3245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Grocery Stores In U.S Set To Install Bitcoin ATM on: June 24, 2022, 09:50:28 AM
I wonder why a lot of crypto news blogs are focusing on Shiba Inu, the press release says:
Quote
Operating 59 stores in three states, including California, Arizona and Nevada, Cardenas Markets' customers will have access to Coin Cloud's DCMs to buy and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum and over 40 other digital currencies with cash.
so Shiba Inu is in "others". How much are some of those guys getting paid to pump these tokens?
Judging by the amount of comments in this thread that are focused on Shiba INU, many didn't bother reading your post and that article you shared.

It’s simply means that mass adoption of Bitcoin ATMs can’t be stopped.
I've used ATMs in the past, but now with so many different ways to buy and sell Bitcoin, I don't see a bright future for them. Unless they lower the fees significantly.

Unlike in the United Kingdom, they are calling Bitcoit ATM owners to cease operations in their country.
As far as I know, owners of BTC ATM in UK have to own licence to offer financial services and since none of them had that, they had to shut them down.

I said I would go down a little bit, but the worst month will be June.  Roll Eyes
In June, I shouldn't even be in the top3... I'll be waiting for your analysis.  Wink
That's what you always say but in the end you either finish at the top or 2nd. I have a hunch that it will be like that again Wink

I will update my own overview with your graphs, as soon this stupid real life stops taki JJG me away from the forum.
Yeah It suck when real life gets in a way of forum activity. Cheesy
3247  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Crypto Debit Cards on: June 24, 2022, 06:41:32 AM
On their website they say there are no annual or transaction fees, but they could charge some fees for trading crypto and for fiat conversion when you spend or buy something with KuCard.
Yeah I saw that part, its pretty much standard thing when it comes to crypto debit cards, nothing new there.

They are still testing this card so we don't know how usable it will be in real life, and I won't open new kyc account just to get this card.
It will be very hard for them to compete with Binance, at least here in Europe. Competition is a good thing though for us users, so I say bring it on.

I am hoping that someone will create legit usable no-kyc card that works in Europe and worldwide.
Since regulations are only getting tighter, I think that a legit and usable non KYC crypto debit card with reasonable fees is unfortunately nothing but a pipe dream.
3248  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: June 24, 2022, 05:49:39 AM
Its time for another monthly overview, this time a little bit sooner than the last month. Like in all previous overviews, all charts and tabled were made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space whihc I suggest to check if you want more in depth overview.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Nigerian, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards (yet).

Post activity per local board during May 2022

Unfortunately we are continuing with the same trend; 17262 posts were written during May 2022 which is 6% decrease compared to month later. This is somewhat expected as summer coming so I guess people have better things to do than write on the forum.

Russian local board is by far the most active one while Turkish and German are holding their usual their usual 2nd and 3rd spots and its the same thing with 4th & 5th (Indonesian and Portuguese). Majority of active boards have somewhat similar numbers compared to previous one, except Pakistan that experienced huge decrease, going down from 863 posts written in April to only 315 during May. Dunno whayt happened there, maybe someone from their local can shed some light.

Number of active per local board during May 2022

Even though numbers generally decreased, that didn't affect number of active users much as last month 1352 users wrote at least 1 post across all local boards which is very similar to April and 1372 active users. Keep in mind that this chart counts all users that wrote at least 1 post in that period so real number of active users is much lower than that. Its just that I haven't decided the threshold to determine that so for now I am keeping the minimum requirement

Merit shared per local board during May 2022

As expected, decrease of post activity led to decrease of merit shared as well; from 5556 merits shared in April, local boards went down to 4809 merits shared in May, which is pretty noticeable 13% decrease. While majority of that decrease is simply due fewer posts being written, some local boards could definitely use few more merit sources. Hopefully theymos sorts that out soon.

Merit senders and receivers per local board for May 2022

Self explanatory, everything is obvious here, with Indonesian board sticking out when it comes to amount of people that were part of merit system, despite the low amount of merit shared last month and similar thing can be said for Pilipinas and Turkish boards.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for May 2022

And for the end of this series of charts, merit per post ratio. Standard names are at the top so no mjuch changes there, but it is noticeable that 12 month average is getting often higher than the last which hasn't been the case up until now and I expect that trend continues. As I mentioned before, I think that majority of local boards have enough merit to share, its just that members are not as active as they used to be. At least that's the case in my local board and its probably the same situation elsewhere.

The most active members per local board during May 2022

Last but not the least, list of top 10 most active members per local boards. Even though I expected joker_josue (who was still great with 327 posts) to dominates this list again, this time Azrieli from Russian local board was the most active one with the impressive 359 posts written.

3249  Economy / Economics / Re: Who will Replace Russian Gas Supplies to Europe? on: June 24, 2022, 05:41:10 AM
LOL.. so you are saying that Europe will find replacement in the next couple of years.
Europe doesn't have to 100% replace, but to have alternative and not to rely so much on Russian gas. That would be step in the right direction.

What will they do until then? Maybe they will travel in donkey carts and heat their homes by burning firewood?
Same as we are doing now, and I don't see people traveling in donkey carts. And I don't see anything wrong in using firewood to heat your home, many people still do that in rural parts of my country.

It is Europe that is going to crumble, not Russia.
I kept listening that in while growing up in socialist Yugoslavia back in the 80s, how rotten capitalist west will crumble and we saw what happened.

Now the catch here is that Russians are used to a life of hardship and difficult economic conditions. But can the Europeans deal with such conditions?
That is true, Russians are used to dictators running and ruining their lives and unfortunately there's nothing they can do about it, unlike Europeans. Then again, Putin is not so young anymore (he already surpassed average male life expectancy in Russia) so who knows what will happen in the next few years.
3250  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Crypto Debit Cards on: June 23, 2022, 05:30:30 PM
The same applies to cards of payment services that work with cryptocurrency, for example, the advcash card also has a very limited cash withdrawal limit. I think this is due to the regulation around cryptocurrencies, and regulators do not want people to be able to withdraw a lot of cash through banking systems using crypto cards.
Not only cryptocurrency cards are affected with the relatively low limits, but the regular ones issued by banks as well (albeit withdrawal limits are higher). For example, card issued by my bank has 5000 kuna daily withdrawal limit (approximately 660 euro) so its a little bit more than a double of Binance card. Big advantage of Binance card is that daily spending limit is 8700 euro which should be enough for 99.99% users.

Its all probably about governments not liking the thought of us withdrawing money without them knowing on what exactly we are spending it.
3251  Other / Meta / Re: [INFO]Gambling Board Spams; Concerns, Solutions & Suggestions on: June 23, 2022, 05:17:48 PM
I don't buy the idea of having to create a new gambling thread for each season. It doesn't really change much of the outcome as, the game remains the game and users that frequent the gambling boards knows better to check out the last page to be updated or current on the on going discussions. A new season coming with a new thread doesn't change that. It only means, more threads to be archived or trashed and nothing changes with the threads title except for what season it is.
As someone who is active on another forum where for each season we get a new thread, I think that is a better solution than having everything in one huge topic, like its the case with NBA thread for example. To me it somehow looks cleaner and more organized than having last 7-8 season in one thread, like its the case with NBA topic where I used to be active.

There are a lot of spams in the gambling board, haven't been there myself and where it gets really bad as I see it is, where some users gets to make 90-100% of there posts on the gambling board. That shit ain't cool to me but somehow, it's toleratd and so, the spams thrive.
It's not problem at all if you write 100% of your posts in gambling board (or any other board for that matter) as long as you are genuine poster and know what you are talking about. Someone can write only 5 out of 25 weekly posts in gambling board and still produce useless spam and its up to managers to weed out the shitposters.

I wouldn't mind someone creating a new one and making it self-moderated if it would get rid of some of the posts where people are just reporting the goal scorers in a match and the team position in the standings.
I hated those when I was active in gambling board and I think if more people report those, shitposters would post them less. I wonder if managers automatically disqualify such posts as that could be another way to combat those.
3252  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Crypto Debit Cards on: June 23, 2022, 01:58:05 PM
It is unlikely that the development of the card could have been carried out even earlier, and Binance became the pioneer among exchange cards, if I am not mistaken, other exchanges also began to follow this trend. Most likely, FTX just released this product earlier, and Kucoin is still testing it.
Hm I thought that Coinbase was the first exchange that release debit cards as IIRC one friend got his Coinbase card back in 2019 while Binance card  came to Europe in mid 2020 and I got mine few months after that. But Binance one is immensely more popular, at least here in Croatia.

It is known that no money will be taken for issuing a card, and it will also be free in terms of annual maintenance. Withdrawal limits and commissions for purchases will be announced, most likely when it is officially launched.
So pretty much the standard stuff and its good to see how situation changed compared to 4-5 years ago when Wirex had fees for every possible thing making it very impractical to use. What i would like to see is debit card with high daily ATM withdrawal limit as Binance allows only 290 euro which can be quite restricting.
3253  Economy / Economics / Re: Who will Replace Russian Gas Supplies to Europe? on: June 23, 2022, 01:33:13 PM
The oil producing countries are always on the hit list of USA and this is happening in Russia as well. But Russia is not Iran or Iraq they have strong defence and they will not step back.
You think that Russia is any better in that regard? They would do the same thing USA is doing all around the world if they were capable of doing it. But since they aren't, they have to satisfy with conquering bunch of smaller neighbouring countries. Or you think that they became the largest country in the world peacefully?

No one can replace gas and oil from Russia, and we must be prepared for this.
While I am against sanctions as they are completely useless, Europe will eventually figure things out and find the replacement. It won't of course happen over night but it will in a couple of years. If this drags on (and it probably will), life standard in Europe will go somewhat go down, while Russia will crumble like USSR did since they learned nothing from that failed experiment.

KuCoin exchange launches its Kucard crypto debit card: https://www.kucoin.com/kucard
So after FTX announced their card, Kucoin decided to go down the same road. Btw , where you maybe able to find any info about fees and withdrawal limits?

Since Kucoin is one of the rare exchanges where I don't have to do KYC I think that I will skip this offer. After all, Binance card works almost flawlessly for me (except some weird contactless feature issues every once in a wqhile), so no reason to give my data to yet another exchange.

How old are you, my friends? What countries do you live in?
My country (Croatia) went something similar to what Ukraine is going through 30 years ago, with my hometown being completely destroyed (might wanna check "battle of Vukovar", its our version of Mariupol) so don't you think that I am not sorry or that I don't understand what Ukraine is going through. And yeah, I was old enough to experience all that, firsthand.

Are you so illiterate that you do not understand the difference between freedom of speech and propaganda? In that case, before you talk about freedom of speech, first learn to define the difference between "freedom of speech" and "propaganda.
What you obviously don't understand is that freedom of speech is also freedom to tell lies and bullshits.

So why shouldn't our forum, which is under the jurisdiction of a country that is actively engaged in this fight, join its country and the whole world to help fight popaganda?
Because its a slippery slope. I like the forum just the way it as and if you don't like it, I am sure that you will find plenty of other forums where you will feel safe and protected.

You miss the joke Rik.  Grin
I like to think that I am good at that, but I guess I failed this time. Gg  Cheesy

If you are to blame anyone, then it should be the users who spam and not the CM or the campaigns, and mind you that most campaigns only require about 10 posts to be made in the gambling board per week and that is not too much for users with understanding of what they are writing.
True, 10 posts in gambling board is nothing for a genuine user due nature of discussions there, but problem is that there are not enough genuine gambling board users on the forum and that forces managers to enforce rules like writing certain amount of posts in gambling board. Its sellers market and shitposters are taking advantage of that.

And imo i do not think users are 'forced' to post there, they applied for the campaigns themselves even after seeing its rules requires gambling posts, so that simply means they are accepting to make the required posts there, and should do it constructively.
When majority of campaigns have that requirement, what do you think it will happen? Average signature participant will of course adjust his posting behavior to meet the demands. Rest assured if we get some well paid campaign that asks people to write in lets say off topic (or any other board for that matter) you would suddenly get bunch of members writing there.

3 days before, they're conducting $10,000 giveaway Cheesy

And look how they conveniently disabled the option to comment on their tweets, perfectly knowing what would happen. This is a very shady practice that is rarely used, especially not if you are offering some service like they do.

Why don't you start by tagging Royse777 using your real account instead of rushing in here with sock puppet accounts trying to push your own agenda through me?
That's probably because you tagged their accounts for promoting 1xbit so now they want you to do the same with Royse.

3260  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto Lender BlockFi Says Client Data Leaked In Security Breach on: June 22, 2022, 03:18:53 PM
No doubt things will settle down in the short term with this loan BlockFi have taken, but they must be hoping there are enough users who are naive enough to leave their money on the platform that they don't exhaust it and have to go begging for more.
Speaking of people who still trust these platforms, it was so cringy to see people who have money in Nexo gloating over their public offer to take Celsius, thinking that must mean  Nexo is solid AF and that their money is safe while not realizing it was just a PR stunt in order to get more users.

I used to think that after each bear period crypto market comes up healthier but after seeing everything that has happened during this bull run I became way more pessimistic. All this will be soon forgotten and people will continue to make same mistakes as before.
