What is the purpose of this coin? Do you plan to create a roadmap? Is there a white paper in its future? What features will this coin have that can grow the community?
I think that it's one of the five best staking/highest POS coins that will not tank due to inflation. That's enough of a reason for it's existence. Another is there is still room for it to grow up, whereas I think a lot of 2000 Sat + coins may be going down somewhere along the line. If nothing else, I believe that we could do with a much better website to help attract new members into this community. I'd be willing to contribute some V in order to help accomplish that goal. However, we'd need to have a utility, otherwise the best we'll ever be able to have is a one-page website. Define what you mean by utility. By utility, I mean use/purpose of the coin other than just staking. How about Version is about teaching the public about staking wallets? Those who invest in the coin are paying to have like public instructors that can hold demonstrations in libraries, schools, nursing homes, you get the idea... "There may be many 'Versions' of Staking Wallets but do they do THIS?" That's a great purpose/utility for the Version coin. How awesome would it be if we had an updated website with that as the purpose of the coin? That alone would bring new members to community, in my opinion. It definitely beats not having a definitive purpose. Did you just make that up or is that really the true purpose of Version coin? It's an ongoing goal of mine. I think it would really empower people to have staking wallets at home. It helps people that may not have that much going for them for extra income. If they open their mind a bit they are rewarded by this new tech hobby that can also teach them more about using their computers, backing up important things, and so on. I don't know what the original intent for Version is except V words sound interesting. |

I download the wallet from the OP and it's syncing with about four connections and without any additional nodes or conf file added. I did get a "Checkpoint is Too Old" message but it's continuing to download. Let me know if you have any ideas on this.

Thanks. Just so the thread knows, yeahitsme and I are talking in email and we both have some programming background, so are looking to get this started up. I am involved in some other Token projects so I can't do a lot but this is a great coin and I think it will rise up. I downloaded the wallet from the OP and it's synching the blockchain again. I'm ok with it being on a desktop now instead of my laptop as it's a little bit memory hungry for a laptop with other wallets. |

Thanks, that helps. Comcast sent out new modems with 10.0.0.1 IP addresses, and so I had to get a new router for my Antminers, but then that failed a firmware upgrade. Netgear has turned into a draconian company that wants to just sell support, and so I didn't do anything wrong, their system seems corrupt. But, lo and behold, another huge corporation stepped in to save the day, as BestBuy just exchanged the 11 month old router with 1 month left on the warrenty because they say they will support products they sell that aren't being supported by the companies that made them. So maybe the new speed from the router will help, if not I'm switching IPs.
Well, I'm quite sure the speed of connection has nothing to do with the staking or not staking. I had to endure a day on tethering 2g speed of Tmobile and it was still staking fine. Wow, is it BB's written policy or you just met a generous(or disloyal  ) employee? That's always nice but this was from the manager....just got an 808 stake after comcast reset the connection about five hours ago, the speed had become abysmal with Youtube buzzing because of lag. I know about miner hashing but not sure about POS wallets and what they are doing, it seems someone above thought maybe speed of connection did have something to do with it. |

I don't follow this thread like a hawk so I don't know you well enough to dl your wallet. Why don't we discuss in this thread restarting the thread with people who everyone knows pretty well then we can talk about an official wallet and bootstraap. |

I'm not sure, but it looks like the 808 network needs some attention from Dev or more tech people. I just got a stake for .01 808. Also, haven't received a real stake for a couple weeks, but I still have low block size, been too busy to make sure I consolidate them all in one. Now it seems essential, whereas before I was getting stakes. I have small stakes that are 33 days old and don't want to risk that they will stake by converting them, but looks like I'll have to.
network weight is not what it used to be in the past. for fastest results you must combine the blocks. Thanks. Just did that with a bunch but I'm leaving one with 63K and 30 days. What do you think the lowest block size that will stake? Anyone? for the test bought 1010 coins passed 17 days received today 380 coins everything works perfectly with my 5-7 connections went buy 100 000 coins
Well, 63K is at 30 days now, so 2 weeks made a big difference. If I send some 0 days coins together with 30 days, it will send it all back to zero days, if I'm correct. You must have some : Shit luck or connection. My longest stake was from 18k coins at 22 day. Yesterday 60k staked at 14 day. 5 days ago, 25 k at 19 day. Hi, I'm interested in how adding coins slows down the maturity rate. Some wallets like 808 have different blocks that mature at different times, where it seems others just somehow combine all coins added into the same block. How does Bottlecaps work? I don't have a lot of coins so it adds time between stakes if I add more coins. I have more I bought at the exchange but don't want to slow down to the next reward if I can help it. Is there a block minting control somewhere that's harder to find?

I did it and had two connections so thought it was syncing as it said it was. I then unlocked my wallet for staking and checked my wallet again and had 0 connnections. I restarted it and now not unlocking it until it catches up, but the blocks I've downloading aren't moving yet it saws I have 3 connections.
I deleted the peers.dat again just in case.
So, a bit back where I started. It sucks to have to delete all the things in appdata besides conf and wallet.dat. I'll try rebooting, that worked with a Buzzcoin wallet problem.
Any other possible ways to correct this problem in case others have it?
It has a repair wallet function right in the menu and I did that and it said "wallet failed integrity test # of orphans deleted". It's still not catching up.

We really need some people to chime in here. I've been an evangelist for this coin and now it seems the network is dead. I have never used a peer list before so if that's needed please let's have some more discussion here and help newbies out. A coin depends on its community.
Close wallet. Delete file Peers.dat Edit or create growthcoin.conf; remove any existing lines begining with addnode= Add the following lines;

I've done research on finding the best staking coins and GrowthCoin has been one of them, with low entry, high staking percentage and the impossibility of inflation driving the coins down to 1 sat, which is a problem with high return POS coins. But it looks like the coin has been practically abandoned recently. Doesn't seem like you can deposit from wallet to any of the exchanges right now. Three I checked are in maintenance mode because of the new wallet. That's going on over a week....what can be done about that?
NovaExchange is working fine. Still havent heard from Cryptopia and Coinexchange but will let you all know as soon as i hear back from them. I guess you don't care about Yobit, the reason why I'm concerned about them is that I can trade my 1337 for Buzz there, but can also do that at Coinexchange. But I trade at Nova too so good to know. |
