It says it's worth 22 cents US and there is a 3.2 million dollar market cap. There are 14,736,400 NMC out there. Seems like it has a long way to fall. I wonder how it can go up? What would have to happen?

I posted in something once and no longer want to be reminded of this fact. How can I turn off that automatic notification? All I did was reply to the topic, I didn't hit watch or anything else. It shows up in "Show new replies to your posts."

It should be painfully obvious that the mission was completed for the time being. People in addition to Bitcoin have created something from relatively nothing. After the cost of equipment and energy, the coins are minted. Currently there are about 50 altcoins that people want. If you give them enough, they will trade them for BTC and get fiat cash for them. The possibilities for hundreds of thousands of people benefited by this system is only limited by one's altruism in teaching the needy about them.
The question is, how to get them without paying fiat cash needed for bills, toys, charities, etc. and how to keep them working.
your definition of wanting as bit weird to be honest. people don't want any of the altcoins, they just trade them in very short terms to make more money. that is all. so if anything they want money not altcoins. and the possibility of profit is not for all the hundreds and thousands people who are trading these altcoins, the profit is only for a few who know how to survive in this market and the majority who are losing money consistently. I mean they work because out of nothing if you offer someone 100 of any one of ten top coins that person would be a fool to turn you down. That is, if that person knew enough to be able to trade them into BTC. People don't hold fiat money for the sake of having rectangular paper money and non numismatic coins. We would also call that person a fool. All currencies are used for another utility.

Not finding a good Gulden support thread so it was suggested I post here.
I just downloaded the wallet and it didn't catch up to a block chain. It says "No Block Source Available." I notice that there doesn't seem to be an active Gulden thread here and I don't easily dig up one elsewhere. I tried out the address the wallet gave me on a faucet and the faucet said in Dutch that the address was not legitimate.
There doesn't seem to be any kind of "synch" happening with the wallet. I'm mining this coin and would like to do due diligence on it in the here and now working of it today.
Not totally following you. What wallet did you download? Desktop or mobile? The chain should load farely quick normally. Faucet is still upgrading to 1.6.0 I believe, so not a reliable source to test anything. I downloaded it today at the website, 1.6.x and it is working fine now. Has a tiny grey Synchronizing with Network text in bottom left.

My understanding is this is a one time clean up of old lingering rewards? I mined about 2 months ago here but noticed that in the monitoring after I stopped the rewards all slowly went to zero. I did end up getting some left though and was paid this morning.

It was just very slow this time, worked fine.

And what are you powering with the supply now? Still the s1 or now an s7 or s9? Please do remember that the HP 1200 CS server supply is derated to 800w when fed 110vac.
The early s7's pull around 1,100-1250w at stock speeds which is at the limit of the HP's fed 220v and powering an s9 with one even if fed 220v is out of the question.
Thanks. It was only on the S1. I really think I may have killed it with overheating. It's good to know it has a limit at 800w at 110vac as there is that temptation to use the two other plugs it has.

I noticed I put two machines using the same log in name for my worker. That's ok, isn't it? The second seems to be climbing up in hashrate very slowly.

I don't really understand what you're going on about. Asics use electricity, servers use electricity, computers in general use electricity. The main point is that if you have a 1000w computer you don't buy a 1000w psu, you buy a 1200-1400w psu so you are not putting the psu under too much strain. You overcompensate for your needs to avoid premature failures and unsafe scenarios.
I was using a HP 1200 for an old Antimer S1. The only possible abuse that it might have got is that it was on a wood surface and probably should have been on a grill or had more bottom surface exposed to air circulation.

I was just reading this thread and I was wonder if ASICS can be hard on power supplies. Server is Killing Power Supplies http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29071814-Server-is-Killing-Power-SuppliesAccording to a guy who sells HP 1200 revamped for six pin outlets for Antiminers, it could be something else besides the power supplies that is creating the problem of dying power supplies.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Once a miner comes to your pool they should not leave. now in my case I found one block. So I made you all more than my shares should have. I bet if you look Kano you'll see that many with low blocks to diff are no longer mining. Could be im wrong. But also one has to look at all those small guys basically jut eating your rewards with Bismal chances of ever finding a block. There should be pool with a max of 1 ths per user or if they have s3 type miners. Put all those together. Those of us with min s7 or avalon 6 can stay on original pool. This will have to be done sooner better than later. They are draining this pool. Look at the small guy bdr and you'll have your answers
Br
Small miners are still hashing chances that you would have to hash too, right? Why is what they are doing useless then? Just because a miner has 1000x the possibility of finding a block, doesn't mean that they aren't getting paid also 1000x what the small miner is getting. The small miners cut down on your probabilities of wasting your hashing power.

I guess when they die they don't register as anything live when you plug them in a computer. Is that the only way to tell if one is dead? My fans go and the blue light is on inside but nothing else seems to register.

Thanks. I got it working about 10 times but always stopped it awhile as it is in my living room and like to be quiet in the morning. My advice would be to keep it running and enjoy the sauna it creates.

For some reason, there isn't a lot of Scrypt ASIC support here. I think at least some of the small miners like Gridseed Orbs should be supported to help get the currency more accepted. It's easy enough to hook one up, but when you start using several with the same computer and so on it gets more complicated.
It's very time consuming for newbies to figure some things out for themselves. I'll keep my eye on these questions to see if I can help so I can give back, but I've only been doing this about four months.
NO support because no script miner are made like they used to be and script is only done buy a few miners X11 miners and script miners made to mine Script coins, if they made Script miners like bitmian makes BTC miners you would see more up to date support but there is tons of Script miner support if you look though pages of posts here that hasn't been updated for years by years i mean 2 or more. so you won't see it unless you looks at the many pages on the forums but it is there ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . Thanks. I wonder if owners of the site would mind if it was all put in a PDF file somewhere. Not sure if there is a files section anywhere.

I am wondering if anything can be hacked in registry to get the drivers to reinstall. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.paramind.net%2Fwinusb1.jpg&t=662&c=B78RWnYzU1jQ7A)
