How is company size determined?
Updated criteria with explanations.

I believe though that in the future, should they have one, they should stick to their original claims of not being a pre-order company
I don't believe they will do a preorder again, not if I can help it.

Does it matter? Its his forum and his liability, he's free to choose what he allows or doesn't in terms of advertising. He doesn't need a concrete reason.
except it's not his forum. Yes it is. He says that it belongs to the community however from a legal standpoint he does own it. Any decision that he makes here can potentially cause him to have some kind of personal liability. His reasoning for not wanting to accept bitmixer's bid likely has something to do with fear of liability (probably criminal) - at least in my opinion This forum belongs to the community as much as your house does. We live in a capitalistic world, people have to own things. that's a terrible analogy. So, the public doesn't have any right to his house, correct? Well there you go, the public has exactly the same right (none) to 'own' this forum.

Wow so after mining with this thing for 2.5 days I think my controller just shit the bed. It won't mine and the ping is totally inconsistent...just drops off for about a minute...then comes back...then drops off... rinse/repeat.
So now I have a dead soldier until I can research & get some kind of replacement....less than one week from Christmas...nice.
That could also happen if its not mining / pool / network settings have gone bad. The units reset every ~100 seconds when no mining is detected.

Each miner goes though rigorous quality control by QA staffs multiple times. Sometimes the air turbulence during the air freight may cause damages to the miner as we use International Express via Air to deliver miners to the end customers. Please PM here or contact +1-844-248-6246 Option 2 to request the replacement parts sent to you. Please prepare the original order confirmation page to submit to the techs on the phone or in PM. PS: some are beyond our control, however, we do not point finger at UPS and say, UPS's problem deal with them, but, rather, when we are notified, we will handle the DOA RMA process as fast as we can. @techgeeks If you have a blank LCD screen during the bootup, then more than likely the loose contact MicroSD card, or currupted MicroSD card or damaged MicroSD card. Please try to reseat the microSD card, if that doesn't work, please try to reimage the MicroSD card from the image available at http://www.bitmaintech.comThank you Although I had no problems with my equipment, other than having to eject and re-insert a MicroSD card in one of my S4's and one bad PSIe port in 1 of 18 S3's, I have been pleased personally with BITMAIN rigs. If you imagine the vibration / impacts needed to dislodge an SD card from its slot, it gives you an idea what happens during shipping. And that no Bitmain made components get damaged, only very rarely a 3rd party PSU.

Specifically, I find it very annoying that BitFury, which I consider bad for the ecosystem is so highly ranked. I think that self mining on industrial mega scale should be punished severely in ranking. Just remember, this is what the actions are with the companies and actions to the consumers, at the present time. its not a all round thing since the day they started. Basically, dogie has marked BitFury as not doing any mining now, unless there is evidence that they are now, the score stays the same. That is one of the problems. They were a huge consumer ASIC company, they are now a huge ASIC company and they do sell into the marketplace - you've just got to have big pockets. They've also not done anything wrong, so their rating is where it should be. They have an ethics infraction for farm mining, but I don't see it as useful to penalise companies significantly for doing that. What a consumer needs to know is if what they order is going to arrive at all, on time and as described. Having a farm somewhere isn't going to interrupt that process, and may in fact strengthen it by making the company more financially resilient. "Damn, someone burnt down our factory. Luckily we have a second revenue stream so can rebuild and make these orders right." tldr, its hard to impose strong penalties just for farm mining. And Bitfury hasn't done anything wrong, they are a big player in the industry and you just need deep pockets to access that. I don't know what dogie thinks is the diffrence between "F = Operates own mining farm" and "FF = Operates own large mining farm"
No one gets an FF any more because information on farm size is hard to get with all the pomposity and secrecy. Western companies want to show off their farms as validation for investers, Eastern companies want to show off their farms in secret as validation for customers. And what is the cut-off for a large farm over a 'not large' farm?

So sad ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Can we have more information about the S5 option please??!! It sounds exciting but there is no published info, specs, or pricing so its hard to know what to do. I really hope that Bitmaintech is being truthful here and not building L1s to just sell out to a large customer. Was really looking forward to seeing what Bitmaintech could do in Scrypt. More information on S5 very soon.

They lost some RD people... look at the homepage, they are looking for 2 new guys, and then they have to realize that making scrypt ASICS are much harder than making sha256 miners...
There is more than one reason to hire. Bitmain has the latest team in the industry.

|
(spoiler - S5 will be shit or a similar waste of time/coNpensation OFFER{good luck actually getting it, mines taken >6 months to still not materialize})
Then choose the BTC option! ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

So uh, so when do we get to see the Vcore/GH curve?
It might be misleading to post it for the BE300S if he thinks that they're going to be significantly different than BE300 - which its suggested it will be.

The spring will be an interesting time for sure. I hope FC and AM build a decent size self mine with their cheap power in China.
AMHash takes 47$/Ths/month (0.8W/Ghs) = 0.08 USD/kwh - is it a cheap power? There is cheaper power in CN, however there are plenty of other reasons that manufacturers want farms in other countries even if they're more expensive.

Just the bad one is removed.
All the firmware releases are clearly there if you look at the web page correctly. Posts 26 hours later, doesn't understand the concept of time and a dynamic universe. It really makes no difference what time I post. The simple fact is, you said the firmware had been removed. It clearly has not. Well, the firmware was actually removed from the site at some stage, just that it has now been re-uploaded (I guess when the latter Nov 2014 release was ready). It is just mind-boggling for bitmain to re-upload the clearly broken / buggy / useless fimware back into public domain. I just can not fathom any usefulness / value this has or can have for the user. For bitmain, of-course, this can spike sales for replacement boards when users have bricked their original ones. Both removed again. The problem is is there are many different hardware revisions, some of which are fine and some of which aren't on new firmwares. The S3 is in a difficult position for updates but they're trying. And now I'm about, dodgy versions should be removed a lot quicker.

Recently got two R-Box's for a good price. Both devices are detected on my macbook. However, only one is capable of mining.
The non-mining device sometimes will have the blue light continuously illuminated (as opposed to flashing, as with the functioning unit), or not at all. I've swapped USB Cables, USB Ports, and Power Supplies, with no effect.
Thoughts? Anyway to do a factory reset on these?
I checked though the pictures and there isn't, because its a 'dumb' mining device without a controller. It receives inputs and returns values. Have you Zadig'ed? Is it detected in windows devices?

do I have a defective miner because I can only get a hash rates of 300 mh/s - 900 mh/s and sometimes get 2GH/s
Are you on the latest cgminer? Can you post a screenshot please?

I flashed the firmware on all my S3s today. All except one completed the process. I could not connect to it. So i used the reset button.
I was not able to connect to the original IP address (192.168.1.99) after resetting.
I noticed that only the red light blinks. None of the other LED lights come on. Also, the green light for the internet connection only comes on for a few seconds after starting turning on the miner.
Any help or advice is appreciated.
Likely bricked if you can't get the reset button to work.

Hello legendary miners!
I'll be moving my small home-farm /9 antminers s3/ to a new location. And was wondering do I need to care what the new place' subnet is if all of my miners are set to DHCP protocol? In other words since they are all DHCP will they just start working when I plug 'em to the other place's lan?
Cheers!
You'll be fine, its exactly what DHCP is designed to do. They'll ask the router what IPs are available and then use what they're given.
