3241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earning enough with Bitcoin without Job ? on: August 29, 2017, 09:08:57 AM
I was just wondering that is it possible to earn steady income without going 8-5 hours regular office job.. I mean you got some bitcoin in your wallet .. are you the enough for living ?
you still need to do a job to get that much bitcoin and depending on what you can do online for bitcoin you may end up working 10-12 hours a day for the same amount of payment you got from your "office job" but get it out of bitcoin or you can make that in 1 hour! but as I said it depends on what you can and can not do.

Quote
another option is to regularly working on Bitcoin related trading/activites .. that earn you enough amt of monthly income ..
that is a viable option but only if you are good at trading, have some experience and if you are ok with the stress of trading and the crazy swings that sometimes happen.
if so then start it as a second job first and then if you were successful then you can go full time and big. also take a look at altcoin trading there is a good amount of money there too.
3242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A fairer future to one at the path on: August 29, 2017, 08:49:59 AM
...are exactly what the richest and most powerful people are always looking for and exactly what the poorest of the poorest can only dream of....

what you are missing is the fact that cryptocurrencies are considered high risk investments. specially when it comes to altcoins. and just because of that most people (even the richest of the rich) are looking for a less risky investment instead and stay away from the crypto currencies in general.

and I also don't get why you say "poor people are dreaming of it"! nothing is preventing them from investing!!
3243  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trade or Hodling on: August 29, 2017, 08:38:58 AM
I prefer to trade with profits that can be earned every day. If using a large capital gains are gained satisfactory.
As for holding I still can not analyze a coin that will rise in the future.
You are lucky if you are good at day trading. Many people fear day trading especially because they lose money usually here. Holding as comparatively is safer especially if you are holding bitcoins. Everyone knows that they do rise in value after every dump. I will prefer holding bitcoins than trading with them.
hold bitcoin only when you have a good amount of bitcoin and if you have less it is just waste of time holding it,yes the price will pump still you cant stick to small amount of bitcoin for lifetime.

define good amount of bitcoin!
is it $1000 worth of bitcoin or is $1 worth of bitcoin also acceptable?

$1 worth of bitcoin was equal to 10BTC once. so do you still consider that a "waste of time" to hold on to this amount of bitcoin? you see as a long term investment, price will continue to go up and in a couple of years what seemed small will be huge.
when I started using bitcoin price was about $200 and all the "small amounts" that I earned and held are now worth a fortune.
you can see an example of them here: $7.47 payment is now worth $152
3244  Economy / Speculation / Re: September 2017 coming... Thoughts? on: August 29, 2017, 08:23:34 AM
I am sorry to disappoint you but if you are expecting a crash then it may not ever happen until a new ATH is found.
we are after a big price rise and also after multiple price corrections where price took a dive and recovered. and remember than each time price does a correction after a rise, it becomes smaller. so you can not expect the same bottom even if a drop happen. if you have missed buying in the previous biggest drop then you have missed that forever. right now you can either buy at this price or wish for an unpredictable thing to happen like an exchange getting hacked out of nowhere or US banning bitcoin Grin
3245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suddenly, Russia Plans To Ban Cryptocurrency Sales To ‘Ordinary People’ on: August 29, 2017, 08:12:24 AM
based on experience any news that comes from Russia has always been way too exaggerated. for example some random Russian dude talks about banning bitcoin and the news sites start saying Russia banned bitcoin!
and again based on experience things that come from news sites like "cointelegraph" should be considered bullshit unless proven otherwise.
3246  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of exchange withdrawal fees Update: 2017-8-29 on: August 29, 2017, 08:06:24 AM
UPDATE:
a couple of days ago C-cex increased their withdrawal fees 10 fold. and that shoots them to the bottom of the table.

will update if anything changed.
3247  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Market-wide gains and dips on: August 28, 2017, 10:53:36 AM
to add to that, anything with Chinese behind them usually have a lot of cash flowing in. Remember how BTC was so much controlled by China alone at the start? GRS is another coin that has got attention from Chinese peeps, and I'm hoping some magic again although it did get pumped a while back but it was too small of a pump for something with so much tech behind them. These guys are constantly developing.

actually bitcoin was never controlled by Chinese. they had a decent effect on the market and they still do but it was not "control". it was more of an FUD that they spread in the market to cause some panic or hype the price up for personal gains. it has always been like this.

and this has already been proven when PBoC closed down all their exchanges for over a month and the only result was a temporary small dip (like always) and then continued on its way upwards (again like always) and this theory of "Chinese controlling bitcoin" was put to rest forever.
3248  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Weekly Analysis: Will It Break $4500? on: August 28, 2017, 10:45:19 AM
When Bitcoin is $4350 and had been to $4470 during last week, I don't feel $4500 has much relevance or it is some big milestone for Bitcoin rally.

it is not a milestone it is more of a resistance that when it is finally broken, we can expect higher prices than the previous ATH. this is how they say, the previous resistance becomes the new support. and that will be the case here. when the previous ATH is broken and price goes above it, you can expect a rise bigger than that ATH and finally a new record for price history.

but as long as price is under it, bitcoin will remain this way, trying to break, failing and dropping to start over again. this happens in about a $200-$300 range below it. ($4470-$4180
3249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this person thinking on: August 28, 2017, 10:28:38 AM
this looks like one of those classic micropayments. you have probably signed up in one of them long ago with your bitcoin address and had some referrals or something which is now generating some dust for you which they are automatically paying out.

specifically when the tx includes a 60 satoshi/B fee, it makes me more sure that this is a faucet payment!
3250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you guys withdraw your bitcoins to cash? on: August 28, 2017, 10:21:19 AM

The best way to use bitcoin is to have a bitcoin backed debit card. That way you have bitcoin for store of value but are able to 'spend' it in fiat-denominated merchants.

This is the optimal configuration.

not when there are fees involved. the back breaking fees actually Wink
I'd rather spend my cash or use the regular debit cards that I have (which don't have any additional fees in my country) or spend bitcoin directly rather than using a third party, trusting them with my bitcoins without having control over the private keys and pay them high fees to use my own bitcoin!

we created bitcoin to no longer need banks and services like this not to go back to them with bitcoin!
3251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The time is WWIII, what are our Bitcoin Doomsday Preppers doing? on: August 28, 2017, 09:48:58 AM
when war breaks out, even if a small war between two small groups inside a country, things become hectic and then unpredictable. speaking of World War and on a massive scale, nothing can be foreseen. and the economy would no longer exist. everything will become about survival and nothing else. no money, gold, bitcoin,... would matter anymore. the currency would be food and shelter. a potato will be worth more than 1000BTC when there is a scarcity.
3252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Discourage by our country. on: August 28, 2017, 09:44:01 AM
if bitcoin is not illegal in your country (which I don't think it is based on a google search) then it is like anywhere else, because people aren't really familiar with bitcoin. you may see bitcoin becoming popular these days but still there are so many countries that are behind this adoption curve.
and besides You can be the first to accept bitcoin in your country, for example if you have a business, shop or something like that, start accepting bitcoin payments. put up the sign and everything and begin spreading the word. that may even help your business.
3253  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what do you think about pump and dump? on: August 25, 2017, 01:19:55 PM
what do you think about pump and dump?
it is a filthy, unethical, and even illegal thing to do but it happens and there is nothing anyone can do about it except accept it and try to take advantage.

Quote
did you ever trade on pump and dump event?
anybody who has ever made any trade in altcoins have "traded on pump and dump".

Quote
can you give few tips for how to make money from this events? what i need to look for?
it is not an easy thing to say, the biggest indication is a sudden rise out of nowhere with a sharp price rise and a large volume. join in before or in the early leg of this rise an dump as fast as possible.
what you shouldn't do is joining one of those pump groups. they are complete scams that will rip you off and dump on you to make profit. you will lose money in the long run.
3254  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Market-wide gains and dips on: August 25, 2017, 01:02:22 PM
-snip-

I agree with Xavofat that usually(not 100% of the time) other altcoins do rise together with bitcoin. Looking at the charts comparing Bitcoin to Ethereum itself won't be accurate enough as there are alot of altcoins out there that has decent economy; Ethereum just really went down, and I think it's really not related to bitcoin's rise in price. Take a look at the other alts that rose together with bitcoin (e.g. NEO, IOTA, STEEM).

Though I can be wrong, feel free to correct me aswell.

ethereum was just an example, you know making each one of those charts took some time from me, they are not just available on the internet for me to go and take a screenshot to share here!
I have to go extract the data for price on each dates for bitcoin and each altcoin (twice: 1 for their BTC value and 1 for their USD value) and then type them in excel and draw the charts in a way to show the lines like that (with 2 sets of data on different scales).

I may do it for a couple of other altcoins later if I can manage to get some free time, but from my experience those 2 charts above are a good representative of what I have been seeing so far.
obviously there are exceptions such as NEO to this rule and there is a good explanation for it too. NEO changed its name and had a very nice pump and hype recently and that is an exception.
3255  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Market-wide gains and dips on: August 25, 2017, 07:20:23 AM
so far whenever bitcoin price rises, altcoins get dumped.
Nope.  They've usually moved together so far this year.

have you EVER looked at a chart? I am not saying what I explained happens all the time, but in 99% of the times what I explained above is true.

here let me show some charts, maybe you can understand it better.
the following two charts are showing the period of time when bitcoin price went up from $3300 to the near ATH of $4300 from 8 Aug to 15 Aug.
the comparison is between price of ETH in bitcoin and also in dollar.

the blue line is showing bitcoin price in USD in both charts which is rising. and the red line shows the ethereum price which is falling in both markets against BTC and against USD
the swings in ETH/USD is mostly because these are average values and because it was falling against bitcoin price which is rising so it covered a little part of the drop in USD.

3256  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you have 1 BTC , is it good decisions to go all-in in 1 coins? on: August 25, 2017, 06:57:53 AM
well, it depends on a lot of things!

* most important of them is you! are you a good (experienced) trader? if yes, then it is a good decision to go all in in one altcoin. because you have obviously chosen that altcoin for a reason and it will give you the most profit that you have the potential of gaining. but something tells me you are not so experienced, in which case it is a terrible idea because you will be taking a huge risk and going all in means losing that much more too.

* the other thing that comes to mind is the altcoin you are investing in. sometimes there are coins which are showing a huge potential of rising. for example I can name Litecoin a couple of months ago when it was $4 and they started signaling for SegWit. I personally invested a large amount of bitcoin in it because I knew very well that this is going to rise big time.

* in the end it comes down to your risk management. some people are more comfortable if they take huge risks! and going all in falls under that category of huge risks.
3257  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will it fall? on: August 25, 2017, 06:51:18 AM
Well as of right this moment, I'm seeing very little volume being traded on kraken. So whales are holding for the time being. I can only hope this means it will go up past 4500 in the next few days

maybe you don't know how to read charts, maybe you are looking at a wrong place, or maybe you are just saying random stuff here but the volume is not at all "little". it has been growing in the past week and currently it is at a very high level.
kraken had $35.5 million for EUR market only and a total of $56 million for USD+EUR

and by the way hodling doesn't mean price will go up. buying means it will go higher! and when buying happens volume goes up Cheesy
a low volume means nothing is happening and price remains stable or even drops a little. (a bigger drop means a huge volume)
3258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The OFFICIAL SegWit Activation Thread on: August 25, 2017, 06:45:00 AM
Dear, does segwit make any changes? It seems the fee is huge. I need to pay transaction fee .0007 BTC in order to send 0.001.Why transaction fee become so high after Segwit

this is a temporary situation that has many reasons. the spam attack, the drop in hashrate for about 2 days, increase in number of transactions because bitcoin price was rising fast,...
and eventually this will be solved and fees will come down. even without SegWit.
with SegWit things will be a little better too and eventually if LN can take some of them transactions away from the main chain (like the gambling sites or exchanges,...) it can help with the fee situation.
3259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin first true enemy! Not the goverment, banks or police. It's Antpool. on: August 25, 2017, 06:39:15 AM
I hope the Russians can get the money to establish new mining farms to compete with these Chinese miners. They have not shown good faith at all and the sooner we get rid of them the better. The UK and USA are sitting on their hands and they have all the resources to compete with these Chinese mining farms.

^grrrrrrrr^

Chinese miners have much easier access to hardware and cheap electricity that's why the Western miners seem to be trailing behind the mining game. This is the first time I wanted Americans to excel something at, but unfortunately most are only focusing on trading and mining is just a distant memory in the past.

what @Kakmakr is pointing out is a news which came out a while ago about a Russian hardware manufacturing company that is going to start producing ASIC miners for mining bitcoin. and if they succeed in building something as efficient or even better, it can change many things. it will increase the hashrate and also create a big competition and eventually increases the decentralization of mining.
3260  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Noob question on: August 24, 2017, 01:11:43 PM
in theory yes. that is how you trade anything, you buy them when they are low and sell them when they are high. and that is exactly what you just described here. and you are right so far it sounds simple but the hard part is knowing what that "low" and "high" prices are to buy and sell respectively.

and from $10 to $11 may sound small but if you look closer that is a 10% profit and that doesn't really happen ever day easily!

visit the trading board here, you can find similar questions and if you use google you can find articles and videos for helping you get started with trading.
