3321  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Fraudulent transaction along with the correct one(Ledger Nano S + Electrum) on: February 15, 2020, 06:34:39 PM
I have something similar in past when I play with change address from Ledger, and one transaction was invisible because Ledger Chrome app was set to not check all addresses. I fix that in Electrum with increasing the gap limit. If only the solution would be so easy in your case...

This might be the solution here, one can only hope.

It's disturbing because it seems like this points to a bug with either the Ledger or Electrum.  I don't see anything the OP could have done to cause it, so it's probably not an operator error.  I use a different hardware wallet myself, but I use Electrum, and own a Ledger.  If this an issue with Electrum it may not be limited to one brand of hardware wallet, which is quite concerning.

So, maybe this shitstick gets away this time.
This is the first time I have ever heard the consequences of asking a question to be described as "getting away with it".

I am literally speechless for words as to how to respond to that. That sounds a lot like something someone might say who is being graded by the chinese social credit system.

Cool story, bro.  If you can't see that I was using my own indignant emotional reaction to express why my rationality would excuse the user's action, then I don't know what to say.  Take the whole post into account, please.  Don't focus on eight words, and pretend like they were about "asking a question."  I'm sure you're reading comprehension skills are more acute than that.

While I do agree with TECHSHARE and eddie13 as far as sometimes the wrong road is taken by users, I believe that a person shows much more character by having the balls to say what they feel without fear of retribution.

I can see why you're taking it personally, I would too in your situation.  The idea that Hhampuz is responsible for paying the participants while he too is among those not getting paid is absolutely ludicrous.  Obviously Hhampuz is working for the same company, also expecting compensation.  Anyone with half a brain should understand that.  It's an audacious, tactless request.

He expects someone who also got scammed to pay him, so he's not the one getting scammed.  Someone who did actual work; auditing and counting many people's posts while he only had to make posts he would have made anyway.  Furthermore, it demonstrates that he cares more about the pay than he does for his fellow forum members, and being a contributing member of the forum.  I wish he had used his main account because now I'm curious who this shitbird is.

And that's why he used an alt.  Which is allowed, and I'm glad it's allowed.  Look at the responses in that thread he created.  Look at my reaction to his audacity.  If he had used his main account he very likely would have been tagged and/or excluded.  If not now, eventually.  He would have had his post history scrutinized, and likely would have been exposed for the sig-spammer he is.

So, maybe this shitstick gets away this time.  Maybe he sees this thread, as well as the one he created, and takes all these responses to heart.  Maybe he turns a new leaf, and this is a good thing in the end.

Or, maybe he remains a sig-spammer and eventually gets found out.

@Vod, I had no idea you had a stroke last year, man I'm sorry to hear that.  I'm glad to hear you are recovering, and I sincerely wish you the best of health.

I also had no idea you have worked as a cop.  I know from experience that LEOs have a hard time with trust.  I watched as a very close family friend alienated his children, and went years without seeing them.  This weight heavy on his heart and mind until he finally was able to see his own roll and responsibilities in his family's relationship.  This wasn't until years after retirement, and only a few years before his death.

Life is too short to take things so seriously, and this is just the internet after all.  If what TMAN said is accurate, that you plan on renting a boat, do it!  Go fishing, catch some sun, knock back a few cold ones, and enjoy your time.

I hope to see you around for years to come.

Wolves
Liverpool
Chelsea

Nice little parlay, what do you think Smiley

I like the Wolves this weekend, but I'm not sure about Chelsea.  I'll venture a guess and say ManU will be able to earn a point; no score draw.   But other than that, yeah, LFC for sure.

3331  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2020 Democrats on: February 14, 2020, 03:37:04 PM
....
Americans are mostly centrist, when you come down to it.  We may swing one direction, then the other, but for the most part things tend to stay fairly balanced.  Candidates that are talking about green new giveaways make a lot of noise on the twitterweb, but that kind of talk doesn't resonate with unplugged Americans.  We want to discuss, and resolve issues that affect our daily lives.  That's why Trump won in 2016, and that's why he'll win in 2020...

So the Democrat candidates are all disconnected with the American people ... why?

I think it's the difference between pushing an agenda that's good for America, vs. pushing an agenda that's good for The Party.  Even here in deep blue California my Democrat family and friends are no longer able to defend the Democrat's leadership.  They are disenchanted with direction the party is going.  They aren't socialists, they aren't sold on the Green New Deal, they know the difference between universal healthcare and socialized healthcare (or Medicare-For-All, as the media likes to call it.)

I also believe social media, and cable news have a divisive and polarizing affect on politics.  It tend to attract the most extreme perspectives, while giving the appearance those views are more widely accepted.  Social media does not provide an accurate representation of the larger American philosophy, and the MSM are more often wrong than not.  It might seem like a ton of Americans do want "Free Stuff," but we are well aware of the pitfalls of handing over too much power to the government, and especially to one political party.

The American political landscape will balance it's self out, it always has in the past.  During the Clinton administration the Republicans went through the same partisan extremism, and now they seem more like the rational and effective party of the Reagan years.

I find it difficult to understand the mindset of strong social conservatives, so I could easily believe that I'm underestimating just how much his homosexuality will motivate conservatives to oppose him, as well.

This is a very interesting point you make.  It reminds me of the 2008 election, when Obama won his first term.  Here in California we had measures on the ballot to allow gay marriages and to decriminalize marijuana.  Both failed miserably.

A good friend of mine actually predicted that those measures would fail, and it was largely because of the demographic of voters who turned out for the election.  This friend of mine is half Mexican, and has a lot Democratic family members who were very supportive of Obama.  Knowing what he knows about the Hispanic community, he was confident that even though they are Democrats they are actually extremely conservative on social issues.  It could be cultural or a religious predisposition, or likely both as they can often conflate.  This friend also commented that Black Americans can also be very socially conservative, if not downright homophobic.

Being that the Democratic party, which often bills itself as "socially progressive," relies heavily on Black and Latino votes, I think this conflict will hurt Buttigieg's chances of winning the primary, let alone the General election.

I personally have nothing against someone's sexual orientation, and if I thought he would make a good president I'd vote for him.  Like Lindsey Graham, for example.  If Buttigieg does win, it's not like he would be the first gay president.  I just hope history doesn't repeat itself...

Oh, wait, there is something in peloso's trust wall about manipulation of DT

I don't know if peloso is learning how the trust system works, or he has been attempting to promote himself.  I noticed him when he added me to his trust list a couple of months ago, then removed me a couple of weeks later.  If you go back even further in the trust inclusion/exclusion history you'll see what I mean.

He was first voted onto DT1 in the beginning of December.  The week preceding 2019.07.14 he added 150 members to his inclusion list, and 114 more the week after that.  The following week he removed 24, then removed 25 more the week after that.  All of the members he removed are those that did not reciprocate his inclusion.  A couple of weeks later he purged his inclusion list of everyone that did not have him included.  His modifications cause me to suspect that he was including people with the expectation that they would reciprocate.  Like I said before, I don't know if that's the case, I've never asked him to explain his actions.

I'm mostly pointing to peloso as an example of misusing the trust system.  Whether it was an attempt to experiment with inclusions/exclusions, or an effort to promote himself in the trust system, it's the wrong way to go about it.  Sometimes I think it might be due to a lack of understanding, but with LoyceV's guide already translated into 12 languages, one would think that wouldn't be an issue.
3333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 13, 2020, 03:53:19 PM
Going unbeaten in the league would be a huge achievement though and I hope he doesn't throw that away.

I agree, that's why I doubt Klopp will do any rotations this weekend.  They've gotten this far going unbeaten, and with only 13 games left in the season and not much contention in their upcoming schedule, it seems they can easily set the records and take the league without a loss.  Klopp can probably taste it.  I hope he doesn't sacrifice the CL, but I have a feeling he's looking at making EPL history this year.  LFC can do it with many more wins than the Gunners had in 2003-04, we're witnessing the new "Invincibles."

To pass the season without any defeats is a great achievement, but I don’t think that it will be seriously considered by anyone in the management of the team, given that the whole fight for the Champions League is ahead. I think the victory in the Champions League will be much more important than the statistical achievements inside domestic championship (which in any case will be won).

I see your point, and can't argue with that.  It certainly looks like LFC has the EPL trophy in the bag, and to take the UCL trophy as well would be the best possible outcome.  Who knows, the way LFC is playing they might be able to win (or at least draw) most of their upcoming EPL games with the youngsters on the field.
3334  Economy / Reputation / Re: by rallier on: February 13, 2020, 03:45:03 PM
Exactly, I imagine it’s a simple, you scratch mine & I’ll scratch yours. Literally 10 PM’s & you’re in.
maybe its time Theymos updated the criteria, 1000 merits per vote or something that is harder to achieve.

For months I've been suggesting that the qualification criteria be revised.  At the very least I think it's time to increase the number of DT1 inclusions to qualify for DT2.  Right now a member only needs on DT1 inclusion to be on DT2, I would like to see it raised to at least two, maybe three would be better.

An increase in the merit requirements for votes and super-votes might be a bit premature, but I suspect that's not far down the line either.  Over the last couple of months we've had as many as 126 people qualify for DT1, out of which 100 are randomly selected.  I prefer that DT1 remain limited to 100 members, but the more people qualify the more randomized it'll be.  I'm not sure how people feel about that, whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, but I tend to prefer stability.  So, we can either increase the number of DT1 members, or reduce the number members who qualify.

Your concerns about russian board is too high. In russian local, compared for example to turkish there no trust-because-origin but in return there some trolls and crypto haters from russian local into DT.

I agree with this statement.  There were issues with the Russian members and their inclusions in the past, but I think that's mostly resolved now.
3335  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: multibit hd on: February 12, 2020, 11:06:41 PM
I've never used MultiBit wallet, so I don't know if they use their own seed phrase checksum like Electrum does, or if they use the standard Bip39 checksum.  If it is Bip39, then the iancoleman tool should show you the same addresses that you see in MultiBit.  The only way that wouldn't happen is if you have mistaken a word in your phrase, you included an extension to your seed phrase, or enabled a Bip39 passphrase.

I would suggest you scrutinize your seed phrase, and check it against the Bip39 work list to make sure you didn't enter the wrong word, or you may have made a mistake when you wrote it down.

The derivation path should be as follows:

"Unwatch" will only remove them from your watchlist, but I don't think there's any way to remove from "Show new replies to your posts."  As far as I know that list will continue to include every thread to which you've made a reply.

Just as a side note: I rarely click on "Show new replies to your posts," and use the watchlist exclusively to follow threads I find interesting.

I haven’t seen much of Atleti this season but a quick look at La Liga tells you that they’ve played 23 & only won 10. I appreciate that Simeone is a great manager but Griezmann is gone, Godin isn’t there any more. They’re not the same team that got to two CL finals a few years ago.

Results over the last 2.5 seasons tell you LFC are one of the best, if not the best team in the world. Over 2 legs LFC will definitely be stronger.

It's hard to predict the results of an international match across leagues, but it seems fairly obvious that LFC is the better team.  The way LFC dominated the CL last year, and with their unbeaten streak in the EPL extending well into last season are a demonstration how dangerous they are.  I could easily see the match in Madrid going 0-2, that wouldn't surprise me at all.
3338  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2020 Democrats on: February 12, 2020, 03:40:55 AM

It's really strange, the candidates that focus on real issues that matter to Americans are dropping like flies.  Yang and Delaney are out, both of whom actually have practical expectations, and make deliverable promises.  Two who aren't hell bent on implementing every woke socialist agenda.  Gabbard is another one, but she doesn't have a prayer, in my opinion.  It seems like all the candidates who are centrist enough to have made a real run for the general election don't stand a chance.

I see Klobuchar as one of those leftish for the primary, centering up for the general (assuming she gets the nomination,).  In fact she is already taking that centrist road, as demonstrated by the New Hampshire debate.  But that kind of deception will come to haunt her later.  I think Buttigieg will be coached the same way by his handlers, if he wins the nomination that is.  But will his dad's Marxist views, and his rhetoric during the primary keep him from converting the independents?

Americans are mostly centrist, when you come down to it.  We may swing one direction, then the other, but for the most part things tend to stay fairly balanced.  Candidates that are talking about green new giveaways make a lot of noise on the twitterweb, but that kind of talk doesn't resonate with unplugged Americans.  We want to discuss, and resolve issues that affect our daily lives.  That's why Trump won in 2016, and that's why he'll win in 2020, unless the Democrats can produce one honest, rational individual who isn't promising to give away the farm to pay for undeliverable promises.

For those of you who were holding your breath, Tom Steyer is out.  So it's official, his Schrodinger's cat of a campaign is dead.

Other than being the same gender, Pete is pretty much the opposite of trump in every other way, at least more so than any other candidate imo.

Wealth, Hair, Age, Stature, Military History, Sexual Orientation,  Personality, Intelligence

...track record.  Roll Eyes

Even a liberal rag like the LA Times can't ignore, omit, or hide his failed policies and how they affected South Bend, Indiana while he was mayor for the last 8 years.  Of course they desperately attempt to whitewash his failures by crediting him with successes on which a mayor has absolutely no impact.
