2521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DeM] Deutsche eMark - DEM - cryptocoin SHA256 POS/POW on: October 14, 2017, 03:07:50 AM
Hey everyone,

We have just launched a simple no sign up Deutsch eMark pool over at www.CoinMinerz.com

Here are the details:

Main pool webpage: http://www.coinminerz.com/pool/DEM/
Server address: stratum+tcp://www.coinminerz.com
Server port: 3339
Username: Your Deutsche eMark wallet receiving address
Password: can be anything

Payments occur every 1 minute for all confirmed blocks at a minimum balance of 0.1

So far we have found over a 1700 blocks in just under 2 weeks.

There are also several other SHA256 and Scrypt coins on offer to mine as well.

Happy mining everyone!

I'm editing this to somewhat answer my own questions:

Q Don't mean to sound rude, but can anyone vouch for this pool?   There is a coinminers.com pool but this one is spelled coinminerz.com

A "For any support or queries please feel free to get in touch here James@James-Henderson.com"  His site/domain looks pretty legit.

Q Is there any way to check stats at your pool while you mine?

A Block/Payment & Wallet payment history are all available on each coins pool page.

Is the ecoining pool still up?  Chrome won't let me log onto it because of something that expired.

Always liked the idea of this coin and it's sad when these coins with initial big money come in then slowly tank, losing everyone involved money. Bittrex should know that that's not what cryptocurrency is about.   Show some loyalty to old coins, please.
2524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: stop invest in coins on: October 13, 2017, 08:18:37 PM
bittrex deleted several coins These last days and He will delete other coins next days

As the Russian president Vladimir Putin said : Cryptocurrency Poses 'Serious Risks'

And someone even named a coin after him!

Noise23,
What is the purpose of this coin? Do you plan to create a roadmap? Is there a white paper in its future? What features will this coin have that can grow the community?

I think that it's one of the five best staking/highest POS coins that will not tank due to inflation.  That's enough of a reason for it's existence.
Another is there is still room for it to grow up, whereas I think a lot of 2000 Sat + coins may be going down somewhere along the line.

If nothing else, I believe that we could do with a much better website to help attract new members into this community. I'd be willing to contribute some V in order to help accomplish that goal. However, we'd need to have a utility, otherwise the best we'll ever be able to have is a one-page website.

Define what you mean by utility.

By utility, I mean use/purpose of the coin other than just staking.

How about Version is about teaching the public about staking wallets?  Those who invest in the coin are paying to have like public instructors that can hold demonstrations in libraries, schools, nursing homes, you get the idea...

"There may be many 'Versions' of Staking Wallets but do they do THIS?"

That's a great purpose/utility for the Version coin. How awesome would it be if we had an updated website with that as the purpose of the coin? That alone would bring new members to community, in my opinion. It definitely beats not having a definitive purpose.

Did you just make that up or is that really the true purpose of Version coin?

It's an ongoing goal of mine.  I think it would really empower people to have staking wallets at home.   It helps people that may not have that much going for them for extra income.  If they open their mind a bit they are rewarded by this new tech hobby that can also teach them more about using their computers, backing up important things, and so on.

I don't know what the original intent for Version is except V words sound interesting.

That sounds like a great idea. The only true way that people can earn any significant extra income from Version will be if Version actually becomes valuable. If Version can gain value to 1 penny and above and be able to remain stable above a penny, then it really has the potential to help people generate extra income. At its current price, one would have to stake for a lengthy amount of time before earning enough to buy a cup of coffee.

Maybe people from Version, Buzz, 1337, Growthcoin, Truckcoin and any other high percentage POS coin could team up and create a type of marketplace or co-op corporation against the coins tanking.  Otherwise, it seems some of these coins are going to go the route of others that came down to zero.
Or the coins could simply do a rebranding. Artificially propping up failing coins will ultimately end in failure. I've suggested that 1337 consider a rebranding, but it seems that the community voted against it some time ago. Some of these coins can get new life if they are rebranded and privacy features are added. Version has less than 500 million coins, based on Coin Market Cap. That means that If that number is accurate, it means that it could see tremendous growth if privacy were added and it was rebranded as a privacy coin. Reduce the POS percentage, rebrand the coin with maybe a new name and update the website. Those 3 things could send this coin to 30 cents in 6 months.

Doesn't seem the percentage is high enough with Version, Truck, Growth, Rain, 808, and of course, BOAT, Piggy, Noble or Kangeroobits to see the inflation be a problem.  I think the public awareness of what POS Wallets are will grow and bring more people in to stake.

Buzz, 1337 and Linda I am worried about, but you can still make profits selling them for LTC and DOGE because they are much smaller than BTC and the volatility makes them profitable.

Not a huge fan of any of those coins. I own 1337, but plan to sell them off as soon as I get a chance to break even. Never bought Linda. We need to figure out how to get some attention to Version and make it more liquid and tradeable.

The price has gone up.  It's really a great staking coin, very solid.  I would mine this a little but not sure what the best current pool is.

2527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 1337 [MANDATORY UPDATE] 20.89% APR| POS ONLY on: October 13, 2017, 07:22:06 PM
i used today`s node list which is very very long and that published at discord channel and still wallet wont get any connection. and it has been like this since the launch of wallet v1.9.

i also used novaexchange node lists and nothing. as i can see, this is a serious problem regarding this coin that spread over long period of time without a permanent solution.

if this situation will continue, many people will sell the coins on the first time their wallet is getting online.....

I have been staking fine with new version and it shows 13 connections.  Sometimes you have to delete directories, old wallets and conf anywhere on your machine, reboot,  and I have even sync'd some wallets without using new nodes people were publishing to the list.

Hi,

What are the differences between 1337 coin and the DGB coin and can it reach its price levels?

Seems like DGB has developers making applications with DGB, like gaming and other utilities.  I love 1337 because it's great to see the high interest rate but unless more people use staking wallets, it will probably remain low, unless some kind of platform develops were the 1337 coin has a new value.  If some whales built staking farms that would be nice.

There are two at the moment I am assuming that most people have their wallets closed and are waiting for stake time to re sync and stake also found some interesting stuff that the community should know I have been going through the code to try and setup POW mining and rewards ect. to help push towards wider adoption and a lower interest percent to help increase price of the currently over supplied coin numbers

POW mining is still currently active I just mined my first POW block! so this is still a hybrid coin going to look into changing the rewards scheme for POW & POS soon sorry its taking a long time guys but finding things in this code is kind of throwing me curve balls

That's good news.   I have some antminers if its sha256 I can help out.  That's one good thing about these older coins.   How much did you get for the block?

I just saw three connections last time I looked.

Thanks.   Is it normal to only have one connection right now?  Is that just because of the node your wallet is connecting to?
2534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PROGROCK TOKEN [PRG] PROGRESSIVE ROCK-- NEW 10,000 TOKEN AIRDROP!!! on: October 13, 2017, 03:37:03 PM
Is  there a roadmap? I see the token on waves dex but it has low low volume.

So far, no one is stepping up to be a part of the team.  I am offering huge bounties for people who do this.  It's time for people to step up and take some responsibility for something they believe in.  They will receive enough of the tokens to be able to distribute them themeselves.  There are some other projects I'm involved in that I think will have less support right now so I want this project which is more popular to get team support.
2535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Thread for general questions about staking wallets on: October 12, 2017, 11:35:43 PM
Thought it might be a good idea to have a thread that could discuss technical aspects of staking wallets.

Anyone know if there there is an error where a wallet will show one connection but still be offline or otherwise messed up?

I have one where it is showing that and coins as immature, which make sense as I sent a lot of small blocks to myself.  It was staking fine before that.

I gather working pos wallets can show different numbers of connections based on the nodes they happen to be using?
2536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is best PoS coin to invest into right now? on: October 12, 2017, 07:18:33 PM
My current favourite POS coins that I hold are as follows:

Waves - Their Leasing means that you dont have to keep the client running to generate more, they also airdrop new ICO coins into your wallet for holding the waves on their client.

DeepOnion - it has a 10% gain each year, high speculation so the price could sky.

Deeponion is very trashy. But waves is a good pos coin. NEO also is very good if you're looking for a pos coin. It gives gas to the holders. But the rewarding system of waves is more incentive for me.

Good news, bad news.  Good news, I asked in WAVES Slack if anyone knew if you need to have the WAVES wallet open to get the staking reward, and they say you don't need to.    Bad news, if you don't have 10K WAVES, you can't stake.

we are still waiting for the coin specs, as there are no info  in the beginning of this thread.
i looked at the old thread and it says that pos rewards is 3% - 5% how often do we get this reward? is it 3% - 5% a year or month or week or day?

thanks.

I asked for similar in a PM to the Dev, no response yet

maybe someone from the community that is already staking can answer these questions. the more info we will have the more we can enter to this coin and help to promote it.

It seems to be staking every day, 3-5% but there are also random rewards mentioned.

A lot of Crypto devs today I think are tired of a lack of a big enough team working under them.  But then I think that bounties should be given for support.   Everything takes an emotional toll for better or worse, and maybe the dev is a little tired from all the work to get the new wallet out.

Are you guys all synced now?

I just checked on the wallet and it said "Not staking because you don't have mature coin" with one connection to the network.  I keep getting these tiny stakes of like .5 and I am wondering if that has made an error.  I did send some together to make bigger blocks but not all, and now it looks like maybe this is what is causing an error with my wallet.

I'm restarting the wallet and hopefully it will sync and I can send all those small blocks into bigger blocks.  I don't know enough about staking wallets and blockchain to know exactly what's going on.

The sell orders aren't that high around current price.  Would be wonderful if this coin had an angel investor with deep pockets to spend about a bitcoin and buy up some and hold, so there isn't a mad rush to sell off.  Then maybe others could hold more and the coin could get back in the 20s and up.
