3341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC is dead. The plan is a shift to Bitcoin Cash. on: December 20, 2017, 12:48:17 PM

Is it just me...or does it seem that BCH jumps up in price quite a bit......drama/angst/etc...then about 24 hours or less

later.....BTC goes up to more or less previous value...and the big switcharoo? And Blamo! The whales have turned $$$

to BCH and then BCH into BTC.

(This could not be that cynical a process right? Evolution of Humanity to a Bigger and Brighter Future Right?)

Anyway, seems like this is getting as common as sun up each day in the east, and set in the west.

Could this really be that simple a reason that BCH was made?

Rinse/Wash/Repeat?

A 'newbie' perpetual ATM machine?

Naw! Jihan Wu and Bitmain and the others pumping BCH, would not stoop that low, right?

Heh, I crack myself up!

3342  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] | 🔥 Coinpayments.net Signature Campaign 🔥 | on: December 20, 2017, 12:42:02 PM
Payment received but still 0 confirmations.
It will take a while, but both RBF and CPFP are ready.

The campaign is switching to a bi-weekly payment model in order to make our use of block space more efficient (from ~4 KB per month to ~2 KB per month). Everyone who is affected by this has been notified, changes to the thread have been made and changes to the sheet are in progress.

No problem. Whatever makes your life a bit easier.

We all appreciate your hard work and the securing of funds for this campaign.....and all the other day to day maintenance and/or issues.

Thanks a lot.

Brad

(hey, no getting hit with a trout this time...progress) Smiley

3343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 20, 2017, 10:34:09 AM
I am not a Xapo user.  Though I heard that they have already distributed their 520K+ BCH to their clients.  I had presumed that Coinbase is going to do the same.  But instead, they pulled this 1 hours listing stunt with nothing more than a blog/twitter post, while everyone could see that BCH is already pumping yesterday and before.  Some people even mention it in this thread.  So no market depth nor preparing people for the listing, and end up with $9,500 BCH quote and had to stop trading all together.  So much for a supposedly highest valuation "unicorn" in the crypto space.   Roll Eyes

my BCH is on coinbase....happened to look because a balloon game up saying so....it was 2c worth, lol, if I wanted to make a BCH wallet and move it Smiley

I always move my crypto off exchanges and back to a paper 'hot wallet' at least, to be safe...it saved me with mt. gox, so continued the practice since...

3344  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 20, 2017, 10:15:59 AM
Can’t stand the look of BCH Going up pffff
Bought my last BTC’s @ 18500$
 :-)
Better waited a few days :-)

I read 60% of the mining of Bcash is by Jihan Wu of Bitmain...thus....is he just not pumping and dumping to BTC or other alts or cash as this moves along?

centralized indeed, imho

( I have not moved any of my forked crypto of any flavor in USA due to this (below) or it would be a taxable event...good thing I'm paranoid of IRS or I'd not

have it sitting around as unicorn money now....I personally think the first 30% correction that lasts more than 2 weeks, and the big holders will dump it for BTC.)

my logic for holding and not doing zip with bitcoin cash on my BTC addresses

https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/26/1.451-2

The real question is, IF lighting comes out for bitcoin core and works for a scaling solution, even if modest, then what will happen to BCH and other bitcoin forks

prices....you know bitcoin core is gonna drop a shoe on this soon

whatever, looks good for paper profits (I actually shake my head at BTC and BCD stuff sitting on my BTC blockchain (supposedly)

life is weird in crypto land (waiting for other shoe to fall, I'm not sure I can handle all this 'luck' and 'prices' after a lifetime of being a 'cranky' pessimist!

3345  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 19, 2017, 05:37:28 PM
DragonMint is real because Adam Back will never lie about the miners. For what reason would Adam Back lie like that, anyway? i'm placing my pre-order once it is open, with or without this review regardless.

IF that guy posted positive stuff on bitcointalk be cautious anyway...on the original litecointalk I bought (or tried to, was a scam hacked acccount) a titan cube from the account of the original 4 founders/super mods with all powers on that site...it was hacked...and when found out I think the hacker having all sysop powers ...flushed the site

just go to www.litecoinpool.io you will see the original much bigger thread in archive mode...was a shame the loss of continuity with past fix/refurbish threads for asics..

so, don't always count on all the folk on here being who they say they are.....the database for bitcoin talk was hacked in 2014 (notice the threads to SELL hero accounts etc)

again realize the LTC site above was hacked, as an example of what hacked accounts still are about on bitcointalk or new for that matter

anyway, if this adam black fellow,  said it outside of bitcointalk in some legit newsprint ....or whatever that would be more encouraging...as an outside source from this thread...

dumb way to promote your product for sale, imho, but then again, they may have just backed off this whole idea of selling them at current

prices...we've seen that with asic makers before as well...maybe they are simply quiet because they are mining them like hell Smiley

So I always use escrow now, if one of the 4 main guys on litecointalk can get his account hacked, well no sale is safe w/o escrow of any note

but anyway, I bet they are just a mining at this time....and putting off it for sale...again...assuming the units exist or will exist in mass

3346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spending Bitcoin These Days on: December 18, 2017, 10:55:52 PM
I also was spending my bitcoin these past few days since I really need to buy gifts for the kids and also for my mother and father and also for my son. I want them to be happy even in a simple way that they will think I remember them this Christmas. I want to spread love for them in that simple way but after this I would probably save my bitcoin and I will go to save more than to spend more.

heh, give them a paper wallet with some BTC....either they will laugh a few years from now or go DAMN! Cha-Ching!

3347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LISK price speculation on: December 18, 2017, 10:53:20 PM
Guys, do you think LISK can rise to 50+$ in first quarter of 2018?

I"m not following much...I do have a pretty good chunk of LISK...did I miss something of note?

(like a guy in a Godzilla movie...walking around with headphones and looking at his Iphone?)

anyway, seems I missed something on this pump of note for such a rise in price?

thanks

3348  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 18, 2017, 10:50:54 PM

not sure this pig can fly if LTC hits 500 USD as an example...just saying...times a wasting

Sorry - confused.... LTC?  Scrypt?  This is a SHA256 BTC Miner we are talking about...

oops sorry... the wrong venue...getting my unicorn miners on bitcointalk mixed up

but again..same issue..but less dire perhaps with BTC difficulty....

but, price vs what you can get out of any flavor asic unit vs Bitmain lowering prices to compensate..is a real consideration

on NOT to wait much longer

again, if this unit is real

3349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: December 18, 2017, 10:47:21 PM
You  need to ask Bitmain about that, we are unable answer you.

Most likely that looks like it's logistics company fault.
Thanks, will ask them.     In fact this is not Bitmain's fault.     The rig travelled to US and then to another country, and was damaged somewhere on the way.

I just wonder will BM fix it for money at least.

I think Bitmain has a clause it is not responsible for damage via carrier. Pretty sure your only course is thru the shipper.

Due to some reasons (negligence of the receiving hosting provider who did not inspect the shipment on arrival and did not make any comments on the courier documents) I can't claim for compensation from the shipper or courier.

So I need to decide, is it worth of spending $300 (DHL price) for the shipping to Bitmain,  and asking BM for repair, or better just throw this D3 away...

send a pic first..they likely won't repair this and refer you back to the shipping company

but no, likely at D3 mining not worth the price IMHO

is there any board or anything salvageable of any note on this unit...you might get something for a board....assuming it half-assed works (doubtful)

you could contact Lightfoot on here...he may simply look at it for free..he is in the USA and repairs knc titans and stuff..perhaps you'd get lucky

ask him, he likely would not charge you zip if it is unfixable

on a side note, you should with a picture at LEAST IMHO, be able to take this off your gross income as equipment for a complete loss, even if

you did not use it as such, for equip deduction.....not sure which is better or any difference...

good luck, but a few pictures to Lightfoot may be helpful to at least know if any hope or not.....

but again, at least you'd have the view of a miner tech on this beast (again pics...)

tell him I sent you

but if he says it is fixable you may have the same problem too much to expect vs price

good luck

Brad

If the "one digit per year" rate of increase in Bitcoin's price continues, then someone who now has X BTC, in December 2018 his/her coins will have the current value of XX BTC. And those who now have XX BTC, will end up with the current value of XXX BTC!

Many of us will achieve "wealthy" status!
Some will progress from "wealthy" to "rich" status!

Can you handle it?  Shocked

I’m going to give it a good go, fingers crossed.

Litecoin Cash[FLO2USD] news just leaked they got Dennis Rodman to serve as CEO? Shocked weeeee ===>

https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_flo

this is disturbing in so many ways, likely because I believe it is IS true, even w/o reading the above

3351  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 18, 2017, 10:24:30 PM
I have to say that this is not necessarily the full picture. For example, you also have to consider that the longer that certain sensitive information (like parts and supply chain) is out there, the long the competition might have to formulate a game plan.

the quicker they get legit info out the longer they can sell..if they have had a demo for 3 weeks they have already lost lots of $$$

True, but times a wasting...and the price/performance is not that far from used scrypt-pow equipment, at the current price rise....

not sure this pig can fly if LTC hits 500 USD as an example...just saying...times a wasting

myself, if legit, big if, IMHO, they already missed the ideal timeline for showing the demo 3 weeks ago

again, at this point, I still think it is likely it is Unicorn noise..and a bit of dubious possible tracks and poop.....but alas, no real Unicorn Sad

3352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC is dead. The plan is a shift to Bitcoin Cash. on: December 18, 2017, 10:18:00 PM

On a BCH note of $$$ falling from the sky on it hitting the world at around $280 USD I think it was

looks like you MAY NOT have to pay income tax on this free $$ falling from the sky from the below tax link

IF YOU JUST LEFT IT ALONE AND DID NOT MOVE IT etc and/or ignored and or did not sell or move any of it

ie likely NOT a taxable event (from what I can tell from the link below...ask your CPA ..show them the link)

of which with 22 the last I counted Bitcoin Forks dropping cash from the sky..that could be spendy

https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/26/1.451-2

so emptying out a your BTC wallet, then getting BCH wallet then running address thru again etc etc

may qualify as too much work with the above....and we are golden..not a taxable amount/event

so you do ZIP according to what I can tell above and it is likely NOT a taxable event

but I'd figure out what BCH and the other forks MAY cost you if IRS comes after us, as income

(the IRS really hates $$$ from the sky or gold from the ground w/o taxes...look at crypto minng)

thus, it is a long shot..but I'd be aware of this, and have an amount handy, just because...hey

its the frigging IRS, which goes by its own logic.

Rember, the IRS DID go after all 15 million people on coinbase and demanded passwords and everything

because they sued 3 guys who they suspected were cheating on taxes thru coinbase

so be aware the above link may not be the real deal and IRS could decide to spread FUD

and mess with this can of 22 forks dropping $$$ from the sky anyway and call it income for all of us

on all or any new forked BTC coins

but, calmed my nerves a bit, as this being unlikely...but ask your CPA and show him the link

just saying, I will have an amount on this on BTC forks at the end of the year anyway, I will

just hope I'm correct and won't have to add it on as gross income

later

3353  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 18, 2017, 10:06:50 PM

Not sure this is true about capital gains and income taxes....Puerto Rico

but it damn sure got my attention!

https://www.cheatsheet.com/money-career/states-great-tax-breaks-retirees.html/10/

wow! (if true, damn unlikely...but wow!)

3354  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 18, 2017, 10:03:34 PM
Hey promojo,

So just to help settle this for the community, I live less than 2 hours away and will cruise into Winnipeg to take a legit picture with the unit. Or if that's not allowed, look at it confirm it works and then hit the road and get out of your life.

Where abouts in the city are you? Do you have anyone in the cryptonutz community that can vouch for you? I'm sure Kevin would clear a spot in his bench for an hour so you could clear things up.

Let me know

Kevin C?  We have talked a few times....  I got introduced to him through one of my colleagues.   I am sure Kevin could vouch for me personally as NOT a scammer/liar/whatever because of the relationship.   And one day; yes I could do that.

As for meeting me... That would require you going to one of my data centres and that isn't happening.  So it would have to be at Kevins' and more than likely not with this model as I do not have permission to show it to others except for video/pictures.  I am sure we can work something out.  Give it time.

still, you got to admit this sounds like the 'long con' going on here..you would not be the first nor the last bitcointalk ALT to get hacked....string it along..people continue to buy

via the BTC site...then when push comes to shove.....POOF

so approach your folk if you are legit on these miners... the LTC difficulty is shooting up...if they don't give you permission to show the unit they are scam'ing you as well with some

hacked NONreal miner and/or are idiots

the quicker they get legit info out the longer they can sell..if they have had a demo for 3 weeks they have already lost lots of $$$

just saying, the tune is familiar even if the musician happens, in this case, to be legit let say...

but we are only so far..hearing the tune..which has NOT a good reputation.....not the guy playing the tune....

which requires proof....

or this is just a hacked account making unicorn noises....

3355  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 18, 2017, 03:32:24 PM
***  Halongmining Dragonmint miner is a SCAM! If someone buys their miners without any well-known and trusted Forum Users 1st getting one for doing a review and posting it here then well, you have been warned ***

Guess time to start adding the SEO tagging to posts here.
Maybe it will prod a certain someone into providing the proofs that folks here are asking for?
Do your review as promised and the SEO tag goes away.

we just got new difficulty in  about 20%  jump

So with coins at 18000 plus

and this vapor gear due in March or April

a few more big jumps  and  it will not be much of anything even if it is real.

and as I said  bitmain will simply sell  the s-9 for 750 or 800 and crush  this gear with  a 120 day wait for delivery.

I feel sorry for those that purchased it even it they get it in April.

Bitmain sent me an email  and my Jan 15-31 gear is arriving in 2 days.

yeah, I'm stalling in getting no gear, the evil knc titans are still working...and the bitmain stuff with titans have all roi'd etc...so mining and holding as much LTC

as I can is my goal..in the race against LTC difficulty.

The way the price is doubling 1x a month is also an issue...how can I sit on my hands for 3 months and guess ROI with that going on?...

.with BTC and LTC tagging along....proportionally on an upshoot...equip makes little sense but in hobby mode....especially if this guy below is correct...

(damn, but do I want him to be correct!)

he called the 20k by the end of this year in July...so perhaps unicorns/fairies/and magic do exist!

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/17/bitcoin-price-ronnie-moas-sees-cryptocurrency-at-300000-400000.html

I mean, if BTC does that..what is the 'proportional' price of LTC, especially if the transaction fees stay somewhat reasonable

anyway, until something for the price in crypto of any flavor goes sideways (and I don't need miner toys for fun)

I'm sitting on my hands and watching the parade!

later

brad

p.s. I just sold some LTC for expenses, etc...and now LTC is pumping....you can thank me!

happy to help! (whenever I sell any 'flavor' of crypto the price goes up... it's a frigging gift!)

3356  Economy / Economics / Re: Why did you choose bitcoin? on: December 18, 2017, 03:25:07 PM
Heard about BTC in July of 2013....ordered a KNC 500gh Jupiter miner July 1st, 2013....turned it on after I got it (filled with rainwater..I was freaking) on

Oct 18th, 2013 and BTC I think was $150 USD...I think I was getting 1 BTC a day...

The reason I got it was, I WAS BORED, I had like 4k of Game of Thrones Swords (book versions) before HBO hit..and said screw it..sold them for 4K

took the other 3k I was gonna put back into the BBS game server (lost gonzo bbs) and figured it made more sense to do this for the REAL 3k or so

investment on my plan to sell the swords (which I did, eventually) thus with sword profits ...real risk was 3k more or less (thank you HBO!)

I figured...a somewhat flat ROI of say 1 year..then figured IF I was lucky ..I'd get like 6 months of income to pay house utils or so..and call it a wash

as a hobby...

Also, looked at how it was being used in Cyprus to get around corrupt gov't and such and figured it would jumpstart the micro-lending loan/club startups that were starting in India

and that was my plan...do a little good...be less bored Smiley

of course, the unit ROI'd in like 3 weeks and then by Thanksgiving in the USA (around Nov 25th or so) BTC was $1,100 USD...

and we were off! Damn, I was such a nice newbie with modest dreams, kinda got away from me/us...

anyway, sure beat spending $60 bucks a month in electric cost to get the game server up, simply because I was bored!

A lot of folks, stumbled into BTC in this manner in 2013, very few of us thought it would be much more than a 'niche' hobby etc

good luck on your study

brad

HODL That's my strategy.

er...how ya gonna do that if this guy is correct?

(hell, I'm already 1 stripper away from a bad decision at these prices!)

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/17/bitcoin-price-ronnie-moas-sees-cryptocurrency-at-300000-400000.html

I mean, hell, it gets to 400k a BTC and the shock is gonna kill my frail heart!

(well, it gets to his 400,000 a BTC level ..and I can still HODL, we will see how big a set I have I guess)

wimper Sad not frigging likely ;(

3358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 18, 2017, 03:09:49 PM
bch pumpin, is it a bad sign ?

People dumping Bcash instead of ''using'' them..

Bitcoin looks more healthy.

As a LTC dumper of 2 min ago (to pay bills) the LTC price is now pumping.....(my skills at selling at the wrong time is epic!)

anyway, your welcome!

enjoy!
